Lunasa has now closed on 10 August. This was a brave experiment located in a challenging downtown part of Belfast. We had a standing reservation for Friday nights and got to know Elena and Jokin and their wonderful staff. Their tapas was authentic and better than 99.99999% of any tapas we experienced in Spain. Lets hope they revive and continue

All the tapas favourites served in a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. The best type of comfort food, the cashel blue croquetas are to die for!

Super little tapas restaurant, off the beaten track but well worth a visit. Authentic tapas prepared by Spanish chefs and super friendly service, looking forward to a return visit!

Amazing tapas at great prices and delicious food. Casual cafe but great service and the Spanish couple who are the chefs know how to cook. It is also BYOB so it is a very cheap night.

I live in Belfast for 2 years and I just discovered Lunasa! We went there for a date. Actually the interior was not really amazing - simple and not really cozy, but food was AMAZING! We tried 8 tapas and majority of them were superior (garlic/butter prowns YUM YUM). The other great thing is u can bring your own drinks. Team working there are all smiley and kind people. We will defo come back!

We were very excited to discover Lunasa. Somewhere different to go,with tasty food, BYO and great value. Alas, subsequent visits have not been as enjoyable. Service can be very slow, on ocassions you have to go and ask for a menu and it can take up to an hour before any food arrives. Don't even think about phoning to make a reservation as bookings are made via Facebook and calls are not returned. Doors open at 6.30 on Saturdays evenings, and guess what, the staff arrive at 6.30 too. Not a great start to the evening. The quality of food is suffering, as the staff seem to be under so much pressure, but when it's good, it's good. We won't give up on Lunasa yet. It's certainly worth one more visit, but staff need to review the running of their establishment to make sure it's as successful as it can and should be.

There are lots of good things about this restaurant so I don't want to be too harsh. It is a small place with a nice atmosphere and it feels quite unique in Belfast. However when I went here with my friends the biggest issue was service. We sat for along time without anyone coming near us and we had to eventually go up and ask to be served. We had to ask for water twice, the food took a long time to come and we were never offered a dessert at the end. I think they were busy but they may be need more staff. The food is good but some parts of it seemed to be overheated/ dried out. There were some bits of chorizo that we couldn't cut through. I wonder if they might benefit from a smaller menu. The bill was only £15/each but in reality that didn't include drinks (it's byo) and I probably has the equivalent of one course only.

Visited this afternoon 3.30pm, we had a selection of tapas including tortilla, croquetas, fritura mista, fried aubergine with honey, serrano ham tomato & garlic sauce, all first rate served by owner/ chef, very quiet in terms of guests, but can imagine on a busy weekend nite the place would be buzzing, no charge for b. Y. O. Food good, service great, totally recommend this place, support this great eaterie, a great place for a grand repast at a very economical price.

Visited Lunasa on a Saturday night, the tapas were great - we ordered 8 small plates between two people. Very good value, a total of £20 and it's BYO. The staff are friendly and very helpful. Nice relaxed atmosphere. We will be back to sample more tapas!

Wonderful tapas, friendly, laid back staff; bring your own drinks... when we visited, there was so great local artwork for sale at the restaurant. I think they also have music sessions on occasion.

Food was okay nothing special, but if you are a big group of people they don't let order individual tapas, you have to order the shared tapas which is inconvenient.
