Great traditional city pub serving very good ales.

I Brighton favourite. Busy but always somewhere to sit and enjoy your drink! Food has an excellent reputation.

Cozy British pub with a good atmosphere. There were a lot of people and live music when we visited.

I’ve visited Lord Nelson some time ago. I had a burger, beef was tender and my meal was delicious. However after coming back I felt not welcomed and the atmosphere was not pleasant. There was a short Irish lady who was very demeaning and rude. Not just to the guests but also the staff. I felt uncomfortable being here and I hope this is not what this place has become. It felt very toxic.

Good pub with good choice of cask beers from the Harvey's brewery. Didn't eat here so couldn't comment.inthe food but the menu included burgers and tapas.

Ordered 2 single shot g&t simple cheapest gin and paid 19 £. I do not believe that's the price...asked the barman and he said sorry this is the price.. ... we'll good luck with that...surely i won't step in ever again

Really nice spot to find a food and drink option when needed as found just near the hotel and railway station areas, nice sized food and drink portions of what was ordered, so had a good meal here, would definitely try and come back when in this area once again.

Needed a bit of food and this was found just in the right time for an early evening meal, nice sized portions for first and second course meals plus a drink as well, would come again as near to hotel that is being stayed at. Highly Recommended for both food and drink.

Bad vibe, average food, expensive pints. And it was empty for hours whilst we were there then as soon as it got a bit busier they were being quite rude and asked us to leave to make space.

Such rude staff and greasy food - there are so many great pubs in Brighton, money much better spent elsewhere! The Prince George, Evening Star or Victory are all close by and definitely nicer places to eat & drink :)

What a gem...Just minutes from Brighton station. Lovely welcome, great service, and after spending the day in Brighton it was wonderful to find this pub has clean sweet smelling toilets. Absolutely recommend this pub.

Fab selection of ales, (including a range of Harvey's), & superb pub food; my fish and chips was beautifully cooked and very filling. The other 'stand out' is the décor which is designed to reflect Nelson's flagship, HMS Victory. It's stunningly executed with great attention to detail, some tasteful quirky features and the whole place is so clean; the loos are a benchmark for other pubs and the conservatory is a winner to behold It deserves to remain successful, so play your part and support local pubs and their landlords/landladies and go there!

Quite a large Harvey's pub near Brighton railway station. Beer was on top form, but only managed to try one of the selection as was with a group that was on the move.

Nice pub with friendly staff but our lasagne tasted very bland and the ingredients had clearly been watered down to maximize profits and tasted so.

Went for meet and mingle night but not obvious which part of the pub this was happening. Not much mingling! Lovely meal though, great atmos and lovely bar staff.

Went during a rainy day time, a pub much bigger on the inside than out, a good selection of drinks and very well priced with a pint coming in £4/£5. Lovely furniture and well decorated.

It's time to welcome the autumnal return of Harvey's Old. Pop in for a very nicely conditioned pint of the best part of the darker months of the year in East Sussex at this friendly and conveniently located local sometime soon.

Went to the Ox Block launch party and the staff were welcoming and very attentive throughout. Food was excellent and well presented. Hope they add more smaller items to the lunch time menu for the local workers who are looking for a quick eat. Ie meat,fish or veg option in a sandwich as the main meals everyday is not financially or time viable for us who only have30mins for lunch. Once again great bar team led by a good manager.

The amount and variety of the food served up for a wake did not tally with the £250 we paid - 25 servings at £10 per head. Food provided: Breadcrumbed chicken wings/drumsticks - there were not enough to have one each Calamari - a handful Fish bites - a handful Chips - 2 small dishes, we would have been lucky to have 3 chips each Breaded mushrooms - probably enough for one each Dips - 5 very tiny dishes about 2 inches across with about a tablespoon in each Crisps/tortilla chips - a packet's worth Sandwiches - there were enough of these Totally inadequate for the number of people attending (24 including 3 children) and the amount of money paid.

I had my retirement party there in December 21 the landlady Yvonne did a loverly buffet spread and plenty of it! I’d highly recommend the nelson.

We only stopped in for a drink and were glad we did!! Theadied serving were so friendly and the mulled wine before Christmas was delightful. Its a faulty smallish pub but its really cosy and has a proper pub feel to it!!

Ahhh, one of the pubs of Trafalgar Street that no matter what they do the place it still a great pub. It's much bigger than it used to be but hey, it's how the world is going if they are going to compete with the weatherspoons. Still a great pub.

Spacious pub, close to the station, not rammed like the rest down by the sea. Good pint, plus a few screens for sport. Beer garden.

Stuffed full of traditional pub atmosphere, a great place to meet, chat, socialize and drink. Lovely wood seating and tables. Large well served bar, plenty of choice on draft beer, larger and cider.

Great selection of Harveys real ales. An interesting old interior that hasn't changed for quite a few years but makes it more interesting than other refurbished pubs.

Just down the hill from Brighton Station, this pub has a great historic theme. I came here for food and it was cooked well, hot; but pretty bland with no real creativity. Service was extremely poor on a very quiet night. Had to wait considerable time for the main course to arrive after the starter. It wasn’t busy so it was only when I said I wanted to cancel the main course that they said it would be ready. Most interesting part of visiting this pub is they ask for tips before the service!! Never had that before ever! Sadly I can’t recommend this pub. There are many interesting and great pubs of great historical interest in this specific area that provide service as part of the price...not based on what you pay for in tips before your food is served!

Best pre football match pub in Brighton. Great atmosphere, super choice of draught and bottle beers, nice line in wine and mixer drinks too. Lovely food but do expect to pay top prices, this is Brighton.

Nice pub with plenty of seating space.

So we booked ahead and ordered food. Half of the table was served, the other half weren't. Turns out they had run out of what we ordered, but we didn't find out until we waited for an hour, over 30 minutes after the first person on our table was served! However they did refund us for the entire food order. Maybe they just had a bad day.

Nice place for drinks or lunch. In the colder months they light up the fire place that creates cosy atmosphere. Friendly staff and decent food however food serving time is bit long.

Much bigger inside than we thought but so nice pitty we had already eatten as the Sunday roast looked really good.but think you need to do pig's in blankets as a extra for when we come back in February please lol
