Loughs Home Bakery in Scottish Borders

Not the first visit to Lough's and it certainly won't be our last! The staff are really friendly and helpful, plenty choice of cakes and bakes available too. I always get a couple of sweet treats when I am there. I also got a bloomer loaf this time around and found it all reasonably priced. Well worth a visit if you have a sweet tooth!

Really friendly business that serves excellent food, really great quality rolls, savouries and cakes. Recommend you drop in when in town :)

Crikey. you've not had bread until you have came here. Get here early on a Saturday morning, purchase 6 morning rolls, and try not to eat them on the way back to wherever you stay. Go on, I dare you. After you've demolished the rolls, pop back for a doughnut or two, and try not to get another 5 when you're finished.

Stopped off in Eyemouth for a late morning walk on our way home from Scotland. Picked up a lovely cinnamon and apple cake, a scone a lovely hot coffee and a bacon butty … we ate the cake and the butty looking out to sea and I took the scone home …. Lovely baked goods … would recommend ☕️

This little bakery is a gem! The steak and haggis pies are to die for, so much that we took some home with us, bread is gorgeous and desserts are yummy, can’t wait to revisit soon.

What a quality bakers this is, we always call on our weeks stay nearby at colenia dene, the corned beef pasties are amazing, cheese and onion pastie hubby likes and scones, pies lovely too, always bring lots of bread buns back to freeze at home too, glad we dont live nearer or be going up a dress size be back next aug, lisa, stephen ncle

We had a selection of cakes and they were all amazing! Hubby says it's the best cakes he has ever eaten...and he's eaten a lot! Everything was so light and fresh, with very fair prices especially considering how large the portions are. I had a gammon salad roll which was delicious, everything was just so tasty & fresh. We will definitely be going out our way to go back here on our next trip to Edinburgh ( yes it's that good!)

Friendly staff and a great selection of hot and cold food also an extensive choice of cakes the Carmel cake was superb, definitely worth visiting

Well presented & safely sealed in box along with a list of all that was enclosed...*Selection of multigrain sandwiches*Steak pies*Sausage rolls*Quiche*Savoury/sweet scones with pot of jam & butter*Selection of 4 cakes All freshly made & tasted delicious & plenty of everything.Can't recommend enough as a lovely gift or just a well deserved treat but also just for your daily baker selection.

Small bakery with quality products at good prices. Very fresh. Didn’t sample the cakes but they looked amazing. Scones huge. Rolls lovely.

Visited here by chance as was out for a stroll from the caravan park for rolls, bought enough for weekend plus vanilla slices and both were fantastic. We returned on the monday before we left for home for pies and bakes.

Best ever ever ever EVER! Almond tart I have tasted in my life. A 400mile round trip would pale into significance with one of these waiting for me.

For anyone visiting Eyemouth, a visit to this family bakery is a must. The variety of pies, pastries and cakes is unbelievable! The prices are so very reasonable too! The two ladies serving were so very friendly, and the bakery was spotlessly clean!

Enjoyed a walk around Eyemouth and happened to see a sign on the beach to a bakery so thought we'd go check it out, and we're very glad we did!Lovely small bakery (takeaway only, no seating) with an amazing selection of sweet treats (I think they had some savoury too but to be honest I was just looking at the cakes!)I got the apple and cinnamon slice which was amazing. A lovely giant rectangular shape of very soft lovely cake with a very nice flavour and white icing on top. My wife got the mint slice which was kind of like a millionaires shortbread with biscuit and a layer of mint. This was also really nice.The price, quality and taste of what we got was perfect and highly recommend anyone visiting the area to stop in here to get some sweet treats.

A visit to Eyemouth isn’t complete without a visit to Lough’s. Up early I popped in for breakfast for me (Americano and bacon and sausage doubler). And got treats for later in the day, I bought chocolate doughnuts for the children and an almond slice for The Mrs and an orange and chocolate slice for me.The doughnuts didn’t last long enough to be photographed!

Met with friendly staff, food was delicious, and we even went back to get some food to take home too. Highly recommend the steak pies, sausage rolls, broccoli and cheese quiches and the take away rolls. Everything tasted amazing! Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Local bakery offering tasty cakes, pasties, pies and sandwiches went down a treat with me and my family.

Just called in to buy a cappuccino and asked for the price, was told £1.80 but they wanted cash only. So went outside and got £2 off my husband. When I went back in a different staff member asked for £2.20. I told her I’d been told £1.80, then the original woman who’d given me that price said something about that I’d had a “deluxe” one?......then asked the girl how much I was giving her and then told her to just take the £2. No apology, no explanation and no change given. Also the girl serving pressed the lid down on the coffee herself with gloved hands, so no awareness of contamination at all. Plastic gloves do NOT protect from covid 19.

We were recently down in Eyemouth and popped into this lovely wee home bakery, best decision we ever made! They sell the best morning rolls we have ever tasted. We bought quite a few other items and everything was delicious. Wish is was closer to home, will visit again soon and buy extra for the freezer. The lovely lady who served us knew all about the products and was so helpful. You don't get service like that in the supermarket, thank you so much!

Doesn’t matter if it’s just popping in for a coffee or purchasing something more substantial for breakfast or getting things for a picnic. We always get something from Loughs when in Eyemouth.

Lough’s is the best bakery we have ever come across. Top quality, great prices, lovely customer service. Nothing better than a custard slice with a cup of coffee sitting on the lovely beach. We take loads of stuff home and it all freezes brilliantly.

If you visit Eyemouth you must try the cakes and bread from Loughs. They are gorgeous and the staff are very friendly too!

Visited here whilst on holiday. We had the sausage , cheese and bean pasties for lunch which were superb. We also bought a chia loaf , wow beautiful tasting. and the banana and toffee cupcakes and the apple and cinnamon cake were sublime. Wish we had a Lough's at home.

Definitely worth an early morning shop to get morning rolls !! There are lots of other mouth watering things available to but the rolls are just the best !!

Always wonderful smells wafting out of the door. Excellent bread, cakes pies (hot or cold) etc. Freshly brewed coffee tea and cold drinks for take away too..

Bought lunch snacks when with my Australian friends. All very tasty. Bit over the top price wise but it is holiday season. Would use again.

Up at colenia dene we called in what a lovely old fashioned, traditional bakers bought some savouries and bread buns , delicious 😋. Defo be calling again next august x. Nice friendly staff also 😍

I’ve been coming to this bakery for years with my family when visiting Eyemouth. Highlights are the steak pies, delicious. So much so we’ve brought a cool box to take some home!

Good choice of home made cakes and breads, Almond tart worth a try if you like this type of tart also vanilla slices.

bought two cakes from this baker, a wheaten scone and a vanilla slice. Price was very good, size of scone was huge, three sittings to eat it, vanilla slice was eating in one sitting by my Husband. he loved it

Popped in for a cake to go with coffee recently. Had the caramel shortbread and would recommend highly. So much choice!

Popped in here this morning for a coffee, bought a red velvet muffin and a cup cake. Very nice. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Prices reasonable. Worth a visit.

By far the best home bakery I've ever been to, have tried most of their products from the bread to the cakes which are all beautiful

Delicious pasties and equally delicious hot chocolate & latte was purchased here and eaten whilst sat on the lovely sea front. They were so nice that it delayed our cycling trip to St Abbs Head, we had to cycle back in the dark - yikes!!

As regular visitors to eyemouth we always love to take some of Loughs lovely pies and pasties back to Newcastle and I've got to say that the breakfast wrap is to die for, lovley staff and great value.

This has been my local bakery for years now and always will be. Everything is just so fresh and the bread is just so irresistible not to mention all the scones and cakes in front of you but the rolls are just out of this world. Has never tasted any rolls like it anywhere else. And if you catch a smell of the place outside it just drags you in!

Fantastic, fresh, delicious, old time favorites with some new ones added now thank you to this bakery. As I was on my first morning going walk on our visit I could smell the baking waft down the street and I knew I had to get some fresh start ones and rolls for breakfast. This was followed up by daily visits on our vacation for pastries, meals and more.

local bakery all items made in house ,steak pies are one of the best you can buy , morning rolls taste lovely as well , also loads of cakes etc look and taste delicious .not the cheapest goods in town though.well worth a try.

The quiches were brilliant, steak and pepper bake, sausage roll and the vanilla and custard slices were mmm so yummy as an after lucnh delight will certainly shop here again when in Eyemouth

Good to see a traditional bakery but get in early as they sell out quite quickly during the summer months Great bread different breads each day. Rolls are also very nice.

Nothing like a trendy 'artisan' baker but good,solid packing up bread at reasonable prices. Five daily specials - pick up a laminated card with what to expect for the rest of your stay.

Best Bread Rolls in the area ,and I travelled quite a way to get them having tasted them years ago .They did not let me down delicious,Also a brilliant selection of bread cakes pies home made at its best.

We picked up some sausage rolls and doughnuts for our trip to the beach and we weren't disappointed. The sausage rolls were huge and were a meal in themselves! The doughnuts were fresh and light - melt in the mouth. We're going back tomorrow :o)

By far the best source of fresh bread on the Eyemouth area. Always visit when I'm in the area. Terrific range of rolls and loaves, I'm particularly fond of the hard-fired style!

We shopped here several times. Bread is fresh if a bit doughy. The almond tart is superb. The window display tempts one in.

Can't believe the prices they charge here but I suppose it's because it's the only baker in Eyemouth. Pies around 45p more than anywhere else and the same for cakes. Not enough meat in the pies either. I think it's a real shame when places overcharge like this. Won't be back.
