Another great meal at The Terrace. Well done to Rihanna for her attentive service. A brilliant place for students to learn on the job and we will return again soon.

We had a fantastic buffet style lunch here. Not something we'd usually go for but that was the only choice on the day but we're so glad that it was. Starter, main and pudding all fantastic. The brisket and salmon were cooked to perfection and the chocolate brownie was exceptional. Special mention also to the tartare sauce, which I normally avoid. Staff brilliant. Only learning but they were so eager to please. Great lunch.

Went there for lunch with my friend 18th March. Flawless service from start to finish. Food was amazing. Couldn't fault anything about my lunch. Staff were lovely and very attentive. Would absolutely recommend for a great dining experience, you won't be disappointed.

We decided to go last minute as there was a cancellation. Best decision ever! The menu was mouth watering, as was the food. It far exceeded my expectations. The setting was nice & relaxed & the staff very attentive. 100% recommended!! Treat yourself & get booked in!!!

On a trip back home to Scotland the tasting menu at the Terrace Restaurant was recommended by a family member. We were not disappointed. The whole evening was relaxed and fun. The service was impeccable and the food outrageously good! A big well done and congrats to all staff and students involved, it really was a foodie tour de force.

I have been to the terrace restaurant a few times and always really enjoy the very high quality of service and food. The food is very high quality and the students and staff are very kind and very approachable. I am always excited to try new foods and know the terrace restaurant will make them perfectly!

Went tonight to celebrate our sons 16th birthday. Cannot fault the service, atmosphere or the food. Worth every penny. Audrey and her team go above and beyond to make sure everything is spot on. Very professional personal service and what value for money!!!

The 6 course taster menu is fantastic value for money and the food is amazing quality beautifully presented. It’s hard to believe the staff are still learning their craft with the quality they produce. If you haven’t booked already give your taste buds a treat, you will definitely want to return again and again…..roll on the 15th.

My wife and I were lucky enough to get a table for the Xmas tasting event on 2nd December. The food was truly excellent and it was obvious how much care and attention to detail the students and tutors had put in assembling the lovely meal. We wish all the students every success in their careers.

My daughter and I visited The Terrace 21/10/21. It was a 6 course tasting menu and it was faultless. From start to finish every course was excellent and the service was 1st class. The young chefs came out after the last order and spoke to every table. They asked for constructive criticism. There was nothing to criticise. My daughter and I have dined in many 1st class restaurants around the world and this food was up there with the best. Congratulations to all involved.

After a long period of anticipation....this gem of a restaurant is finally open again. This evening we had a stunning 6 course tasting menu.....the venison course was the star of the show which included an exquisite parsnip and vanilla puree! Unbelievable value for money......

Went on a Thursday evening, arrived a little early and the staff were having problems getting the door to the Restaurant to open, had a bit of banter with the staff which was fun. Once in, our coats were taken, we were seated promptly & introduced to our waiter. This was our waiters first evening serving Customers & he was so nervous. Had some minor issues; having to repeat orders/requests & a drink was spilt over my daughters lap as the tray carrying the drinks became unbalanced. However we played it down & explained it could happen to anyone, we were really willing our waiter to be a success. The atmosphere was quite nice & the layout of the restaurant was good. The food was excellent & plentiful. Could barely eat the last 2 courses. The only course I didn't really enjoy was the sweet course, but I'm sure it went down well with chocoholics! I enjoyed my first visit & would definitely consider going back. At £20.00 per head, it was very good value for money.

We are just back but I felt that I have to let everyone know how wonderful the Valentines Meal was. I have tasted so much tonight that was great., Cheese Fondue, Calamari, three different types of beef, three different types of chocolate and chocolate strawberries!! Wonderful evening, great staff and a ridiculously cheap price compare to other allegedly superior restaurants. Shame on them...... The Terrace is the best restaurant in West Lothian without doubt. Cannot wait until our next visit which will be very soon......, Congratulations to all staff....

This is a great find where you would least expect it. Thoroughly enjoyed jolly good food in a jovial atmosphere but which was also very professional. My only comment would be that if you are going to provide amuse-bouches, palate cleansers etc you need to reduce the portions. Puddings were too large. Would definitely go again.

It had been a while since we last dined at The Terrace Resaurant. They have become better known in recent times and with the online booking facility it is proving increasingly difficult to get a booking at short notice. We however heard through a social media website that the restaurant was going to be presenting a special 'Taste of France' Dinner Tasting Menu one night in early December so we made a point of booking a table for two as soon as reservations were open. We had no difficulty in doing so, possibly because the full price of £30 per head had to be paid when making the booking. It must surely have been encouraging for the students that the restaurant was fully booked that evening.There were 5 courses on the fixed menu and all were extremely good with the possible exception of the main course. We started with Duck and Pork Terrine (excellent), followed by cured Scottish Salmon, then Grilled Goats Cheese (excellent). If there was one course that was a bit below par it was the main course of Roast Turkey with some of the usual trimmings. I found the turkey to be a bit dry and chewy. The dessert that followed, Sugar Glazed Lemon Tart , however hit another high point. It was lovely. The meal was finished with Almond Macarons and tea or coffee. If there was a downside to the meal for us it was probably because of the location of our table as we were invariably the last to be served. When it came to the coffee at the end of the meal we had to wait over 10 minutes to be served, and this was after asking three different servers for our coffees.

i went here for a meal one day when i had nothing to do. first of all the resteraunt was disfunctional with pictures hanging half off the wall. i then sat down and was horrified that i had to wait 50 min before i got my drinks order taken by a stranger that was wearing bumbelbee costume on i was quite confused but my dog herby was loving it. i ordered a pizza that i had to wait 2 hours for and then to my horror i was met with rather large plate containing 1 jam covered digestive with cheese next to it honestly a disgracful service as every couple of minuites i had to dodge a glass that would be thrown by the ferral children that were running the resteraunt.

As always... Food was superb and staff excellent... that’s why we keep going back... already booked for next month and for Christmas lunch..💖💖

Had a lovely meal at the Terrace Restaurant today. It was the first day that they opened to the public in this Academic Year and everything was running smoothly. The food was delicious, my husband had Chicken Chasseur for his main course and I had Salmon en croute. We were served by Scott who was extremely attentive, friendly and professional. We'll be back again soon.

Arrived to be greeted by the Hospitality students from the College, creating a fabulous atmosphere - a very professional group of 1st Year students settling us in and making sure we were very comfortable at our table. A quite superb menu for the evening, giving plenty of choice to suit every preference. We were overwhelmed by the quality of the food, service and venue, proving that the College have rightfully earned their reputation as one of the very best restaurants in the region. Cannot recommend this highly enough, simply superb!

Absolutely first class meal at The Terrace restaurant this evening. Pork main course was delicious as were the salmon and risotto starters. The food was top quality and would not have been out of place in a top restaurant - and was exceptionally good value. Well done to everyone - we will be back if we can get booked in!

Booked the Terrace restaurant for lunch with a group of friends as I'd heard a lot about this place, with students doing both the kitchen and front of house.

Had an excellent meal last night at the Terrace restaurant. West Lothian College. There was plenty of choice on the menu.

It was great to be offered a comprehensive gluten free menu from friendly staff who were keen to help

My wife and I visited the Terrace for a pre Easter lunch and for the umpteenth time we had a wonderful meal.

A lovely menu and beautiful food which is very nicely presented. Fabulous value. I have had two business dinners at the Terrace Restaurant this month and cannot rate it highly enough. Service was superb and the commitment and enthusiasm of the students and staff is very evident. I am now planning another business dinner there.

I attended an Influencers Dinner held by the college and this was situated in the Terrace Restaurant. It was a lovely evening and the food and service could not be faulted.

Just had an amazing evening tasting whisky at an event hosted at Terrace Restaurant. Whisky paired with amazing tasters. The event was so relaxed and friendly. Staff (as usual) were so attentive and the evening was such fun. Thank you to all involved. Please do more nights like this, absolute hit!

What a fantastic wee restaurant. Not surprised you have to book well in advance. Food was brill and you get a lot on your plate. It’s a college training restaurant but I can honestly say it the best food I’ve had in a long time. The students were helpful and polite. Highly recommend and will be going back soon. The prices are amazing we got 4 courses for £10!!! Choice of 3 starters/mains, 2 desserts then tea or coffee.

On first visit my expectations of this college training restaurant were exceeded. Amazing food, quality outstanding. Menu changeable which is great for returning diners to taste different styles of cuisine. 5 star service professional, friendly and attentive. The restaurants online booking system was easy to nativagate. The tuna steak i ordered was delicious and flavoursome. The trio of lamb I had was succlulant and cooked to perfection Normally a fussy eater my son aged 10 yrs but he questioned nothing on his plate and ate it all. Enjoying and commenting on how much he was enjoying it. He loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. was over the moon. A must place to book if looking for quality food, and service. Don't get me started on the value this restaurant has to offer...second to none on value. I would have happily and definately had paid more. I will definately be a returning quest. Well done to all the trainee students you all did yourselves proud. I wish I had taken more pictures.

Yet another rip roaring amazingly fabulous evening at the Terrace. Please remember this food is cooked by students as in not professional chefs!!!! I had the lamb. One of the 3 types of lamb was liver. It didn’t say that on the menu so I was a bit nervous when I saw it as I’m not a fan. I ATE EVERY BIT. It was spectacular. However the show stopper tonight was the tuna starter. It’s my joint favourite dish that I’ve had from the Terrace in all the time we’ve been going which is more than 2 years now. It was perfect. It was like eating a steak. The flavour shocked me it was so good. It was just fabulous. I would have licked the plate if I could have. I didn’t want them to take the plate away. My other half did lick his crepe georgette bowl!!! I paid what is effectively penny’s-for the best food you can find anywhere in West Lothian and I cannot stress to you enough how much you should go. BOOK NOW. Please bring back Friday night

Went for Christmas lunch with my husband, sister and sister-in-law, and we all loved it! Great food, beautifully presented. The Arran mustard ice cream in the salmon starter was a particular favourite! Students serving us were very polite and attentive. We will definitely return in the new year!

Oh my goodness definitely worth a visit. 10 ladies from our flower club visited the restaurant,some for the first time, today and had a fantastic Christmas lunch. We were welcomed at the entrance,to the restaurant. Plenty of space at our table and in the restaurant. The table was set out beautifully. The menu detailed the choices, big problem I wanted everything on the menu oh such a hard choice. Every course was beautifully cooked and served so well by the lovely students. West lothian college must be so proud of their lecturers and most importantly their students. We will be back, can't wait

My husband and I enjoyed a very tasty Christmas lunch today. Every attention to detail is taken care of. The trainees are polite, friendly and hardworking. Our server (Chloe) was attentive and friendly.

What a hidden gem this place is! It's hard to believe that college students are cooking and presenting the food you receive. We were there for lunch and were given a menu of 3 choices for starter (£2), 3 choices for main (£5) and 2 choices for dessert (£2). Soft drinks were £1 and bottled beer was £3. Our waiter was Alan who was an absolute star - very attentive and happy to answer questions. Our food was brought out quickly - it not only looked amazing but tasted absolutely delicious also. I had mushroom arancini with a tomato + red pepper sauce to start then pollock on a bed of leeks with sliced roast potatoes for main, I was too full for dessert but they looked amazing. The restaurant manager (Audrey) is lovely and very accommodating. We found out that the waiters/waitresses are studying to be chefs but part of their training is to understand what it's like being front of house. We were also made aware that many people who book do not call to cancel if they can't make it - this is frustrating not only to the restaurant but also for those who try to book but can't get any availability. I will definitely recommend this restaurant to others and hope to return again soon.

My church group had a lovely early Christmas lunch last week. The food and service was amazing.

Amazing food presented wonderfully in a relaxed and comfortable setting, was an unexpected last minute thing and we will for sure be back again, just brilliant!

Another great experience for lunch with the family and again we had super meals. The food was beautifully presented and well served by the students. Every one of the party said that this was one of the best meals yet and congratulated the staff concerned. Well done Livingston College Restaurant. But sadly two tables reserved for lunch were “no shows”. Shame on the guilty parties.

Family of 5 went for 3 course lunch for £10, the food was amazing and excellent value for money. I tried fried capers for the first time today and they were so tasty as I don’t usually like them when in a sauce, so really surprised. We all chose something different on the menu & there wasn’t a bad dish in them. The waitress Tyler was very professional and friendly. We have booked to go back for the Christmas menu next month.

We regularly visit this restaurant which is run Professionally despite being at the catering college. The students are well supervised and staff are always on hand for any hiccups. Three course lunch costs £10 and a small bottle of wine less than £3 so it is good value.the food is interesting and they will happily sort out dietary problems such as gluten free etc. The biggest problem we have is trying to get a table.

My wife and I were delighted a few weeks ago when we secured a booking for lunch for the Terrace Restaurant and the day finally arrived.

Just had lunch at the Terrace Restaurant. Has been a few years since our last visit and I was very pleased to see that the very high standards of foods, ingredients and service have all been maintained. The variety of dishes on the menu is excellent. The food is very well prepared and presented in such a professional manner. All staff are excellent (although obviously still learning) - they are very attentive and helpful at all times. Well done to you all.

Had a beautiful lunch at this restaurant yesterday. Everything was freshly cooked, well presented and tasty. They would not have been out of place in a four star restaurant. Can't wait to go back.

This was our first visit here, definitely won't be our last.

The food here is of high restaurant quality. For starters I had the French onion soup which was absolutely delicious and my husband and son both went for the chicken croquettes, garlic aioli and baby gem lettuce which both thoroughly enjoyed. For mains I had trout meunière, crushed new potatoes and French beans and other 2 had beef stroganoff, basmati rice with roasted potatoes. All main dishes were a treat and a bargain at £5.00 each!!!! We were all so full that we had to refuse desserts but will definitely be returning and hope to try them then. We were on a shopping trip at the designer outlet and the restaurant is only a 5 minute walk from there.

Our meal was excellent! The food was VERY good. Cooked and presented as well as any restaurant. A good selection of options for each course. I hope the chefs and front of house staff keep up the good work 👍

It is perhaps fitting that this, my 1000th TripAdvisor review is for our favorite local restaurant. We recently visited the Terrace Restaurant for lunch along with two friends who had never dined there themselves. All four of us were delighted with the food and service. The students all did themselves proud.

Another wonderful lunch at The Terrace Restaurant with 4 family members. The menu was special and we sampled all dishes. No complaints at all from any of us, each dish was lovely and beautifully presented. Quite an experience and one we will be repeating without doubt and with great expectation. Well done Audrey and students. Keep up the great work. Very well done.

We had a lovely meal with my mum in law. The appetizer options included soup, a tart or a salad. The mains included lamb, fish and quorn bolognese. Desserts included a syllabus, citrus tart and a Eton mess.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Bearing in mind this is a teaching restaurant, its presentation is top notch, well thought through menu, great tasting choices, and good service. All that before we even mention the price! Booking recommended as it gets busy.
