Jammy dodger blondie was absolutely beautiful. Very tasty and well made, my son had a cake milkshake which was extremely good value. Friendly staff.

Based on the rave reviews I have read, I could not wait to try a pasty from Lucy Bakes on the first day of my holiday. Sadly, I was bitterly disappointed: pastry was dry but the contents were even drier. I went around 10am and wonder if it had been yesterday’s reheated pasty. I can honestly say, never again.

After seeing lots of recommendations, I thought I would take a trip to Lucy Bakes. Sadly I was so disappointed, firstly I was waiting to be served and I could see one staff member out the back chatting to fellow colleagues. After 5 minutes I was eventually served, the staff member did not acknowledge the fact I had been waiting despite the shop not being busy. I ordered some sausage rolls, I can honestly say I have never tasted something so disgusting. The meat inside them tasted raw and fatty. Waste of money for something that went in the bin after one bite.

We originally found Lucy after seeing comments on Facebook. We’re lucky as live within twenty minutes of the best and wouldn’t go anywhere else now. Wonderful pastry with tender juicy meat and lots of filling. The frozen pasties cook up just as good if you want them for another day. Just remember to order first. The cakes are pretty good too.

As a 70 year old couple living in exile in South Devon what a enjoy to find Lucy. Properly crimped tasty pasties. ( Had Devon one once never again.) If you book in advance Lucy will have your pasties waiting for you so you can bring your supply back home to freeze down to enjoy until the next visit. Well done keep up the good work. PROPER JOB.

I have the pleasure of being close enough to be able to visit this fantastic little bakery often. Always a delight and never hit and miss always good. The pasty’s are in my opinion the very best around with lots of delicious well balanced filling and perfect pastry. I have not had lots of the tray bakes as being a home baker myself I do a lot of my own traybakes but the ones I have had from Lucy,s bakery are delicious and morishly tempting. A real treat to have a proper home baking shop on the doorstep. Lucy is an inspiring baker and I really hope her business goes really well as she certainly deserves it.👍

When you come to Cornwall on holiday, there is a must, pasty tasting !! and we have eaten quite a lot in our 38yrs of holidays here! but nothing has ever come near to these beauties! melt in the mouth buttery pastry, juicy packed filling and then there's the sausage rolls and cakes ! We book ours to make sure we get one each as they are sold out very quickly, hopefully we may be able to get some frozen bake at home to share ? with family.

This is as good as it gets. The real deal, beautifully hand crafted by Lucy. Generous portion of meat, well seasoned veg, golden, shortcrust pastry and the juicy, caramelised bottoms if you’re lucky enough for a little juice to have leaked out during the bake. They are the pasty you’d dream of making at home if you could. The gourmet sausage rolls are filled with quality sausage meat, not a sliver of paste, but have girth with a heavenly flakey pastry! The cakes are awesome, with great variety and the bespoke celebration drip cakes are stunning. Unfortunately, I work in the building next door, so have to temper my enthusiasm to one day a week so I don’t pop.

Lucy is an amazing baker; her pasties and sausage rolls are delicious. One of the best in Cornwall and definitely my first choice. I’ve never had a bad item and I have tasted extensively! Mint choc brownies, biscoff millionaires, Battenberg cake and Bailey Pecan blondies are just a few favourites.

Hands down the most authentic homemade Cornish pasties that you can buy. Been informed a family recipe and it shows! Also a big win is the steak pasties/Sausage rolls are made with no Dairy meaning someone like myself who is dairy intolerant can enjoy with no worry. The juiciest, tastiest pasties in town!

Food turned up, soggy wet and greasy and all stuck together in one big lump. Quite un-edible. Toast was soggy and undercooked, really disappointed after spending a lot of money such poor quality food

So sad if it’s true they are closing this St Ives branch of their 3 stores. Sad if the town is making business too expensive to run. Thankfully they do delivery, adds about £1 per pasty. Their vegan pasty has the biggest variety of vegetables inside. I love buying few to take home and freeze each May when the St Ives Food Festival is on. St Ives has the biggest selection of pasty shops with such variety of fillings and pastries, both savoury and dessert. By the time you eat from stalls on the beach of the food festival, have a fruit and custard pasty or amazing cakes for breakfast and a savoury pasty or eat out at fantastic fish restaurants for dinner, just accept you will come home several pounds heavier. Next year i had planned to ask Pengs to have several vegan pasties frozen for me take home. At least i hope they return to St Ives with a stall on the beach for the next May festival. In fact i wish all the pasty shops would get together to have tasting trays of their pasties, on the one stall on the beach festival. It’s just impossible to get thru them all in 3 days. And Pengs will be most missed.
