Great place to eat. Brilliant food

Food was excellent and the service was even better! Our servers were incredibly friendly and provided us with personalised music choices!

We thoroughly enjoyed our first dining experience at Lo Zafferano. All the food that we ordered were amazing and serving portions are generous and well worth the price. The penne arrabbiata is highly recommended as well as their branzino. Great atmosphere and the staff are friendly and very accommodating. We have been looking for a local Italian restaurant for a while and we finally found it! I highly recommend Lo Zafferano and we will be returning for sure.

Me and my family decided to try out this restaurant to celebrate my grandmother’s anniversary (would recommend booking in advance, the restaurant is definitely a hot spot in Coulsdon)! One of my best experiences in a restaurant, truly! Great staff, very attentive and nice, the food is amazing, full of flavour and just on point, even the desserts are tasty! Will recommend this restaurant to my friends and I will most definitely come back! A big thank you to the staff for giving my grandma a great experience on her special day!

We had very bad Experience tonight at this restaurant. Dogs in the restaurant, the waiter going out and stroking the dog, and coming in a serving customer, I have a dog my self by I don’t take my dog to a restaurant specially inside of a restaurant. Food is very tasteless , standard very low . I would not recommend to nobody, and I would not go back again. I just wasted my money

We go to this restaurant on a regular basis and can confirm that the food is delicious and well presented. The service is always good and the prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is also excellent. On our last visit they went out of their way to accommodate 10 people at short notice and rearranged the tables to fit us in. 10 out of 10. Highly recommend and well worth a visit.

We celebrated my 50th birthday party at Lo Zafferano with 15 friends of ours. The food was fantastic and the service was absolutely brilliant. Karelys, Miguel and the team took great care of us making it a very special evening with memories to cherish.

The pasta was really good, i am a big fan of pasta with pesto, and the one they did was the best one i tasted in a long time, they also do really good cocktails, not saturated with alcohol like in other places. The staff on the floor and the kitchen are really friendly. While my visit there had many guests, the music wasn't loud and i still enjoyed my conversation. I would suggest giving it a visit!

Cracking place with brilliant Italian food. Loved the arancine balls and squid starters followed by pasta and pizza. Nice range of wines too. We will be back and will also bring the family as they have a special children's menu which is good value too!

The first impression was good, I had pasta once and was decent. Then we went for fish and seafood and I had the most chewing octopus I ever had, a real disappointment. The seafood platter was good. I'd say it is totally overpriced for the quality.

Food is very tasty and fresh, with lots of variety. Service on first visit was brilliant too but not so good on our second visit, appear to have kept on some staff from the previous owner.

We had an unexpected trip to Lo Zafferano, late on Saturday evening after having issues with an earlier dinner at another restaurant. From the minute we walked in, we were so impressed with the atmosphere and attitude of the staff, lots of jokes flying round and felt like a huge weight off our shoulders from the earlier disappointment. 5 of us ordered something different from each of the menus and when it arrived they were all presented beautifully and tasted delicious Also the strawberry mojitos are to die for!!! Absolutely 10/10 on all parts. Thank you all, we had a lovely evening! :)

Went here on a Thursday night and it was lovely, chilled setting, delicious food (both for vegetarian and a sea food lover!). The waiter and other staff were welcoming, attentive and helpful. Reasonably priced and great portion sizes.

My return visit and equally as impressed by the quality and range of food. So lucky this is my local Italian restaurant.

We went on a Tuesday evening. Very nice food and wine all freshly prepared. Waiter made you feel very welcome and attended to all our wishes with a smile. Well worth a visit. I will return to try other dishes on the menu.

Under new management, there has been some lovely additions to the menu. Good quality food, service excellent and as always, a great atmosphere.

First time here but clearly a popular restaurant. Our starters were a bit late arriving but they offered us free drinks to make up for that so that's fine, and they were very busy. Food was delicious, I had mussels followed by a seafood pasta. We all thought the food was excellent. Too full for dessert, but what went past us also looked very nice.

Lovely Gem of a restaurant! Delicious food, nice variety of pastas, pizzas, appetizers etc. The portion of each main was outstanding! The service was wonderful, very attentive. Clean and modern decor…perfect for a nice dinner with friends & family. There’s a kids menu with good options.

Just returned to this restaurant since it changed hands and renamed. It's just as good maybe even better than the previous place. The wife really enjoys the sea food. Service is great, there at the right time without being intrusive. Highly recommend.

Lovely seafood and pizza, terrible potatoes. My mum couldn’t even eat them at all as they were bitter. When we complained, they just shrugged and carried on.

Absolutely loved the restaurant. I had a superb dinner on Saturday night, fantastic service too. Octopus carpaccio and seabass carpaccio are a must to try, for main I had a grilled octopus with new potatoes and salsa verde which was to die for. Highly recommended

Absolutely fantastic! Food is delicious!

First time here since it was La Scarpetta and I was impressed. There was a good atmosphere and the staff were friendly. The food was very tasty and also reasonably priced. The only thing I will fault was the wait for the main, however, it was Valentines night and therefore busy so I have no problem overlooking that this time. Overall a good experience and we will be returning very soon!

What a gem of a place! I dined there last night with two friends, the food was absolutely delicious, large portions, excellent inobtrusive service and reasonable prices for such excellent quality. Last but not least, I loved the setting of the tables that give you a degree of privacy and the soft music which allows conversation . Thank you to the Chef and all the staff for a lovely evening! Unfortunately, my experience has not been positive. The Aperol spritz was watery, you could not taste the aperol, either there was too much soda or a flat prosecco, the sharing platter was OK, the little arancini ball was nice, but the calamari luck taste and were "chewie" the bruschetta bread was not very nice, plain. The focaccia bread was a bit old not fresh. I had pizza and it was OK nothing exceptional but eatable. I was expecting a lot more as the menu looks Italian, but the quality of food is clearly not Italian, very disappointing if they were to use Italian products the quality would certainly improve. Also I had some of my pizza to take away and the waiter when took the plate simply grab the corner of my pizza with his hands, obviously I through it away after. Sorry but I would not recommend this place.

Lo Zafferano is my new must-eat place in the south Croydon Area. A new Italian restaurant with excellent staff and amazing food, I'm not saying this lightly, the food is AMAZING from the starters to the main course(you always need to keep space for the desert 😋 please try the "tre latte cake"), the wine and cocktail menus are varied ( falling in love with long Iceland ice tea) and they got one of the best rum I ever tried. I can't recommend it enough, I definitely will coming back

Lo Zafferano hosts the best and flavoursome authentic Italian cuisine. The menu is well varied and suitable for vegetarians too. Portion sizes are very generous and aesthetically pleasing to the eye and tastebuds. The deserts and cocktail menu is also mouthwatering! The service is always very warming and inviting- always feeling welcomed and taken care of. The atmosphere is very soothing and relaxing with perfect lighting and music. I regularly frequent Lo Zafferano and will continue to do so!!!

I was pleasantly surprised to have such a good experience at this little place in Couldson. There was a great atmosphere on a Friday night, friendly service and tasty food! I was disappointed the spaghetti vongole was unavailable, but the lamb ragu pappardelle was delicious! Definitely will go back and highly recommend.
