Lychee Valley Chinese Takeaway in Cannock Chase

First time to try this place as I'd been recommended by a friend, asked for extra hot chicken and beef curry but got mild, rice had hardly any flavour and chips quite soggy. After telling my friend of the outcome he said the issues maybe a 1 off but I don't think I'll try again if I'm honest. Plus the place doesn't look that clean from outside and by counter. Not sure what kitchen looks like.

They forgot an egg fried rice on the last two occasions. I got told a driver was coming out to deliver it and they never did. The girl on the fine even read the order back to me after I complained as it was ordered so the chefs either forgot or the delivery driver is eating it. Either way it was paid for on both occasions, and not sent. Had no apology or the missing items sent and iv been ordering from here for 16 years. Well they have lost me as a customer now!

First time with lychee valley very happy with the food had a chicken curry and egg fried rice and a spring roll lovely had it delivered order it over the phone very perlite lady who was takeing my order 👍

Been using these for as long as I can remember, purchased a takeaway tonight and it wasn't fit for pigs. Raw chips, raw egg in the omelette and chicken curry was disgusting. Phoned them back and no apologies just a 10% discount on next order. Time to find a new Chinese takeaway. I'd avoid is my recommendation. Had to leave one star as wouldn't let me leave none

Ordered from here at 22:15pm food was delivered in 20 minutes. Would recommend this Chinese as the food was amazing, 5 stars.

Over last 2 years myself and family have been using this takeaway. Freindly staff to take your order, and also delivery driver/s are allways nice and friendly. Food is allways fresh, hot in temperature and tastes great. Usually a little busier at weekends, but well worth a short wait.

Used this Chinese for about 20 years won't use eney one else

Wonderful selection and their spare ribs are delicious....from memory as I'm now a vegetarian. But they do have some great meat free options on the menu but their chips aren't the best, nice but lacking the quality of some of their rivals.

My young son won't ever eat a chicken chow mein with no veg from any other Chinese. Most defo one of my favs too 😀

Absolutely brilliant phoned during lockdown said an hour delivery bang on time thank you lychee and the food was excellent 👍👍

Polite staff, open but safe during the virus, not too long a wait

Placed an order for delivery on a Saturday evening, I was told it would be be 1 hour & 1.25 hours. No problem with that as I appreciate they were busy. After an hour and 40 minutes I called to enquire if there was a problem. I was told that they did not have an order for my address or in my name. Obviously I challenged this and was met with a torrent of abuse and that I was deliberately causing trouble !!!! I have been a regular customer at this establishment for over 20 years but I will NEVER patronise them ever again. Disgusting 😡😡😡 Advice - DO NOT USE THIS PLACE, plenty of choice locally with far better standards

Great food have used these for over 10 years now always friendly the staff cant fault them the curry is top notch

Been using these Chinese take away for a while and have to say each time we have one we say we’re not gonna bother again. But the always give them another go because they used to be so good! Food is over done and dry. Always takes longer then told. The woman on the phone is lovely though :)

In ordered food for delivery, it was nice and hot and they were quick with delivery, however the food let them down ! I ordered beef and mushroom, the beef was really chewy and there wasn't much flavour or sauce !!, the chips were overdone too, the rice was ok but with lack of source it was craggy ! The chicken balls were average... won't be ordering from them àgain.. sorry people

Vast improvement over the years delivery only took 40 mins and they answered the phone straight away. Food was hot and nice. Will use again in future.

We had been using lychee for 20 years but on this occasion the food did not turn up. When I phoned them after 2 hours of waiting they said they had not sent it out yet? At this point I told them to forget it. Ashame as the food is amazing this can't be said for the service not even an apology....

I only have take a way from lychee usually but next time may try a different place it didn't arrive on time and wasn't very hot when it did arrive this as happened a couple of times now i don't have them very often but I do expect it hot when I do shame really because i do like their food

Great takeaway. There are other good Chinese takeaways ok no Cannock, but this one is our regular. Good food and the best Chinese curry!

Over 2 hours for delivery, madness! should get more staff to cope with deliveries if they only have 1 or 2 people... still starving haha, hasn’t come yet!

Absolutely best tasting chinese takeaway delivery however is slow so if your really hungry collect or order early 🍛🍴

Hit and miss with food although they are friendly staff.

We got a takeaway from here after visiting the NEC. It was around midnight & we googled Chinese near our hotel. Phoned through they accepted our order. When we arrived the order was nearly ready. They explained that they had been nervous taking such a big order late at night as they do get fake orders! Very reasonably priced. Took food away and it was excellent with great portions. Wish we had one like it near us. Would definitely recommend.

best around here. for barbeque spare ribs. friendly fast delivery most the times. I usually have omelette. chips hit and miss though

Ordered from Lychee on a Friday evening not had anything from here for a good few years! Told us 45 mins for delivery we called again after 1hr 30 mins to find out where our food was on its way obviously! Almost 2 hours after we ordered it turns up! Food was bloody lovely tho to be honest! Good price too cheaper than our usual so may try again next time!

Very good takeaway, keenly priced, excellent food & plenty of choice with some unique specials. Generous portions too. Can be kept waiting too long for delivery at busy times

We've had a bad takeaway before from here... The issue was more with the deliver driver. We were driving past and called in to try again. Food was beautiful. Restaurant is shockingly dated and almost dirty looking. Man is very grumpy lol.

Ordered me n my hubby a Meal each I had king prawn curry prawns were tiny and was bloody disgusting prawns were bright orange rice tasted burnt and curry sauce was disgraceful prawns taste off never again will I order from this place the bloke told me 21.50 on phone and then it comes and the drivers says 22.50 when they give price it's with delivery in total I am disgusted

This place is good for the money but the wait time on delivery could be a little quicker the food is around average.

No other Chinese in the area compares! Been ordering our takeaways from here for years. Delivery can be long but definitely worth it. Especially recommend trying out a spring roll - honestly you will never try another take-away again! Food heaven!

We now order takeaway from here on a weekly basis and can't beat it. The chicken curry is in our opinion the best in the area! Crab claws are delicious and aromatic duck lovely! Great portion sizes too, brilliant little take away.

The take away is competitively priced. We ordered whilst visiting friends and six of us had the food delivered. It was good, no problems with the dishes and portion size ok. It saved our friends from cooking as she would not have cooked anywhere near as good as this... (hope she not reading).... Delivery was 45 minutes not 30 minutes as stated. They did put free prawn crackers in, but it was a £70 order.

I have previously order a take away and it arrived in a hour which i think is acceptable and it was really nice i could not fault it . me and the girl friend the order again from cheslyn hay which it approximately 4 miles away. At first my girl friend rang for a delivery and asked if they deliver to cheslyn hay before she could say if not we will come and pick it up the phone was put down. So i rang them back and asked the same question do you deliver to cheslyn hay . the man on the other end of the phone laughed and said no . so i said that OK , before i could say can i still make and order the man on the phone said so are you going to make an order then . so i replied you have just put the phone down on my girl friend and haven't apologized and your still continuing to be rude to me i don't thinks so and then i put the phone down

We have been loyal to Lychee Valley for the last 15 years . Up to just recently the food has been good and delivery times were adhered to. The last 3 times they have been late but we gave them a chance and ordered again on Friday 28th November. We were told 50 mins to an hour delivery. After an hour I rang they said they had a trainee taking orders over the phone and the food would be there in 15 mins. It wasn't!!! So my husband decided to go out and get some alternative food. They did arrive 1 hour and 20 mins after we ordered the food. I refused to take delivery and said I wouldn't be using them again. To be honest I don't think they care. Their customer service is disgusting. We won't be using them again. If this how they treat loyal customers how do they treat new ones? After 15 years loyal service we will sadly be taking our business elsewhere. If this was my business I would ensure that all of my customers, regular and new were looked after.

I see the reviews being disappointed with the customer service, though I've never had a bad conversation with the phone order takers before, they've always been pleasant and polite with me.And as for the food - well you get what you pay for.. I usually use Lychee after a few beers and it's one of the latest chineses in cannock, and it does everything I need it to do when I have my drunken hungryness! I think the food is actually quite nice!

I a not shocked at all to see that others have also commented on the absolute redness of this man... I have never been spoken to in such a abrupt horrible way in the food industry befor in my life... And I was only ordering food... "sorry mate" I mean FKN hell this guy was a c**t and from his attitude alone dose not deserve customers... Let's hope the food is better that his attitude.....

this place is in walking distance of our house, so we were hoping it would be good. Unfortunately it was not, the staff are quite rude, not happy to serve you, and the food is not that nice, we wont be going again.

I often order from lychee and on many occasions and the person on the phone has been moody and abrupt, it like they dont want any custome. I let this go. I recently ordered from there and after a moody telephone conversation my order was placed and i was told it would be an hours wait. After an hour and ten minutes I rang to inquire where my delivery was the man said I think the drivers on there way, so as I live 5 minutes away by car I thought it wouldn't be long. After a further 20 minutes no order had arrived I rang again but no answer finally 5 minutes later it arrived no apology. So iv got my delivery finally but no I'm missing items I rang back the man seemed to question this and didn't seem to care he said I'll send the driver back offering no apology so waited another 10 minutes but finally got all my order and sat down to eat. The mushrooms were not nice, the wings had no meat, the rice was overcooked and the chow main was dry. So this is the last time I will be going to them for food and i have been going there for a while. It has been slowly been getting worse but the night in question has decided for me, to not waist any money on a place with such shoddy customer service.

Always superb never get my Chinese from anywhere else singer pore chow main crispy chicken peaking sauce is delicious
