Lotus Restaurant & Take-Away in Carmarthenshire

Just had a Chinese meal here with the missus. Food was genuinely the nicest Chinese meal I've had it wasn't oily or dirty it was cooked beautifully! Portion sizes were perfect and to top it off the owner was so friendly, had a good 20 minute chat and made us feel so welcome. It also overlooks Pendine sands beach so the restraunt has a sea view! If you're staying in Pendine sands park dean caravan park GET TO THIS RESTRAUNT and enjoy :)

First visit here, at first we thought it was only open for take-a-way but we were so glad we decided to go upstairs and have a look... We felt welcome when we were greeted and shown to a window seat table with a fantastic view of the beach, the room was spotless and warm on a chilly day. We chose the Vegetable Curry with Rice and Chips at a very reasonable price £8 each along with coffee and after the meal a bottle of Coca Cola. The curry was definitely the best we've ever had 😍. I think it would be a good idea if they put a picture of inside the restaurant room outside for people to see how good it is. This is definitely a 5* Restaurant

Best chinease I've had in years!

I’m just moved to pendine and Chinese is my favourite and when I heard there was one not to far from me I had to try it and I am very impressed with it the food is delicious and the gentleman serving me was really kind and professional

Very small portion size for the price and not much sauce either, also could be hotter.

All of the staff are really friendly and cheerful, they made us feel like the most important customers in the world. Great choice of menu and all the food was beautiful and freshly prepared and tasted wonderful. We are already booked in again in the near future and fully recommend anyone to go there for a great meal.

Excellent food again. Have enjoyed meals here over several years, ranging from quiet dinner for 2, to larger family groups. Daytime lunch with wonderful views across Pendine beach, or evening dinner with cosy atmosphere - Always had very good food that looks appetising & tastes excellent. Genuinely friendly & helpful staff - always a good welcome. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed our meals here, consistently high standards, always worth the trip out.

This is a local restaurant that cooks outstanding Chinese and Asian food. The food is always fresh and well cooked and the staff are always friendly and helpful. It is a true hidden gem! It has a beautiful view across the sea and so it is very popular with people staying at the local holiday sites. If you're visiting in the summer - expect to book early as it will be very busy. We always visit from Carmarthen as its worth a drive for excellent food. Prices are reasonable and my wife is vegetarian. The restaurant offers a great vegetarian menu, including plant based crispy duck with pancakes! Which is my wife's favourite.

We have eaten from here a few times. Once in the restaurant and maybe 5 or 6 times from the takeaway. The portion sizes are quite small for the price and the food was usually nice. I usually have the duck and enjoy it. We have had crispy chilli beef this evening and I was so disappointed. There was no beef in the batter and I honestly couldn't believe it. Things have gone steadily down hill I'm afraid and that was the last time we will be eating from here. The staff have always been pleasant and polite. The restaurant is in a beautiful setting. The beach views are beautiful. So many positives but unfortunately the food just isn't up to scratch anymore. Sorry.

Best Chinese takeaway we have had ! We had the £60 set meal , they were super and swapped out all the prawn dishes as I'm pregnant. Phenomenal food absolutely loved it.

Had a fab gluten free noodle 🍜 dish. I haven't eaten Chinese noodles for 8 years. The staff are very friendly and knowledge and they have a gluten free menu. Amazing place. Tx

Excellent food and views over the beach. Looks expensive inside but prices are not. Figuring out how to get to park in front of it was quite tricky. And confusing because it says pay and display, which I've never seen for a restaurant. I went inside and asked and the lady behind the desk said there was no need to pay, but I think it would make me a bit nervous if it had been during daytime in the summer season in case I got a ticket. They were out of the starter we wanted but the chicken and pineapple was absolutely delicious. ***They do NOT take credit cards. *** First restaurant I've eaten at that doesn't. Overseas visitors who might get debit card usage charges when they get home beware. We only just had enough cash on us. This review would have been 4-5 stars if not for that

We started coming here back in 2019 and the food used to be alot better. Last year I felt it had gone down hill and this year not much improvement. If it wasn't for the lack of choice of eateries in pendine I probably wouldn't have given them a second chance. Some dishes are better than others...the main thing that let's food down is how watery it all is and the 'plum sauce' is a yellow coloured pot of slightly lemon flavour water. Good points :- the prawns aren't overcooked 😏 I guess that's something.

Sad and expensive experience was told at 6.15 we only had till 8pm absolutely fine but we're told at 7.40 another party needed our table food came out very slowly and not altogether so a lot was cold the two Chinese ladies were very rude very cold and very abrupt, there was 1 young small white girl with blond hair trying to do everything she was lovely, would never go back apparently they always overbook so take your money and good bye so would never ever return.

Average food here with a typical Chinese takeaway menu in a dine-in restaurant so nothing special. The sharer starter was mixed vegtable rolls, prawn toasts etc which looked and tasted like a supermarket frozen pack. Service wasn’t particularly friendly which was the most off-putting factor. The venue are particular about the cards they accept i.e. no credit cards as it costs them too much in fees, but they don’t advertise this which can be a problem for those accommodating business meetings etc.

We have just had an excellent meal .Some of our party have allergies ,the proprietor could not do enough to help and took a great deal of time and care to try and add to our experience even though being so busy as to be bringing in tables from outside so her customers were not disappointed. We will unquestionably return soon. I would also mention that the quality was excellent as was the value in these tricky times.

Great chinese restaurant, tucked away and a hidden gem in Pendine. We had a walk on the beach and had the dog with us, so ordered a takeaway and went and got a beer locally.

This was the first time we had eaten here and visited as a birthday celebration. The view is spectacular and the food delicious. Service was excellent from everybody that served us, please pass on our special thanks to the young waiter who was very friendly and was working so hard. As we are local we will definitely be back.

Firstly and mostly importantly the food here is excellent . Dined here several times and never ever had a bad meal , really good quality , tasty dishes which are well cooked and full of flavour . Definitely the best place to eat in Pendine by a mile . This is the reason we keep coming back & will continue to dine here . However, recently we have experienced some quite poor customer service which has affected our dining experience, which I’d like to highlight . The owner is great , attentive and a real professional, as are many of the younger waiting staff . However a mature female staff member (presumably the restaurant manager) has come across quite abruptly , at times verging on rude. In addition, on 3 separate occasions we have felt very rushed , plates being cleared whilst still eating and generally feeling under pressure to eat up and leave. Resulting in a not very relaxed evening. This is such a shame as the restaurant is in a superb location , it’s spotlessly clean and the chefs certainly know how to cook great food . Would love to give it 5 stars but some staff are letting the place down a bit and I’d love to see that bit improve .

Appalling service, horrible attitude on the staff. wouldn’t bother going just to ruin your night by the arrogance of the staff and the food, No taste to the food. Rice did not get delivered so had to drive back. Food was also cold. Do not recommend this !

Ordered a takeaway, the man who took our order couldn’t get off the phone quick enough without reading the order back, when picking it up and getting home we realised food was missing. Calling back to say food was missing he said he didn’t even add it to our order, not helpful at all and will not be eating there or having a takeaway again.

Popped in for a takeaway after seeing the great reviews and wasn't disappointed. When I went upstairs for the takeaway I was blown away by the amazing view of the beach from large picture windows it must be the best view from a Chinese restaurant in the UK. The takeaway was delicious and when I haven't got grandchildren with me I will definitely be back to the restaurant. Highly recommended.

Great place. They are way ahead of every other restaurant in the area when it comes to vegan options. They had plenty of options that were vegan and they genuinely seemed to care about making sure everything we got was definitely vegan which I haven't experienced anywhere else. I didn't have my normal moments of questioning whether everything was actually vegan because of that. Highly reccomend whatever your dietary requirements are. Very accommodating

Lots of choice for vegetarians. The prices were very reasonable considering the location. I will certainly be calling ot frequently when af my caravan. Highly recommended thanks.

Had a takeaway when I was at my caravan in Pendine Sands on Hotrods weekend as hadn't booked a table. The food was amazing, so fresh and tasty. I was very impressed with how lovely it was at a very reasonable price. I will most certainly be visiting regularly from now on when I am there.

Had a takeaway from Lotus pendine chips tasted like last weeks chicken balls were bland curry sauce wasn't to bad we had 4 small meat pancake rolls they were terrible. My partner had chicken chow mein she told me that it was disgusting

Food is absolutely fabulous here. Not expensive and freshly cooked. If you are booked in to Pendine Sands Holiday Park, I thoroughly recommend this place, it is only a 5 to 10 minute walk (depending on where you are on the park) and the staff are so friendly and helpful

Had a super evening spent at the Lotus Restaurant. The 'Owner' was so welcoming and friendly when we arrived. We hadn't booked and although the restaurant was very busy we just timed it right as she quickly made up a table right by the window which had vacated , so were able to enjoy the fabulous views over the beach. The menu was very clear and prices good. There was 3 adults, so had 2 starters which we shared, 1 rice, 1 chips and 4 main dishes. The food was really really good we just couldn't manage to eat it all. The bill came to £66 with 3 drinks. Wish we had such a nice place nearer as would certainly go back with no hesitation. Best meal we had on holiday. I would recommend you book as its very popular. Great place well done Lotus ...

Hidden Gem 💎❤️ Looked for a Chinese restaurant which catered for gluten free options in a group of seven. Location is slightly set back off main road overlooking the beach and the vantage point is what sets this restaurant apart from others the view is amazing from all of the restaurant overlooking the ocean we sat watching the sun go down as the tide came in. We had not prebooked (which I recommend as this place is popular) we were told we could be accommodated in 30 minutes. This was fine for a stroll and returned at the appointed time. Great selection of food with set menu meal offers for groups of two or more. Free prawn crackers accompanied our food. The food is delicious with clean flavours. We tried set menus and was not disappointed. We loved all of the food and no doubt will return ❤️. One suggestion is to have a billboard advertising the restaurant on the main road with a direction sign as driving or walking through on the main road you do not know it is there.

Waitress was very rude, could do with different staff and perhaps some background music to create an atmosphere.

Myself and my family have our own caravan based in Pendine Sands and the lotus is always our favourite place to eat whenever we are on our holidays. The food is delicious and the staff are always polite and helpful by always recommending new foods for us to try! Before eating in the Lotus for the first time when they opened in 2018 my Chinese plate from the local takeaway was plain, ever since coming here my love for asian foods have been widened and i no long just eat what some people would call the ‘usual’ takeaway ! Would highly recommend if your in the area and love the thought of asian cuisine by the most beautiful view!

Fantastic experience eating at the lotus in pendine last night!! Me and all family catered for(vegetarian,12 year old,and a fussy eater) have eaten in here's 3 nights and have enjoyed all the food I've ordered. Toilets really clean and fantastic service.thank you. Alfie and family

Very disappointed visited while I was on holiday for a take away at 7.45pm just to be told that they was so busy in the kitchen and no orders was being taken and told to come back in a hour so I left it a hour when I went back it had closed on the take away door so I was very disappointed by this y tell me to come back in a hour I won't go there when I am on holidays again

We went to Lotus Restaurant today ( 25 Apr 2023 ) about 5.15pm. The staff were all very very friendly and helpful. Service was quick and the starters and main meals were beautiful, really tasty and piping hot and appealing. The dining area was spotless...

Nice restaurant with an amazing view out to sea. Overall the food was good quality and tasty, portions a little small perhaps. The person taking our order was slightly grumpy and impatient with my partner who's first language isn't English. Then when she explained that she has a shellfish allergy it was dismissed and quicky followed by the other server plonking a plate of prawn crackers on the table, which I enjoyed but wasn't really fair on my partner.
