I’ve been many times over the years, different locations but the coffee, food and choice of Italian groceries has remained first class. But most of all, the atmosphere is so Italian and the staff are the best. It’s my first choice place to go in Manchester regardless of location. Simply the best 🇮🇹

All the food is amazing! Hard to make a choice! The staff were more than happy to accommodate my gluten free choices. I had the parmigiana di melanzane was super tasty and I would highly recommend! Millefoglie for desert...one word- wow!

If I was to take away a star it would be the location. My sat nav didn’t quite get me there. It’s in a funny tucked away corner. But I am not going to be so mean. That’s just a quirk of geography. We had a lovely meal that was very reasonably priced Service was good without being too much. It is a tiny tiny place so would worry about getting a table. I will probably phone first now I have seen how tiny Lupo is.

As an Italian that studies abroad it feels good to know that I can taste a piece of Italia anytime. The food is 100% authentic, tasty, simple and super delicious. Great atmosphere, great service and interesting selection of niche-products that are very hard to find anywhere else. The espresso is a must, by far the best you’ll ever try in Manchester (the tiramisù is amazing too) I suggest this place to anyone that appreciates great food and excellent ingredients.

I was recommended this Caffe by a friend and have been meaning to try it for months now. Today was my first visit and I collected lunch to take back to our offices to feed 9 members of staff. All I can say is that I wish I hadn't left it so long before we tried it as this little Caffe is a hidden gem. The food is restaurant quality all freshly prepared and you can tell. We tried a wide variety of dishes and all 9 of the staff were amazed by the quality of the food. Everything we tried both hot and cold dishes was met with appreciation from all 9 of us. You can tell it's home made and fresh and it was such a welcome change. Nico the owner was very friendly and extremely passionate about the food he produces and explained all the dishes he had on offer today. He makes everything himself and you can tell and it was also an added bonus to hear that he also grows most of his produce too. I was hesitant to leave a review not for any other reason but selfish reasons as we would like to keep this little gem all to ourselves however this place deserves the huge thumbs up that we are all giving it. We will continue to visit, enjoy it and shout from the roof tops about it, what a find !!! Thank you Lupo you made lunch time for everyone a pleasure today.

Very strange attitude to customer service Asked for a flat white. Answer: “it’s not on the menu we only make Italian recipes”Ok fair enough, can I have a latte with an extra shot please?” No can’t do that Wanted an espresso but they wouldn’t do a double espresso either. Worth noting that the server was very polite about the whole thing but the boss is so particular/fanatical about only serving his view of what a coffee should be he ignores the simple requests of his customers. If I hadn’t been short of time I would definitely have gone elsewhere and I certainly wouldn’t return. Pity really, because the coffee and cakes were good but still managed to leave a bad taste due to bad attitude

This cafe appears to cater for office workers. There is no car park. My friend and I parked on ordsall hall - £2.50. Nobody had heard of cafe lupo but the staff at ordsall Hall were very helpful. They googled and printed a map for us. It was a 10 minute walk in a temperature of 30 degrees. The cafe is very difficult to find if you are not familiar with the area. If it hadn’t been for two office workers on their break we would never had found it. We thought we would have a coffee in the garden but even though it was 30 degrees there were no sun umbrellas in the garden. There was a notice in the window - iced coffee. I ordered an iced coffee and a white coffee. I was informed by a very unenthusiastic guy that there was no ice but he had sent for some. He couldn’t say how long the wait would be so we left. Not a happy experience.

Lupo is based near my office so I have visited on a number of occasions since the new location opened. I was initially delighted that Exchange Quay would finally have an independent/high quality coffee alternative to the other (limited) options available in the area - and envisaged myself visiting several times a week. The cafe itself is beautiful and the coffee is delicious (the pastries are very bland however), but every time I've paid the shop a visit I've been disappointed by the customer service, to the point where since my most recent visit I've decided never to return again.

Lupo Cafe' is the typical Italian cafe', very far from the Starbucks style stereotyped Italian cliche'. Here you can find several types of esquisite coffee, Nicola (the owner) is fond of upper quality coffee and buys the best ones travelling all around the world. Don't ask him to make any change to the tradition because he won't! At Lupo you can only find the true Italian traditional stuff... The menu includes several types of cakes, biscuits, crostate, tiramisu, and at lunchtime you can choose among two choices, prepared fresh in the morning and different every day. Last but not least, you can buy delicatessen imported from Italy, from special pasta Gragnano to Buffalo mozzarella cheese from Campania. A must to go for either starting the day properly or having a nice treat during the day!!!

Went out of our way today for the " authentic " Italian coffee only to avow never to come back. Ordered a cappuccino with an extra shot only to be told " we can't do that " so ordered an espresso on the side. Espresso never arrived even though I asked 2 different people twice. I was really puzzled so asked again only to be told by Nico that he was flatly refusing to sell me an espresso because he knew that I would add it to my cappuccino, compromising what he believes to be the best cappuccino this side of Rome!!If you had made that clear from the outset then we would have turned on our heels and headed to any one of Manchester's fantastic independent coffee shops where they know as much about coffee as you but don't patronise their customers.Having looked through similar reviews to mine , you seem to say the same thing about it "not being personal" but like I tried to explain to you, it is personal because you question my judgement, assume you know better than me and embarrassed me. NOT the way to treat a paying customer. Please do not reply to me as you have with others ,with the same dross about hand crafted coffee beans etc etc. You already gave us the patronising lecture. Walking in you can immediately tell the quality of this cafe, from the biscuits from Rome to the homemade tiramisu, cakes and pastries on display. They serve what is fresh that day- 2 meals one vegetarian and one meat option. There is something quite special about a place that only serves that days best ingredients and with no printed menu. Both meals- we had one of each, did not disappoint, both were delicious and I would gladly go back! I even enjoyed the coffee- which I don't normally drink and then indulged in the tiramisu which was beautiful. The owner was brilliant from the recommendations to being attentive but not imposing. Was passing by and decided to grab a quick coffee. Had to wait a good while before being asked what I'd like as the two staff were busy looking at a video on a mobile phone. They don't do a flat white but said their cafe latte was similar - as it was a small cup not a vat of milk like in Starbucks. The coffee was small, but judging by the lack of strength it must only have contained a single shot of espresso. Don't know if this is penny pinching or just that they believe coffee should only be a background taste! Either way, I won't be back.

Best coffee in Manchester. No doubt. The food is also sublime and definitely worth a lunch time visit if you're looking for authentic Italian cuisine.

I love Lupo! The coffee is great, the food is awesome, freshly cooked, different menu each day. The tiramisu is to die for! The owners are Italian and really friendly.Great little coffee shop, so much better than the big chains.

Great little authentic Italian coffee house. Good quality coffee, tasty cheese and salami panini for breakfast, reasonable prices, great atmosphere.

This was our 2nd visit to Lupo and in fact we went twice today, once for coffee this morning and back for lunch later this afternoon. This is a great authentic and relaxing cafe which provides great coffee, home made cake and pasta.Such a refreshing change from going to a high street chain.Would strongly recommend this cafe and also great to support a local individual business.

Had a walk after shopping and decided to call for a quick coffee. Guy behind counter very distracted and not very welcoming. I had read this was friendly warm cafe but didn't really get that feeling. It's very small inside. Quite a decent menu and specials change every day. I ordered a latte and it wasn't really anything special to be honest and was very expensive. I wasn't even given sugar or napkin etc. I wouldn't go out of my way to go again.

Been here three times and really wanted to like it...little family run neighbourhood cafe however the experiences over the visits have added up to simply a 1 star experience.Firstly the portions are small and not exactly what you would call neighbourhood cafe prices. When you are paying the same amount for a pasta dish as you would in a San Carlo restaurant in here then you know something is amiss. Doubly so when you get a smaller portion than you might expect in San Carlo (or salvis for that matter)! What took the biscuit is on the last visit the owner refused to warm up my grandmas coffee. Despite her making clear when she ordered that she likes it hot, it was served lukewarm and the owner point blank refused to warm it up because it "would ruin the flavour of the milk". To be honest mate, my grandma is in her 70s when she asks for you to warm up her coffee and then I ask you and then she asks you again, then usually I would guess that means the customer wants it warmed up. Did not expect a refusal and to be told " it's nothing personal", i thought it was disgraceful and ruined my afternoon out with my grandmother, as silly as it sounds as I promised to take her to a nice friendly family run place.Any way illusion shattered, I can also say that the overpriced cakes are also lacking in flavour and NO WAY worth the cost.Don't believe the hype and definitely don't ask for your coffee to be served hot!

A warm welcome, some great chat in Italian and a really lovely tasty smooth cup of coffee. As we were leaving the lunch specials appeared on the board and they really made me want to stay just a little bit longer. Will certainly return when we have more time. Grazie tanto, Nicola.

Awesome. I cannot express how chuffed I am that this place is in my neighbourhood. Real gutsy coffee with beautifully made (Italian style) breakfast. I feel like apologising that I hadn't been sooner. Two breakfasts (made with obvious love and care), two expresso, a cappuccino and a cannoli cost a tenner. Forget Cafe Nero. Lupo rules.

Soon as you walk in, there's a smile waiting! A super happy guy who u can tell loves his job. Found this place just walk around. The Haiti espresso was to good, his extraction was by eye no volumetrics needed! The crema deep golden. When I was there I had Italian meatballs and best meatballs ever! A Must visit.

This hidden gem is one of the best places I have ever eaten! The owners are friendly and so passionate about what they are doing, we asked for their recommendations on what to eat and weren't disappointed! Possibly the tastiest sandwich I have ever eaten, I would definitely recommend the avocado and mozzarella; even the salad was delicious. We got a chocolate and orange and a raspberry and cream tart to take home, all made freshly at Lupo.I would recommend this place to anyone all of the food is freshly made and the staff are lovely, the atmosphere was lovely, I almost felt like I was in Italy! I will definitely be returning :)

I am a regular customer. I try to go there almost everyday because I love this place! They have a great coffee and their cakes are really good! they make their own cakes not like other places were they give you a frozen one. you can eat there as well. I had been there for breakfast and lunch and I really enjoyed it! I recommended Lupo to my friends as well. It´s a small place but Ilove it. You should try it. I am sure you will repeat! Friendly Staff as well!

Noisy, crowded, too many tables in a small room. Starters were ok, pretty basic. For main course had swordfish, which was ok (oily, tasting of nothing but garlic) but all it came with was a small side dish of veg - which were so undercooked the carrots were hard, let alone the broccoli which was raw. Will not visit again.

We had a lovely evening for my grandmas birthday. The food was exceptional and we were looked after by a lovely gentleman named Josue, he was very friendly and a great conversationalist. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Set menu. Food very plain. Could have been supermarket bought. Table 7, all did not feel food was nice or of quality. Portion size too big
