Lunyalita in Liverpool

The food is lovely and the service is great, what's not to like. The location is also stunning within easy reach of central amenities and the cruise terminal

We happened upon this restaurant as we were walking through Albert Dock on a break in Liverpool and saw a guitarist playing inside, so we decided to stop for some food. The tapas were excellent and in particular the chorizo is highly recommended. Service was very prompt and friendly- this looks like a proper family-run restaurant.

We ate at Lunya Lita last night for our anniversary dinner. We were a bit worried after reading some reviews but are so glad we went! We simply cannot fault the service or the food. The staff were very friendly and attentive , the drinks were great and the food was amazing!! We would definitely highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to going back!

Wow..... value for money and great choice on the lunch time menu.Would highly recommend the chorizo own recipe, patatas brava and Beer. perfect. Super friendly welcoming and very helpful staff. Cant wait to return

Dishes came out staggered as expected, but some came hot and some came cold, some didn't come at all until chased, by which point it was too late to enjoy them. The steak was cut incorrectly before serving so was chewy as hell, but the rest was ok. Glassware was filthy with residue. Female waitress has a serious, and by the sounds of it from previous reviews - ongoing lack of customer service and hospitality skills problem. If you don't want to work in hospitality, then just please dont. You make the experience miserable for all and I imagine for other staff too. People pay a lot to eat out and to have a lovely time, they dont pay to feel like an inconvinience or a chore. However, the manager/supervisor was wonderful, so was the other young man waiting on. Will probably give another go and try the lunch menu at some point, but simply because of them 👍

Firstly I will say that I am an idiot and managed to book a table for the wrong branch of the restaurant despite having visited both many times and being very much aware that there are two. Our saint of a waitress was very accommodating of my apparent inability to use a booking form and found us a table on the gorgeous terrace after us waiting about 5 minutes at the bar. I brought a group of friends with some fairly complex dietary requirements and we had a fantastic meal: vegetarians, pescetarians, vegans and people with allergies are extremely well catered for and we had a lot of dishes to choose from! We watches the sun set over the Albert Dock while eating delicious food, couldn't ask for more.

When in Liverpool I usually go to Lunya in Hanover Street but this time I decided to try here. As the name suggests it is smaller than Lunya. So the food was the same. No complaints there. However when I came to order an Estrella Galicia I was told they had run out of both types but I could have a Estrella Dam which I did. However when the man on the next table came to order any Estrella he was told they had now completely run out..obviously I got the last one! A group on the next table wanted to take away a salad at the end of their meal but were told they had run out of boxes for salad takeaways so had to have it in a paper bag. After I had finished eating I went quite a long time for someone to come and ask if I wanted the bill and then sometime before that arrived and then longer before they brought the card machine. Luckily I was not in a hurry. So I did not think the service was any where near as good as Lunya in Hanover Street. It was not as though the place was busy! So next time it is back to Hanover Street!

Excellent food, in a lovely setting looking out across the dock water. The service is also excellent and friendly. The food is all freshly made and is just delicious. Writing this review I wish I was back there having another meal.

Reserved table was ready for us even though we arrived early. Great service - some of the party had to leave for the airport and they were quick to serve us. The food was excellent and the atmosphere superb. A great place to eat

We come to Liverpool twice a year to visit out daughter , we always come for dinner , it’s our very favourite restaurant , food is always delicious , staff are friendly and courteous .

We had a long day traveling to Liverpool and Lunyalita was a convenient refuge on a cold and wet evening. Our waitress was welcoming, articulate and friendly with a good knowledge of the menu. We chose Bread, oil & vinegar/Garbanzos/Patatas bravas/Chirizo/Manchego & membrillo/Chocolate ice cream, all of which were thoroughly enjoyed. We also chose the Tortilla which was stodgy and tasteless. If we visit Lverpool again we would eat at Lunyalita and take the opportunity to try the Sicilian almond cake! - Tripadvisor name "Luvelygrub"

We had a family reunion and I decided to go to Lunya in the Albert Dock. I have worked with The owners sister in law who was always talking about how good it is so I thought I would try it It was a lovely evening and sat outside. The service was very good and the food was delicious. I highly recommend it.

We came here for lunch before embarking on a cruise. The food was excellent and the lunch offer was very good value for money. We will definitely eat here again when we are next in Liverpool

Gorgeous tapas, amazing food & wine, and place I've been twice now and I'd definitely go a third time. If you go you have to try the Spanish-Scouse dish it's unique to say the least.

It was quite a cold restaurant! We were sat near tne door and a brick wall.....Service was also quite slow for food and drinks. Not sure if I'd actually go back. Value for money wasn't the best.....

Visited twice when spending 3 nights in Liverpool in March. All round experience is excellent. My daughter is gluten intolerant but had a great choice of dishes which she loved. Food and wine are delicious and service was superb, especially Mikey as front of house. He arranged a table upstairs on the second visit with a view over the dock. We loved it and will be back!

Thought this would be really good as we both love Spanish food (and spend a lot of time in Spain). Poor, poor choice. £100 for 2 of us including one beer and one glass of wine. Jambon Iberico was very nice. Chorizo is, well, chorizo. Mussels were poor. The prawns bear a striking similarity to those you get from Lidl in Spanish week. Calamari, to be fair, was very nice. The sliver of sea bass at £10 was a joke. The worst bit was the churros. I sewar they were identical to those you get frozen from Lidl. The friendliness of our waitress went from chilly to positively icy when hubby said they were not very good. To add insult to injury, when the bill came, not only did they want us to pay a 10% service charge, they also wanted us to agree to donate to a charity of their choice. If I want to donate to charity, I will donate to a charity of my choice. Hubby eats out every week with work whereas I get to go out maybe once every 4 months. I arrived really excited and left very, very disappointed.

Loved everything about this place. Excellent food, very tasty and freshly cooked. We chose 3 plates per person and barely managed to eat it all! Staff, particularly bar manager (I think!) brilliant, friendly and very efficient, recommend food and wine! Definitely be back.

This is a great place for an early dinner ahead of a show at the Arena. Very welcoming atmoshere and friendly staff. The food was quite delicious. I was only expecting something fairly ordinary, but waht was served was just a little bit special and it certinaly stands out as good. Very convenient and we will certainly be back

Good dinner, maybe expensive but i am from Italy and price are totally different. Everything was good and the service was really cool. Transylvania girl is really really kind and Cute with us (we were really drunk) and she know how to manage situation. Other girl preparing beer Is really professional. We really like the service, best in Town!

I would quite happily give the food 3/5 but adding a default charity charge to a bill as well as a tip is rude. It doesn't matter how much the charge is because they added a charge for a cancer charity of their choice and then provided a leaflet on the charity which is bad enough but when your partner's father has died from cancer the last thing you want to be reminded of on a family night out is the death of a parent. We had been having a great day out and the food was good but we will never visit this restaurant again. I would have given a tip but I asked for it to all be removed as adding charges so that you almost have no choice is rude.

Fantastic Tapas restaurant/bar. All the staff were really helpful. The food was outstanding and in a brilliant location overlooking the Albert dock. The food is a little pricey but well worth it. We have a teenage son who had never experienced Tapas before. He was full afterwards which takes some doing as anybody with a teenage boy will testify!

Had a fantastic meal at Lunyalita. Had a selection of tapas all fabulous . The goats cheese drizzled in honey was my favourite, my other half loved the stifado beef but ALL were great. We had the dessert platter to finish which was just sublime and meant we could taste them all. The basque cheesecake was just lush. Service was exceptional and friendly , lovely chatty staff made us feel very welcome. We will be back and thoroughly recommend.

We always head to Lunyalita for lunch when we are in Liverpool !! Great bottle of Fancy Pants Red Wine along with 4 tapas. Brilliant 🤩

Not traditional tapas, don’t bother. I’m home from overseas and my international hubby really wanted to go the Albert dock. I did pre warn him and tell him it’s overpriced and aimed at tourists but he wanted to go. Muller and Carter were fully booked so we came here… the “tapas” was not “real” tapas and definitely NOT tapas prices. For the price you pay you expect “fine dining/pretty/appealing plates” . I could have plated up better in my home kitchen. The pate looked like something my Nan would serve at Xmas Eve, £5 for 2 slices of plain sour Dough was absolute robbery, £5 for an ashtray of olives 🤣 and the FROZEN churros with fake chocolate sauce popped the cherry on the cake. The espresso martini was served in a TINY half espresso glass for £15?!?! Walk around the corner for 2 cocktails for £12.95 in a NORMAL size martini glass! £100 for the total bill and it was basic, council food nibbles. We actually tipped the server £10 on top of the bill because he was such a nice guy and very nice to us and we felt sorry for him because he was probably on minimum Wage.. if we had to tip the chef it would have been 0.00. If you want real tapas don’t go here. Do yourself a favour and walk into L1 and go into club house and get yourself a big meal, nice wine , cheaper cocktails and better surroundings for half the price! Sorry guys, you only got a 2 star review because of your waiter/ress.

We stayed nearby and visited this restaurant for coffee and again in the evening for dinner. Lovely atmosphere and pleasant professional staff. The tapas was very good and the cost was reasonable. If you are staying in Albert Dock do not miss this restaurant. Probably the nearest restaurant to Premier Inn and the Beatles Story

The place smells really bad, it seems like they do not have a kitchen fan. My friend and I went in for a drink, but we came back home with our clothes and hair smelling like fried food. In addition to this, we have had to pay service charge and charity donation without being asked first.

Me and my partner adore Lunya and lunyalita. We always go for our date nights because the food is amazing and the staff are so lovely. As someone who has lived in Spain, I was amazed at the different regional options of the wines and the specials too. I love the scouse crossover they do for their bravas. I recommend this restaurant to everyone when they ask for somewhere to eat in Liverpool.
