Longhouse in Sevenoaks

This an exceptional restaurant! The food is divine and beautifully cooked. The Mongolian lamb starter and spring rolls were delicious, as was the wonderfully fragrant Tom Yam soup and lamb curry! Nothing is sloppy nor greasy, and it is evident there is much pride taken with the cooking. It's a very clean restaurant, expertly run. Edenbridge is blessed to have 2 superb restaurants: Longhouse and Quality Tandoori. Longhouse should be packed every night with the quality of cooking. It's no wonder everyone is awarding it 5-star reviews. I've been twice in 2 weeks and can't wait to go again! Top quality!

Monday evening, four of us went without pre booking. Excellent service, really lovely food. Fantastic choice of dishes and nothing was too much trouble. Super friendly staff. Nothing at all to be negative about whatsoever. We will definitely return.

Had a fantastic last minute meal here tonight. Everything is so fresh, full of flavour and delicious. We opted for the set menu for £18 each and it was a great choice. The beef Rendang curry and Thai chicken & basil were both spicy enough without being too hot.

Based on the previous authors review, and having been disappointed with other takeaways and restaurants in the area, I decided to try the Longhouse. I wasn't disappointed, and fully agree that the food is exceptional. The oil used for cooking was fresh, and there was no hidden taste. The portion sizes are very good, and there is little, if any MSG. All in all, a very nice clean and tidy restaurant, with good quality produce in their food. I'll certainly return.

I have come here several times and I always get a warm welcome no matter how busy they are. The food is fantastic!

Highly recommend the duck pancakes, duck quality and flavor was the best we have eaten anywhere. Also, the stir fried pak choy had an exceptional flavor. The staff were friendly, especially the front of house lady who took our order, and the efficient gentleman who was in charge of technology. We were offered beverages while we waited for our take out order. Very impressed with the cleanliness of the interior of this restaurant. Takeout portions were generous, and packed in boxes that didn’t leak!

We came here for dinner one evening during a stay at Hever Castle. Edenbridge High Street is a bit of a ghost town and lots of shops were closed, even on a Friday afternoon (we had lunch at the Old Eden pub earlier in the day). The restaurant was fairly quiet, there was only one other table in, but this made it nicer as we almost had the place to ourselves. The staff are very polite and pleasant and the food was really very good. Portions are generous, my only criticism is that there were only very small plates to eat off - hardly bigger than a saucer, but the food was definitely not a disappointment. We would happily recommend The Longhouse.

We had a delightful and lubricated couple of hours in the Secret Cash and were hungry and looking for a hearty tasty early supper. Long house was recommended and only a couple of hundred metres up the road. It’s a friendly helpful family set up order taken by mum and handed out to us barely ten minutes later by her preteen age sun. About £18 for four excellent dishes some chicken the others vegetable. Perfect. If we are ever in this town again we’d be likely to come here again.

Such good food at the Longhouse and friendly staff. Regular customer and will continue to be! The service is great and the food always really enjoyable.

We’re pretty fussy when it comes to eating out and getting takeaways, especially when it comes to food hygiene rating- this place has a 5 and with everything that’s going on with covid-19 they’ve gone above and beyond with installing screens and hand sanitizer. Our takeaway was lovely and the portion sizes were plentiful. There were so many options for vegetarians, meat eaters and pescatarians. They had run out of prawn crackers, but that isn’t the end of the world for us. We will definitely be returning and recommending.

Have eaten in house but we were the only ones there it was early though so it could have got busier I find it soulless so better to takeaway , food okay ,

We have had food from here before both as a takeaway and also in the restaurant but I can't thank them enough for slotting us in on Christmas Eve when we needed to change plans at short notice. The food is always tasty from here and the waitresses are always smiling and happy to help. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

We went for the set menu lunch. One course plus a drink for £5.95 per head.The waitress was cheerful and helpful. The restaurant was clean and offers a choice between chopsticks, spoons or forks. Good choice of main meal and it was delicious and beautifully cooked.Would definitely visit again.Closed for lunch on Mondays.

Average food, service good. Mixed menu should concentrate on one type of cuisine. Concerned about the use of colouring in the Green Thai Chicken curry, and excessive quantities of vegetables.

Their Sunday buffet is an all you can eat at a very reasonable price with very tasty and well cooked food. A plus is that the food is cooked to order and so is hot and fresh rather than being kept warm for a long period of time.Add in a very relaxed atmosphere and very friendly and pleasant staff and you've got a great experience. Ok, the decor may not be up to scratch like some other restaurants, but at the end of the day, you are there mainly for the food.Very good food, cooked and served fresh, at a reasonable price and served with a smile.

We called in here after a long hot day in Canterbury. We did not book a table, just rang to make sure they were open. Not too busy when we arrived so seated quickly. The food, when it arrived was excellent, hot and very tasty. The Beef Rendang was the best we have tasted on our trips around Asian fusion restaurants in the UK and abroad. Price was reasonable and parking close was relatively simple. The only thing that prevented a 5* review from us was the lack of warmth from the serving lady, who was formal and basically not friendly at all, despite our attempts to engage.

We got stiffed.......our bleeding heart corbaniska veggie was short changed and our greedy Tory self righteous Johnsonite was left without enough duck for his duck house...

Fantastic is all I can say about the buffet. Although cheaper the quality of the food remains high and the menu is so varied. I must have tried over 20 items today and each one was delicious. Staff excellent, food delicious and overall experience fantastic- would recommend to anyone!

Delightful service and delicious food. Highly recommended the duck spring rolls. If paying cash for takeaway you are occasionally offered a free dish. (Depending on spend).

We've never eaten in here so can't comment on that but we've had a lot of takeaways and every time they have been delicious. Slightly more pricey than your normal takeaway but it's worth it as its all so lovely and not greasy at all.

We have visited many times over the years. They always produced first class food. We have been here for lunch, Sunday Buffet and evening meal. Kids love it as do we. The best around here for miles

The take away food is excellent, and the food to eat in is too. Family owned and the fusion of Chinese Thai and Malaysian food in fantastic. The Rendang curry is the best. Sundays there is an a la carte all you can eat buffet, where the food is ordered and bought to you rather than having to get it yourself. The food is always cooked to order. Best in Edenbridge by far

We went mid-week before payday. It was empty except customers collecting a takeaway on their way home from work but that meant we enjoyed exceptional service and as much attention as we wanted. We all received our course at the same time, time between courses was perfect. Food was delicious. Try it for yourself- it's worth it and you will return.

Always use longhouse, the food is always spot on. Reasonable priced, get a lot for your money. Staff are always friendly. Always quick. Really like their chips and curry in particular. Another top mark for the freebie dish they offer.

We tried this for first time and were very impressed, it was quiet as we got there early.we were made very welcome and the waitress explained the menu and how it worked.we ordered our starters and they arrived promptly and hot and fresh.They were fabulous and we had more, then when we ordered our main courses we enjoyed more piping hot food and superb quality beef and chicken, the whole experience was worth it and we left pleasantly satisfied and would definitely return and recommend this quaint friendly restaurant

I went here with a friend as a last minute change of plans when the restaurant we were going to turned out to be shut. It was quite late when we got there but staff were lovely and efficient. Service and food likewise speedy and good. Ok maybe not the best Chinese I've ever had (I love my Chinese food) but by far not the worst and we would definitely return again.

Maybe it was because it was a Sunday evening that it lacked atmosphere. The staff were cheery and helpful. The food from the fixed menu was mostly tasty but l expected more for the money.

Three of us had different meals and they all come out at different times. I had beef randang and it was good but the other meals where poor to average wouldn't go again.

After arriving in town on New Years day from a country walk, we were hoping for a pub lunch but ended up at Longhouse.The restaurant was understandably not very busy, but the staff were very friendly and there was a decent Indonesian, Asian menu to choose from. We choose a few different dishes to share and the kids had a novelty dessert. Can't really fault the place, the Indonesian beef rendang I had was pretty good, maybe not as I remember from more authentic rijs tafels in The Netherlands, but none the less a decent start to the new year. And it became busier as we were about to leave.

We had a wonderful meal at the Longhouse, the food was so tasty, hot and very filling. All the staff were friendly and very accommodating my fiancé wanted a dish that was not on the menu and they made it for him.The only disappointing thing is that the restaurant is 3 and a half hours drive from where we live as it would be a regular place to eat and take family and friends.

Some little twists on standard Chinese restaurants. Food is very good and freshly prepared. many standards on the menu and a good sprinkling of unexpected delights.

This is a Malaysian fusion restaurant. Always very good food here.The food is always fresh and very tasty. It's not cheap but they provide good portions and it is good value. The restaurant itself is quite small but I have never seen it totally full. /the service is reasonable and they are attentive to customers. They also provide take away. I would only go here now rather than the local chinese it's far superior.

We had never eaten Malaysian/Chinese fusion meals before so a new experience. The service was first class and the restaurant clean and pleasant. My first choice was not available. I was told that my second choice of lamb curry was not "hot", not spicey but tasting of pineapple. It was so hot that I didn't know I was eating lamb and didn't taste of pineapple either. Husband's beef was "all right" but some was tough. Pleased we had the experience but would not return

I've eaten here a few times now, both takeaway and eating in. Every time the food has been good, delivered very quickly and the staff have always been very friendly.

We had the set meal for 2. Good value, huge tasty duck rolls and tasty satay chicken. The rending wasn't the best I have had but ok and the chicken with Thai basil could have done with more of the basil. On the whole a good value tasty meal. They also had allergy information on the menu which would be great for my daughter.

Lovely family run restaurant offering authentic Malaysian dishes. Really like the Satay Chicken, Laksa Noodle and Malaysian Sambal main dishes, all beautifully made.

Longhouse is our local Thai restaurant. We have two young children, so thus far have only had take always, but the food is always very good, reasonably priced and the service very warm and friendly. I am mildly addicted to their Randang Curry!Keep up the good work :-)

We visited this restaurant for an impromptu lunch as a group of 4. We had pretty neutral expectations, and we very pleasantly surprised.Warm welcome and prompt service. We decided upon one of the Set menus, so ended up trying 10 different dishes. All cooked freshly and very tasty.

My Husband visited the Longhouse last Saturday 23rd April 2016 for the first time, the staff were very pleasant and helpful when ordering. We had a set menu as it was our first visit and the choice and food were lovely, next time we will order dishes from the whole menu. Some of the dishes coming out to other customers look wonderful, we will definitely go back and look forward to it.

Went there for dinner with friends last week. Their food is amazing! We had sizzling beef with black pepper sauce (dine-in only) and rendang chicken that night, it's really good! Highly recommend to try these two dishes if you have a chance to dine-in, they do take away as well. Can't wait to try their Sunday buffet too.Generous portions and reasonable price, defiantly make you come back again!

The Malaysian food there has the taste of Malaysia in them, never failing to satisfy my craving for food from home. I was there on a particularly busy night yet the waitress was all smiles and my piping hot Beef Rendang was served before I knew it. I had an amazing time there and can't wait to be back at edenbridge to try out all the other food on the menu!

I've had two takeaways from here now and really enjoyed it each time. The prices are reasonable, the portions are generous and the food is very tasty. I went for the bean curd in satay sauce tonight and my mum had the crispy chilli beef - we were both very happy with our meals. Looking forward to trying eating in the restaurant too.

We were going to visit Hever Castle and hadn't brought any food, so we decided to try something local, deciding on Longhouse (being one of the few restaurants on the high street open). We had the bento box deal, and I had the teriyaki chicken, along with the complimentary bowl of miso soup.We got on very friendly terms with the waitress and her son, who was on holiday at the time, who was also from East Asia-my parents are both from Beijing originally. She gave us some prawn crackers which they had fried themselves, and were exceedingly delicious, so much so that we helped ourselves to a second basketful! I also had a very refreshing homemade mango presse-very nice, not too sweet, I would recommend it.The miso soup arrived first, in a decent amount, and wasn't too salty and had a refreshing flavour. Downed it pretty quickly and along came the bento box.The rice was about right, still quite fluffy, and there was a generous amount of seaweed on the side as well as some grilled vegetables, lettuce and spring rolls. The teriyaki chicken was served with grilled corn and mange tout, however it didn't really have too much flavour, even with the sauce. The spring rolls were a little dry too.Overall, it's a pretty decent price, and I only tried the bento box, but what I experienced wasn't that great and I had been expecting better from the reviews I've seen. However, if none of the other restaurants around are open, you could always try something else on the menu-just preferably not the bento box.

We visit at least twice a month and we are more than satisfied with the service and food. Kenn the chef is wonderful, his food is beyond expectation! On a Sunday they have an all you can eat buffet which I definitely recommend as mean we have excellent food and no washing up to do.

I have eaten here a good few times now. The food is of a really good standard. Succulent chicken, delicious aubergine. Love the masseman and several other dishes too. The chef must be top drawer the owner is lovely and the weekend staff charming.

We visited the Longhouse again and it just seems to get better.Everything about this place is excellent our meal was the best we have had here the staff are a good laugh we cannot fault anything here.A set meal for less than £20 consisting of 7 different dishes we could not ask for more.There were locals eating here and many coming and going for takeaways that is a good sign.

The food in this restaurant is delicious, I had chilli jumbo prawns & noodles, my husband had crispy duck, it was cooked to perfection, we have been there several times,and the food is always good, and lovely and hot. This is a very good place for a party of people, or celebration meal, when we have visitors, we often take them there, as the choice of food is quite vast, so something for everybody, Very competitive price wise, if you don't have wine, its about 20.00 per head, we have never had a bad meal there. worth a visit!

We have visited again on two occasions one over the Christmas break and last night 10.01.2015 it was as good as we could have wished for beautiful food first class service and so welcoming.We are looking forward to returning in the next couple of weeks. When we first used this for take away it was lovely, no problems, however on the last 2 occasions I found 'stuff' in my food so was put off.

We took our two children here early saturday evening and had a lovely visit. Food was excellent (as always) and the staff couldnt have been more accomodating and friendly - making a fuss of the children, adapting the table, seats and food to our needs. Brilliant warm, friendly atmosphere and yummy food and wine :o)

We have been to this restaurant a few times now. The latest visit we went was with my in laws and they really enjoyed the food and thought the service was great. We all had the lunch menus and we're all too full to have dinner! The prices were great too!

After reading the reviews I was really looking forward to trying this restaurant but what a disappointment when we popped in for lunch as a treat for my mother this week. I am wondering if the reviews below are even about the same place!! The only redeeming quality is the waitress - super polite and friendly and could not do enough - nice enough to the point I didn't feel the need to complain as I felt our half left plates of food spoke volumes! The chicken and sweetcorn soup was ok but at nearly £4 a decent sized bowl was expected not the over-sized saucer we got but the main course was bland and barely edible and the sauces tasted like they had come straight out of a jar but not as nice :-/ the cleanliness left a LOT to be desired, even the waitress had a dirty tracksuit top on serving food! Will not be eating here again - a real shame.

We came across Longhouse on a Saturday evening when we were unsure where to eat. The restaurant doesn't have the most inviting look but once inside and you give the food a chance, you won't be disappointed.The prawn toast is always a good test and when it came out we were very pleased with our choice, the remainder of the food didn't disappoint.Nice friendly service is and the homely feel is great.Highly reccomend,

Went with my 3 daughters for the second time and as before food was out of this world.Sweet and sour prawns HK style were to die for and so was the sesame prawn toast and the Chilean sauv Blanc de la casa was the perfect accompaniement. Friendly efficient staff too

Wow, what fantastic Chinese food. I am fussy and expect high standards when dinning in a restaurant, but I can honestly say the food is to die for! Everything my father and I ordered was delicious and prawn toast and sweet and sour king prawns Hong Kong style deserves a special mention! Served piping hot, the quality ingredients and fresh tasty sauce really stood out. I live in Kingston, but I have planned my next trip to the Long house already and I am bringing both my sisters to experience the wonderful food this time as I haven stopped going on about it!

A speedy lunch for £5.95 including a drink - excellent value. The decor is a bit tired, but the food surprised me - a lot better than I expected. We had two different dishes and tried each other's food, both were good. The lady serving was most charming - we will certainly return.

First time coming here. For Take Away but , wasn't really happy bout the wait the these waiters seemed to be busy talking or probably communicating between staff than doing business. Food was ok but not that hot . Conclusion. A choice unless there were no choice.

This is by far the best takeaway in Edenbridge. The Staff are lovely and the food is good. Much better then any other takeaway in the area. We wouldn't eat from anywhere else.

My partner and I couldn't be bothered cooking tonight, so we decided to try this place in our local area. I was hesitant as I love my asian food and really love real authentic asian. This place is great, not as fantastic as the real chinese or Malay food that I have tried or what you would get from visiting either country, but it met my expectations of an affordable, quick and easy takeaway meal and we were both very satisfied at the end! Love the chicken balls and chicken paprika dishes. I would highly recommend to friends and family.

My family have being eating here once a month for the last ten months and the food has always been really good. Emily and Amy are always pleased to see us and happy to entertain our six year old daughter, helping her to use chopsticks. Excellent value for money, especially when they have promotions. The layout inside has changed also the management has changed all for the better. I definitely recommend a visit or takeaway.

Popped in to this place for dinner as staying for the night. The food was tasty, authentic (the Malay curry was great) and they had good vegetarian options as well.Service was very friendly and it was good value too.Recommended if you find yourself in Eden bridge one night.
