Luna Caffe in West Lothian

Was introduced to Luna Caffe as my family raved about it. Now every time I visit them I have to eat here. Amazing pasta, genuine friendly service and a truly local feel. I am slowly working my way through the menu and every dish has been tremendous. Dog friendly and BYOB so everyone is happy. Thank you so much to all the staff and I will see you again in September.

Visited twice within a couple of weeks because it was so good the first time…! Delicious and fresh food along with great service. It is also dog friendly too…! No comments or complaints at all, highly recommend.

What a find! A warm welcome from the waitress always helps and this lady was very friendly. The menu has a wide selection of Italian dishes, plenty of choice. There are also delicious cakes, biscuits and chocolates to take away. I would definitely eat here again but it’s best to book at busier times as the cafe is justifiably popular.

Luna Caffe is a lovely place! Every time I go to eat I try different things and they are super. Lasagne, parmigiana, scottish breakfast, sandwiches and a large selection of homemade cakes! Chiara and her staff are really amazing!

Being Italian I am always on the lookout for authentic Italian cuisine.... and I found it at Luna Cafe. Pasta is cooked as it should be, al dente, and the range of sauces is great.The pesto sauce is excellent, being from Liguria I feel entitled to vouch for it, and Chiara's baking is divine. This morning I tried a wonderful chocolate cake: it was still warm, fresh from the oven, very soft and light. I love the coffee. A fantastic place, lovely service and great atmosphere.

I used to order religiously from luna caffe when they used to do deliveries. I had tried lots of different food from them, and I had taken my mum in several times. After telling my partner about how much I loved their breakfasts, myself, him, and my mum, went along to have a lovely lunch. Staff are always so polite and so nice. Had delicious breakfasts and fresh cakes, and the coffee is delicious. I love sitting in their little cafe too, as it's so cute! Will definitely come back!

Came here with my partner and family for a lovely breakfast. I'd been told all about how delicious the food is here and happy to say that it didn't disappoint. The full breakfast was delicious and thank you to the staff who was lovely with my mother in law.

As the title suggests, this is such a beautiful cafe with a theme. The place is very well decorated and looked after. Weird but I really enjoyed how much care was put into the toilet facilities. As for the food, we had 3 full breakfasts which was enjoyed and devoured by all. Couldn't recommend enough.

I enjoyed my toast & poached eggs today 13/7/21, very well presented But was let down by our server, needed to ask for sugar after I received my tea also same with salt. Almond cake ordered was not one of ur best cakes. Very dry, couldn’t taste any almond. All in not very tasty. When told the server of this, no apology and said better not tell the person that made them. Not the best impression.

Fantastic place .....Kiara is the most wonderful host and the food is authentic and home made....quality place to eat.

Surprised my daughter with a birthday lunch today at Luna. Chiara, the owner, made a huge empire biscuit for her as they are her favourite cake. It was absolutely delicious! Our lunches were all perfect too, as always. Can't recommend it highly enough!

A wee hidden gem...amazing! Visited twice in early June. Both times the food and service were excellent. Very friendly service, COVID measures in place, highly recommend the Lasagne. Cant rate highly enough.

Cannot believe someone posted such a poor review . In my opinion this is someone who holds a grudge or has something to gain. Luna Cafe is amazing. Think just about everything Is home cooked except the tea bags! Staff are so well thought of in the community. It's a pleasure to go there and believe me I travel 15 miles to get there. Its immaculate and although small they have done everything they could to make you feel safe. See you again very soon.

Ordered a take away lasagne with salad, coffee and a chocolate brownie. This is simply the best lasagne I've ever had, authentic ingredients, big portion size and lovely salad with perfect balsamic dressing. Also, best coffee in the area and the brownies are amazing. Staff welcoming and friendly as always. Well worth a visit.

I took my mum and auntie to this cafe for my mum's birthday last year. We had a truly great and memorable experience. The afternoon tea deal was amazing - very cheap for a lot of tasty food. The owner and staff are passionate about ensuring guests are looked after and welcomed. Definitely worth a visit.

Great no frills Italian which, during the day does great coffee, proper hot chocolate, breakfasts, home made cakes, pasta e.g. 'proper' carbonara etc. We are lucky to have this wee gem of a place in our town. They have regional 'themed' nights about once a month & this was the best one so far. The tortellini in brodo in particular was outstanding. Hand made pasta filled with pork & mortadella in a home made chicken & beef bone marrow broth. Gorgeous.

Another great night at Luna, this months region being Tuscany. As usual place was packed & the food and service top notch. Especially loved the rich Tuscan beef stew with herby roast potatoes & the onion soup. These nights are great value with BYOB producing authentic rustic Italian food. Excellent.

We have never been before but we fancied a spot of lunch. This place is literally down the road from us and we have heard great things about it so thought we would pop in. I had the vegetable ciabatta whilst my husband had the breakfast. These were both amazing and tasted delicious! My husband was ecstatic with his tasty breakfast. We then had cake which was to die for! I want to try the hummingbird cake next time as it looked amazing and the scones looked so good too! The staff were so so friendly and lovely which is always nice. Thanks so much for a lovely lunch, it made our weekend! We will definitely be back!

We're regulars now to their monthly themed evenings & this was the best one yet. Great value & hearty Italian regional food. The capellini with sardines was excellent as was the rigatoni with aubergines, the arancini & the brilliant desserts as usual. Love it.

Another great themed night at the Luna. 6 dishes for £15. Great authentic regional Italian food. Great people & a full house on a Tuesday night. No wonder.

I’ve been to Luna Caffe a number of times with different groups of people. We’ve all been really impressed with the food and service and couldn’t recommend it enough! I particularly enjoyed the afternoon tea since you get a selection of the delicious cakes on offer. Can’t wait til my next visit!

Great coffee - Visiting family - Popped in for a quick coffee and cake - Couldn't believe I found proper Italian coffee and traditional home made "fatto a mano" cakes - the "Pastiera Napolitana" was out of this world - a pleasure to enjoy the real taste of Italy - the food menu looks very inviting - will definitely re-visit - Great service from the start to include provision of carafe of water & glasses immediately you sit down - a long way ahead of most of the other establishments in Bathgate and throughout the UK!! Thankfully such places still exist.

We were driving through Bathgate and saw the lights on and we were hungry so on a whim stopped to ask if they did breakfast.... This is the result!! Good tea! Very tasty! The place was steady business too so the locals think so too.

Always a good little spot for a decent coffee & cake during the day, once a month they do themed Italian regional food evenings, latest one being Calabria. 5 dishes for £15 - BYOB and no corkage. Hard to beat really. We loved the polpette di ricotta & the bergamot ice cream in particular. Pasta dishes good too - Farfalle with Nduja sausage very good. Friendly, helpful owners.

Was looking for somewhere new and in the town to have a coffee and found the Luna Caffe.

I visited today with a friend who is a regular and I absolutely was not disappointed.

What a great find this place is, went in for lunch 1 day and had a couple of pasta dishes, both very tasty, authentically Italian! Then returned the next day to try the breakfast and it was superb. Great quality food, warm attentive staff and at a reasonable price. Would highly recommend

I visited the Luna Caffe for the first time today with my family. Despite being 10 minutes past the cut-off, the owner happily took our order for three breakfasts. The food was freshly cooked, delicious and great value for money. They also serve terrific Italian coffee. The staff were friendly and the cafe itself was clean and tidy and felt welcoming. I will definitely visit the Luna Caffe again.

Popped into the Luna Cafe back in November for some breakfast. This was our first visit and on entry you could feel the nice vibe and chilled atmosphere. The staff were very warm and friendly and offered advice on both food and drinks. Ordered rolls on sausage both of which were served within 10 minutes, warm, tasty on nice rolls, would go back again. Through our visit the cafe was busy, lots of new people and people awaiting take away orders.

Scottish and italian food, all hand cooked and authentic with a few specialities thrown in for good measure, Cafe Luna harks back to the old traditional scottish-italian cafe, but now with a modern outlook and menu, the hosts are very welcome, the food quick and delicious, and the price very reasonable, its a wee gem, and a star of bathgates burgeoning cafe culture.

A friend of mine and I had lunch here and it was most enjoyable. The customer service is excellent as is the food and beverage. We were able to sit and chat and enjoy without feeling rushed. Will definitely return!

Having taken my car to be fixed , I had time to kill so stopped for a bite to eat, lovely hosts , fantastic food & no rush to leave , reasonable price as well.

Have recently started meeting friends at Luna, what was meant to be once a fortnight is now once a week as we've been made so welcome. I don't drink coffee but hear it is very good, I do enjoy their selection of Italian soft drinks and their food is very good. The cakes on offer are light and delicious, not heavy and overly (sickly) sweet as some cafe treats can be and there is a lovely variety. Bought a couple of little packs of their madeleines for my sons and they were devoured immediately, again, heavenly baking! I don't like that I have to say this place is a "cheap eat", it's inexpensive, great value but in no way would I describe it as "cheap" as it's such a good standard.

Luna caffè is a really lovely place. Excellent coffee, elaborate and sophisticated cakes. An excellent spot offering typical Italian specialities ( Try piadina most of all) served by kind helpful Italian staff. Highly recommendable. Don' t miss it!!!

Popped in for a quick bite, place was quite but busied up with take aways as I was there. I had coffee and a roll both of which were good and came quickly enough. Staff were friendly and attentive. Italian based with specialised baking on offer which looked good. The menu is based around star signs and planets which adds a wee tad of interest. This cafe is certainly worth a quick visit however would suggest they maybe supply a daily paper or two, there were some toys for kids but I found myself reading the menu to pass the time! Would I go back and try one of their lunches? Yes!!

Just visited here and it’s a great find, my go to from now on. The coffee was excellent but the peach cake was to die for. The service was excellent too. Can’t wait till my next visit.

This is a lovely local cafe, with a good range of breakfasts, lunches and cakes/pastries. Fantastic Italian coffee. All freshly cooked on site, with friendly service and new cake options served each day. A very good cafe - recommended.

Got my breakfast and dinner for the wife and kids. Great food and very inviting. My kids love going and keep asking to go back! Only if my wallet never ran out of money!
