Locanda Romana in Scottish Borders

We spent the night in our motorhome in the car park immediately across the road. Had a great meal here, very friendly. Unlike a lot of resaurants, the staff here seemed to enjoy what they were doing. Food was really nice. We will be back.

Food absolutely amazing, Franco and team were really really good and the expertise with recommending the Red wine was greatly appreciated. Will 100% be returning

The food, service ( from all staff) and the atmosphere are absolutely first class .We managed to get in two nights on the trott and it was so worth it! It's been along time since you can go somewhere and have fabulous food like this ....not forgetting Franco the owner xx

Fantastic food and service at Locanda Romana. We were only staying in Hawick for one night - hadn't thought to book and it was full, but the proprietor suggested we came back in an hour. We returned to a really friendly welcome, great service and truly delicious food. I'm only sorry we don't live closer so we could return on a regular basis. This place is a gem.

Visiting Hawick for a few days, went to this restaurant for our evening meal. Mid week in January so not surprised to see few other diners. Service was great and very friendly and the food was delicious. Happy to recommend to everyone!

Really good food, happy and enjoyable atmosphere, great service and all at a reasonable price. I had the special tonight, tagliatelle al tartufo, with Italian sausage and black truffles with cream. Absolutely delicious. Thank you to Franco and his team for making it so special for my wife's 75th birthday. We'll be back.

Just back from a lovely birthday meal for our Dads 70th at Locanda Romanda. Absolutely DELICIOUS pasta and sorbet, and a charmingly good humoured server who was very attentive. And good fun! Support local businesses :) 100% recommend

Awfully racist and Islamaphobic owners who refused Muslims from entering due to the way they were dressed (mens Islamic attire). They lied and said it was closed when in reality in remained open for service for hours! Despicable. Edit: The audacity for this restaurant to accuse us of intoxication or substance use! Haha. We are (thankfully) practicing Muslim and do not drink, nor take drugs. What an ignorant comment!

I don’t recommend coming here for breakfast at all it was absolutely awful. Gave me food poisoning.

Beyond amazing!!! The best meals we have ever had, perfect portion sizes, the staff excelled way beyond anything we've ever experienced, the food was just wow!!! My young son said that 'if there is food in heaven, this is what it tastes like'. These guys have created such a beautiful place and atmosphere that we felt like we were right there in Italy! Highly recommend this one.

Love this place! Warm and homely decor and atmosphere, and friendly and helpful staff. No pizza here - this Italian specialises in pasta and has a great range to choose from. Highly recommended.

Popped in on the off chance, and they fitted us in. The atmosphere is set off by lovely staff, then some great music in the background followed by tasteful decor. The food is delicious and we ate a 3 course with beer/wine for £60. Thank you again for a surprise non booked delicious meal on my birthday...
