Lucky House in Swansea

Beautiful fresh food, always have the special chow mein wet and it's big chunks of veg big chunks of meat and big juicy prawns, highly recommend!

Used to allways order from here each week but had some dodgy meals and stopped the orders .nice staff and the food is good when its ok except the chips are allways a little on the hard side .Would look elsewhere as we have been un lucky house the last few meals we have had. Updated June 2024.meals have mostly been good 3 out of 4 but delivery wait times not good.you order online then get a delay email for 30 plus extra mins,not good when you order and starving.

I'm friends with the owner's son from school and I had the lucky house and was just amazing.

Not a bad word to say about the place, the people are so welcoming and the food is spot on especially for the price 😍 lovely food and lovely people :) the pork dumplings are my personal recommendation

Really nice food, also available on just eat and Uber eats however the Any beef/chicken All in One trays are incorrect on Uber Eats and ask for around double what they do on Just Eat - would be great if this could be fixed :)

Spent nearly 40 quid for a meal for too and it's gross chips are soggy my egg intolerant self can't even touch the pork rice and nothing is explained on the just eat menu before you order thanks for gastro nightmare do not recommend

Always great food and service. They missed an item off my order, without me calling to let them know they brought it in a seperate delivery. They also gave free poppadoms and fortune cookies with the missing item.

I have been here numerous times and keep going back, without a doubt the best Chinese in Swansea.

I just ordered food from here and I’m so disappointed by the curry. I had a set meal which included beef curry, egg fried rice, sweet-and-sour chicken balls, and 4 spring rolls. The beef curry was really bad. Hardly any sauce, overloaded with tasteless onions and the chunks of beef were like chewing on a flip-flop. I’ve never had anything so chewy in my mouth. And that’s not being dramatic. Horrible. The chicken balls and spring rolls were were nice, but the whole point of me ordering the meal was for the curry. Total let down.

I've never had a bad meal from here, tptally delicious every time. The delivery is always on time or early, the driver always polite and calls on arrival... couldn't ask for better!

Have a take away delivery quite often. Nice food, good price, quick delivery and friendly staff. I have pretty much the same meal all the time because I enjoy it. But there’s a wide variety, so I’ll expand my choice eventually. I highly recommend this place.

Great Chinese take away! Food always ready when they say it will be (give or take a couple of minutes). Friendly staff who always check you have everything you ordered and most importantly delicious food! Available on Just Eat for delivery or pick up

So the pricing is a little confusing (although you can potentially get some very cheap food with their deals), the exterior looks very worn/run down and they are cash only (seems a bit shady) but I would definitely recommend this one. The food was delicious and the woman who served my partner and I was very friendly. I'm not sure how the prices compare to the rest of Swansea but a roast pork chow mein was £4.50 which seems very reasonable, especially as it was a very decently sized portion. Definitely will be using them again.

Walked in, waited a few seconds ... was greeted from behinld the red door by two small children, both silently eating staring at me. My food shortly followed brought by a very smiley woman

I'm not one to leave reviews normally , but this time I felt I had to. Ordered Lamb with ginger and spring onion .. The lamb is all fat and gristle . They have used breast of lamb which has v little meat on it . Extremely disappointed as food has been good in the past .

On time, hot and everything tasted great especially the prawns Cantonese style... The only thing was the crispy beef it was like twigs & dry completely inedible!

An hour after my order went in the restaurant rang me to say that they didn't have all of the items on my order and did offer to replace them with some things else but then still took another half an hour to deliver. The food was OK, it was the delivery time that I'm unhappy about and I will not be ordering from Lucky House again.

The girl who delivered my order was polite and friendly. The curry didn't look spicy but looks were decieveing! I loved it!

We have used this restaurant on previous occasions, but not for a while . So thought we'd give it a go. Delivery was approx 90 minute wait. The food was absolutely disguisting. We had 4 dishes and you couldn't tell what was what, there was no taste to any of it. Needless to say it all went in the bin. Won't be using them again. Very disappointed.

Entrega estimada 45 minutos. esperé dos horas y media. y aun no los llamamos comida, y me dijeron que estaba en su camino, pero aún no hay comida. 15 minutos más tarde me dijeron que estaban esperando un chofer para entregar desde China (o al menos parece que por el tiempo). Como era la hora del desayuno para entonces se aproxima pedi cancelar el pedido. Se negaron. Tiempo más tarde por fin llegó la comida entregada por algunos hombre trepando por el jardín. No recomendaría pedir de esta para llevar a menos que usted puede esperar muchas horas para su comida y perder su cena. 0 Estrellas

The food was delivered well within the estimated time and was delicious. Thoroughly enjoyed. Best sweet and sour I have tried in a long time, not at all greasy as it can be elsewhere. Very impressed

Delivery time has let them down again why send me a text saying my food is on the way and it turns up half hr later

Always go above and beyond and cater to my pregnancy needs! We were both extremely happy with our meals and the fact we could pre-order aswell! Our regular Chinese from now on!

They took an hour and a half to deliver but I had called up and spoke to them and they explained they were extremely busy and apologised, really good food but just expect a long wait if you order on a Friday or Saturday night!

Just Eat Website needs updating. Ordered at 4.15pm earliest collection was 5.45pm earliest delivery was 6.15pm. Got there to collect at 5.47pm order wasn't ready until 6.08pm. I asked about earlier collection and delivery to be told they are open at 5 and I could have had it delivered if I had phoned. Also no option to pay cash on collection or delivery

HELL NO. Firstly I ordered and they said it will take 1hr to arrive (fair enough). At 11.05pm, which was when it was scheduled to arrive according to Just Eat and Lucky House, I called the restaurant to ask where the driver was, the lady said she was going to walk into the kitchen to check. Then she told me that they are 'just' packing up my food. Then I asked when it will be delivered and she told me to wait "15MINS". Starving, I waited for 15 mins and the delivery driver arrived. They didnt put a complimentary item in there for being late, not that I needed one but its just to show that you are sorry. Before the delivery driver left I randomly asked him if there was cutlery in the food. Imagine he said (whilst looking at the order receipt) "you did not order cutlery, if you wanted cutlery, you should have wrote it in the comment section on Just Eat". Yep I couldn't believe it too. So I called the restaurant up and the lady on the phone told me I didnt order any cutlery and if I wanted them I should have specifically wrote that I wanted cutlery. I ordered rice and sauce by the way!!!! Why would anyone not want to have cutlery to eat rice and sauce???? They could have at least put a chop stick in there but no. Anyway after going back and forth as to why it should be common sense to put cutlery in the bag. I told her for future references they should always make sure that they provide customers with cutlery. imagine she said she will tell Just Eat to tell customers to make sure to write that they would like to have some cutlery when ordering. ????????? God help us all

I'll start by saying the food is great. Best Chinese in the city by far. My issue with them is that I ordered the food at 19:30, and it didn't show up until 21:30. No explanation as to why, and they didn't answer the phone at any point. I love the food here but I really don't know if I'll be ordering from them again - last time the order was rejected, this time it took two hours. I'm not happy.

Arrived on time, hot and delicious, best delivery takeaway in the area in my opinion.

I would not recommend taking the risk in ordering from this Chinese takeaway (through Just Eat). The order I made was at 6:45 and initially provided an asap delivery time of 7:45. Minutes later it then informed me it would be due at 8:15, a 30 minute delay. Around an hour later it was then delayed again to 8:35, nearly an hour later than it's first expected delivery time which isn't good at all. I made it aware to Lucky House directly on the phone in a polite manner later being accused that I was "shouting" at the person that taking orders. When the food arrived it was 8:40 and didn't come with the free prawn crackers and the food was mediocre.

I have always been a regular customer of lucky house, ive always loved their food, that no Chinese could compare to, HOWEVER. during the last 2-3 months I feel things have gone downhill, delivery times go beyond a joke, they tell you one hour, then change it to an hour and half, before you know it you've got the kids screaming and whinging because their hungry, its 8pm and you ordered at 5.10 and foods still not here. it is ridiculous the food has really gone downhill, at first I though oh maybe it was just a busy night, not enough time to pay proper attention to the food, however when it continues to happen EVERY week it starts getting annoying and puts me off as a customer. I tried to avoid the wait times that they secretly add on just eat tonight (2/12/16) by ordering over the phone. bad mistake, 2 hour plus wait and foods arrived and once again its awful, my kids cant even get their fork through the chips they are so dry and solid. .and foods tasting awful. its really disheartening because this has been our regular Chinese once a week for 2 and a half years, but its not on anymore, I'm not spending money every week anymore to receive awful food. the staff however whenever you ring or they deliver are always lovely and cant do enough to help you. its a shame really

Can't leave a review because 2 hours after placing the order i'm still waiting for the delivery. Called to ask where is the food and was told it's only just left the take away. Not a happy customer. Will not be using them again

I decided to order from Lucky House for the first time based on the positive reviews they had received. My food was supposed to take 45 minutes to arrive. Lucky House then added another half an hour on - fine. 1hr 15 mins later no food has arrived so I call the restaurant. They tell me it will be ANOTHER half hour because they have had so many walk in deliveries. Why should I have to wait so long for my food because people walk in, when I ordered first? I ended up waiting over two hours for my food to arrive, by which time I was absolutely starving and completely regretted ordering from Lucky House. To make matters worse the woman who delivered the food refused to get out of her car and bring it to the door, so we had to leave the building to meet her and collect it because she couldn't be bothered. Definitely will not be ordering from here ever again.

Adding extra time to orders is not acceptable. Either deliver within 60 mins as claimed or don't offer it.

Food wasn't great, I had a chicken curry and it wasn't very good, chicken was chewy and sauce wasn't very flavoursome. They added half an hour to the delivery time meaning my food got here nearly 2 hours after I ordered. I live a 5 minute drive away?! Just to add my sweet and sour sauce had poured out in to the bag 👍 Food was definitely not worth the wait.

I love the food from here and will definitely be ordering from here again, probably my favourite Chinese in Swansea. Only problem is I wouldn't get it delivered, the waiting time is massive so from now on I'll just collect, food was piping hot even though it took a while!

Great food. Love it, but beware the delivery time is VERY long. It took an hour and a half on my last order and I only live a few minutes away. This has happened on numerous occasions. I get a time, and soon after I order it gets whacked up by 45 minutes on top of the initial wait.

Decided to try this Chinese as a change from our usual but wish we hadn't, food was ok but definitely not worth a 2 hour wait especially considering this was half hour later than specified.

Great food, good price, was actually delivered 10 minutes before quoted time so no complaints there. So good that I've been reluctant to try any other Chinese since first ordering from here. In my opinion its got to be the best in Swansea

it was a perfect example of how food should be made was very nice the curry sauce was also perfect! [thats a problem in some swansea chineses] this is going to be my go to for my chinese meals.

It took over 2 hours to deliver the food, when I rang the takeaway after 2 hours of waiting they were only packing the meal at that point.

I was beginning to think I would never find a restaurant that compares to the ones back home, have been let down by a lot of others in Swansea, due to the lack of food quality. I am so glad I ordered from Lucky House as the Food was outstanding, fresh, cooked well and to top it off great service. Don't usually get a delivery driver standing in the pouring rain with a smile and good attitude. Highly recommend.
