Fantastic food, good service and amazing atmosphere with brilliant views. Mixed grill was amazing but order if you have an appetite!

Consistently excellent, flavoursome fare, large menu with all the regular mains and sides you'd expect plus an inviting list of 'chef's recommendations' (my go-to search for something different in any restaurant). Decent size portions, cooked to your preferred heat, excellent quality, and they're not robbing you with their prices. For religious reasons they no longer hold an alcohol license but the Chequers two doors down are happy for you to take your drinks to the restaurant (and serve you aperitifs and nightcap) and there's no corkage on the restaurant bill. Chequers has a range of draft beers, always an ale and the usual spirits, wines, ciders - great village pub, very friendly.

Really, really tasty food, great prices and lovely staff. What more can I say. If you love Indian food and are in the area, this is a must.

Beautiful fresh food, great value too! Unfortunately it was cold when it arrived and I only live 5 mins away. Delivery was also over an hour. Food was amazing though!

First time here. In a new Indian/Bangladeshi restaurant my order is always the same: Lamb Vindaloo + Garlic Naan Chutneys if available. Why? Because it takes some skill to master the traditional dishes, especially the Vindaloo. Made correctly it is a wonderful mixture of spices that combine to 'party in your mouth'. Made badly it is just 'hot' and difficult to enjoy. The Palace Of India excelled here. The lamb was fat free and tender (some restaurants don't bother to trim the meet but here it was lean). The spices were in a good balance. Really enjoyed a curry that was not boosted with salt or sugar which I can't stand (hello London!!) Palace of India passed my Vindaloo test with flying colours! I now trust them with other dishes and look forward to coming again soon. My brother had an interesting dish with citrus fruit in it. Rare to find fresh ingredients these days. The place was small but not cramped, being set in a tiny UK village I get that space is at a high cost locally. We sat by the window for a pleasant view. Toilets are upstairs, if you are disabled this may be an issue but they were clean and well maintained. Parking is fairly easy, we had roadworks blocking the road but you can park nearby if you don't mind a little walk or outside if lucky! Food came fresh, waiters very friendly. IMPORTANT!! For the first time in AGES we had a bill WITHOUT a service charge already added. I LOVE this! I will never leave a tip for places that do that. Palace of India just charged for the food so we rewarded them with a 20% tip. Total meal cost for 2 with tip 50 quid. We shared a starter, had a meal each with one rice, one naan and 2 papadums. The menu is varied and has some original dishes for sure. I would like to try them in the future. I cannot think of any negatives. This review is NOT sponsored I just love a good curry and these guys supplied it. Would I suggest any improvements? Maybe a slightly larger table? If you are in a group you will want to book as the place is on the cosy side. Perfect for a romantic meal for 2 though! Check the photos, food tastes like it looks. I don't give out 5 star reviews willy nilly but nothing was bad here, we had a small meal and everything was good. NB: pix have copyright info on to discourage people 'borrowing' them for free..

Worst restaurant I have ever stepped foot in. Heating was non existing meaning we were absolutely freezing the entire time. Kept my coat on! Was very dirty and the atmosphere was non existent. Also waited an hour for our starters and food was all cold. Will not be returning!

Best curry in Lanzarote – only complaint is there isn’t one in London! If you’re looking for a curry in Lanzarote, don’t think twice!

The best curry I’ve had in my life and I’ve had a fare few in my time. The chicken tikka masala was unbelievable and the Rohan josh was to die for. I staff and owner were lovely and had good jokes and banter. Couldn’t recommend this place enough. Every time I come to Lanzarote I will return!!!!

I have eaten at this restaurant on a few occasions and the food has always been excellent, the staff are always friendly and attentive, although this restaurant does not serve alcohol you take your own alcohol and there is no corkage fee either, well worth a visit 10 / 10+++++

Came here for dinner for the first time in a few years and was very disappointed to see its gone quite downhill. The food was just as good as it used to be so don’t be dissuaded if you’re getting a takeaway. But the service and ambience in the restaurant was awful. We were sat in the corner of the restaurant and felt like we were in a store room as the table next to ours had piles of napkins and stock piled on it. The staff which took our order weren’t friendly and literally threw our order on the table without any care. To make it worse, the staff at the bar were taking telephone orders on speakerphone for the whole room to hear and speaking loudly with drunken customers. Safe to say we won’t be returning. What a shame to see a nice restaurant go downhill!

Wow. What a little gem! Incredibly friendly staff, who were very attentive and did not rush our order. The food was delicious and although they don’t have an alcohol licence you can bring your own. Will certainly come here again and was worth the 30 minute drive to the restaurant.

I've changed my review on here as they have totally upped their game. Out of the last 5 Indian restaurants I've been to this was the best. Everything had decent taste, there were no watery curries. Even the poppadom chutneys were decent from the norm. Creamiest Tikka massala I've had in a while, propa nice. Yep will be coming back here!

Ordered a chicken vindaloo and a naga lamb, now the lamb dish had good heat but the vindaloo was the mildest curry I've ever had, I don't understand why some curry houses seem scared to prepare a hot vindaloo, fortunately not too many are like that.

My Daughter and I went here , for me it was the first time since before Covid. Its a shame they have stopped selling alcohol. But I do understand his reasoning..

What a pleasant surprise this little Indian restaurant was first time here And we had a lovely meal . Probably one of the best Indian actually. Definitely recommend it . Be aware they don’t sell alcohol. So you will need To bring your own. Which is not a problem.. great place

We returned here for the first time since the pandemic. So pleased that I remained in business, as the food remains of a good standard. This restaurant no longer has a licence to serve alcohol, which we bit aware of on attending but they do allow patrons to being their own. I think taking your own drinks is positive and it would not put me off returning at all... At least I know I will be able to enjoy my favourite drink and as long as its reasonable would not object to paying a corkage either.... possibly the way forward for some restaurants given the current climate. Highly recommend and will be returning

Great food and good service, however it wasn't until we went to order drinks that I was told they no longer serve alcohol due to religious reasons. Apparently you can bring your own beer etc and they don't charge corkage etc. If this is so, why then does their website say their bar serves wines and beers including Indian beers Kingfisher, Cobra etc. Be consistent. Although the food was excellent I won't be coming here again as I'm not bringing beer out to a restaurant.. this is a shame as I've been going there for nearly 30 years.

At the time of booking I was told no alcohol could be served and could bring your own. Which was good ( imagine an indian without a cold beer ) Food was excellent along with the service, would recommend booking as quite a small place and was busy on a Saturday when we where there.

Having visited here a few times now and sitting at home in lockdown, thought I’d give another mention to the lovely food and service that I always receive when eating at this establishment. My final visit pre Covid-19 saw me enjoy a great evening meal with 4 other friends. The food was served prompt given how full the place was, hot, well cooked and very tasty. It was a nice touch from the Manager to offer a free coffee or alcoholic drink of our choice after the meal too! I have always found staff and Management to be attentive, accommodating, polite and prompt. Looking forward to returning again when able to and would recommend you do the same.

We have been to this restaurant before and had several takeaways and they haven't been too bad, but we ordered one last week and unfortunately it was very cold by the time it arrived! Very disappointed! Will reconsider next time :(

I called the restaurant and said my delivery was cold and they said that I had complained before. To be fair I did because they missed out some of my order which I paid for. They have obviously flagged me up from my address because I complained. I haven't actually ordered from them for a long time and I did today and it was terrible. It was cold and just dumped in the porch but when I called them and said it was cold I got a load of abuse and I have complained in the past. Well yes obviously I did beacause there was food missing from the order.

My second visit in a group of 8 last night, every thing we ordered was well cooked and very tasty, staff brillient, service spot on, price very reasonable. All in all a very enjoyable night.

Okay so if you love, like Indian food you must try The Palace of India...its only small but its big on taste, the food is delicious. Tipu and his brother have been running the restaurant for over 25 years and they know what they're doing. Its success could mean a wait now and again just prompt Tipu and it'll soon arrive. Just enjoy the atmosphere, the smells and the food...

Food and venue always excellent and the owner is an absolute gentleman. However, they do overstretch themselves and service can be very slow. In summary, tasty food, lovely location in the village and nice people.....but be prepared to wait!

I visited recently whilst away on business, it was midweek and I was on my own. I ordered one of my favourite dishes, a lamb naga, done well it is superb with lots of flavour and heat. The dish served to me had neither, it was like a lamb casserole with nothing about it that you wanted to eat. I would have left it and gone but as the waiter asked me how my meal was I told him. He then popped downstairs and reappeared with the chef who asked what the problem was. I explained again only for the chef from his position stood behind the bar to start shouting across the restaurant that this was his lamb naga a truly beautiful dish, it really wasn't ! So, the meal was poor and I was shouted at by the chef whilst the owner/manager made himself scarce, I won't be going back.

Went here on Saturday,very disappointed with the customer service,unhelpful,didn’t want to listen to my comments & the food was poor no flavour taste less ,& the starters tasted just out the freezer ...wouldn’t go here again waste of money!

So first of all, I need to explain that I have intolerances to foods. I can’t eat Lactose (which includes onion) or chilli and am gluten free. I’m a nightmare. Perusing menus at Indian Restaurant’s is usually about finding the one thing on the menu I can eat and when the meal arrives, picking bits out anyway.However. Tonight I asked the owner if he could make my favourite (Prawn Puri main and mushroom rice) without any onion. A challenge for any chef.“Why not?!” He said.When it arrived, it was the envy of the table. Each dish was presented beautifully, of a huge portion size and most importantly, delicious; so flavoursome and rich with no onions at all!For once I was able to enjoy an Indian meal, experiencing all of the different and subtle flavours, without worry. I was so touched that Moyna took my concerns on board and without making me feel like a difficulty, cooked me a curry from scratch.Not only that, but it was so good, it silenced me - Apart from a few enthusiastic “Mmmmmmms”! If you have food sensitivities or allergies, this place is an example of how it should be dealt with. No compromise. Just amazing flavours.I highly recommend this restaurant.

Came here as a family on a Saturday night as a party of 10. The food is lovely here and considering there were a large number of us, the food came out all together. The service is fantastic, staff were very accommodating and friendly. We were even offered a complimentary drink after we paid the bill :)

The chingri puree had 2 prawns, the jalfrezi had no chillis, and the sag paneer had 3 paneer about the worst Indian I've ever had, jalfrezi was like it came from Chinese takeaway. Nothing worng with Chinese curry if you like it. Was looking forward to it shame

I used to eat regularly at Palace of India but hadn't been for a few year. I decided to order a takeaway for delivery. I was able to order the good online a couple of hours in advance and it arrived in time, freshly cooked. The food was just as good as I remembered, full of flavour and not at all greasy. I will definitely be ordering again soon. Also as a vegetarian it is lovely to have so many choices on the menu.

We attended here early this year for only the 2nd time and were not disappointed.

Again this was a restaurant that I had seen many times over the years and always promised myself that I would give it a try. Tonight was that night and I'm so glad I have.

A small cosy restaurant so booking is essential. Extensive menu with food cooked fresh to order. Friendly personal service. Been going there for years and would recommend to anyone. Parking is on the road outside, can get busy.

Ordered a takeaway online and it arrived 30 minutes late. No apology given. Onion Bhaji was cold and greasy. Prawn purée had 3 prawns in it. Tandoori mixed grill was awful...... skinny chicken leg with hardly any meat, 2 cubes of brown meat, not sure whether it was lamb or beef, 2 cubes of yellow chicken and a lamb kofte . Nan was nice though. The rest of the order was just adequate. . Overpriced for poor quality Indian takeaway. Won’t be ordering from there again.

Absolutely fantastic food, but overpriced. I guess you get what you pay for... I don't mind paying a bit more for quality, of course, but when you have 3 bits of meat on a whole curry, it gets a bit galling... Not to mention that we've had wrong food delivered before. Otherwise it would have got 5 stars.

Arrived a bit early having booked a window table made us welcome and sat us on table until our table was ready shared starter special mixed tandoori ample for two although for one also very tender meat , main courses of lamb and chicken also very well presented and so delicately spiced offered complimentary aperitif a very nice gesture if in this area thoroughly recommend

Service slapdash. Wrong food brought to table. Salmon Masala, salmon dry and cooked to long. I am afraid they have lost our custom.

Where else could you order food from, pay by cheque, and have the owner hold it in the till until your next visit because you forgot to sign it despite having both your telephone number and address. Clearly we have been eating here for years. The food is consistently good. The restaurant is small but it is what you expect in Farningham. The owner is attentive. Although they deliver it is a good night out.

Ready made spices and sauces used. Not authentic. I accidentally went in their store cupboard with was adjacent to the toilet. Floor to ceiling in Pataks commercial gear. Shocking for the money they charge. See for yourself next time you go!

A lovely meal in a very pleasant atmosphere.

We tried this restaurant this evening as we have not been here before. The restaurant is very small seating approx 40. The decor was nice and so was the welcome we received. The main course was served efficiently as were the first 2 rounds of drinks. Some of the vegetable curry was not available so we had to have an alternative. After our meal we were given a pudding menu, we didn't want pudding but requested a filter coffee and a calypso coffee. The calypso coffee was cold and tasted of pure sugar and no Tia Maria. We asked for the bill and a glass of white wine but were ignored for 45 minutes before we stopped another member of staff for the bill. The food here was average - nothing to shout about. I won't be rushing back here.

I went here for Dinner with all my family recently and we were not disappointed! This was a lovely dinner and service was top class! It was an exceptionally reasonable price and the food was not a disappointment! I have already told many people about it here it was lovely and I will definitely be returning!

Ok so I don't usually write reviews but by jeas this was the worst experience of Indian dining I've experienced

Terrible food! Pakoras as nuggets? Never have I seen food so sloppy! Naan bread burnt the only decent food was the popadoms which they forgot so my partner had to go to get the popadoms. No spice in any of the food. Never would I even ask for money back and return food to a restaurant but this is the worst tasting Indian the 4 of us had ever had!! And salsa as a dip? Meant to be a Indian... Much better of going to get microwave Indian from Asda!!

We have eaten at the Palace of India on a number of occasions and can really recommend it for the atmosphere, the great staff and a lovely choice of tasty food.

Had a lovely meal here on a weekday evening. Really interesting menu. Everything we had was delicious and generously portioned. Very friendly service as well.

4 of us went here for my wife’s birthday. We all wanted to try something different so asked waiter for his recommendations. When chose 4 different dishes from the specials s section of the menu, the palace special, tandoori bunna, special berihani and something else. But when the dishes arrived the chef had used the same sauce for all four dishes. Which wasn’t that special anyway. I pointed this out to the owner who simply shrugged his shoulders!

Small but lovely Indian restaurant in converted terrace house in Farningham village. Good selection of dishes and great service. Have been using for 15+ years and know staff well. Great value 'all you can eat' buffet on Sunday. Recommended.
