I've been going to the fish bar for so many years the and the food was fantastic Now its been sold And with all new Businesses I want to give them a chance, so... I can confirm the food is dreadful I've had it 4 times And it's been really bad Everything was under cooked, even the chips and on the last time it made me very unwell and was vomiting from fish chips and curry sauce. It's such a shame because this was a fantastic chippy Hopefully it can improve 🙏🏾

Staff don’t speak to each other, I ordered chicken tikka donner, chips and curry, they served regular chicken donner, when I asked about it there was no apologies just said it will take 5 minutes for the other Service was awful, long waiting time, and you could cut the atmosphere with a knife

Called in Tuesday evening, for the first time since the new owner took over. Ordered a large haddock which there was a wait for but worth the wait as its cooked fresh. Chips were also fresh and not just kept warm. The lady who served me was lovely, very friendly and welcoming. See you next week

Very disappointed. Fish and batter soggy. Chips not the same. We have moved this side of Chesterfield a year ago. Thought what a good find . Beautiful fish and chips. Not anymore. Very disappointed

We used to love this chippy but after the owners left and the new ones came in it went down hill massively! My chips was undercooked and the fish cakes wasn’t nice, will not be coming here again which it’s a shame because it was really nice before the new owners came along!

Well I’ve been going to this Chippy for 14 years the young Cypriot couple have left and new owners took over I met the new man in the first week wishing him all the best. I must admit my first couple of orders was not as good as the previous owners but I put it down to teething problems. I use it twice a week mainly at lunch times and sometimes in the evening if grandkids were about. I always had the same lunch either Pie Special or fish special. The fish special consists of small fish chips and mushy peas, I always asked the previous owners for the peas separate as I don’t like them slopped on the top, I like to present it on the plate nicely for 14 years this has not been an issue. Last week I called in fish special please can I have the peas separately? You can said the lady but I will have to charge you for a further portion of peas as your not having them altogether ie full price for fish special without the peas and then full price for a portion of peas. Now I can understand there is extra cost providing the extra tub and some other chip shops charge you a token 10p for the tub that is quite acceptable. I asked for my money back and left without a meal and I won’t be going back. It was always my favourite local chippy but now I’ll go to the “Union Jack”

Have to say since the previous managers have left it’s really gone down hill. This used to be a fantastic chippy but now it’s really not. The service is good staff are polite but the standard of the food has really dropped . Such a shame

Went here because usual place shut on Monday lunchtime, wish I hadn’t. Admittedly we were getting pies for a change based on where we usually go as they are always nice, but these were soggy and half cooked, and the chips not the best either. I appreciate the low traffic period doesn’t tend to give you the best but it’s been a while since I binned my meal. In future I’ll avoid Monday lunchtimes and stick to my usual chippy.

Gravy that thin it ran out of the box, through the paper n onto my car seat. In edible food

My lovely local fish and chip shop. The food is always hot and there is always plenty of it. They sometimes run out of a certain thing, but they do try to provide you with an alternative. You can order for collection which is very useful and they take card payments. Keep doing what you do!

Best Yorkshire fishcakes in Brampton, been up here visiting for a 2 weeks and had 5, sadly heading back south tomorrow, but back up in 10 days, Yes I will be visiting again, thank you to all Mark

It’s not the first time I’ve had to throw my chips straight in the bin, totally inedible served rock hard, like they had been double fried, I will never use this place again!

Amazing stuff and service. Very polite and helpful. The food is amazing. Had the haddock skinless and a sausage. 10/10 would recommend, i will be back for sure.

Cost over £17 for mini fish, chips and curry twice Got home and opened it only to see a fish that looked like a battered sausage as it was that small and thin. About 20 chips underneath with a small amount of curry. Rip off Britain at its best. Don't deserve custom Disgusting

We always go here for our chippie tea even though it's not the closest chippie. Food is always well cooked and tasty. Love it.

We go for convenience more than anything when we're tired after work. We order chicken kabab meat, salad, chilli sauce and chips. For some reason we are always waiting ages and every one who comes in after us gets served before us. The past 3 times there's always been a problem with our order. Today they gave us donner meat instead of chicken. Last time no salad and the time before it was swimming in chilli sauce and to hot to be able to eat it. I think its time to go further afield tired or not.

They cook to order but it's worth the wait enjoyable food

Best fish and chips in chesterfield! Simple as Edit : it has been my place of choice for years unfortunately, the past two times I've been there the prices were significantly more and the fish and chips were disappointing.

Perfectly cooked cod and the chips was perfect staff was polite I can recommend them for perfect large cod and chip's I will be going again 🐟

Recently moved to the area, I thought I'd give them ago. Was not disappointed. Their chips are great and the fish was brilliant. Ive since been back a few times amd won't go anywhere else

Very nice fish and chips 🍟 😋 happy customers. The fish cake was, according to my other half, an actual fish cake with actual fish in it...!! Other chippies around don't compare to the value 😋

Kebab's OK but I've found that the fish portion sizes are very underwhelming and more batter than fish a lot of the time. Wouldn't mind this so much but the batter has almost always been rather soggy (almost eggy) and it's not always agreed with us. Chips don't feel like they're fried well enough and could use a little more time to cook.

I drive from across the other side of town to get our fish and chips every week. The cod is beautiful everytime. I won't go anywhere else

Food is just ok....chip portion sizes are poor. You get twice as many for less at North Sea Fish Bar which is superior. £2.60 for a large portion which is smaller than a small portion from NSFB. Gone downhill since Jimmy left! I would travel out and find a better chippy if I were you

Under the current management the food is usually really good. The chips are generally lovely and the sausages and sides are good too. Haven’t had a cod for a while but when I did it was very nice. One star off for long waiting times, had to wait over 5 minutes just for mushy peas.

Absolutely disgusting every time to be fair. Chips are never cooked properly. got to be the worst chippy in chesterfield without doubt. I won't be lazy again and will travel in future for sure as the one near big tescos is amazing

Awful. order all wrong robbed me of 1.50 by not giving my some of the food asked for batter bits and didn't get them said no tomatos got them ask for a little sauce and it was covered ruined my cob. Avoid at all cost

Food is horrible donner meat like cardboard and burnt. Pie had been microwaved so it was soggy curry just came out in one blob not good waste of money will not be going again will be adding photos soon
