Really friendly and accommodating staff, good service too. Food was terrible we had beef and chicken burgers with onion rings and chicken wings. Wings were fine, burgers and onion rings were bland and really dry. I'd bet they're cheap reheated pre-cooked frozen, zero chance at all they're freshly made or even freshly bought IMO. My wife was up all night being sick, we won't be back.

4.90 for a pint of Coors. Nachos didnt seem fresh and served in a basket with a tissue that stuck fast to the melted cheese which got everywhere. I had a much better experience at the Esquire down the road. Nice baked potato and 2.97 for a pint of Coors. Sorry, but I have to knock the Lock. 1/5

I didn't eat here because I only stopped for a nice pint of cider, so I can't comment on the food. But the couple's food at the next table looked good. I like the pub because it has a great location if you are walking or cycling along the canal towpath. You can't miss it, and it's a very pleasant spot to sit outside for a drink or a bite. The atmosphere is really nice on a sunny day.

We visited this bar / restaurant a couple of weeks ago and stopped in for a spot of lunch. We had a little dog with us and it was made very welcome. Our lunches were very nice and went went down a treat. The bar was not busy so we decided to go up and pay the bill. After we had left I told my wife the cost and she was surprised it was so expensive. We only had a sandwich and a pint of draught fizzy water each. I contacted Lock27 to get a copy of the transaction as I believed I had been over charged. Their reply indicated that we were charged correctly and they enclosed a photo of the receipt. When I viewed the receipt it was debatable whether I was over charged or not. Lock27 charge 2 x £3 for what is basically a glass of water with some CO2. It would be interesting to see the justification for this outrageous charge. Sorry we will not be back which is a pity because the staff were great and the food cost was reasonable..

I gave 3 stars for Lock 27 even though ghe Service and Atmosphere were on 4 stars. This is because the price of a drink is a bit pricey @ around £5.60 a pint.We went on a Saturday when there was a Band playing a variety of mostly chart songs. There was a good crowd but the Band were a bit hit and miss with some songs being done well and vocals quite good, then another song was not so good with the vocals not great. The Band took a break and the customers cut down to about a third of what had been a full house before the Band continued.Nice Pub that offers food and good Bar Staff, but the price of a Pint compared to Wetherspoons which is less than a 10 minute walk from Lock 27,is a bit much.

I recently lost my Mum and as Lock 27 was close by to all her family and friends, we decided to have her Wake after the funeral at the Lock. I’d asked to be catered for about 35 people and when we walked in we were blown away by the friendliness of the staff on duty and the spread of food that greeted us on our arrival. Home made lentil soup, wonderful selection of sandwiches, chicken strips, sausage rolls, pakora bites, etc , tea coffee, . and delicious little desserts!! Most folk stayed all afternoon and it took us a good few hours to get through it all! I’d asked Chris, the owner to play a wee video of my Mum on the big TV and he set up his computer so we could show the video which all her friends and family adored. A lovely touch and it turned what can be a difficult day into an absolute delight which a lot of Mum’s friends said she would have loved. I found myself back at Lock 27 today for a neighbour’s funeral and yet again they got a great send off! I would heartily recommend Lock 27 for this type of event and I never really leave reviews, but credit where credit’s due. Very pleased indeed!

So much potential with location, however, the curse of the pubco strikes again. 'Out the packet' style branding, over-priced mainstream beers with no real imagination towards the modern drinker. Staff were brilliant though and always carry on with a smile on their face.

Whilst the food has always been to a v good standard and it is a nice spot to sit outside on the canal on a sunny day I always come away feeling that the place could be so much more than it is.The general place could do with a bit of an overhaul/ re decoration and the beer on tap is disappointing. One or two more craft beers would really lift the selection. The service can also be a wee bit hit and miss. Sometimes I have had brilliant service and other times it has been a wee bit too rough and ready. I feel with smartening the place up a bit it would be a real go to spot given the canal side location.

Dropped in here with a friend for lunch .First and last time. Should have turned back as we opened the door when we were almost overcome with the all-pervasive smell of disinfectant. What required to be disinfected to that extent and why ? Anyway , we were pointed in the direction of a free table by a gentleman whom I assumed to be the owner, ensconced behind the bar, surveying his fiefdom . I've read a number of reviews where mention is made of this chap . No, there aren't any virtues in being brusque or rude as this guy undoubtedly is - it's service with a smile that works for me, not a scowl .If you can't bother your backside being a mein host , then go and do something else ! The interior was pretty dingy and seemed to have as it's customers a rather eclectic bunch - a few Napoleon Solos nursing a pint and reading a paper and a few couples. The food was overpriced, unimaginative and there wasn't much of it - head down the road to Morrisons and get their all day mega breakfast - far superior quality, quantity and for half the price.......only problem is , you can't get an alcoholic drink with it . Will leave this place to it's loyal band of customers who have clearly cultivated tastes in bland , overpriced scran and rude service. Strange....

We have eaten here on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed. With the lovely tartan carpets and original features, it has a great Scottish feeling. Canal boats pull up alongside, as well as regular customers who enjoy the ambiance. The food is not only good value, but tastes great. The bar staff are friendly and helpful. The owner is a bit of a Basil Fawlty Towers type, but always is immaculately dressed, and is his "own man". He definitely wants to please, but at the same time "doesn't suffer fools gladly", which is great as you don't get any trouble makers here. We are not easily pleased, but we have enjoyed every visit to this establishment. If you want to enjoy a relaxing atmosphere, enjoy good food, sit outside if the weather allows - or go inside and enjoy nice surroundings - I doubt you will disappointed. When ordering a drink the Manager pointed out that the draft cider asked for was 7.4% and unsuitable if driving - very helpful and thanks for the tip- alternatively, ordered wine and happy to know would not be over the limit. Our attention was drawn to the special of two main courses and a bottle of wine for £20 and which included any main course on the menu. We ordered the fish and chips and chicken fajitas both which were fresh and well cooked. Excellent food and service. The only down side was the lack of parking, if a waiting taxi hadn't pulled out to let us park then we would have had to drive away' Will be back soon.

While holidaying in Glasgow my friend and I decided to go out for a drink. Lock 27 was the nearest pub, it sounded lovely, being by the river/canal, it was quite late so I phoned to ask what time they closed - the guy on phone said 1am - so we decided to walk - it was a lovely night and we were looking forward to sitting outside by the canal having a drink. We walked over a mile, arriving about 11.30pm. There was no atmosphere, one table full of teenagers & some poor fish in a manky fish tank. It was so late and we'd walked so far that we decided to stay. Ordered a drink - went to go outside but the bouncer stopped us - no drinks allowed outside!! Went back and sat down and last orders were called!! So much for opening till 1am!! We drank our drink and left. Probably won't go back ...

I remembered enjoying a previous visit so took my friend when we were staying in the area. A long walk but worth it - the food was really good and the service was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was an offer - two main meals and a bottle of wine £20 - incredible value.

I stumbled across this restaurant walking back from Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum and University of Glasgow. I had the £6.50 lunch special, choosing the Jacques Monsiour (Croque Monsiour). I was so impressed with the quality of this sandwich. It was delicious, fresh and I thoroughly enjoyed the side salad and coleslaw too! The service was lovely also and as I attended solo, the guy was lovely enough to seat me in my own area to the side which felt very private and relaxing after a long morning of sight seeing! Food, value for money and service were all amazing. I definitely wouldn’t hesitate going again!

Nice place with good views but expensive. Edit: Now we visited this place many times so I can write review in detail. This place is lil expensive compared to other bar but what I like most is, there is no noise, you can enjoy your time with colleagues talking while having drinks. You don't need to shout to talk. A peaceful place with a very good view that too next to Glasgow central station.

Don't go in if you have any hint of a wrinkle.

Restaurant closed. No sign of life. Was after opening time. Tables and chairs not yet out. Saw someone else walk away too so that's more than just me they missed out on.

Great find - best coffee I've had in Glasgow - they really know what they are doing here with the coffee. I've tried many rated coffee shops and this surpasses all by quite a way. The offered pastries were also very good. A must visit in Glasgow - you will not be disappointed..
