Absolutely pathetic, glacial service. In fairness to them, not helped by rediculous members of the public who can't decide what they want until they arrive at the till, then spend 10 minutes placing their orders of stuff that takes ages to prepare.

My two friends and I booked Afternoon Tea here. We treat ourselves every couple of months. The title of the review says it all, rather bland sandwiches - cheese, ham and egg, one cherry tomato each and a few slices of cucumber. The cakes were very good but the most disappointing thing was the fact that we had to purchase any additional tea or coffees. All other venues we have visited its unlimited refills. The food being delivered to all other tables, I have to say, looked amazing

We found the staff to be extremely helpful, and friendly. I booked a day boat to go over the aqueduct with family and friends on my 70th birthday, and enjoyed every minute, The weather was good up to our return journey, we got caught in a downpour shower, which made us a bit late returning, but the staff understood. And waited for us. Some good facilities on the canal side, near the Telford pub is moorings and a visitor centre about the aqueduct , it was very good well worth a visit. Thanks for a memorable trip !

Some space internally but also plenty of bench seating on the wharf side under large umbrellas. We had lunch here on our first day in town and returned for ice cream’s several times after. Our lunchtime sandwiches were plentiful and fresh and no complaints for the service levels from the young staff. The cafe is just one part of the Llangollen Wharf, which includes the ticket office for the canal barge trips, an ice cream booth and a small visitors shop. We visited various parts of it during our weeks stay in Llangollen and found it a well run business.

I rang The Wharf on the morning of 24 February to see if they could accommodate a takeaway afternoon tea for the following day for my mum's 80th birthday. Neil called me back and took the booking (even though I didn't leave a message). As I was going to be travelling, I needed to collect the food at around 9.30 am and straightaway he said this wouldn't be a problem, he'd ask a member of staff to come in early so that the scones would be ready in time - how lovely was that?! I picked it up as arranged and it was fab. Everything was really tasty and mum was very impressed too :). Thank you to everyone who was able to make this happen. We visited Llangollen on Good Friday and had planned on going on a 45 minute horse drawn boat trip. We arrived a little later than we had hoped to so went straight to the Wharf. We arrived at around 12.05 so had just missed the 12 o clock boat. Having 25 minutes to kill while we waited for the next one we decided to get a cake and drink from the cafe. There was a great choice of cakes. The savoury food also looked good. There were several tables inside and also quite a lot of seating outside. As it was a warm day we chose an outdoor table. As the wharf is raised up there are views over Llangollen to one side and the canal to the other so a very good location. Service was good. I would return.

I was a little apprehensive about taking this trip because heights are definitely not my thing. However the trip of the aqueduct was great and you do not get a feeling of height even though you are something like 40 metres up. The journey takes a bout 2 hours then a quick bus ride back to llangollen. Thought the price well worth it. Young lady dealing with food and drink was charming and most attentive. The driver (?) had a nice line in dry humour and provided commentary where necessary rather than rabbiting on for the whole two hours. Give this one a try even if you dont like heights.

Booked some weeks ago the Valentines Afternoon Tea for two for 17/02/2018, on arrival when I said i'd booked the tea it was the sheer look of surprise on face of the girl covering reception that alerted me to that feeling of unease, nobody had told her about our booking but she checked the book and there it was!, we were then informed due to a busy period they could only offer us cheese, tuna or egg sandwich's, we said cheese and tuna (Ham would have been nice), we were told they would do the tea and pick a table. We did not have to wait long for the food to arrive, we started eating our tea awaiting our drinks, by the time we'd finished the sandwhich's my husband had to go and ask for our drinks because they had forgot all about them. The scones and cakes had been taken from items on display, to say the scones were rock hard is an understatement, you could have knocked somebody out cold with them, i did not eat mine and we ended up giving it and the cream away to another customer, the coffee cake was passable JUST!! What was meant to be a special tea for our first Valentines together was a complete and utter dissapointment and they still had the bare faced cheek to charge £14.95p if i had known this was going to be sub standard i would never have booked it.

Increasingly frustrated with the service at the wharf cafe. The ordering system needs an overhaul as relatively small queues take ages to clear as servers take orders for food, then leave the order on the counter whilst they make all your drinks, then take your payment, and then finally put the order into the kitchen once you have sat down, after having already spent a good 20 minutes in the queue to order. The food this cafe does they do very well and the soup is the best in llangollen. But the service has got slower and slower in the years I've been coming here. Table service would remove the queue in the small space and be much quicker, or a revamp of the working system at the counter. I live in town and have loved this cafe but am now embarrassed to bring friends and family here or recommend it as if busy it's such a long wait.

After searching on the net for info on what we could do in North Wales I stumbled on the narrow boat cruises in Llangollen. Bookings online could only be made 2 weeks in advance. I had everything else organised & booked for our 5 week holiday. I was watching the website daily to ensure I could get 2 tickets. On the date 2 weeks prior, I went on the website about 6 times checking when the bookings opened, allowing for the time difference. Within 30 minutes of me checking they were all booked out. I was very disappointed & emailed the company. I was told they are all for coach bookings. I was able to book the trip in the opposite direction from Frontscyllte Wharf. My online ticket that I printed off failed to tell me that we had to first go to Llangollen Wharf & catch a bus to Frontscyllte so when you get off the boat, your car is in Llangollen. We got ourselves to Frontscyllte Wharf-no signage & then had to catch public transport back to Trevor & had to walk about 2 km to our car after our boat journey. We did enjoy our boat trip, however their poor communication put a damper on the whole experience.

Fab lunch today in this cute family run cafe in Rhewl on the way to Ruthin (first left just past Drovers Pub) Small shop area with gifts but mainly a cafe with lots of seating plus outdoor seating overlooking the Clwydian mountain range. Reasonable prices and great lunch and breakfast menu choices. We also noticed an afternoon tea on the table next to us (we asked to take a photo) looked delicious 👏👏. 5/5 👜 handbag cafe review well worth a trip out 👍 Mug Run

I visit here quite regular. They do so many choices and it's so tasty. Made to tour choice and they are a very reasonable price. Would never go to another sandwich bar. My personal favourite is Chinese chicken.

This is now called Boba Geeks Cafe. We went in expecting the usually greasy cafe food with frozen chips . We were pleasantly surprised. Home made chips with sausage, egg and beans all cooked to perfection. The chef uses all fresh ingredients in all his food and does a traditional roast on a Sunday. We paid £21 for 3 meals and 3 drinks which I thought was a real bargain.
