Honest Burgers in Cardiff

Having been to Honest Burger in Bristol before we finally decided to head to the one in Cardiff. When we got there we decided to see their current collaborative items on the menu and was very impressed good food and good drinks with good service.

Spot on everytime. Food and staff are fantastic at this restaurant! We go regularly and it’s never a fuss to show up, get seated and you’re eating shortly after!

We were pleasantly surprised by honest burgers. We went on New Year’s Eve and we were a large group with children. The staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble to assist our young eaters with their requests. They were amazing regarding allergens as we had a few. The food was Amazing!!! Everyone loved their meals and we all had full belly’s!!

Went with the family whilst shopping for Christmas, bit of a wait for a table but we hadn’t booked and they were clearly busy, service was attentive and friendly but not ott, recommend the smashed burger, so tasty

This was my second time visiting and sad to say I got served a raw chicken burger, unfortunately I didn’t realise until about half way through so just waiting to see if I get food poisoning just in time for Christmas. Incredibly disappointing and I won’t be visiting again. How a burger restaurant can serve this is beyond me.

Our party of nine people visited on Saturday night before going to a gig at the arena. At first when we were shown to our table downstairs I was a little worried however our server soon put my worries to one side with her happy smiling approach to her job. She took our orders and joined in with the banter and laughter on the table. We mocked one of our group about his indecision and asked if there was a menu available in crayon for him...several moments later she came back with some crayons and a colouring in sheet for him....absolutely superb customer interaction. The food, fantastic...great choice, excellent quality and enough of it to not feel the need for a takeaway after the gig! Would I go back.....yes without a doubt.

The festive menu was absolutely lovely. The gravy was some of the best I've ever had. Would come back just for the gravy alone!

We had our works Christmas meal here. Service was very quick for 15 of us. The food was awesome and everyone enjoyed.

One of the best places for a burger in the centre of Cardiff. Great service and very reasonable in price. Staff are friendly and efficient and quick service. Burgers are made to order. I had the beef Christmas burger which was so delicious. Access is direct from outside with no steps so easy for those with mobility issues to enter. Will definitely be back next month. Very good quality burgers and a major step up from the usual and common burger fast food chains. You get what you pay for!

First time we've visited, at first it felt rather cold in there, took a while for us to take our coats off. Brrrr Meal arrived, we ordered the £20 Christmas Meal Deal inclusive of drink and side dish. Sadly there were no onion rings, so we both opted for the coleslaw. The burger was cooked to perfection, I'd asked for the bacon to be crispy, and would it be possible to have a little pot of jalepenos. All requests were met. As already stated, the burger and relish etc, were gorgeous, but I have to say the chips were absolutely outstanding! The one thing I hate is waste, so to be served a MASSIVE portion of coleslaw each was a shame as we just couldn't eat it. One portion would've been more than enough for two and I'm a hearty eater, so that's saying something! Maybe smaller portions of coleslaw and more fries! 😁 Staff were friendly and service was prompt and flood served lovely and piping hot, happy to add, that all was freshly cooked! There was an area manager in who I had a little chat with, was a nice experience, all in all a lovely eatery, but please put the heating on, it's horrid weather in Cardiff lately. Couple of things I'd like to add: When paying good money, I'd have liked the option of a glass for my drink, instead of a straw in a can - it felt a bit 'burger van'. Also being a wheelchair user, had great difficulty getting in and out of the venue. The door was way too heavy to open on my own, plus there was a small lip on the threshold that made it really difficult to get over without the door swinging back on to me, plus with it being a heavy glass door, I was afraid the feet on my wheelchair would smash the glass when the door kept swinging back.

The waitress was incredibly friendly, food was served fast and costs a reasonable prize for what you get. They have vegan and glutenfree options, which are just WOW! Definitely a recommendation :)

This is hands down the best burger I've ever had. We came here on match day for lunch and it didn't disappoint. It was raining so heavy and we wanted some nice warm food. I had the festive beef burger and it was just delicious. The fries were really lovely and the side of coleslaw too. They were sold out of onion rings but the coleslaw made up for it. The staff were really friendly and quick to serve us, even with it being an international pre game rush. Just to note, the stairs to the toilets were really slippery. Almost as if there was some sort of an oil spill. There were signs up, but still very slippery. Would definitely return again.

Visited on a hugely busy day, Wales home rugby, staff very efficient, food served in swift time and to a great standard. A shout out for Eve who was our hugely attentive and helpful waitress!

This has to be one of the best honest burgers I've been to. Everything was on point. I was warmly welcomed when I arrived. The seasoning of my gluten-free smash burger was perfect, and the chips had a little extra seasoning, which I really liked. Was also served throughout within a good timeframe and with a great attitude.

The place has a nice interior. The service was pleasant and friendly. Took the Honest Burger, it was good but I found it a little bit over cooked to my taste, I was expecting a medium cooked, it was closer to well done. The fries were really good, the taste was different from what you're used to, the rosemary was a nice touch.

Tried the smashed double burger and rosemary fries, it tasted great! So moist! The service was also great as always

Food ok. Nothing special. Can make the same in the house no problem. Fries are nice and plentifull. Burger ok. Absolutely disgusting £3 for a can of coke. Reasonable price for food. The can is just an absolute rip off. No need for it. Make a profit yes but come on. You can buy a pack of 24 for £14. Service was ok. Tried to slap an automatic service charge on the bill which makes me sick. I told them to remove it. No asking just putting it on the bill I despise this underhanded practice. All the staff are on minimum wage so this is just the company trying to subsidise the staff wages by ripping the customers off. Won't be going back. Much better places to eat.

Amazing burger and service, the only downside was the air conditioning and ventilation. It was so damp!

5* mostly due to lovely lovely Abby who was our waiter and absolutely made our evening - accommodated dietary needs, changes to our order, and even moved us to an otherwise closed part of the restaurant when the loud music was too much for me. Food was lovely as always and a great place for gluten free / coeliacs, but Abby was so kind and accommodating that they really made our evening!

Fuimos a cenar y fue tan bueno que volvimos a almorzar al día siguiente! Todos los elementos del menú son sin gluten o se pueden hacer sin gluten, pero eso no compromete la calidad o el sabor, pedimos básicamente todo y fue increíble. Trae la salsa de tocino. Confía en mí. Al restaurante - Tuve que dar cualquier crítica que diría que debe apagar sus pedidos de aplicaciones de entrega cuando se pone mega ocupado. Tener que pasar por delante de 10 personas + sus bicicletas solo para llegar a la puerta no es tan bueno. También significa que la gente que realmente come en el lugar tiene que esperar bastante tiempo para todo. Sé que es un negocio y el objetivo es ganar dinero pero ir más allá de tu capacidad es un mal negocio. Sin embargo, todavía volvería una y otra y otra vez!

Llegué a la hamburguesa honesta antes de un partido de rugby, logró sacar una mesa afuera en una velada encantadora, no estábamos seguros de si podíamos sentarnos o tener que reservar... inmediatamente una camarera vino y ayudó (Liz) la comida era increíble, abundante y caliente, las hamburguesas definitivas y las hamburguesas aplastadas eran todas encantadoras, nunca han sido demasiado honestas antes, pero definitivamente volverán también debido a Liz. . ella era increíble y tan servicial y amable. . hamburguesas honestas que necesitas para mantenerla en contacto con ella era increíble, también un tipo con tatuajes y piercing (no cogió su nombre) sacó nuestra comida y también era fantástico ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ y Liz 👌🏻👏🏻

Had no tables so said wait at bar and have a drink so we waited for quite a while no one asked for a drinks order so we stopped a waiter. And they got us a drink

The best burgers in Cardiff! They're to die for! I dont go anywhere else now, the vegan burgers are perfectly dirty and the rosemary fries are so moreish!

This was our second visit to an Honest Burger after being really happy with the food in their Oxford branch. This was also excellent. We were welcomed by all staff including the friendly manager and were served by Eve who was really pleasant and attentive. The burger and fries were all tasty. Great value, would highly recommend.

Every meal I’ve had at Honest has been excellent. Being coeliac, knowing that the majority of the menu is gluten free is amazing, there’s so much selection of items that I usually would be unable to have. All the staff have been lovely at every visit, and the food has always arrived quickly.

6.48/10 I have tried this place in Manchester and I have to say it’s amazing, although I don’t recommend take away. The burgers were not perfectly made as always and the fries were not the best. I recommend this place as a dine in only. The staff were friendly and service was fast.

Excellent food, one of the best burgers we have ever eaten. Not the biggest portions, but on the other hand you won`t leave bloated :)

It is Tuesday, 10:30 pm and this was the best burger I’ve ever had!!! Lovely manager! Try the honest beef burger and the halloumi honest beef.

Absolutely amazing food, we don't get much time away from the kids , so when we do we really like to relax and this experience did exactly that. We are pretty sure our server was abi. She was amazing and very helpful when deciding our meals. She was so friendly and the rest of the staff too, but she was absolutely manning the ship! Was very busy at one point and she still kept a smile. Thanks abi and thanks honest we will be back but next time with the kids .

Excellent Gluten Free range. The burgers were fantastic and the onion rings are to die for!! We also had the legendary gravy as well - 😘.It was madly busy when we went and even though we had a reservation, we still needed to wait but only for a short while. The wait was worth it! Great food, great location and fantastic waiter service!!

Visited this place not too long ago with my girlfriend, and it was lovely, food was great, our waitress, not sure of her name however she was ginger, was very lovely. Must say it was a very good establishment overall, would recommend to others.

Initial review 3/5 - Been meaning to try honest burgers forever but never got into town for it. Decided on a late night takeaway one night instead. Ordered a kids meal and as you can see it's more than enough to feed an adult! Had a side of coleslaw too. Burger was absolutely lovely, had a chicken burger. Felt similar to grazing shed just with a few less toppings. Very fresh and moist chicken. Unfortunately left most of the fries as thought they were a bit rubbish. Very thick cut which was fine, but so greasy and crispy there was no potato inside them, it was just like a greasy crispy skin. Coleslaw was ok, nothing to write to home about. Nothing wrong with service at all, prices very fair. Just not for me. New review August 2024 5/5 - had my first in house experience for Honest Burger and it was a vast improvement on the takeaway food. Had the special haloumi chicken burger with onion rings, which were gorgeous. Burger was great, and rosemary fries were much, much better. Service was lovely from the in house staff, props the very young girl serving us when it came to the bill with out various discounts and gift cards. She's an asset to you.

i had a delicious burger, chips and coleslaw. the customer sevice was 10/10 and perfect location in the city centre for a break from shopping!

I HONESTLY don't know why we chose here for dinner. Seated outside as the sun went down was a little chilly. and the service was a little slow. The burgers were excellent, the fries were luke-warm and quite a small portion for the money.

Always have the best meal in honest burger like 10/10 ; have ate there numerous times. The vibe is always good and the staff are the friendliest most efficient! Also love that the staff always look cool in their own clothes, especially shoutout to one of the waiters dan who goes above and beyond with a smile on his face and best outfits

The staff here are soooo lovely!! Very friendly and helpful when choosing what to have. Food was delicious, my burger was delicious and the chips were amongst the nicest I’ve ever had. I would have given five stars, but the toilet situation is awful. They’re closed away downstairs, big heavy door to get into the toilet area, then within that room are the sinks, and two cubicles for women, two for men. So you’re closed away downstairs with men in the same bit. Nothing happened but it felt so wrong, I felt quite vulnerable.

The food at Honest Burgers was absolutely amazing. I’m a newly diagnosed Coeliac and I felt very comfortable here. I was informed that all the sides are gluten free which amazed me because they didn’t taste like other GF sides that are usually tasteless. Would highly recommend Honest Burgers

Firstly, I want to say, that the service from staff was absolutely excellent. There was nothing wrong with the food per se it was tasty and there are a lot of chips with it. However, the whole place is very tired looking and needs some TLC. I had a cocktail which was awful and presented with a stick of very limp mint. It just, like lemonade with a tiny bit of alcohol in it just wasn’t up to scratch. I think if you do cocktails you need to do them properly or not at all. You won’t have a bad meal here it’s lively and busy and obviously quite popular. However, my daughter who went to university in Cardiff said that it used to be very good but it now looks a bit unloved and tatty.. The burger could’ve been a touch bigger compared to that with other similar burger restaurants but it was tasty. My daughter had the vegan burger but she said there wasn’t hardly any vegan bacon on the burger. Verdict: it could’ve been much better and it needs a good refit and re think. Staff are lovely and you are lucky to have them working there.

I love the food here. Especially the rosemary chips. I usually have the house burger, the honest burger. When I'm in and one of their beers. A great place for food and friendly staff. A good atmosphere over all.

The food was nice and the service was good, however value for money was pretty poor. The fact there was a service charge automatically added has made the easy decision to not return again. Prices in UK are already expensive!

Great find. Had booked this restaurant before a concert and although the menu is small everything tasted amazing which is much more important. Great friendly staff and service, will definitely be back

Excellent food and great to have so many gluten free choices! Good value and enjoyed the whole experience with the exception of there being a service charge added to our bill. Please don't start this horrible American custom - customers are completely capable of deciding when and if they want to tip. We asked for it to be removed out of principle, but felt uncomfortable having to get the bill amended and don't think we should have been put in this position.

I loved this restaurant, and we kept going back a couple of times a month despite the fact they got my wife's meal wrong 7/10 times, along with a slight decline in portion size, and effort from the staff to please. But they have introduced a service charge without warning to the bill, which effectively increased the priced by 10% for what was already an expensive burger. I know this can be removed upon request, but most people i know are uncomfortable doing this, and it just leaves you with a bitter feeling after a meal, bitter that you didn't challenge it and essentially had money nicked off you, and if you do challenge it, then embarrassed for making a point. either way it just ruins the experience. For this reason we have stopped eating here :( "I AM SO ANNOYED! Every burger 🍔 in the world has now been ruined for me. I will never be able to eat at McDonald's ever again! All other burgers are now dead to me. One bite of the burger and I was in Nivana. I actually felt guilty for how much pleasure I had outside the context of marriage 😆 I actually had to prepare myself to take each bite so I could fully appreciate it! And when it was done, I was done. It wasn't because I was so stuffed I couldn't eat any more (although I was very full), but because my pallet was just done, it was so perfectly content. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and very accommodating to my wife's dietary needs. Service was a little bit on the slow side but not awful, but then we were surprised by a discount at the end to apologise for it. Although the food more then made up for the wait, the gesture really made me leave feeling just blown away by the incredible dining experience! We will be going again!"

Came here twice while I was in Cardiff and it was the best choice. The staff are really friendly and attentive and have fun with customers and each other. You can see they have a great team who work together well. The food was really nice and reasonably priced. Bacon gravy is awesome. Had a great time here the first time I came back the next night.

Popped in for lunch whilst shopping. The greeting was friendly and team really chatty. We were recommended the special California and were absolutely blown away by it! Will be returning soon

Went here for a working lunch and the team sat us in a quiet part of the restaurant, the service was great but not intrusive as they could see we were working. Food was excellent

Burgers are lovely lots of flavours but wouldn't recommend the chips twice I've been and the chips always come out burnt over cooked. But the staff are lovely, and friendly.

Me and my girlfriend came here for some lunch, We were served by Dan he was great, really friendly. Food came out to us in minutes and tasted fantastic would recommend.

I had the lunchtime special. Even though the neighbouring restaurants were shut at 11.45 am the honest burger was open. The burger was perfectly cooked as were the fries. I can't falt the meal at £10.45 including vat it was excellent value for money

We ordered here it was absolutely fantastic we sat inside the venue the service was great I could tell they were stressed especially on a Saturday night but they were still very friendly the lady who cooked my burger absolutely smashed it was really wonderful 100% would visit again

The smashed burger was so good and even the fries that came with it. Cleaned my plate. The service was also brilliant and friendly from the manager to the waiting staff. Definitely a highlight for our trip to Cardiff.

Overall experience was enjoyable! Chips are fantastic though there's no option or extras for your chips which has a little disappointing but not a deal breaker I had a tribute burger and was overall happy with my meal , good tasty burger👌 Would recommend a visit!

Great food, great music, great atmosphere.

Hands down best burger I've ever had!! I've travelled all over the world and eaten many burgers and Honest Burgers have managed to get every element of a great burger just right. The meat is cooked perfectly, the flavours are complementary, and you don't leave feeling stuffed and bloated. And the buffalo wings with blue cheese dressing are everything!! Can't wait to go back!

The burger here is five guys level.. a solid 8.5/10.. the chips could be better they taste like roast chicken walkers crisp 7/10.. the onion rings are beautiful 8.5/10.. and the tastiest thing on the menu "the ranch sauce".. 9/10 it was spectacular!!

Excellent service, such lovely greeting and seated quickly, got drinks fast and food came in great time. The honest burger was lovely and juicy and the botanical cocktail recommended by this lovely girl was great. Overall, had a lovely time here and will be coming back again!

I went for the double smashed Pattie burgers, as I prefer my burgers cooked like that. Great tasting patties, ingredients and toppings. Chips were crispy and seasoned well. We also had some wings and onion rings as well as a coleslaw side, which were all tasty and added to the meal. We did have to ask a few times for our gravy though, which was a shame. Had a couple of local beers as well.

I really like it here, I've been here a few times now. Gets really busy at times (showing how popular it is), definitely worth waiting for a table. Sometimes has issues with order systems but staff are really helpful and quick to sort these issues. Also lots of tasty options for vegans and veggies. Their fries are amazing 😍 Price is bang on for what you get, food has always been hot and fresh for me. I like that they support local too. Would pick the vegan patty over the fritter but that's personal choice. Meat options are awesome too, the chicken burger with cornflakes in it is my favourite at the moment. Great burger shop, Honest.

DELIVERY ORDER WAS STONE COLD. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. I love honest burger food but honestly I think it's disgraceful that they keep delivery drivers waiting around so LONG when they don't get paid per hour.. And think it's acceptable to wait 2 hrs for a delivery and deliver it completely cold.... Is this a joke

The cleanness of the restaurant was what has spoilt it for me. The walk to the restaurant restrooms was the eye opener holes in the wall as you walk down the stairs, storage racks to pass on the way, and as for the toilets themselves they were disgusting. When you see this lack of care it doesn’t fill you with confidence that things like general hygiene is being maintained. The burgers themselves as well as the service were okay but I’ve had much better. It’s a shame because I wanted to like this place.

Probably one of the best burgers I have ever had. I think I had the I ❤️ bacon special burger. Tell you what it was bloody beautiful. Even when I went in the staff were really friendly and made me feel welcomed. The food didn't take very long to arrive at all which was great. I will definitely be coming back again next time I am in Cardiff. Keep up the great work!
