Are the roast potatoes still the dry frozen ones? Put me off last time.

I’ve dined here many times before, but after this recent experience, I’m hesitant to return. The meat was disappointingly thin and overcooked, leaving it dry and flavorless. The vegetables, which seemed reheated from the previous night, were hard and dry. Additionally, the serving spoons were covered in food, which was both unappetizing and concerning. The thick gravy provided did little to improve the meal

Came here today for a birthday meal with the family the food was great big shout out to Louise our chef and the bar staff and waitresses were great to .

Ah yes , good ol' bri'ish food ! Three thin slices of meat , and a variety of tasteless veggies . Beer was ok , the place was boring , the staff was helpfull . If you are well traveled and like good food , avoid this place , you won't like it

Food really good. Weekly quiz is a pain. All tables booked and you have to wait to see if they don't turn up to sit in the reserved spots. Very clicky and not very welcoming to new quizzes this way. Have the option to sit at the tables by the carvery, feel incredibly outcasted.

Always a decent dinner and very reasonably priced. Lovely staff too!

Good all round for Drink, Food, Atmosphere and Logings

Excellent service. However, it only serves breakfast from 7am to 9am, which is inconsistent with the information on line.

We are regulars here on a Sunday so where's better than here to have a 90th Birthday party/ meal ? What a great time we all had. The staff are second to none the service is fantastic the carvery was delicious . The atmosphere was relaxed and joyful. Carl the manager should be proud of all his staff who make our visit so enjoyable. Thank-you to - sinead / kirsha / Lauren xxx

Very nice carvery but it was just too hot inside. We had our meal and left there was no hanging around

I visited this place for the first time to celebrate my friend's birthday 3 weeks ago. The food was delicious, the best Carvery I have ever tried, the atmosphere there is really nice and Adriana who was looking after our table is such a nice and positive person, she made the whole experience even better. me and my friends going to have a dinner there tomorrow to celebrate another birthday - I would highly recommend this place to everyone- this is my favorite place now ;)

Absolutely packed out on Sunday 4th Aug for Sunday roast....needn't have worried...promptly shown to our table, every member of staff was smart, friendly and smiley...roast meats were succulent and plentiful, the help urself roasties and veg were delicious and the Yorkshires were summin else!! Plain or onion gravies with correct accompanying sauces which is Important to an ex Cook like me! Puds were delicious too. The whole place is spotlessly clean, lovely attentive staff and I would recommend to anyone. Well done all the staff! Superb

Always a great carvery plenty of vegetables and potato choices, staff friendly, always busy so definitely book ahead at the weekend.

Staff was nice food was also nice but bit bland atmosphere was not the best however was mid day

I have celiac disease, a gluten allergy. Went for a carvery. Staff obliged my request with getting my food fresh from the kitchen so there was no cross contamination. Also gluten free gravy. This was done within minutes. Food was hot and delicious. Fast service. Obliging, helpful and considerate staff that made my visit fabulous experience. Certainly a good place to go. Will be returning.

Had hunters chicken today and here I am now still recovering from food poisoning. I've never been sick like this in all my 36 years on this planet! Bathroom was like a big soup bowl couldn't even get off toilet it was that slippy. Fair to say won't be coming here again.

I was very disappointed with food, roast potatoes tasted warmed up, dry and cold. Veggies looked like they been there for a while. Doubt we will return.

I had a one night stay there as a stop over while I saw family the receptionist was amazing friendly she explained all I needed to know the room was nice clean and fresh the bar was well stocked with great beers and bar and waiting staff were very polite and helpful I really enjoyed my stay and I will not hesitate going back again Thank you all for a great stay

Purple hair lady, We were unable to book on line and turned up on speck 3 adults and a baby in a pram. Seated in 5 mins, exceptional service, staff could not be more helpful. Food excellent, refilled pots as required. Would highly recommend

This is a really good carvery with another menue for those not wanting a roast dinner.

Good food on the carvery but portion size elsewhere a bit small. Just my opinion.

Carvery was ok for the money, no the meat slices were very thin. The coffee and cake were a real bonus, carrot cake delicious.

I dine here most evenings. It can get very busy. You can also queue for over 30 minutes, for a carvery! There is not always someone to serve. However the meat is perfectly cooked, as are the vegetables. Prices are increased, at weekends for the same meal! So I'd suggest, go elsewhere on Saturday and Sunday! Green king are greedy. If you are there at closing you'll see the foods you just paid money for, dumped in a massive bin! 🤔

We felt welcomed as we walked through the door, promptly seated and greeted by the staff, not sure I could have felt more welcome if they had rolled out a red carpet. The lady severing the food genuinely asked how my day was going, and listened to us. We genuinely had a really good experience and look forward to our next visit, and yes as you would expect the food was divine, creamy mash, crispy roaster and thick gravy. Well done to all thoes involved, you have something special you should be proud.

Only stayed the one night but everything and staff more than helpful

The Love Carvery at Longshoot never fails to impress with its consistently hot, delicious food and wide array of choices. The staff is friendly, although the nature of the carvery means it's more of a self-serve experience with minimal table service. The premises offer free parking, including spaces for disabled visitors. It's worth noting that the restaurant can get quite busy, particularly on Thursdays for quiz nights and Sundays for the beloved Sunday roast dinners.

I'm really impressed with the quality of the carvery at the loogshoot, perfectly cooked vegetables, lovely gravy and priced very reasonable even for Sunday's lunch. Excellent service! Will definitely becoming back.

This is a chain Pub, nothing upmarket just convenient, the carvery is what was ordered, hit and miss on how much meat will be put on your plate, each time I've visited totally random amounts offered up. Roast potatoes look like frozen ones don't taste too bad. Blue light card accepted for all that have them. Walkin waiting times vary from 30mins to 50 mins for Sunday lunch.

They stop breakfast at 9 am. We arrived to have breakfast at 09:45 and was told that the restaurant stop serving breakfast at 9 am even though on the website it has different timings. They said the website is dated and the chain hasn’t changed it

The food has gone right downhill, the roasties and Yorkshires are frozen and chewy, the veg isn't cooked. My husband and son had the mixed grill and they said the meat was really cheap. You get what you pay for I suppose.

We come here regularly and experience good food and excellent service, but today the vegetables were very poor , but that's only our gripe, the entertainment was good and I would recommend this venue to anyone even though todays food wasn't as good as normal

Had Christmas dinner and drinks here today. Great food, service and staff. Well worth the money.

Staff were shouting over the restaurant to “talk” to eachother which was loud and annoying as this happened for a long time during our meal and each time they wanted to talk. I’m assuming it was the manager in a suit also cleaned a table and then went to the carvery and picked strips of meat straight from the meat and ate it, going back for seconds too. Like I’m all for staff having a nibble and things but the dirty hands.. disgusting and gross, she sat on clean tables whilst talking to her friends/people she knew. Also some staff were wearing muddied up trainers which i’m sorry but it looks unprofessional and tacky. Our food was okay apart from some sausages that were over cooked and solid that we could barely cut into them. Usually everything is great but this time around was different and tacky.

Food quality on the Carvery was good but very stingy portions of meat. Cut any thinner and wouid have been transparent. Not very good value for money and would not go for this again.

I ordered one meal carvery and beer then ice cream. I didnt finish cavery and beer but ice cream is quite delicious. Good for dessert after one cavery.

They do one of the best roast dinners closest to a home made you can get

Hello, it seems somehow a review was posted under my name that was not done by me. My apologies to the Longshoot staff. We did eat here and the carvery was lovely and the staff were equally lovely, very attentive and helpful. Definitely worthy of a 5 star rating. My apologies for the previous rating that was not posted by me.

Had a family birthday meal in early evening, it was hard to book, this place is so popular it's great vfm, we thought the queue was long when we joined but it went right round the bar afterwards. Service was excellent given the numbers eating, food was excellent really good choice of three carvery meats and wide choice of freshly cooked vegetables.

Went for Sunday carvery was very disappointed as had other meals here . Roast beef was so tough you couldn't even cut it with a steak knife , the kind waitress fetched us a plate of turkey , all veg very very aldente, new potatoes extremely hard , will not try carvery again !!!

Don't answer the phone, called 5 times,booked at the Malt Shovel instead, answered 1st time.

Restaurant was too hot to eat! Air conditioning was a joke! Even staff were fanning themselves. Always thought water was free! Asked for a pint of blackcurrant and water and 2 pints of blackcurrant and soda. Water was 2 quid and soda was 1.85 each! Extortionate price! Meal was nice but veg was hard and onion gravy just had raw onion in.

Stopped here for a quick dinner. The staff were accommodating as we hadn't booked. The food was hot and as you would expect from a carvery

Lovely relaxed atmosphere, staff were amazing and accomodating to us and our little girl, served by Lauren and Sinead and we're both great. Food as to be expected. Little one had a great time receiving so much attention. We shall be back soon

Fat bite for a small price. Not delicate. Well value for money.

I have to say I've always enjoyed a carvery however this place has steadily gone down hill. Meat can be chewy and vegetables are left to go mushy, my cauliflower tasted like it had gone off, meat was tasteless, it was all a bit tasteless and mushy not how a carvery should be. My daughter felt a bit off a while after eating it, a real shame, they need to sort this out and it would be really great here they're missing out as there's hardly any carveries locally so get the quality back up. The food is amazing. Great service from the staff team. It was Lauren she was very friendly and kind and amazing service from her and the team at this lovely place to eat. Would highly recommend it to friends.

Good carvery at a reasonable price

Brilliant place. Our party gathered for a lunch time meet up and all agreed that the meal, the service and the atmosphere were just fantastic. Speaking for myself, my carvery meal was perfect. The meat melted in my mouth and was cooked to perfection. The vegetables were wonderfully fresh and tasty too. Such good value and such good quality. Thanks to all concerned for making our visit to The Longshoot an absolute treat.

Good was nice and at a good price but was a long wait.

Went here today for a cavery and honestly was a shambles... Took forever to be served as was so busy wouldn't mind if the food was half decent but it was absolutely appalling. Flies flying round the meat one actually landed on the metal plate the turkey was sat on. So payed for a large plate got 1 slice of each meat which is fair however it wasn't at all great. Pigs in blankets were grizzly and looked a bit anemic if I'm honest. Mash was horrible and powdery was obviously instant new potatoes were like bullets and the carrots and cauliflower cheese wasn't much better. Roast potatoes were frozen but if I'm being completely honest was the only thing I thought wasn't half bad and the gravy tasted funny. It was so hot in there could barely breath. Will not be returning had about 5 mouthfuls off a large plate dinner and that was because I was starving and didn't really fancy waiting another 40 minutes to speak to someone to complain. Definitely wouldn't recommend anyone going here for food

Really good carvery and a fair price

Food this evening was, in my opinion, poor. Carvery meat wasn't up to usual standards, bland. Roasters, stuffing, mash, peas and gravy were not good either. Son didn't enjoy his chicken mix meal. So hot in restaurant also which didn't help.

Not visited for a few years .Was always good carvery.However place has deteriorated.Young kids taken over.Whole atmosphere changed.Would liken it to a lower grade weatherspoons.Carvery lukewarm .Veg rock hard potatoes anaemic. Won't be back

My favourite place for a carvery, absolutely cannot beat it. It's a nice pub with a main menu and carvery. The carvery has never failed me and we visit all the time. There's always enough parking if you use the over spill at the back of the hotel. The staff are nice and the service is always good.

Very bad we are regulars and the food was very poor baked potatoes rock hard cauliflower like sludge every think else under cooked or over cooked we conplained and had how mony back we will give it one more try

Very consistent carvery, at affordable prices. I'd sooner eat here than any of the fast food places. Comparable prices with much better, good food.

Really nice carvery and fish and chips are really good too. The service is very quick and attentive.

We went with my brother and Sisrer, as always the carvery was set out very nice with all food hot and fresh, we all had a great experience and the staff are all friendly and very helpful, the only negative we all had was the same as all carveries all the veg was hard very very hard guys cook the veg more please, the all the rest you have mastered.

Surprisingly good food! It’s a little like gods waiting room, needs a refit.. Amazing coke, their post mix is spot on, odd to point out but it’s great. Carvery is awesome, they could do with adding peas and a serious upgrade to their yorkies, but all else is great..

The Food is good for the Price, didn't taste everything, but Carvery was good enough with some Beer.

An honest review, take into account that this is a chain pub, we had a poor prior experience a year ago with drinks (dirty glasses and cloudy water) but decided to give this a go. The meat was good, well portioned... The Yorkshires were ok, nothing mind blowing but fit the bill, a bit tough if anything but that's solved with gravy... The veg was an interesting one, the carrots *chefs kiss* the broccoli however, mush... The stuffing was amazing, beats Toby carvery personally speaking... The roasties are frozen, the mash was strange too but still nice... Honestly it was a nice carvery, just important to clear up that this isn't a replacement for TC but is still good for the price. The staff were amazing too, the table was clean etc, they are one of the nicer green king pubs I've been to, will probably see myself in there again soon :)
