¡Excelente comida y servicio después de haber cenado para el almuerzo hoy en este increíble restaurante! Cenamos en el bar para lo que fue una experiencia excepcional - Totalmente merecedor de su atar Michelin

Fue por el cumpleaños de mi esposa por recomendación de un amigo. El restaurante está bellamente diseñado con un montón de miembros del equipo para servirle rápida y eficientemente. ¡La comida estaba deliciosa! Scollops, papas fritas parmesanas, pasta de champiñones de temporada, pasta de salchichas de cerdo y lo mejor de la noche fueron los ravioles de trufa blanca! ¡Mi palabra fue tan buena! Precioso vino tinto maridado a un precio razonable. La única razón por la que no les he dado 5 estrellas es más debido al servicio. Nuestra camarera era muy educada, pero hablaba muy bajo y no explicaba las opciones de comida cuando se le preguntaba, el hombre del vino no se enteró de lo que estábamos comiendo primero antes de venir a nosotros y nuestros entrantes salieron demasiado rápido, ya que acabamos de pedir algunas aceitunas y papas fritas parmesanas antes de los entrantes y ahora todo en la mesa al mismo tiempo.

Si bien la comida era preciosa, sabrosa y bien hecha, el servicio era muy deficiente. Al sentarse, la camarera asignada a nuestra mesa me preguntó si me gustaría pedir una bebida. Ni siquiera tenía un menú de bebidas (o menú de comida para el caso). Esto me indicó que la camarera no estaba bien entrenada o le faltaba conciencia desde el principio. Para un restaurante de estrellas Michelin, fue bastante sorprendente. A partir de entonces se pidió comida y bebida, pero el siguiente problema vino cuando se pidió más pan para la mesa. Tuvimos que preguntar 3 veces, a diferentes personal de espera, antes de que finalmente lo recibimos. Una vez más, para un restaurante con estrella Michelin, esto fue sorprendente. La vela se apagó en la mesa en un momento dado, y le pedí a nuestra camarera que volviera a encenderla si podían. Eso no sucedió hasta unos 15 minutos después, cuando se acercó a la mesa después de recordar. La comida en sí era preciosa, y realmente disfrutamos de lo que hizo el chef, disfrutando del pez monje como entrada, la pasta de trufa para un principal, así como el punto culminante, siendo el bistec. Cuando llegó el momento de pagar la cuenta, le pedimos a nuestra camarera que eliminara el cargo por servicio y luego dividimos la cuenta a pagar. Regresó después de haber retirado el cargo por servicio con la nueva factura en mano, cobró en primera persona pero luego me presentó el terminal donde no era capaz de ver el monto que había ingresado, y pagué. Después de comprobar la cantidad que apareció en mi teléfono, no se veía bien, y me di cuenta de que había cobrado todo el cargo por servicio. Ridículo - Me sentí frustrado y molesto, ya que esto se pidió explícitamente que no se incluyera, y el hecho de que la camarera regresó con un nuevo recibo y todavía trató de cobrar el importe total a mí fue insultante. Tuve que acercarme a la persona que estaba en la caja y hacerle saber lo que había pasado, donde me preguntaron si todo había ido bien. Les hice saber que la comida era genial, pero el servicio era extremadamente decepcionante. Ni siquiera preguntaron por qué. La camarera que teníamos claramente no estaba lista para realizar el trabajo de esperar y carecía de servicio al cliente y habilidades de comunicación. Es una pena que el servicio defraudó la experiencia tan mal, ya que la comida era encantadora, pero no espere niveles normales de servicio aquí y mucho menos los niveles de estrellas Michelin de servicio.

Muy decepcionado. Muy mal servicio. Desorganizado y lento. Una persona recibió su arranque después de que el resto de nosotros hubiéramos terminado. Luego un largo retraso para el plato principal. Nadie se molestó en preguntarnos sobre la comida, que era mediocre. Estábamos tan hartos que ni siquiera esperamos a que nos entregaran un postre de cumpleaños. No volverá.

Mi marido y yo tuvimos una maravillosa comida y tiempo en Luca. Todo era fácil y sin problemas desde la reserva hasta el pago. Para los antipasti, pedimos las vieiras de las Orcadas asadas con alcachofa y nduja de Jerusalén y crudo de pez monje, remolacha encurtida, manzana y suero de mantequilla de rábano picante. Eran absolutamente divinos, especialmente el pez monje crudo. Explosión de sabor y presentado como una obra de arte. Pedimos los rigatoni con salchicha de cerdo ragu, tomate, anchoa y menta como primi para compartir. Fue auténtico y delicioso. En segundo lugar, pedimos el ciervo rojo de Windsor Park con higos, praliné de nogal, trompetas y bayas de saúco y el fletán escocés, salsify asado, uvas moscatel, mejillones y castañas. Ambos estaban bien preparados y presentaban un sabor bien equilibrado por lo que los ingredientes elegidos se complementaban. Para dolci, pedimos el tiramisú y la tarta de limón caramelizada con helado de hinojo asado. Tanto mi esposo como yo coincidimos en que los dos platos que destacan y nos dieron el factor “wow” fueron el crudo de pez monje y la tarta de limón. La textura de la tarta de limón era sedosa y cremosa, mientras que el sabor del limón nos hizo sentir como si estuviéramos en la costa de Almafi... ¡deliciosa!

I would like to start to confirm that the food was excellent. The service was poor, extremely rushed and pressured, not an enjoyable experience at all. The sommelier was equally uninterested, not unfriendly but had other things on his mind. Even when we were leaving, the were more interested in queuing up for their own meal than getting our coats which we got ourselves, no goodbye or thank you. Our first time here, not a pleasant experience.

Was here for my partner's birthday, and stated as such to the restaurant. Was greeted by the host and told Happy Birthday and this was about the end of the good service. Was seated with no menu and was told by a particular bald waiter that he would bring a menu to us. This didn't happen for 10 minutes until a charming young lad instantly noticed we didn't have a menu and hastily got us some. One last thing that cemented our poor service was that we saw a couple beside us with a 'Happy Anniversary' complimentary dish, which was not provided to my partner. Had we not have seen this dish, we wouldn't have minded, but that expectation showed us that there should have been something for my partner's birthday and was snubbed instead. The actual food itself was great, we had the chef's menu and had no complaints whatsoever about the food and felt that it was still Michelin star level. Had it not have been for the absolutely miserable service, I'd have rated this restaurant higher, as you are paying Michelin level prices, I would expect Michelin service.

I didn’t know the Farrigdon borough at all and my reason to stop over was this restaurant Luca I read about some time ago on a magazine, so was curious to see it. It’s a few minutes walk from the tube station. The name sounds like an Italian restaurant with an Italian male’s name: Luca. The outside has a very nice green facade. But once inside the atmosphere instantly hugs you with its elegance yet warm and welcoming. I didn’t book and the only seat available was at the counter. I was alone so happy with it. In front of me was the wall full of bottles of drinks and liqueurs, on my right a big silver bowl full of beautiful yellow lemons. I ordered my food from the specific counter menu. While waiting I enjoyed the buzzing of the other clients polite talking. When my food arrived I really liked the presentation but the taste burst in my mouth in an array of perfectly mixed ingredients. The artichokes were a masterpiece, each bite a joy for my palate.The side veg dish so tasty and delicate.The tiramisu as a closing to the superb light meal, was divine. All was even more delicious because of the staff attentiveness and kindness. My position gave me the privilege to see the bartender at work. What a lovely guy, working so smoothly, with all his know how, he still had the time to answer some of my questions. I spent such a lovely time in this restaurant and I will definitely go back in the near future. P.S.: the name of the restaurant is actually after the Italian town in Tuscany LUCCA, which is spelled with a double C.

Kan inte förstå att de har en stjärna, var så besviken på både mat och service. Rätterna vi fick var dåligt komponerade och tillagade, allt ifrån textur (vissa delar för råa, överkokt pasta, seg fisk som var svår att skära i, ofräsha grönsaker) till sälta (antingen för mycket eller för lite) och övrig smaksättning/balans som tex ogenomtänkt mängd av de olika komponenterna både per rätt och per servering. Service/timing var katastrof. De började servera mat innan alla fått beställa dryck, vi fick äta de första 4 serveringarna på samma tallrik trots att det var allt ifrån bröd till rå fisk till en fruktig burrata. Tomma glas stod kvar länge på borden och vatten fick man hälla upp själv. Lokalen är mysig men rekommenderar inte att gå hit.

Luca was a complete letdown. Despite its Michelin star, the service was slow, inattentive, and frankly, rude. Hygiene standards were shocking, with staff handling ingredients and ice with bare hands. The restroom was dirty and used as storage for broken furniture. The food was overpriced and underwhelming – the monkfish, in particular, was inedible with a foul smell. This restaurant is clearly hiding behind its Michelin star, and it’s not living up to the expectations. Save your time and money – there are far better options in London. I won’t be returning and neither should you.

great talking space for people like me who love to talk to people in a comfortable and reassuring space where the priority is talking and discussing topics such as, public speaking, speech and debate, linguistics discussions with talkers from here to there. great spot to chat.

This is a great restaurant with fantastic decor, ambience and outstanding service and food. It's more pricey than others, but it's well worth it. The staff are all welcoming and well informed. The food is beautiful and delicious so it was the perfect place to celebrate a special birthday. It conveniently located in a quiet unassuming location not far from Farringdon station. It doesn't look much from the pavement, but once inside, the restaurant opens up, providing a lovely space which gives the feel of a bright and open modern yet intimate dining space. Food wise, our table of 5 tasted a good range of dishes from the menu and everything was delicious. I'd recommend trying things you don't usually like because in the hands of expert, you will change your mind! Not an everyday restaurant most of us but most definitely would be mine, if only my budget could cope!

Such a shame, as we were so looking forward to this meal here, as our friends and family members kept saying how great it was, so we booked it and went with high expectations. On arrival greeted with smile and a friendly manner we were seated at tgeir gorgeous terrace, I don’t think London has better. From this point onwards its just started with disapoitment all around, service was so average and extremely intruisive with waiter just insisting on describing each dish in depth, without as even asking about it. Secondly wine service have felt abrupt , maybe because we haven’t selected their prime wine selection and just opted a simple bottke, which we fairly enjoyed anyway. Finally our main course wait hit 40 min!? thats is way too long, im sure everyone would agree with that. All in all what a shame, really.

This is a very good restaurant. Food is almost perfect! Service is also almost perfect. 4* because the fish dish wasn’t exceptional and the service wasn’t quite at the very highest level, which is what you’d expect from the price point and the Michelin star. However, all in all a lovely evening and a lovely meal! Would return!!

Saturday lunch - rather surprised to find a restaurant in the Clerkenwell area open, but it was, doing good business. Limited menu but a decent variety and very good quality. Service just right.

I ate here again recently, for the second time and once again enjoyed it very much. It’s a lovely, spacious restaurant with delicious food. We had the chefs menu this time which we all enjoyed and I thought was pretty good value. The only reason I haven’t given it 5 stars is the wine list which is far too expensive. For those of us that don’t have a refined palate or much knowledge but would just enjoy a bottle of pleasant Italian wine with our food couldn’t there be a select choice of reasonably priced house wines? Oooh I can feel noses being looked down as I write!

The restaurant must have got their Michelin Star from the pound shop along with a Bolex Daytona and a pair of Roy Bons. Average food, dreadful service and a wine list priced in Ugandan Dollars. We won't be returning to LUCA. We'd heard great things but our friends clearly don't know what they are talking about.

I booked Luca for my husbands birthday. I had seen it on instagram quite a few times and heard a few recommendations. The restaurant itself is beautiful, however, the food was distinctly average, which at circa £200 a head with drinks, is really disappointing. We did the chefs menu and my husband did the wine pairing. The sommelier was totally disinterested and often didn't serve the wine before the food came out, dessert was long gone by the time the final wine was served. The food started well with burata and monk fish, however, it went downhill at each course, with over salted pasta, over cooked & chewy pork and a totally underwhelming dessert. There is so much choice in the area for great Italian food at a much more affordable price.

We were looking forward to a meal at Luca but came away feeling really rather disappointed. Firstly, the service. This is probably the overriding factor for our poor experience. We had booked the chef’s menu. Within a few minutes of arriving at our table, a waitress arrived who slapped down two dishes along with something inaudible but along the lines of ‘here’s your burrata and your monkfish’. OK… so, how about an aperitif? Or the wine list perhaps? Eventually we got the attention of somebody else who asked the sommelier to assist us. We enquired what we would be eating (no menu, which is fine, provided there is an explanation as to what’s being served (there wasn’t)). We were told that we would have what’s in front of us, then some pasta, then some meat, then something sweet. Helpful. Asking for a recommendation for something to complement the meal, the advice was to ‘look at the wine list’. Brilliant. The service during the rest of our time at Luca didn’t get much better…. We asked about a couple of the dishes as to provenance or ingredients. In both occasions we were met with a blank look.. an offer to ask the chef didn’t come to anything. The food: All I would say is that we both found the dishes to be pleasant, but far from anything out of the ordinary both in terms of taste and creativity. A ball of burrta in a bowl with some dill oil… nice… but hardly inspiring. The ravioli… pleasant, as was the pork served as secondi… but again, nothing to rave about. One thing that we found very peculiar was that the antipasti and the primi were served with finely sliced chilli. No issue in particular with that, I love chilli, but on every dish? Perhaps there was just a lot that day that needed using up? The space: is lovely and was a lovely place to dine… shame the experience was let down elsewhere!

Just not up to the Michelin standard I don’t think! Over seasoned food it was soooo salty, the starters had been sat out, as had our primi course. We must have had four courses within one hour. Attention to detail just wasn’t there, no coaster for our drinks. Asked the som to describe some of the wines and he couldn’t really be bothered. All round not impressed would not recommend if you want a premium dining experience. Beautiful place and the staff were for the most part nice, but it is just simply not worth the money when there are so many other premium experiences in London that tick all the boxes.

Great food. Service underwhelming. Tepid, disinterested and sloppy. Ultimately disappointing. With no senior staff oversight.

My friend treated me to lunch here. The set meal is £26 for 2 courses, £30 for 3. The team had a birthday card ready on the table for me, which was a lovely touch. The food was very good and service was great. We were also both given a pudding on the house. Great atmosphere and a lovely experience.

Luca was great , nice food and nice feeling about it very friendly staff , worth a visit if you are around Farringdon , 10/10

Atmosphere: Not really a restaurant for grown-ups unless you like the bass beat competing with the noisy dining room. Food: Reasonably good, although the artichoke on the vitello tonnato was more like cucumber. In fact, it really didn't seem to be artichoke (just my view - I did eat artichokes pretty steadily for the five years I lived in Italy). Service: Frenetic, confused and sloppy, although well meaning. Overall: Amazed that this restaurant holds the reputation it does. But, again, I think if you've never lived in Italy, don't really know what fine dining is, and don't mind a lot of noise, it's probably pretty satisfying. Prices: Significant.

The best restaurant in London could ever have. But most importantly it's the Manager Stefano who is probably the best at his job, as he just masters the feel of welcoming and the level of professional care you want to see at the restaurant. Grazie, Stefano!

You know when you spend £400 for two people in a restaurant and you end up being like « I’d rather have bought myself something else? » Arrived just on time, no one to greet us at the door apart from an IPad - nice start after a bad Friday at work. Went in to look for a staff member and finally find one who tells us that he will… speak to his colleague. Now waiting in the middle of the bar and standing up until the « colleague » finally arrives to tell us that our table is not ready. « Please sit at the bar » nice, why not getting a drink before dinner, unless no one actually comes to give you a drink. Ok the menu arrives, £16 for a negroni, « Sorry I think we’ll wait and order a bottle of wine at our table ». Someone comes to bring us to our table. Loud, show off, instaspot, far from the nice Italian place we had imagined from the outside. Food comes, the waitress asks if everything is alright straight after putting the plates on the table. My girlfriend cracks a joke « hard to say before tasting the food! » - no reaction aside of a weird look. The food is okay, but not worth the price. I thought the service could turn casual instead of weird when the waitress cracked a joke to me when my girlfriend went to the toilets saying that she left me before paying for the bill, that until she cracked the exact same joke to the guys next to us. Ah yeah final one, I ticked « birthday » as special event when booking a couple of months and despite the 300 waiters no one reacted nor brought anything, which after all my girlfriend was really grateful for (I guess that should count as a positive then?) Would I go back? No.

Wow! We had incredible food during our trip to London but Luca stands out as a shining star. Our server, Tannis, was extremely knowledgable about the menu and very patient with our larger group. The white truffle cacio pepe was absolutely stunning as were the parmesan fries. I would recommend this restaurant a million percent...and don't sleep on the fennel ice cream if it's on the menu when you go!

My wife and I had a lovely evening at Luca on Saturday. The restaurant itself is a stunning space and we had a great table in the centre of the conservatory (as requested). The place was completely full (with 2 private parties happening which sadly meant that the terrace was closed for the evening) but there was a lively busy atmosphere while still being very romantic with candle lit tables. The food was superb. The beef fillet was possibly the best steak I’ve ever eaten (and I’ve eaten at a number of other Michelin starred restaurants). It was cooked medium well but still incredibly soft and tender and served with a delicious garlic sauce. Both pasta dishes were also delicious. The portions were all generous but sadly that meant we had no space for dessert! The service was excellent, our waitress was very engaging and asked all about our anniversary that we’d noted on the booking and we also received a celebratory plate from the kitchen with small cakes to mark the occasion. The sommelier also made an excellent recommendation for the wine. In fairness the bottle he suggested was only £65 which was much less than other potential options on the menu. Three courses each and a bottle of wine came to £330. Some may say that’s expensive but when nearly all Michelin starred restaurants in London serve obligatory tasting menus for at least £175 pp, I don’t think it’s too bad. I’d have no problem recommending Luca and hopefully one day when we’re next in London we may return!

We were made most welcome and had some incredible dishes, polished off with Lucacello! Loved the sourdough and Lucaoil too!

Nice setting and very friendly staff, but the food could’ve been better. Everything was fine, and some things were good, but nothing was really special.

We had made a reservation two months in advance as we were excited to have a special experience on our first night in London. Unfortunately, the experience was less than special. In fact it was extremely disappointing. When booking our reso I indicated it was a special occasion - that didn’t seem to matter much, as no one asked us what the occasion was when we arrived, and we were seated next to the bussing station. As others have mentioned, the service was chaotic and amateur. We waited quite awhile for a menu and then even longer to order a pre dinner drink. Our waiter was not sure of herself and seems to be new. She even bussed my partners cocktail away before he was entirely finished. Kind of a bummer when you’re savoring an expensive drink. The food was fine. Just fine, not amazing. We had much more amazing food the following days, in Paris, at tiny cafes with zero stars. The whole experience was a let down. The only thing that was over the top was the bill! Very expensive for substandard service and mediocre food. Sigh.

We agree with ‘rbears’ review (July 2023). This was our third time at Luca and we were super excited. Unfortunately, we left feeling disappointed and feeling that we would not want to come back. The service felt rushed. But this is not a meal to be rushed and it is not acceptable for diners to feel staff are on over-efficient mode in order to get bums on seats. Service should be relaxed and charming, and it was neither, in stark contrast to our two visits last year. We like to try different wines so ordered by the glass for each course and felt that this was not a welcomed approach. I don’t really care tbh, I can do what I like - I’m paying. But the staff should be as charming when I’m ordering a £16 glass of wine as when I’m ordering a £250 bottle. The food is still good, although the lobster pasta was too salty for me. I make a concession on that point though, because someone else might have found it perfectly seasoned. As such, the two stars are deducted for service. Luca will survive without us patronising it, sure. There are plenty of business diners who will frequent it. But worth checking yourself, guys.

I had made a reservation for a friend whose birthday it was. The friends’ daughter was sent home from school sick the day before the reservation so we had to cancel. The restaurant was adamant that they would charge me £60 even though we cancelled the day before and even though I offered to make another reservation. Rude and arrogant staff member. I will never make a reservation again.

My friend and I sat in the bar area and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and the service, particularly from Danny who was exceptional. We will certainly visit again.

This was my 2nd visit, following the 1st being a business lunch, but sadly it didn’t live upto the high expectations I had. The service for a sat lunch was must slower, staff appeared to be a little more confused, rushing around but lacked giving the guest attention and one comes to expect for a one star. We opted for the full menu and asked the sommelier to pair each course. His pairing choices was spot on, but lacked the knowledge and rushed his explanation for this choice. The pairing for desert was missed completely and arrived after several attempts to catch one of the waiting staff, despite sitting right by one of the waiters stations. The mains of beef and lamb both lacked any seasoning. What a real shame We rate the food a 3.5 but the service and overall experience a 2. We left very disappointed after a £400 lunch. Will need some convincing to return.

Went here recently as was recommended. Was no more than average quality food save for perhaps the dessert which was good. The starter and main were lacking a depth of flavour. Was the the level of food I'd expect at a somewhat dated restaurant trying to be upmarket but not getting it right. Sorry to say. And I've just Googled it and see it's a Michelin star which I find very surprising. Maybe it was deserved once but unless they improve I suspect they'll lose that. Service was friendly if a little slow at times; especially at the beginning and end.

Considering that this is a Michelin Star Restaurant, I was somewhat underwhelmed. The food was acceptable, but not overwhelming, I have eaten better meals in non-Michelin Star Restaurants. Service is good and friendly. As everybody points out, the palce is pricey. I frequent high class Restaurants and am well accustomed to pay £ 200 per person for a meal, which I don't mind for a good meal, but I am not entirely sure that I would come back here.

This is an expensive restaurant, be prepared to spend £125 -150 per head at least with a few glasses of wine included. Most of the food was very good but the Herdwick lamb was very salty, almost inedible. The 2 young lady servers were charming

Don’t choose the chef’s menu. It’s not worth it, very disappointing. You are better off taking a starter and and main. And then you probably don’t have to wait 45 minutes between each course.

Great Italian restaurant with very attentive staff, warm decor and ambiance and happiness all around. We had the vegetarian tasting menu - all excellent, but the burrata and the parmesan fries were particularly amazing
