Lotus in Purbeck

Love this restaurant. Love the view, the ambience, atmosphere, friendliness, great service and most of all.. Great food. Really fresh, hot, delicious. Can't wait till next visit.

Used to be good hadn't been for a while but needed some food whilst in town. Ordered chicken balls, came slopping with oil and horrible . Special chowmein. Must have been veggie night as sod all meat in it. And chicken wings which were OK to be fair Cost was high for an almost inedible meal.

Lotus used to be the best in town for years. However, now not so good. One day its good then other times very bad. The breaded chicken strips didn't have chicken in them, the ribs were not tender like before. Other local people have said its gone downhill recently. Won't go again. Shame

Brilliant takeaway, especially Singapore Chow Mein - loved it! My wife had Chicken with water chestnuts and bamboo shoots with fried rice and she loved hers too.

Absolutely love this Chinese the food is always so yummy, and excellent value for money. Staff are always friendly highly recommended.

Ordered a takeaway for collection and have to say was very impressed with the quality of the food the chicken balls were the best we have had for a very long time. Unfortunately they forgot our ribs though

I eated a burger all by myself it was so yummy 10/10 recommend burger and I eat bread also bread was yum and water too.

Curry was bland and slimey. Fried rice like rice pudding. Had to throw the whole meal away. Not only a waste of money but also hate food waste.

Absolutely disgusting! Beef chow mein is burned! It stinks of burned food! Salt and pepper beef has NO beef in at all! Shoddy effort! WORST CHINESE RESTAURANT IVE EVER BEEN TOO! Avoid!

It is not possible that takeaway food could be surpassed in my local area, however the absence of smaller set meals, the food at the Lotus is second to none, of the 7 choices we made, they were all exquisite but the salt and pepper chips are the best I have ever tasted! With the pleasant and welcoming staff you could not ask for more, Well Done

A dccent Chinese takeaway - prompt friendly service and decent food. Those craving authenticity (whatever that is) are missing the point.

Food came out in less than 5 min and it showed. Beef curry looked and tasted awful, they dont know what a chicken satay is as its just mainly veg (hardly any chicken) not in a peanut sauce. Also disgusting. The "special" rice they offer is just a bunch of other dishes wacked on some rice, had to drown in soy sauce to make it edible. Avoid this place at all costs theres a miles better place across the street, but as we were in a rush so we had to settle for sh*t. Disgusting meal on everyones part. Save your money and dont go, just wait for the place across the street. The picture below is a "chicken satay" excuse me wheres the chicken? Maybe 4 pieces in the entire dish.

We’ve used this place for years and it is with no pleasure that I write this review. We’ve seen this for a while and it’s getting worse but our beef curry is really a mushroom and onion curry. Massively disappointing, the servings were always good here but now the value is getting questionable? We don’t want to change but we will if this doesn’t improve!

Half decent chinise, average portion size & good menu to choose from. Food came quick and was open on a Monday.

We were on holiday @ Wareham Forest Lodge Retreat & found this Chinese take away which was only an 8 minute drive away. Great service & great food. Will definitely be returning when visiting the local area.

Service is good. Portions have become really small over the years and the black bean sauce chicken we ordered only had about 3 pieces of chicken and tasted absolutely terrible - just full of salt. Will not be ordering from here again. Chicken balls just tasted of fat and the rice was clumpy.

It's not hard to answer a question of what food we have ordered when you have a lady telling you which rice you have picked even though we explained in detail what ingredients the dish consists of! We then went back to pick up the correct ordered food with explained ingredients and they still gave us the wrong dish? #stupid

Not much different from the KW, has go down hill over the last decade. If, and I say IF, you really need to eat here. Probably beef curry is ok.

Recently moved toWareham and tonight tried out this Chinese for a takeaway. It was disgusting. I had to spit the "chicken" balls out as they tasted so processed and nothing like chicken. The satay sauce and chicken tasted nothing of satay and again not proper chicken. The Singapore noodles were not made with the correct noodles and they had zero taste. The only thing that was ok was the prawn crackers! Avoid avoid avoid!

3 meals ordered the chicken was nice and the chilli beef. This was totally let down by the white and clumpy under cooked fried rice

Probado este lugar de vacaciones, a su llegada el personal donde todo inglés y educado. Me sorprendió descubrir que no venden gambas seseame en tostadas. Tuve Singapur arroz frito y era decepcionante sólo sosa. Teníamos un tema que faltaba, que era un curry salsa de bañera para niños no estaban impresionados. Las patatas fritas eran bien. Estoy seguro de que hay mejores lugares en y alrededor de esa zona. Ahorra tu dinero.

Ahora no somos viejos pero nos acaba de entrar en el soporte de 50 años de edad'. Hemos tenido miles de sitios de China en nuestro tiempo. En esta edad sabes lo que vas a pedir y tienden a jugar seguro, con lo que sabe. Esta fue posiblemente la peor comida china que he probado en mucho tiempo. Pollo kung - más po castañas de agua y de anacardo de pollo y más ajo en un plato que hemos consumido este año

I have called here every Monday night for several months and the food is always excellent quality, value and taste. They do a really good Chowmein but the curries and other Chinese cuisine is all very good. Well worth a visit if in the area.

El Lotus es sin duda la mejor comida para llevar china he encontrado en Dorset. Recientemente me he jubilado como empleado de la ciudad de Wareham y esta fue mi comida para llevar local, a una corta distancia del Ayuntamiento en pie. En 11 años, puedo decir sinceramente que nunca tuvimos una mala comida. Las instalaciones son limpias, ordenadas, dirigido por una familia y siempre una bienvenida muy amable, además de un hermoso calendario gratis si sucede el Año Nuevo Chino. No entiendo comentarios sobre sosa, insípida comida para llevar - prueba los otros en la ciudad y puedes pensar de nuevo! La casa Curry es mi favorita, y las costillas de repuesto son increíbles, y no te olvides del rollo muy sabroso grande Pancake. Altamente recomendado, todos los lugareños me encanta, soy todavía un local, no hagas caso a nadie - ¡pruébalo!

Desde el año pasado se muda a Bovington este ha sido nuestro ir a China. Hemos probado otros cerca pero regresando a éste. La comida muy buena, las porciones decentes.

Very reliable chinese take away that offers all the usual chinese food. Taste is great, service is good with all meals ready very quickly even at busy times.

Very bland. Only just reasonable amount of duck. Over powered by bean sprouts and onions. A few mushrooms and no colour at all. No greens or carrot. Sauce very watery . Dull egg fried rice. Whole meal tasteless.

This place was humming with locals, which is a good sign. The take away was clean, with two Brit girls running the tills. Service was quick and more importantly the food was tasty. Chicken chow main under £5. Starters are quite limited - spring rolls, prawn crackers and some cabbage type affair deep fried. Up a side street with parking on double yellows outside.

We were suspicious when a three piece meal only took 2 minutes to get to us, then we realized why. The food was incredibly under cooked. We ordered off the chicken menu and the chicken came uncooked and it was like jelly. The sauce was watered down and lacking any taste (I think it was cheap watered down plum sauce when it was supposed to be sweet and sour) We ordered a chicken and mushroom meal and only received one piece of jelly-like chicken in the meal. The meal tasted like it had been re-heated and was someones left overs. Do yourself a favor and go round the corner to the chinese by the water front, way better value for money and way better food.

We were staying near Wareham in our caravan. We had a takeaway from Lotus. It was excellent, hot and very good quality, service was great, friendly staff and quite a short wait. Highly recommend this takeaway. Will visit again if we come to Wareham

Lovely clean shop, pleasant staff, not the usual starters available. Food freshly cooked, but nothing exceptional. Waited for the food to be cooked and ready in 15 minutes. I wouldn't make a special effort to go back again.

Service was speedy, our food arrived quickly and it tasted great! The staff were friendly and helpful, and there were comfy chairs to sit in while we waited for our meal to be cooked. Lovely atmosphere too.

We were on holiday staying at Hunters moon caravan site and decided to have a chinese takeaway found this one not far from sainsbury's, food was delicious and very freindly staff, both of us had a chicken dish which was lovely and tender,first time we have had a chinese takeaway from home and enjoyed it as you are always used to using your local one .

Came here whilst staying for a few days in Wareham.The food was quick and I had no complaints. Overall not a bad place.

Popped in on a Saturday night for a take away for 5. Great service and not a very long wait for the food. Food was excellent too. Would definitely go again.

My wife and I were staying in Wareham on a short break and came across the Lotus quite by accident having just finished walking the Walled Walk. We were immediately impressed with how clean and tidy the premises were and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We ordered two prawn curries with egg fried rice. The food was well cooked and really tasty especially the REAL mushrooms.Well done everybody. Excellent.

Periodically we visit here, have always found the food to be good and plenty of it for the price. The menu has a good range of items on it and found that although the food is always freshly cooked we don't have to wait to long for it. A good Chinese takeaway.

I really enjoy a takeaway from here likewise does my partner. Also the food is very good value for money. I definitely will be returning.

Food was tasteless. Had sweet and sour king prawn, curry, chicken & sweetcorn soup and veg noodles. Each dish was really poor. Everything was cooked properly but they'd put in too much corn starch to thicken but this took away any flavour. Avoid.

The curries were very tasty and had plentiful ingredients, on a par with others we have had in the past . Meals were ready for collection at the asked for time and were piping hot. The chips were lovely. All in all a value for money tasty takeaway. We enjoyed our meal.

The Lotus is the place to go if you live in Wareham, Stoborough or Sandford and love a good Chinese takeaway. Would recommend their sweet and sour chicken balls and chips, and their prawn toasts. Lovely! :)

Tried the takeaway recently and I was pleasantly surprised. The sweet and sour chicken wasn rehabs a little bland, but the food was well cooked and not too oily. The prawn and vegetables were also good. The prices were also very resonable

Recommended by friends and so pleased i tried their food .Duck with pancakes was crispy and tasty . Sweet and Sour Chicken was plentiful , tender and the sauce was delicious . Try the Spare Ribs as they are to die for . Definitely the Best Chinese food I have experienced .Great Value for Your Money Try it you will be Amazed :-)

Had a takeaway from here whilst staying in nearby Corfe Castle in January. The special noodles were very tasty. The duck with mushroom and special rice were also delicious, as was the sweet and sour pork. The chicken balls were tender, lovely and juicy! The only thing we weren't impressed with was the roast pork which was very fatty (just a personal dislike). Give it a try, it's not that bad!

Ordered chicken with green peppers in black bean source. Nearly all green pepper, very little chicken, mediocre taste - mainly of green peppers, and the container was only about two thirds full. Very poor value. The service was bordering on insolent with no thankyou's. Both other chinese restautants/take-aways in Wareham are far better.

Couldn't find this takeaway on TA so I made the effort to create the listing to warn everyone else!This was the blandest chinese meal I have ever eaten. All the dishes tasted of absolutely nothing!A lot of veg was used to bulk the dishes out too (e.g. not very much chicken in a chicken dish).Avoid.
