Third time I have visited the spa. Incredible as always. The cleanliness, attention to detail in the design, landscaping and staff along with the incredible location overlooking Windermere makes for a best in class spa experience. The addition of the extra outdoor infinity pool makes what was already an amazing spa even better. The outdoor bar is a great touch and the staff walking round with complimentary hot chocolate, refreshing face towels and snacks is a lovely touch. I absolutely love it here. Go for sunset! Beautiful views.

Only interested if your spending money. When we booked we were told via telephone we could use the leisure facilities the next day but not told times. So we turned up and we're turned away by a very rude spa manager and hotel manager. Basically they don't want guests using the leisure facilities as they want it less busy for people paying for spa facilities so they keep the times guests can use leisure facilities very hush hush. Not interested once our stay was over.

Where to start - this place is incredible! It’s not often to come across somewhere that exceeds expectations in every way. We spent a couple of nights here and can’t wait to come back! The staff - every single staff member we came across was so friendly, polite & helpful, the lovely man at the car park barrier to the spa ladies! The small touches - we came with our dog, & was provided with a bed, blanket, snacks and a bowl! We had a do not disturb sign one morning & the cleaners left a bag of fresh towels & coffee for us (without us even asking!) outside our door The spa - incredible! I’ve seen many complaints about not being able to use all the facilities when booking a room, but it was super clear on booking that this would be extra. The timings we could use the indoor facilities worked perfectly well. The full thermal journey itself was amazing, again small touches like coming round with hot chocolate and tiffin, hot towels etc was lovely. The food - we ate at the W hotel which was outstanding. Breakfast was also great and again, small touches like setting us a table in the lounge so our dog could join us was fantastic and appreciated. I could go on and on but in short - 10/10. The management should be extremely proud & happy at such a seamless service & venue. Thank you! ☺️

Very enjoyable anniversary stay in February. Entrance to the hotel from the car park was a little difficult to find in the dark, and the car park was very full on arrival. Mo, on reception, was especially helpful, but all the staff were unfailing polite and friendly. The restaurant, the W, was fantastic: we loved the food, the service and the value, and would definitely re-visit - even if we weren’t staying at the hotel.

Had a great spa experience with lunch here. The staff were great and called us back when they had a cancellation. The service was great from all the people we dealt with. The amenities in the spa area were excellent. Loved the outside area, especially sat in the warm pools when it's cold outside. The lunch was good quality. There's a great feel in the whole spa area and it wasn't too busy, we got to try all the things we wanted to. Would highly recommend.

Drove past here on the open top bus. A man in his room, on the first floor, wearing a dressing gown waved at us. He looked so happy it must be a five star experience. I’ve never stayed here.

We came for my partners birthday as a treat and booked the whole spa day package, with the thermal, treatments, and food so paid A LOT of money. The spa is absolutely lovely, however the treatment and food did let it down. My phone was removed along with my towel when I was in the sauna, none of the staff had checked if anyone was even in the sauna before taking these away. I came out with 10 minutes to spare for my treatment to my belongings taken, this made my anxiety go crazy, I searched the area and the new towels just outside the sauna and no luck. My partner went to ask a member of staff who came and said it might be in the towel box, my phone was sat on top of all the towels and could have easily been taken. I know this was an honest mistake, however this then made us late for our treatment. The treatment was then rushed around 30/35 minutes instead of 50 with no facial given, this ruined the experience as I was no longer relaxed. I emailed the spa about this and was dismissed and told next time I book to book directly through her, this made me feel like it was my fault and I had booked it wrong. I emailed back and I have had no response in 11 days so I assume I am not getting one. The food wasn’t the best, we had the set menu which the flat bread was a very flat, dry wrap and the pulled burger barely had any BBQ flavouring on. Overall, if I ever came back I would not be booking anything other than the thermal since they do not prioritise the treatments to ensure you get what you pay for.

That was a hotel to remember, I had a really cool time here because the experience was great, staff was 5 stars and the whole experience was really good overall, Jay and Danii made it a place to be back again as they were so wholesome and brilliant, I'll be back.

We couldn’t find a fault with our experience. From start to finish, it was amazing. The little touches such as free hot chocolate and warm face cloths really made a difference in the spa. Views to die for. All staff amazing. Afternoon tea was georgeous. Couldn’t fault at all.

Really disappointed, the hotel itself is amazing, really nice surroundings & the rooms were really nice. The thing that dissatisfied us as a couple was the service, we ordered room service and after one hour waiting for our food to turn up, we went down to reception and mentioned this to the receptionist she said “oh I’m sorry it seems that we forgot your order“, we then proceeded to go to the bar for something to eat, we ordered a club sandwich which when it arrived the chicken was raw and I mean pink!. If we would’ve eaten this, we would’ve been probably sent to hospital.! we asked to speak to the manager and in all fairness he was really apologetic, he provided us with a discount for our meal and a couple of free drinks. But on the whole our experience was really negative, would we return there absolutely not! For the price you pay you would expect the service to be of the highest calibre, it was absolutely terrible and I’m not exaggerating when I say this. On another note as a paying customer you would expect to get access to the spa, when we tried to book into the spa the lady on the the desk informed us that there was no availability and that you would have to have booked months in advance, If we’d have been aware of this, then we would’ve booked prior to our visit. All in all a very disappointing experience, from our visit, there are a lot of other hotels in the area where the service is much better, this is just my opinion, although if you stay here, I’m sure you will experience the same as we did. A real shame really, because with the right management and attention to detail this could be a really really excellent hotel.

I booked in for the 3 hour thermal journey with afternoon tea and everything was just amazing. From excellent customer service to brilliant spa facilities. You get what you pay for. I will definitely return

We stayed here for 4 nights with our dog. We really enjoyed our stay, the staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel was clean and the spa and gym/pool area were all wonderful. We didn’t eat in the restaurant due to our dog being with us we went out to eat but the menu and restaurant looked very good. The bar was always busy and had atmosphere in the evenings which was nice and we were welcome there for a late night drink. I recommend the “honeybee”! Breakfast was buffet style, very good quality options and very nice coffee. We had a table already set up for us in the bar every morning rather than the main restaurant so our dog could join us which worked perfectly. Beautiful views and setting and a great location/base for visiting the surrounding area. Recommend for a really lovely getaway came home feeling relaxed and refreshed!

I went for a meal with my family. I didn't stay as it's not too far. Ate in blue smoke, n I'll get str8 to it. Literally the best cooked steak I've ever had. Like ever. I did have a 3 course meal, which was all nice, but it was the main that blew me away. The staff were on point too, their service was efficient and friendly. I'd absolutely highly recommend this place.

Perfect spot to chill with a glass of wine after a day in the lakes before setting off home.

Definitely one of the best spa areas we’ve been to in the world. Clean and spacious even though it was busy. Great location even if on the road where our room was it did not bother us. We also used the gym that was well equipped and breakfast was at a good standard. Would recommend to friends and family.

First time here for a Freemason meal. Service was fantastic and food was flawless. Will definitely be back with my wife for a weekend.

I came to stay here for the weekend but was not able to either use the spa or the pool for 2 nights as they set ridiculous limits to use them. Having stayed in so many luxurious hotels, I have never seen a place with such bad faith and that prioritizes outside guests over its room guests + charge for every single use of amenities. Oh btw, they also haven’t heard of green tea lol

Location is amazing. Overall for over £500+ a night for use of the spa and a one night stay over certainly not worth it. Dined in the blue smoke restaurant and generally thought it was one of the worst steaks I have eaten. Waiter nearly dropped the meal on my lap, tasted burned and lacked alof of flavour. Starters where freezing cold complained to be told they are served at room temperature no where in the menu does it state that. Bars within certain parts of the hotel without staff recaption ares without staff just so poor considering how much you are paying would rather stay at other locals hotels where service is more a top focus then just being treated like cattle’s and being rushed around. Hotel room seems beautiful on the surface till you look alot closer massive hole in tiles around radiator mass amount of dust above shower head generally expected so much better after hearing good things. Expected so much more but generally so poor positives is the spa and that’s about it.Hotels is aim for Tourist from far and abroad wouldn’t step back foot in the hotel if you paid me.

We had a thermal journey spa day. The thermal pools were a fabulous place to spend a couple of hours looking out over the lake. The staff around the pool area were attentive and efficient, it was a really great day!

Underwhelming is not the word with the Low Wood which imo is vastly overpriced and overrated. The rooms look nothing like the do on the pictures but for hotel guests not to be able to use the pool facilities during the day is shameful.

We had an excellent stay. This hotel keeps getting better each time we visit. The decorations were beautiful and our lake view room was stunning. The best part was the service; every team member we encountered was so polite and friendly. Maya on reception was brilliant with my request on arrival and the gentlemen who greeted us a breakfast was great. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Lunch at the Blue smoke restaurant was excellent, Sirloin steak was amongst the best I've had. Salmon was perfectly cooked and presented. Lovely feel to the whole restaurant and very well looked after by Pav throughout our Lunch. Our thermal journey Spa session with private mud bath was excellent. Outside heated pools and Jacuzzis were very well positioned with great open views from the hillside over the lake even on a grey drizzly day in December. Finish sauna is very good with real fire and again excellent views out to the lake. Staff were all excellent taking drinks orders and serving up complementary mince pies or fudge treats. Superb spa setup that is sure to impress.

poor. The views and the breakfast was nice but unfortunately this can be the only good thing about the venue. Upon check in, there was no information on how to get to our room and reception didn’t tell us. We headed to the spa after check in and got greeted with rude staff chatting to each other, with a ‘ya want towels ??’. Then got told that the infinity pools and outside swim area was an extra £25 and was not clearly disclosed when booking- though yeah no, we’ve paid £300 for an average old interior room- extra £25pp is taking the mick. In the morning, had breakfast which was nice then went back to the room to get ready for the spa. When we went down got told the spa closes to residents between specific areas to allow bookings in and to pay extra on top ?! Ridiculous. Taking the mick of telling guests of the own hotel they booked and paid for to come at a time convenient for them to gain more money ? Absolutely shameful. Make matters better, the sheets were dirty, itchy and makeup stained and the robes had makeup and fake tan from previous staff. disappointed. Was my last night away with my partner before I left for Australia and he stays here and we were left widely disappointed by this ‘relax, read, recover’ resort.

The room and facilities are nice but the Service is appalling. It’s such a big hotel they just seem like they can’t cope. We turned up for breakfast and were berated for not booking (no one told us to) and told we’d have to wait. We couldn’t eat dinner in the restaurant because we had t booked (no one told us to). When we checked out we tried to drop our keg off but were told to join a long queue of people waiting to check in (the room was all paid for the hotel even said in the information pack that the keys could be dropped off) and there were other things like being unable to park and the cleaners coming into the room both mornings we were there before we were ready. A shame and not what I expected for the cost.

Very much disappointed. It’s called spa hotel but it’s almost impossible to get in the spa. We managed to book one day in spa a week in advance, it was not bad, especially staying outside in the outdoor pool. The next day we tried to book a spa again - no chances for three days ahead. We tried to go to spa during so called complementary hours, which is most inconvenient time of the day - during the breakfast and dinner time. It turned out that complimentary spa is only inside, which just a swimming pool, one small jacuzzi and one infrared sauna. To go outside you should book in advance again, which is of course unavailable since they are completely occupied. It’s called a spa hotel, but besides you have to pay for the spa separately, it’s not possible to use it. I paid £450 per night for the room, ready to pay extra for the spa, but can’t use it? Room is the only thing which is ok, but I stayed in the most expensive part, I understood the rooms in other buildings are not so good. Strange thing that TV set had only few channels, no Netflix or other streaming services and all the ways to connect it from own device are blocked. I visited both restaurants - was disappointed by the food. Breakfast is not bad, but they could offer fresh orange juice, which they don’t do. I had face and feet massage (booked in advance of course) - it was slapdash work. The location is ok, had some lake view from the window, but there are a lot of hotels nearby with the same or better location. Service was ok, no complaints, but in general I am very much unsatisfied with my stay.

Stunning hotel, luxurious spa with outdoor heated pools, fire pits, cocktails, sauna and jacuzzi.

We stayed here with my two daughters for my birthday. The staff was welcoming and check in was seamless. Thank you Mohammed.! The hotel rooms were decorated nicely. Good activities nearby and the hotel has a lovely lawn right in the lake for use by guests only. Amazing view. My room was clean, spacious, and had a lovely garden view. The restaurant offered delicious meals, and the service was excellent throughout. Overall, it was the perfect place to unwind and recharge. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway!

We booked the Ultimate Spa Experience with Lunch as a birthday treat. Overall this was a positive experience but there were some negative aspects. 1. The cleanliness of the reception bathroom facilities were unacceptable 2. There was a complete lack of flexibility when offering to upgrade our drinks in the restaurant due to the “till” not having that facility, this was particularly galling given we had already purchased hot drinks on arrival and wanted a cold drink with our food. 3. Although we were told there were treats after our spa experience in the relaxation area, none were available . 4. We could not change the temperature of the showers in the changing area which fluctuated from hot to cold intermittently. 5. My partner had to wait for 30 minutes for a hairdryer to become available as there were only 2 To summarise, this experience fell short of our expectations compared to other Spa days we have enjoyed elsewhere, which left us disappointed.

We went to the spa yesterday for the Twilight Thermal journey. The spa was lovely, with fantastic facilities and nice additional touches that set it apart. The views were amazing, and it was great to be able to order drinks while sitting in an outdoor hot jacuzzi! However, there were supposed to be three of us going together, but my mum had a nasty fall. After a visit to A&E, she unfortunately wasn't well enough to join us. I had emailed the spa a couple of days before, and was told that no refund would be given because, in their words, "due to the guest cancelling within 7 days of the booking, the cost of her thermal journey is non-refundable." This would be understandable if we didn't have a valid reason or if we had a treatment booked that they were unable to fill. However, during our time at the spa, there were probably another 30-40 people there, so to hide behind their T&C's and deny us a refund was very unfair. This turned into a very expensive birthday trip to the spa, and we will think twice in the future about visiting due to their inflexibility. This was their last communication with me with regards the possibility of a refund "We do offer our flexi cover which would cover you in instances such as this, with a 24 hour prior to arrival amendment option. I can see you made your booking online and so this would have been offered within the booking process and you will also have ticked to say that you have read the terms and conditions in which our cancellation/amendment policy is stated." Really?! Such a shame that they couldn't just say sorry about your mum and yes that is fine to cancel & refund. How much better the world would be!

We did a 3hr spa day and a lunch at Blue Smoke. The spa was lovely, a beautiful setting with plenty of facilities inc: 3 pools of diff temps, sauna, steam, infrared sauna and more. Service was great, staff coming round with small tasters like ice cream and frozen watermelon which was a nice touch. The sauna was particularly cool with a great view and good music. Reason I didn’t give it 5 star is because there was no cold water plunge pool, or cold showers that actually worked to cool down after sauna, steam or the hot pool. Also, food took way too long to arrive, but complementary drinks were provided due to poor service. I’d be back, but please consider adding cold water plunge!

Care: Very busy Road between hotel & lake. Winander Club Stay: Quite envious of the reviewer who was greeted in the car park on arrival, as we weren't even greeted at the building. Our welcome consisted of a locked door with a sign telling us to go to the main building. Don't be fooled by the website image of a cosy check in on a couch with a glass of prosecco (Eventually at dinner, the restaurant reluctantly provided the welcome drink, the 'sign' was unable to provide on arrival). We spent the first 20 minutes of our stay dragging our luggage back & forth between the 2 buildings. I offered the Low Woods General Manager the opportunity to respond to my complaint by email. It never got to him, being routed instead to a junior manager with no surname, who not unsurprisingly, handled the complaint extremely unprofessionally & defensively. Apparently my dissatisfaction with the absent 'exclusive welcome' on arrival & having to drag my luggage around, was the cause of the poor check in? The Winander building is reasonably new, so as expected the decor & fabric of the building is of a high standard. The views are superb. However, the supposed exclusive service was non existent during our stay. There are many hotels in the lakes that don't feel a 'sign' is an acceptable welcome for guests & fortunately, the junior who replied to me, is quite happy for me to use them instead!

Our entire stay was perfect. The staff very friendly, the breakfast delicious. The room was flawless, with a great view. The full spa is extra, but guests can use the pool etc at specific times. We enjoyed doing the outside part early one morning, which was very reasonably priced as an extra. Plus the bar staff made us cocktails that weren't on the menu. All told, a lovely weekend. Thanks!

Beautiful views and exceptionally nice staff. It takes a while to get used to the light switches in the rooms. And since we were traveling with a tour group I found it odd they failed to give me my dessert last evening but the remainder of our tour group did get theirs.

Apparently the only purpose built hotel on the lake, but now a real eyesore and blight on the landscape.

I travel a lot but I haven't seen such a charming hotel. I recommend.

Stayed here for one night and was really impressed by the location, views and the amount of facilities in the spa (indoor and outdoor pool, a few different types of saunas, indoor and outdoor hot tubs etc). We paid extra for a lake view room and the decor was a bit more dated than I was expecting. It’s also worth noting that between the hotel and the lake is the main road, and the windows aren’t double-glazed so you can hear traffic pretty clearly (and we weren’t there in high-season when it’ll be even louder I assume). We had lunch in the restaurant as part of the spa package which was really good, and breakfast was good too. However we ordered two cocktails in the bar and service charge was added without asking (and it was for bar service, not even table service!) which was really cheeky. All in all though, a good stay. Definitely the best view from a sauna I’ve ever had!

Location ideal ,staff very attentive and friendly. Food in w restaurant was fabulous and surroundings beautiful. Breakfast good selection and service excellent .loved the pool early morning and 530 to 730 was so relaxing and again attentive staff .definitely be returning .

Nice mix of ancient and modern. Lovely spot for a short Lakeside break. Highlight for us was the friendliness of the bar staff. Keep it up Harry and Daniil!

Very disappointing. An expensive disappointment. Booked via website then any communication to them was impossible. Spa access very limited unless you paid extra for 3hours limit. Food was appaulling in the hotel restaurant [not Blue Smoke one]. Breakfast was ok. Room wasn't that clean and no Netflix or similar on TV. Nobody interested when complaining at reception. Have stayed there before but really gone downhill.

Highly recommend this spa and the savoury afternoon tea! The views were incredible and staff were always willing to help. I had a 50 minute treatment from Charlotte which was one of the best I’ve ever had!

I can’t recommend this place enough. We stayed for 2 nights and it was fabulous. Beautiful & immaculately clean rooms and the spa was great. A wonderful location and stunning views. But best thing about Low Wood Bay was the staff, every single one of them was so polite and friendly and genuinely couldn’t do enough for you. I will definitely be going back!

Update - A month has gone by and still no contact from the hotel despite the assurances of staff. Singularity unimpressed. Not great. The photos say it all. Dirty toilet with stained manufacturer's label, dirty finger marks on the bathroom wall, bathroom light broken, heater not working, dirty replacement heater, and the final insult - a dribble of a shower. We were told by reception staff that we would be compensated but after two weeks we have had no communication from any hotel rep. This stay was an expensive disappointment. Clearly the photos show a lack of attention to detail across the board, by management, housekeeping, and maintenance. What the photos can't show is the bathroom extractor that sounded like a fairground generator and, when water did come out of the shower, it was tepid at best. We had spent the day sailing the Low Wood Bay Dehler Varianta 18 on Windermere. We returned expecting a hot shower. Luke warm was what we got. On the positive side, when the shower gave up completely I was offered the use of the spa shower at the other end of the hotel by reception. However, the spa manager took a bit of convincing that I should be allowed a shower. My determined perseverance (and the spa manager's call to reception) was rewarded with the only hot shower at the hotel. An expensive two night stay that should have been comfortable and enjoyable was not either

Very nice place,kind staff.The only bad point is it was so difficult to book a twilight spa.I've tried to ring them about 30times,sent a message on facebbok,but no reply.I had to drive there and book personally.But everything was great when we spent the Valentine's day there.

Absolutely everything about my spa day was wonderful. I've been to a few 5 star spa venues but this place beats them hands down. Staff were lovely, attentive and visible, the spa was busy enough to be fun and sociable and quiet enough for every area of the spa to be accessible. The setting is stunning. Loved being served cocktails outside in the warm infinity pool overlooking Lake Windermere. And then the woodfired cream tea - wow. We had the veggie version and devoured the lot (didn't eat for 24 hours after, I was so full 🤣) This place is now on my treat list and I'll be back.
