Lucas May Coffee & Gelato in North Hertfordshire

Walked past and noticed the Gluten free cakes sign. Always a plus! Went in and the gluten free biscuits to die for. My partner had the chocolate cookie and he said it’s the best he’s ever eaten. The coffee is amazing. Prefect little find.

So......I find myself posted to this backwater of rural England for a six week project, so ..... first things, first, let's get our priorities in order; decent coffee shop, chip shop and charity shop - in that order ! Wondering around this village of Knebworth, only known (to people of a certain age) for the now infamous Oasis gig of 1996, you find yourself desparate for the taste of metropolital quality coffee, to spark off your day. There're several cafe's to choose from, but I recommend this oddly named, half florist, half coffee/icecream nook, run by the enthusiastic and entrepreneurial Katherine. She's a grafter and will gladly converse about her global adventures, whilst preparing you a gloriously well crafted flat white, with a Hertfordshire-smile, to boot. There're a couple of tables outside, where you can enjoy your cake and people watch, as hectic village life, converges in front of your very eyes !

A great addition to Knebworth! The coffee is delicious and there's a great collection of cakes and ice-cream, the kids love it too! And then there's the gorgeous florist next door! The owner and staff are also very friendly and welcoming

Had the best vanilla latte here. Its such a great place to stop with a mate for a catch up. Lots of seating out front and also in a cosy area out back. The best thing about this shop is the milkshakes! This cafe is part of lucas May Florist so you can have a browse around the shop whilst you are there. Owner very friendly and goes out of her way to make you feel welcome and looked after.
