Lucky House Chinese Food in Cardiff

First time ordering from this establishment, never again . Where do I start .First sack your chef they suck . Spicy chips - no spice and cold . Egg fried rice - no egg . Beef curry , 5 small pieces of beef and bland tasting .sweet and sour chicken balls , mediocre. Chicken chow mean ... when I say mean I mean no taste flakes of chicken . But the spare ribs , well use your imagination. Spare I mean sparse.

The bad reviews worried me at first, but after a year of eating from here, there’s only been a couple times where the food was “average,” the rest of the time though, the food is just like most other Chinese local takeaways - so happy :) Thanks guys!

Incredible cuisine. It's been ages since I've had a satisfying Chinese meal, but this experience was truly exceptional. I indulged in mouthwatering dumplings, delectable Singapore noodles with rice noodles, and succulent chicken balls. Lucky House has officially become my ultimate destination for authentic Chinese delicacies.

After waiting nearly two hours the food arrived Luke warm, cardboard chips , meat dishes really dry. Unedible. I phoned the shop and asked them to pick it up, I was offered a £3 refund and the phone was put down on me when I refused and asked for it to be picked up. Would not recommend to a dogs home

Boiled rice and can of coke was the best things,prawn curry weren’t particularly nice way too much onion than prawns,pineapple fritter was soggy and a tiny drop of syrup,prawn toast was edible and £23 for this was well overpriced wouldn’t order from here again

We didn’t expect much before we got the food. As a Chinese takeaway restaurant, their food is actually quite nice. We tried their Fried Singapore Noodles, Salt and Pepper Ribs, and House Special Curry were flavorful delights. The King Prawn with Salt and Pepper, Chilli and Black Bean Sauce Duck, and Egg Fried Rice. They were all tasty. Top it off with a friendly delivery service, and it's a winner!

We ordered food from here we ask for no chilli in the chips(salt and pepper chips) as my partner is allergic to chilli and it was chilli in there the curry was runny and very spicy . Egg fried rice I could have cooked better myself Overall terrible meal won’t order again. (We thought we would try a new Chinese) wish we didn’t now!!

We ordered a house special curry, a house special fried rice and pancake rolls. Having eaten and had take aways around the world I can honestly say that tonight's take away was up there with the all time greats! Fantastic service and delivered exactly on time by the nicest delivery guy. This place is truly awesome and I'd recommend it to anyone. Home made, authentic, tasty cuisine at its best. Thank you

Delivery didn't turn up. Called them and the woman we spoke to ignored our questions and hung up on us, then cancelled the order without telling us after we'd waited an hour already.

Very tasty food a nd where its says a meal for 1 it is more like a meal for two. Have never had anything less than a five star meal there

Nice food, had a few different dishes (egg fried rice, chow mein, chicken curry, spring rolls), all good quality.

Ordered on UberEats and it was honestly disgusting and such a disappointment. The meat was so fatty and gross, everything tasted like burnt oil, was stale and had no proper flavour and the sweet and sour sauce was like oil. The egg fried rice had no egg and the chips were literally dripping condensation. Never again would I eat here 🤢

Got a delivery via just eat. Food was great, hot and nice portions. My only downside was I ordered crispy noodles with veg. Which came in a sauce so wasn't crispy at all. If it had stated that on the just eat website I would have chosen something different. Will definitely try different dishes again.

Ordered both a King prawn and beef chow mein, both bland and not resembling anything like Chinese style. Tray box of hot & spicy chips and prawn toast, consisted of plain chips on a bed of onions, whilst making the prawn toast chewy and soft. Salt and pepper chicken was neither salty or peppery, and mainly consisted of white and spring onions to fill out the box. Overall a disappointment to finish off my first nights visit to Cardiff.

I don't think I've ever left a bad review but I am so disappointed after all the good reviews I have to leave one, unfortunately. The only reason I gave two stars is because well...it was quick and edible. But it has not much to do with Chinese kitchen, absolute tasteless but extremely salty. Very disappointing.

Ordered a delivery from here twice now. The food arrived reasonably quickly and was hot and fresh. Very tasty, good portion sizes and generous amounts of meat in the fried rice dishes. They even added an extra ingredient, pineapple, to my duck fried rice after I requested it!

Chow Mein was bland and chips dry not big enough portions for what you pay for not good

First time ordering from here and I must say it’s the nicest food I have had in a long time! The food wasn’t greasy and it was nice, hot and delivered before time.... definitely order from here again. This will be my go to place now. Thanks Lucky House 😋

Absolutely fantastic Chinese. I Used to go to yummy yummy that was there before it closed down and loved that place. Tried loads of different local chinese takeaways in the long time it wasn’t opened but found them all pretty bad tbh. This has become my new local since it’s opened and it’s fantastic. Food is amazing, if you’re a fan of proper Chinese takeaway curry sauce like me then you’ll love this place. I’d thoroughly recommend the roast pork curry 😍😍 I’d eat it every day if I could. They are so accommodating aswell, I’ve ordered their set menu a couple of times and they are happy to swap and change dishes without any hassle. Even their stir fried mixed vegetables taste really nice and I’m not usually a big veg fan but after having it a couple of times in a set menu it’s now part of any order I make. You can tell it’s all fresh ingredients. My latest Takeaway I got there this evening I asked for them to reduce the salt in my chicken, ginger and spring onion dish as I’m having a few stomach problems and they halved the salt no questions asked. Mad thing is it still tastes waaaay better than all their local competition with half the salt 😂 I always collect and never tried their delivery service so review based on that. Only thing I still think is odd is they offer you some free popadoms if you order a certain amount but just seems a bit weird as that’s Indian cuisine. Maybe not weird I guess just makes me laugh 😜

Nice little Chinese food was hot and tasty

Just had a takeaway from here and it was delicious, this was formally "yummy yummy" and the food was delicious then, but he closed down and months and months went by and I tried other chinees takeaways but couldn't find the taste and good and quality....but now "LUCKY HOUSE " has opened and I've tried a variety of dishes today and everyone came out 5 star.. this is a must if you want good Chinese food, the takeaway is very clean and modern and best of all quality and tasty food, a definitely a must if you like chinese food, you will not be disappointed!!!!!!!
