Had food here Friday and Saturday night - they're open until late which is ideal. Beautiful branding, fun atmosphere, wonderful design. Fun and yummy cocktails. Majority of staff were really really lovely and attentive but there was one individual working both nights that clearly ignored my sister whenever she tried to order drinks and avoided making eye contact in case they were asked for anything. The staff member served multiple people before her on the Friday at the bar, on the Saturday they kept ignoring her so much another staff member who had walked away and come back noticed she still hadn't been asked for her order so they came back and did it themselves. Food is great for the price, only note I have is the honey chilli sauce was very different on the Friday versus the Saturday. The Friday honey chilli sauce had a very strong taste of ketchup and it was watery, but on the Saturday it was miles better - it had the sticky texture and darker colour you would expect and tasted much better. Really fun spot overall :)

The decor, lighting and sound design are great, but I am not sure of all else. I really dont like the whole minimal interaction/app orders thing. But even if you think of that as a personal prefrence matter rather than demirit, it is still hard to like it when: your soft drink comes hotter than room temperature and melts the ice almost instantly, your food takes almost half an hour to arrive and tastes ok at best (bland!). The place looks good but doesnt really deliver a good experience as a take-away/restaurant. And beware of the starters, portions are tiny.

Really great experience of a Chinese takeaway in a bar and overall excellent quality of food! The only downside is that it came to £19 for salt n chilli chicken and chips with a cider which was quite overpriced, but besides that excellent food, very filling and tasty. Recommend to try at least once

Lucky Duck at Southside Social. Tucked at the back of Southside Social, a retro cocktail bar on Lower Crescent in Belfast with cool decor and music to match, you’ll find Lucky Duck, a quirky little booth serving up delicious, authentic Chinese food, to eat in the bar, out on the terrace, or to take away. We were invited to try Southside Social’s new summer cocktail menu, and sample some dishes from Lucky Duck. We started with a couple of great cocktails; a sweet and salty Mango Margarita, and a Negroni (if it ain’t broke……!) When the drinks were being prepared, a little card was provided by the bar staff, giving us a time slot during which to order food, and within 10 minutes our meal arrived, piping hot, in convenient little cardboard boxes. There are plenty of combinations to mix and match; we had spicy Salt & Chilli Vegetables with boiled rice, and tangy Sweet & Sour Prawns with huge, juicy king prawns, and a portion of chow mein. The food was fresh, filling & tasty. To finish, we had to try a couple more cocktails-a summery White Sangria, and a smooth, frothy Espresso Martini, while we pondered the legends within our fortune cookies!! And you certainly won’t spend a fortune in Southside Social or Lucky Duck with such affordable food & drink prices.

We had the best time tonight at southside, it's my 2nd visit and I couldn't fault anything. The service is amazing, the staff are soo lovely and friendly, especially the host, the bar lady, and the chinese reception lady, who served us. The food is top notch and the lucky ducks in our cocktails are a lovely little memory of a lovely night. Thank you all at southside social, we'll definitely be back.

The cocktails were great and so affordable compared to the prices in most places!! The food was delicious with generous portions, my only suggestion is please change the honey chilli sauce, it just tastes like tomato ketchup…which isn’t what I want from honey chilli sauce. Otherwise everything cooked to perfection and very satisfying. The staff were so lovely and helpful, top notch! Thank you!!

My partner and I recently had our “reception” for our wedding at Southside Social - it was honestly the most amazing experience! From all the help we got planning everything with Naimh, to the service and friendliness of the staff on the day- it was all unbelievable! Naimh and the team really went out of their way to make sure we were happy and could plan things easily with other vendors! They even put the SA vs Ireland rugby match on next door so we didn’t lose all our guests to another pub before our event started. They opened the venue early for our flower delivery even. Naimh also put together a banging playlist, which we will forever cherish as it got people dancing and singing along! We had a family brunch at Town Square the day after and the staff had moved all our flowers into the restaurant and cleared away all our wedding bits which made our clean up so much easier! Honestly, I could go on for days about how amazing it was to have our wedding party here! Most unbelievable venue, would recommend to literally anyone!

The food at Lucky Duck is decent. I ordered the beef curry with chips, but the chips were priced separately, making the total cost slightly overpriced at £15. The curry was a bit too sweet for my taste, probably due to too much sugar. Additionally when I got home with my takeaway, I didn't like the carton it was served in, as I couldn't pour the curry over the chips, which felt pointless.

Really good food and reasonably priced cocktails, perfect for date night or group night out. Will definitely be back!

Delicious food, recommend the salt and chilli chicken, portions are a decent size, the service was friendly and efficient, we decided to eat outside tables were clean and had a heater if you wanted to use it, which is a nice touch.

This place is mad, I went for a free pop up show for jax jones here and the atmosphere was amazing, the bar itself is so unique with the dj booth just behind the bar, to top it off they have a Chinese inside the bar like I don't think you could ask for much more really, it was amazing

Absolutely love the concept of this Chinese takeaway

With the decor, aesthetic and house/techno djs, this place should be heaving, but I think the prices have simply put people off. Few people are going to be happy paying nearly £6 for a Guinness, harp or some other mass produced beer from a craft tap. No promos or offers on food and drink and not much to draw in students or workers. Cutting off a huge demographic I imagine. One time it was open to 3 and other time closed much earlier

Went last night for their free chinese meal promotion. Honeslty one of the best experince I have had. We assumed cause the Chinese meal was free it wouldn't be overwhelming good and small portion. But oh how we were wrong. The food at the Luck Duck was amazing, great portion sizes and tasty food. We all got different things and the quality and the taste was amazing in each dish. The staff at both the Chinese and the Bar were lovely and had amazing customer service. We were greeted by a lovely lady who made the experince straight forward and made are night memorable. The drinks themselves were brilliant, cocktails tasted amazing especially the French kiss. If you are looking for a place to have a few drinks and a Chinese I highly recommend this place. The prices are good and the quality of service is brilliant Hope to be back soon

Really delicious authentic Chinese cuisine. Portion sizes were decent & all freshly cooked. The fortune cookie was a lovely touch & throwback, as well as the Lucky Duck decor reminding me of my youth. Southside lager is delish. The tables were clean & staff were friendly & attentive. Will definitely be back, thanks!

Nestled away behind Town Square opposite botanic train station is this gem of a takeaway/bar. Me and my friends were very happy with the relaxed and chill atmosphere. The music is the perfect volume which was great because I find in some restaurants it can be overwhelming with the noise + music. It's a trendy spot for a date or a tasty bite to eat. The food has a wide range of options all of which are delicious (I've tried all of them and my favourite is the black bean or salted chilli chicken), portion size is very generous too. There is a wide range of drinks and cocktails and a pretty reasonable price for Belfast. I would recommend the Gamma Ray as a good beer. The staff are friendly and the service is quick, me and my friends go here all the time and haven't had any issues.

fGreat little spot for a Chinese takeaway. They do the usual Chinese takeaway dishes (all of which I've tried) and they're all pretty good! We come here every week since July and the staff are always super friendly. Food portions are just right, never leaving hungry or super bloated. My favourite dish would be their Salt and Chilli King Prawns with fried rice but I'd recommend a pint or two with your meal to combat the spice! There's a great atmosphere that comes with the restaurant being within a bar and it's quite a unique experience when eating your Chinese meal :). I've been here for 8 months now and it's brilliant every time. They also have their own beer on tap called the Southside Lager with is pretty good. Overall I would definitely recommend trying this place out. Prices are usual for food in restaurants / bars. You can always stay longer for a few more drinks too.

Absolutely love the concept of this Chinese ‘takeaway’. Easy menu to choose from with classic staples of your local Chinese takeaway but inside of an on point and modern bar. This is the kind of place which matches the sophistication of London, but needs to be fostered and supported here in Belfast to truly reach its potential!

Great little bar, not very busy when we visited. But to be able to have a Chinese while have a few pints is brilliant.

I would say staff and drinks 5 out of 5 but the food nah never the food was awful tbh here I ordered the black beans (it wasn’t good at all even my colleagues they ordered different dishes and they didn’t like it)

miserable staff (ginger woman) said its open to 10pm, we went at 8.45pm and they didn't serve us & said they were closed

Extremely unpleasant experience. Staff were blatantly rude to our face. What’s the point in having a licence until 3am if the staff will shut off music and intimidate us into leaving early. One female member of staff was particularly rude, berating one of us in front of the whole bar for walking through a “staff only” that had no signs whatsoever indicating staff only. Will never return, and would recommend to all others to skip over and try somewhere else.

food was absolutely woeful, 0/10 it was so dry & bland even with the curry sauce, and they got our order wrong. not worth your money (so overpriced nevermind it was the worst food ever)

This place has a Chinese restaurant inside it and it is one of the biggest hidden gems in Belfast. I have never had such well made Wok food in Northern Ireland . You can taste the proper Smokey flavour from every part of the dish. I don’t know why it’s not more famous, this place would put the average Chinese takeaway out of business if more people knew about it

Five stars is for service. A private group closed the place longer than expected, and the manager offered a round at Town Square because we were so disappointed. The bar itself has a great atmosphere and good beer list. Give them a try !

Had a great night at the lucky duck / southside launch. Great atmosphere and the chinese food was lovely. Great concept with the store inside the bar and the kit out of the bar. Great selection of beer including a few local craft beer options. Very quick service. Will definitely be back!

Wow, after recently visiting China myself I can confirm that this truly is an authentic Chinese restaurant. People of Belfast are lucky ducks to have this venue at their doorstep!

Visited here on a Saturday evening. Fun concept and the place had a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Food is decent and it was a nice novelty getting a takeaway inside a pub. The bar advertises craft beer but mainly has the usual poor quality stuff on tap, Guinness and a lot of Heineken beers etc. Need to get some decent local stuff on.

A disappointing visit. A member of staff left menus on our table and after 15 minutes we had to ask one of the 5 disinterested staff who were all chatting together at the bar how we could go about ordering a drink and food. We were the only customers present! Food was presented in a cardboard box with disposable cutlery.....for dining in???? Only one choice of white wine! Definitely won't be back!

Perfect way to start the New Year with a pint and Chinese meal. Great food, ordered from the mini takeaway. Really quick service and great beers. Their Southside Lager is very good. Love it

Went to get a drink and they wouldn't except cash, not impressed. The menu was very small and they still got our order wrong. We were in at 6pm and were the only ones there but it soon filled up. Was a really nice bar but wouldn't go back.

A 10 quid reservation fee which doesn't go towards your food if you turn up? In a completely empty restaurant? That's a rip off. The food was good though. Tasted fresh and light. Staff said we were charged the 10 quid and the owner says we weren't, watch this space!
