Thank you Simon, family & all your hard working staff. We had a fabulous break in your beautiful new shepherds hut. Can’t believe how good it is from the last one. It’s superb and well kitted out and has a double bed and two bunk beds. It had all cutlery, plates, bowls, utensils and pans. A great small fridge and a two burner stove with a lovely whistling kettle 🤩 The painted fence looks superb too. Well done as you’ve all worked so hard to get it as it is. We loved staying 🤩

Visited here with friends and tried to use the cafe. They were cleaning even though it wasn't officially closing. Reluctantly made us instant coffee. There was a large party of German mountain bikers who also hoped for sustenance. It's a shame that we do tourism so badly. Not likely to go back there again.

My cousin took me to one of her hidden gems, the Llandegla Fishery Cafe. This wonderful little eatery is among the lakes and ponds of the trout fishery, and offers first class smoked trout, as well as other quality local fare. I had scrambled eggs with the trout, toast, mushrooms and fried tomato. This was accompanied by a good latte. The eggs were tasty, and the trout really complimented them, as nicely as any smoked salmon would, and in fact more delicately than salmon would have. The service was good, and the views over the fishery and the surrounding mountains was fabulous.

Came upon this place purely by chance on our way to Machynlleth. Basically it's lake fishing with a cafe. The fishermen were mainly families. The cafe served everyone, fishing or not. Some really tempting offerings on a varied menu. We settled for chicken and bacon paninis. Very tasty they were too. It was Saturday when we called and quite busy so we waited a little longer for our lunch. Would definitely call again.

£90 a night for a tent with beds! Poorly equipped for self catering. No shelter for catering if the weather is bad. Facilities were shocking!! Portaloo that hadn’t been cleaned or emptied in what seemed like weeks, no loo blu. 1 loo to serve all campers and fishermen alike. When approaching the staff the following morning with the fact, female staff in the cafe were nonchalant and stated what do you expect, it’s camping!!! I know when camping you go without a lot, however, when ‘Glamping’ at £90 a night the very least expected is clean and adequate facilities! The bell tents are at the top of a steep hill and where the weather had been so wet, the cars wouldn’t go up the boggy grass. Unloading the cars and loading again were incredibly tiresome lugging up and down the hill in the pouring rain. Not to mention how dangerous it is at night if you needed the loo to negotiate an extremely wet and slippery hill in total darkness! We as a party of 2 families with children, do not recommend this site at all and sadly we will not be coming back 😔

We called in today for a late breakfast as we’d read reviews and we are staying nearby. We were greeted by a small noticeboard saying that full breakfasts weren’t available but a small range of items were including breakfast baps. Slightly disappointed we went ahead and ordered two breakfast baps, one tea and one coffee. We waited about 15 minutes for our drinks, my partner drinks his tea black but the tea arrived with milk already added, I guess we were expecting a pot of tea and some milk. A further 20 minutes later the breakfast buns arrived. Two ladies sat nearby waited 40 minutes for two bowls of fries !! The food was fine although I thought one very thin sausage was a tad stingy. We ate our breakfast and left a little perplexed that if sausages, bacon, black pudding and fried eggs were all available why we couldn’t have these on a plate rather than in a bun. The reviews are brilliant for this place so I’m assuming we were just unlucky. Shame.

I live down the road and often go for breakfast which is simply the best breakfast in the area. Staff are friendly and hard working. Last week I invited family and friends over for the annual fishing competition, first time in Wales an important date in the fishing calendar. The sun shone and so did the food at the lakeside, great coffee and first class advice and service. This is business is run by a family and they work hard to achieve perfection. The fish are well looked after with strict rules to make sure they are in prime condition and they are hard to catch so its not a hook fest you need to work hard to catch them. Friend raved about it and are already considering coming back for more and moving the competition to Wales. Great place recommended.

I have visited this beautiful fishery on several occasions and it never fails to amaze me at the high standard of fishing and beauty. On this trip my 7 year old daughter accompanied me on a 2 day fishing outing. Within 5 minutes of dropping the hook into the margins of the top pool she was in to her first ever Barbell, and from that moment in the fish kept on coming. The scenery is beautiful and the staff are friendly. The owner of the fisheries, who I have met a couple of times is a fine chap, who is never to busy for a chat. Breakfast in the onsite cafe is a must! Free range and just perfect. The rest of the menu looked pretty good to! So if your looking to camp right next to a well stocked fishing lake, with beautiful scenery, good company and great food, I highly recommend you give them a visit.

Not been since these people have been here, don't live too far away so decided to call for a breakfast. Not over busy in the cafe but waited nearly half an hour for a cup of tea (which came out one by one!). The girl who was in charge then started cooking our breakfasts but halfway through she took some drinks outside and on her way back, stopped to help a chap with his fishing rod - she seemed to be attaching some bait to the end - then she went straight back into the kitchen to carry on cooking without washing her hands. Our breakfast was eventually served (one by one!) but the egg was cold and the sausage was too herby for me. Very disappointed - will not be returning.

Visited with a group of cyclists who ordered coffees, teas, cakes and a few basic meals like beans on toast and sausage bap. We all ordered and paid separately. It just took far too long for everything to arrive. It must have been 30 mins until our drinks started to arrive one at a time. My scone came 15 minutes later, after I had finished my coffee. Not quite sure why, as all the cakes were available on the counter when we ordered. The brownies came out one at a time, despite the fact that the people who ordered had asked to take them at the time of order. They were told no, and that they would be brought out. The food was fine, but service completely disorganised. Most cafes tend to make the drinks when ordered so the customer can take it with them. There didn't appear to be any trays, which would have helped with bringing out the orders.I feel a bit mean only giving 2 stars, but can't justify higher as the service was too poor.

I've driven by lots of times but this was the first time we have actually stopped. I was initially disappointed that being a trout farm there was no fresh trout on the menu, but the smoked trout salad was lovely. The home-baked meringue with fresh fruit was perfect. Service was very friendly. The only real down side was that we were sat near the door that unless people made an effort to shut it properly it kept swinging open again. So we had to get up to close it on numerous occasions as it was a bit draughty. I will visit here again and having seen the menu now there is plenty of 'non-fish' items so will bring the boys along too.

I loved its small cafe that sells lovely food. Especially the trout salad was my favourite. Quiche was cold but I would have liked if it was hot. All the foods were freshly cooked and the price was adequate. I Will definitely go back there.

I’m in a quandary writing this, do I tell it as it is and lose the exclusivity? Or do I dumb it down? Well having just spent a week there, I have to tell it as it is; in one word it is perfect! Simon and his staff work wonders to make your stay one that you place in your lifetime memory chest. The food though limited, is superb, the fishing is much more than you would expect from this type of venue, and every person you meet on the site are happy campers whether they are Fishing, Mountain Biking or just Walking.. Pay a visit #topplace #bigfish #perfect

I'm ashamed to say this place is practically on my doorstep and I've never been before, until today...I have fished all different ways for over 20 years but never tried fly fishing. Two of my lads (10 and 11) had a lesson booked with the local angling club. It was a beautiful day so I decided to give it a try myself. The waters are teaming with fish. The grounds were clean and tidy. The café is small but adequate, especially in dry weather as there is lots of seating available Al fresco. The food I had was fabulous and the varied menu looked excellent and very good value. The staff were very friendly and although I live only about 10 miles away, I will be visiting again with the camping gear to make a weekend of it.

Stayed here for 1 night after MTB in coed llandegla, which is one minute away, the kids fished and caught trout. Great fun. It was peaceful, loads of space and with very little midges :). The showers, toilets and kitchen sink were clean. There is a cafe/shop on site. We did not eat here but it was busy in the morning which is a good sign. Price was very reasonable and the owners were friendly. Best site we stayed in on our holiday of a different site every night.

We enjoyed a lovely one night stop camping at the site. We were provided with a fire pit for small cost and plenty of wood to burn. We got a great spot overlooking the top pond and awoke to a tranquil, sunny Sunday morning. A short stroll to the café provided us with a delicious breakfast using local produce; and we left with a dozen free range eggs and full stomachs ready for a day on the mountain bikes at Llandegla forest, literally a two minute drive away. Needless to say we have just booked for another one night stop next weekend and we hope to bring along some of our family this time too! Simple and Perfect.

Been to the fishery cafe for breakfast twice in a month last visited 3rd July can't fault it brill. Everything nice and fresh, nice people working there, nice setting looking out over the lakes while you eat. The only problem for me was the price, on both of my visits I had the same to eat exactly but I was charged different each time, the reason I didn't complain there where too many people eating I didn't want to make a scene. I think they need to make sure they get the prices right or people might stop going there and that would be a shame. I will go again sometime but if the price is not right next time I'll have to say something sorry.

As well as being a cafe serving tasty steak burgers, breakfasts, smoked trout(yummy) and home made scones, all reasonably priced, this place is also a B&B,camping and caravaning site. You can also fish for trout. This is all set in wonderful surroundings. It is family run and all the staff are helpful and friendly.

This is a great facility that has been open for a couple of years or so. It is basically a collection of fishing ponds with a couple of cottages for accommodation, together with provision for touring caravans and tents. It is located in a beautiful setting, convenient for all the attractions of North Wales and of course has the Llandegla Mountain Bike Centre just opposite. The new owners have done a fantastic job in developing this site and all the hard work seems to be paying off. We stop off here regularly to eat and the quality of food and service is excellent. The owners and staff are always friendly and it is always a pleasure to call.

Just had a wonderful 1 night stop over in the cottage. An incredible little place where the welcome is far more important that the facilties, more suited to adults the cottage has excellent facilties and nothing was too much trouble for the staff to help with and it made our stay so much more enjoyable. I will absolutely be going back on a regular basis for the best ultimate breakfast ever. And if you can't live without some mod cons the freesat TV's and great kitchen will sort you out no problem. But the twin log burners are the business in my opinion, toasty warm all night long.

We stayed in our caravan here this weekend and had such a good time I felt I needed to sign up to Trip Advisor to write a review. The whole experience, from booking over the phone to paying for our stay at the end was simple, straightforward and relaxed. The handful of caravan pitches were in amongst with the grassy banks and clear pools of the fishery, and when we arrived late on Thursday we just picked one that suited us and got set up with no fuss. The pitches were all nice and level, with electric, water and bins all helpfully placed. The relaxed and stress free nature of the site combined with the nice views and pretty surroundings made it a welcome break from the strict and rigid enforcement of hundreds of rules you get at some bigger sites, though the toilets and shower facilities were clean and modern and wouldn't have been out of place at a much more expensive campsite. We chose this site due to its close proximity to the walking and mountain bike trails at Llandegla visitor centre, and we couldn't have picked anywhere better. The entrance to the mountain bike trail centre was straight across the road, which meant walking the dog and bike rides took place straight from the caravan door. With a huge choice of both natural and man made bike trails, footpaths and the fishing available from your doorstep, if you like outdoor holidays you can't go far wrong with this place. We had both breakfast and lunch at the fishery cafe, which I was also impressed with. The full english breakfast was possibly the best I've eaten out anywhere, I would have been happy with it if I had paid twice the price! Not being into fishing I can't comment on how reasonably priced the fishing fees were, but the accomodation and food were both great value for money, and I would've been happy to pay more for the quality and service we got from the staff.

Hi,Spent another long w/e at this CL site and once again had a great time! Great fishing and the cafe is outstanding - at least the scones and apple pie are as that's all we've tried! Very friendly owners and staff - nothing is too much trouble. Walking in the nearby forest is excellent with views right back across Cheshire to Staffordshire and we saw the Black Grouse!

First time visiting and we had a fantastic afternoon tea - absolutely delicious! The service was absolutely excellent and the staff were brilliant with catering for children. Nothing was too much trouble! We were so impressed with our experience and will be back. I didn’t get her name unfortunately, but the blonde waitress who served us the most was absolutely lovely and we can’t thank her enough for making us feel so welcome and looking after us. Thank you!!

This is now called Boba Geeks Cafe. We went in expecting the usually greasy cafe food with frozen chips . We were pleasantly surprised. Home made chips with sausage, egg and beans all cooked to perfection. The chef uses all fresh ingredients in all his food and does a traditional roast on a Sunday. We paid £21 for 3 meals and 3 drinks which I thought was a real bargain.

I visit here quite regular. They do so many choices and it's so tasty. Made to tour choice and they are a very reasonable price. Would never go to another sandwich bar. My personal favourite is Chinese chicken.
