My wife and I love our Italian food so we decide to try Lizzo’s Cucina after a recommendation by a friend. As the weather was sunny we opted to sit in the rear garden. We did like the atmosphere; it felt like we were on holiday in Italy! I was offered some homemade bread and truffle butter, which was really nice. The bread was delicious and the truffle butter complimented it nicely. My wife chose the mozzarella starter, which she really enjoyed, while I opted for the parma ham with melon. The ham was incredibly tasty. I really enjoyed it. For our main courses, my wife had the pasta, which she really enjoyed. I opted for the flambéed chicken with a side salad. I particularly liked how the waiter flambés the chicken on the plate in front of you! The chicken and salad was delicious To finish off our meal, my wife had the sorbet, which she found refreshing. I enjoyed the chocolate cake with ice cream, which was really tasty; a perfect ending to a fantastic meal. The service was impeccable, with attentive and friendly staff who made sure we had everything we needed. Lizzo’s Cucina is a true gem in Oakwood. Thank you Franca for making our dinner special!

A lovely little surprise of a restaurant! It is small and quaint from the front but go through to the back there is a very lovely garden terrace. The service was lovely even though being short handed last night. It was well measured between courses. The menu is Italian with some great unusual combinations of pasta dishes. Everything we had was delicious and sadly I had no space for dessert so will be going back soon so I can have some of that too. Also I recommend the Gavi they have a on the wine list- sooo good.

A real Italian restaurant in Oakwood, North London, food is delicious, the staff and the owners are unique lovely people, a real slow food, slow life good quality restaurant, I have bene going there, with friends, family or business always had a wonderful experience

I was recommended this place by a friend, after lamenting the ridiculous prices & difficulty in getting a reservations at renowned Italian restaurants like the River Cafe. Well I am happy to say this restaurant does not disappoint, yes, it is not in central London, or you may not get to sit next to a well known actor or celebrity, BUT I go to restaurants for the food, the wine and the ambiance, and this Italian (Sicilian chef) has it all. The food is divine, from the home made silky pastas, the fantastic seafood creations to the delicious and sinful desserts, and amazing and comprehensive wine list, this gives any London based Italian a run for its money. Special mention to Arian, at the front of house, a warm welcome, and a friendly smile is significantly better than some of the snooty service one receives elsewhere.

Substantially exceeded our expectations. The manager described that they receive fresh deliveries direct from Italy. That was obvious from the food which was extremely good. Everyone's plate left our table completely empty. The Chef came to see us and the other customers our tables. Very polite, friendly and attentive service.

When the marvellous M organises a meal out, you know it is going to be good. The aubergine parmigiana was so tasty and melted in the mouth; the Tagliatelle Bolognese contained a generous portion of meat, as well as a hugest portion of the best pasta that I have tasted for many years. Everything is freshly cooked to order and the chef informed me that the pasta is freshly made to his own recipe. The decor is delightful and the staff are truly a pleasure to be with. I will return again very soon and encourage everyone else to do the same.

We recently had a party for 20 at Lizzies Cucina. The menu planning was made easy by Carmelo’s calm professionalism and excellent advice. The evening was superb. Food outstanding. Service equally so. How lucky are we to have a restaurant of this calibre in the suburbs! Thank you to everyone.

I wish i had discovered this restaurant sooner! With my parents living in the Cockfosters area we often eat out. And i can truly say that Lizzies is a cut above the rest. A magnificant and diverse menu, a superbly sourced wine list and a relaxed yet professional service. We visited on Tuesday for my Mum's 85th birthday and the whole experience was a delight. This is truly an authentic Italian restaurant. I live in France near the Italian border and happened to find the restaurant on a recent trip to London. And what a great find. The welcome was warm, the restaurant was spotless, the service was terrific and the food . . . well, what can I say? It was absolutely top class. My three companions and I will be sure to return on our next trip to London. Thank you to the chef for enlightening us on the correct ingredients of authentic Sicilian minestrone.

The most amazing Mother’s Day meal at Lizzie’s Cucina today. Family of 4 adults and 2 kids (including two very fussy Italians! 🤌 😁) The food was so good, octopus was the best we’ve had. Absolutely loved eating at this restaurant! The food was delicious and the staff were all very professional and very friendly. The Chef took the time to speak to all his customers which we thought was a lovely thing to do! The Tuscan pappardelle with wild boar was one of the best pasta dishes we’ve ever had!

Top quality Italian food, with fabulous service. The chef and staff really care about their food and service. There really is no need to go into the West End in search of authentic Italian cuisine when you have Lizzie’s Cucina. Decent local parking, only round the corner from Oakwood tube station. We will definitely be going again.

Fantastic Italian meal to celebrate Valentines 1 day late! Warm welcome with table set up for our occasion: hearts scattered on our table and red rose waiting! The food and service was impeccable and I would highly recommend this little restaurant. A real gem.

Took my wife and daughter for a lunch time Valentine's day treat. Really great flavoursome food, well worth the price. All was fresh and delicious. Extensive wine list, with a good few available by the glass, had a nice unfiltered Italian beer that I'd not seen before. I had the frito misto starter - lovely and fresh, and a Black Tagliolini with Crab Meatin a Shellfish Sauce,Cherry Tomatoes &Chilli for my main, again really well cooked and expertly flavoured. There were a few vegetarian starters and mains, my partner had a really good vegetarian minestrone soup and her pasta dish, Rigatoni Norma with Aubergines and Salted Ricotta Cheese, was also excellent. My daughter shared my starter and had Spaghetti with Anchovies, Butter Sauce, Lemon Crumble & Italian Caviar for her main which she hoovered up like there was no tomorrow! Easily the nicest food in Southgate/Oakwood, will be coming back; just sad we took so long to try this place out!

They could not have been more accommodating and attentive throughout our meal. This charming little restaurant dished up a mouthwatering meal and made us feel like special guests in the process! Disappointed by food which lacked flavour and distinction, very mediocre fare. Certain dishes were far from generous. Also tables were far too close together.

This is a gem of an Italian - not your traditional pizza and pasta, but true top class Italian food, with an emphasis on seafood. The menu is not extensive so the chef can produce mouth watering delights. All in our mixed aged party of 10 were worried when we walked in - it was quiet and the menu not usual Italy. But they were won over by the food and wine (great Montepulciano). A small point for us was the insistence on a pre dinner drink when we hadn't even seen the menu.

Fabulous restaurant in Oakwood. A real gem in our suburb. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The chef works in an open kitchen and discusses the meal you have ordered and will make changes to suit your taste. Will definitely return.

This is a gem hidden in North London,very deceiving from the outside but large and cozy once you are inside....none of the modern glass and wood of the shelf finish but traditional homely decor....the food is prepared with care and love and each item ordered tasted perfect....the wine recommended complemented the food perfectly and and each course came with an explanation of the ingredients in each dish...the Chef Carmelo is always there to have a conversation and this shows how much personal care is taken in selecting the ingredients and preparing the meals...
