Biggest and tastiest portions of Chinese I’ve ever had with very nice customer service. Highly recommend.

We live locally and this is the best, and most authentic, Chinese around Caernarfon. Someone complained they can’t make chow main [sic] but it tastes exactly like chow mein is meant to taste. They probably go to the ‘Chinese’ takeaway run by English people which is dreadful, as is the big restaurant on the harbour. Everything we have had from Lucky Fish over the years has been amazing. Don’t trust the bad reviews which all look suspiciously similar.

Amazing service, front of house staff was so polite and nice. Food was delicious the crispy spring rolls and the sauce that comes with it has some amazing flavours, very authentic and the portions are very good especially if you are hungry. I would travel to come again! Brilliant:)

Phoned in to order beef chowmain for me and my partner and that it was awful I could of cooked the supernoodles myself didn't taste like chowmain at all chips were Cold banana 🍌 fritters alright but not again very rude delivery person 😕

We get a take away quite often from here and it is always great value for money, never compromising on taste and large portions! Kids love the food also so its a great meal for the whole family! Definitely recommend!!

I don’t know what the negative reviews are on about to be honest. Great food, big portions and ready to collect 20 minutes after we ordered it. It’s cash only though.

What the f**k is going on with the chow main in this “Chinese” takeaway? Never seen a chow main like this, it was overcooked thin noodles with a gooey sauce thrown on it? I’ve never seen anything like this before. Straight to the bin… it was the mist disgusting chow main I’ve ever seen and tried to taste. Someone needs to teach them how to name chow main

We had a takeaway because everywhere was closed. Loads of poor quality food. Avoid this place. Definitely not Cantonese style.

Have to give this Chinese takeaway a 5 🌟. I've been to many Chinese takeaways and this is just the best. The staff is always friendly and the food is amazing as always 🙂

Had the sirloin steak and chips, they seriously want to go and ask a butcher to show them what a sirloin steak is, mine was like frying steak, tough and full of grizzle, never have I ordered a steak anywhere and not being asked how I like it cook, was well over done, tough and thin as a rizla

Worst Chinese I’ve ever had. Went here because me and my partner fancied a change. Wrong food came, the duck was inedible as it was basically just fat and skin, and the hot and sour soup just had the worst smell and was also inedible. Spent more than we would in the normal Chinese and travelled so didn’t realise until we got home and was too late to go back. Won’t be ordering here again.

Have been using this place regularly for the last year and it has always been fantastic, their salt and pepper chips are really tasty. Saff are always very friendly when placing the order and delivery driver the same.

Open as usual. Food is great once you know what you like from the menu, as some dishes are much nicer than others. I would recommend the Udon or the currys.

I had the shrimp pangyan curry and it was lovely! Lady on the phone was courteous and helpful and the value for money was great! Would recommend! We phoned in and collected.

We ordered a take away for four from this establishment over the phone. No problem with placing the order and a time for delivery was given. After waiting an hour over the delivery time we phoned three times to enquire what was going on. We were told all sorts of tales and it was obvious during the last call the order had not been dispatched or even cooked. I had had been told by friends that this takeaway were known for this sort of practice but had decided to give then the benefit of the doubt. Never again. Total shambles. Keep well clear.

Very very disappointed, only went in for a large portion of chips, was not asked if I wanted salt and vinegar. Had to ask for it to be added after the chips had been wrapped up. Unfortunately the chips where very very stale which resulted in me taking them back. This was a Saturday night mid September on a nice night so no excuse for stale chips. Would not go there again. Ended up waiting in a queue somewhere else not far away, where the chips where much more expensive but much better service and tast.

Went there on Sunday and the girl at the counter was very rude, have bee going there for years but to be honest I will not be going back there, and the food has gone down hill

Used to go here quite often but I was very disappointed with our last visit. Asked for a Singapore chow mein, this is not what I had when I got home. I think it was a special chow mein and it was so bland! The sauce was like a gravy but tasted of nothing, I even put some curry sauce on it to try and get some flavour but that was also bland. Staff member who served us was very disinterested and obviously not listening when she took the order, she didn't really want to be there! Can't get a simple order right, wont be going back in a hurry

Ordered a meal half full tiny container of Cantonese beef and 5 small spare ribs for £14.50 🤨 it came without rice or chips as the menu states meals come with rice or chips and fried rice you have to pay extra and then when I rang up to enquire about this I was met with an angry chinese lady arguing with me that its extra for rice or chips?? Absolutely disgusting customer service foods not to bad but just standard from now in I will definitely be taking my custom else where after 5 years of going to this chinese I'm sad to say the new owners are terrible the quality of food has dropped dramatically the portion sizes are terrible and the customer service is clearly non existent....1 star minimum

Yes, I know it's a Chinese takeaway but there have to be standards. Chips were reheated at least once as they had no potato texture remaining whatsoever, and just tasted for old reheated oil. Fish was little better though was almost certainly cooked from frozen. Chinese food could be perfectly good but what we had was appalling.

Just back from a stay in North Wales. Used the takeaway twice whilst there and thought the service and food was great. Tasty, fresh, hot and delivered to our door.

Had the house special chow mein, very generous portions of meat and king prawns. Prepared quickly and tasted great.

Usually my favourite place to have my Friday/Saturday night Chinese, but this time I was so disappointed with the food! I was so exited to eat Chinese for the first time for over 4 months, and I was devastated! The chicken curry was lovely as usual, the rice was lovely as usual, but the chicken balls and chicken chow main was horrible!! The sweet and sour sauce tasted like vinegar! And the chicken chow main did NOT taste like it used to taste, it was not nice at all! Not going to lie, I usually praise the Lucky Fish Bar, but this time... I was very disappointed ☹️

I don't understand all of the bad reviews here, to be honest? My go-to Saturday night Chinese takeaway had always been Fu's, but with the recent price increase, we've been looking around for a cheaper alternative. We tried Capitol, Lee's, Golden Lion, Chan's and Lucky Fish Bar. And, overall, we all agree that Lucky Fish Bar is our favourite! An added bonus is that they deliver for only £1.50 which is so, so handy.The only thing that lets Lucky Fish Bar down, for me, is their curry and sometimes the long waiting times which can occasionally be over an hour on a Saturday night (for delivery). Their curry sauce is bland and not 'Chinese style' which is a major let down, as I find that I have to pop to Fu's or Lee's to pick up curry sauce if I fancy it with my meal.But their rice, noodles, sweet 'n' sour chicken Cantonese style and crispy chicken in OK sauce are all fantastic, delicious and so affordable. So, while we still do occasionally pop to Fu's for our weekend treat, we mostly get deliveries from Lucky Fish Bar, and I cannot fault it except for what I mentioned above. 4/5 stars overall. Well done!

Ordered fish and chips and the fish was HUGE. I also order king prawn fried rice and again portion was huge. They used really large prawns which was amazing. The lady was super friendly. Loved it

Decent Chinese takeaway and reasonably priced

Had a takeaway here on Monday nite no taste to the food had to reheat in microwave won’t be getting anything from here again

on saturday we ordered a takeaway for 4 people,2 mushroom omlette with chips ,1 mixed grill with chips and one chicken curry, the food was cold on arrival, both the omlette was awful , the mushrooms were button mushrooms cut in half and just thrown on th the ommlette prior to folding, they were boiled tin mushrooms and still wet, not even cooked, the mixed grill was also only half cooked ,nothing pleasing on the plate at all, now about the cold hard chips,never in my 68 years have i never been able to enjoy any sort of chips but these took the biscuit, looked like cardboard and even tasted as i imagine cardboard would taste, on the other hand my wife enjoied the curry.

I used to like this chinese until lately, food tends to be cold now, mushroom soup is like water, egg fried rice tastes like onion, chicken and sweetcorn soup sometimes nice and thick other times really watery and prices have gone up! Disappointed as I always went here, not any more

Fast service staff are very friendly and very patience with their customers. Food is delicious. Would highly recommend this place for anyone who would want a chineese at night.

Ordered food over the phone 40 mins wait to pick u, went there 40 mins, food still not ready, 1h 40m I had to wait in total just to get 2 salt and pepper chips wow

Ordered a delivery at 6.45pm and was told that they would deliver within the hour. I rang again after 8pm as there was no sign. The food arrived at 9pm. It was the worst Chinese food we've had and simply couldn't eat it. I rang the manager and explained how dissapointed we were with both the food and service and demanded a refund. I was told that the delivery guy will be back with my money. It's now 10.20pm.... avoid!!

Terrible! Called up at 6:30pm asked how long there was to wait on delivery, said 1 hour - 1.5 hours as only 1 driver available, fine.. expecting it to be here just after 8 give or take 5/10 mins - tried calling from 7:50pm to ask if it was on the way, called 146 times! Got through 3 out of the 146 times which they didn't answer anyway just cut off after a few minutes of ringing. No sign of food by 8:30pm and still couldn't get an answer on the phone so ended up having to order elsewhere and wait again... finally got through at 8:40pm to let them know I didn't want it anymore and has ordered elsewhere, no explination offered! Never using these again!

Special japanese udon with curry to die for.

Made two orders one ok, other messed up! Took over two hours to arrived.... stone cold. Asked for "pork balls" they delivered prawn balls, then had to actually then sort out a refund for the pork, go though the order to find the prawns... then actually took them away. I have worked many years in the catering industry and wow this is shocking!!!! Binned half of it... Uch! Oh and banana fritters... more like sloppy syrup. Uch!!! Oh spent almost £40 but as both orders came just under £20 we did not get the free bottel either! I would have appreciated it cause my mouth is disgusting now. Awful!!!!

Ordered crispy chilli chicken because of a review here, safe to say worst Chinese meal ive had, effectively crispy bits with no meat in it. The boiled rice was okay... I won't be going again.

We have a takeaway from here often. We have never been disappointed. We opt for a delivery at a nominal cost its worth it. The food does take a while to arrive but its worth the wait. Food always arrives hot. Chow mein is fantastic

The food here is very nice and you get plenty of it for your money! They do deliver but they are really slow, i recommend you go and pick it up yourself!

Unfortunately this place seems famous for its outrageously slow delivery times. I've always picked up my order and I honestly can't complain about a thing, the food is really tasty, it's always ready in 10-15 minutes and the prices are good!

Ordered from here twice, said they were going to be 45 mins, turned up after an hour and a half after numerous phone calls saying they were on their way, do yourselves a favour and don't go here!

I have never had such awful Chinese food. The salt and pepper ribs were literally little pieces of bone with batter on. There was nothing to eat on them and they cost £5!! Went to collect and the floor in the waiting area was sticky with grease. I'm really not that fussy - just wanted something warm and tasty when we didn't feel like cooking. Never again.

Never had a bad experience here. Excellent food everytime and personally the best Chinese food in Caernarfon. Delivery times can be a bit long but what do you expect when it's busy?

Love takeaway from this place. Plenty of choice, tasty food and when you phone your order it's always ready to pick up in 10 minutes. Glad their food hygiene score has now been boosted to 5!

Had chinese take out here very recently with my partner, food is ok but wouldn't go back in a hurry although portions were generous. Food had to much grease for our liking "dirty oil". Much better take outs around caernarfon area.

When myself and some friends visited the area to ride our bikes up and down Snowdon, we were unaware that everything seems to shut at 9pm. Having driving around looking for something (anything) to eat, we found this little shop, and were greeted by the friendliest people we had met all holiday! The portions were huge, way too big for me to eat in one go, and the prices were superb compared to what I pay in the south east of England. If I am ever in the area again, I will pay the lovely man and lady a visit again.

Phoned for an order to be delivered at 7.10pm was told it would take an hour and a half to an hour forty minutes, phoned 9oclock to be told it was on its way phoned again 9.15pm to cancel and was told they were 2 minutes away I asked if I could have a discount and the reply I got was I'll cancel your order for you. At 9.30 the phone rang they were outside with my order and were willing to knock a couple of quid off I refused the order because god knows what state the food would be in 1 hour plus after it had been sent out from the shop. I will never phone for an order there again.

This is undoubtedly best takeaway in town. There are some negative reviews but even by individual preferences I can't see how the ratings can fluctuate as much as that. I think some of the reviews are based on emotion rather than true culinary palate. Understandable though I'd get impatient after two hours.Still the best in the area. The wait was probably due to the business on the night.......... Which is a reflection of the quality of the food.

order took 2 hours to arrive. took one bite of the food and put the rest in the bin. all it tasted of was dirty cooking oil. this is not the sort of service you should expect from any food buisness. Will be surprised if they are open much longer!

Ordered food twice this week was late delivering the sweet and sour tasted like vinegar. The rice was all stuck together.. my son had chicken curry and has been in local hospital getting treated for food poisening!

Ordered food at 7:15 to be collected at 8:30 and was still sat in the chippy at 9:20 waiting for my order. The most disorganised worst chippy I have ever been to in my life! Will not be returning any time soon.

The fish bar itaelf is quite reasonably priced as is the chinese. The menu is very extensive and very enjoyable. We had the large chicken fried rice which at just under six quid was very cheap, it could have fed four all in all a welcome addition to Caernarfon. Only downside is that opening hours are very varied and not always kept to.

Believe you me I have a lot of take always but for the six months I go or have delivered my chinese from Lucky Fish.I have had a lot off the menu but by far the crispy duck and pancakes are the best I have ever had, ordering again tonight .

I loved it here! Many have told mw that they were disappointed with the service and food they received but when I asked for a free delivery I was amazed! The won ton was lovely and very tastefull! Tge only thing I thought that brought them down was tgat their portions was mahoosive! It was enough to feed 3 people with the chicken chow mein!

Love this takeaway in my opinion best one in town and free delivery foof tasty and reasonable prices!
