Lucky Star Chinese Takeaway in Barrow-in-Furness

Not been in Dalton long. Found Lucky Star on line, looked through extensive menu and ordered food for 2 adults and 2 kids. Paid online ( bonus ) and was told 45 minutes,which is reasonable. Knock on the door 20 minutes later ( yes, 20 mins ) from the lady at LS with our order. Great service, huge choice, generous portions,great price

Ordered large s+p munch box and arrived within 30 mins and was all very nice, would definitely order again, great value for money

The food was very tasty! We were able to pick the food less than 35 mins after ordering (Thursday evening) and the quantities were very generous!

Lovely freshly prepared take away. Beef in Oyster sauce was ‘lush’ Arrived quickly and super hot.

Amazing local Chinese takeaway with very friendly owners. We have been going to this takeaway for over a year and never had a bad meal.

That was a little bit of a mix-up with dropping off my takeaway. It was resolved over the phone within half an hour. Absolutely excellent service understanding and if there was a mistake they rectified it

After a disastrous previous delivery I thought I would give lucky star another chance and yes another bad service, had an item missing from order, tried phoning but line dead, no other way to contact them. Terrible service won’t be buying again.

If I could put 0 star I would. I ordered on barrow eats and ten minutes before it was due I received an email saying “cancelled”. I tried to phone several times to find out why, when I finally spoke to someone I was told I had to collect as they had tried to phone. When I tried to explain why that wasn’t possible the “lady” on the phone just hung up and refused to answer again. I’m now out £30 and have to wait 5 working days for a refund, if that even comes. Will not be ordering again!

Cash only but not clearly stated. Staff very short and hardly welcoming. Meat tasteless and some was chewy. Crispy duck soggy and also tasteless. Will try again with different selection.

Would absolutely not recommend for home delivery. Twice now I've said I'm not getting delivery again but I thought by now it might of improved (the time it takes) however I was very wrong. I was told 40/50 minutes. I called them after 60. Got told ten minutes. Called them again 20 minutes later, was told ten minutes. I called them again almost HALF HOUR later and was told they were waiting on delivery man. I then called 20 minutes later AGAIN to be told it was coming "now" (I'm geographically- in a car- 60 seconds away), I then rang once more to be told they were waiting for a delivery man. The food turned up in just over TWO hours. Stone cold in a matter of minutes as it was kept warm in a warmer. Totally not the delivery drivers fault. Definatly won't be ordering again for delivery from here.

A mistake was made on ordering which I missed when they repeated the order but they replaced it anyway. The food was really fresh and tasty. Far better than most takeaways I've ordered from. We highly recommend and will definitely be back. Superb!

Had chicken satay sticks from here tasted awful weird taste as well. The sauce was rank which is a shame as this was my favourite place for a Chinese but seems to have gone downhill.

Almost 2 hours late, and they were very rude on the phone. Food was okay, but not worth the wait.

I ordered two hours ago when the site said it would take one. Two hours for one meal and it's still not here. Tried calling but they've got the phone off the hanger.

If I could give 0* I would, this is possibly the worse place for a take out, it arrived late and was stone cold, it was an absolute abismal meal if you would call it that, I will not be visiting again and I would warn others that it isn't worth the money, bland food which is just depressing, ribs which were just fat, it all just went straight in the bin, I feel like I have been robbed of my money. The chef seriously needs to give his head a wobble if he thinks he's making quality food.

Absolutely abysmal. Ordered at 7:30pm, still not here at 10pm, they’ve taken the phone off the hanger so you cannot phone to even ask about your orders whereabouts or call if there’s any mistakes/missing items. This is the second time this has happened but gave them the benefit of the doubt.

Ordered at 7:15 and still no sign of food at 9:30 so I went to the shop myself to be told they were just making it now, food was good when it came eventually but the wait is a joke

We had mushroom curry and noodles, chips and hot and sour soup. All really tasty and flavoursome. Not too salty like other takeaways. Highly recommended!!

Just had our Chinese delivered from here and I have to say it was incredible! Best sweet and sour pork I've had! Food was fresh, delicious and we will 100% be making this our go to Chinese restaurant.

Picked up a chicken satay from here tonight. No idea what it was, but it was definitely not chicken satay. It was literally chicken, onions, peppers covered in weird flavourless slime. I called to check what it was, and they assured me it was correct. No exaggeration, it was completely inedible.

This was the only Chinese in dalton I would go to however, an order has just taken 2 hours to get here and the attitude of the new guy was absolutely disgusting!!! No apology, he had the absolute audacity to have a go at me and speak to me like dirt on the bottom of his shoe. Would not let me speak to anyone else, his behaviour is absolutely disgraceful and they should be ashamed of themselves to be frank. Poor delivery guy is lovely though!

Ordered a Chinese earlier and it was missing 2 egg fried rice tried ring 38 times to no answer then when I finally got through they gentleman put they phone down 😐

Got 3 different meals, Food was not nice at all, very bland and didn’t enjoy, didn’t taste horrendous just didn’t really taste of much at all unfortunately.

Food was delicious it was our first time ordering it arrived hot very tasty good value for money my only concern was the amount of onions in the house curry replacing meat but that's just nit picking overall would definitely recommend this takeaway

Tried the food here last weekend, the first time since they reopened. Really nice food, lighter and fresher than our usual Chinese, and really very tasty. Excellent chips and curry sauce, which we all know is the cornerstone of a good Chinese take away!! Highly recommended.

Can anyone tell me why they charged me £5 delivery from Dalton to Lindal,🤔 won't bother again

I was super excited to see that the takeaway formerly known as The Castle Takeaway was reopening under new management, so me and my family all decided to get a meal in. Lucky Star EXCEEDED all of our expectations. We had Honey Chilli Shredded Beef, Orange Chicken, and Singapore Chow Mein. All the food is reasonably priced and incredibly delicious. Highly recommend!
