A very unusual pub in that it is a former police station. There are smaller rooms available, they used to be the cells. Beer is well kept

Lovely historic building, was a prison, now a pub. Excellent food and drink. Service excellent too, despite being busy the lady came to table to take orders and bring drinks.

After day at races popped in for a few. Good selection of real ales , great atmosphere sat in a cell.

It was just next door so it would have been rude not to drop in. Very busy. Lucky to find seats. Nice pint of XPA. Felt like most people were regulars, but still a good atmosphere.

Some friends who are local to the area introduced us to the Bridewell on a recent trip to Liverpool - what a fantastic place this is!! There’s a lovely sheltered (and sometimes sunny) courtyard, and lots of query nooks and crannies to explore in what used to be a police station. We loved how the old custody cells have been made into individual rooms with brick vaulted ceilings and tiny windows high on the walls. There’s even an iron ring set in the wall for misbehaving prisoners. We were here for drinks, but takeaway food can be ordered from the Italian restaurant just over the road. A great venue with happy and obliging staff - we loved it here!

Lovely pub with top beer and great atmosphere

Popped in for a midday pint, it was clean, comfortable, space to sit, soft chatty sounds,no shouting to be heard, no crying kids or kids out of control, great prices.

Great pub in a beautiful historic old police station, with one of the best pint of Guinness I’ve had in Liverpool. The bar staff and management are friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is lively and live sport is shown throughout. My favourite pub in the Liverpool centre to meet up with friends.

Best bar in town, hands down. The beauty of this place is the staff, they remember you and your fave drink order and will bring it to yiur table. I liken this gaff to an American bar l, nothing is to much trouble.

One of the coolest pubs I've been to. Great beer selection, solid staff, and amazing atmosphere. Visited twice on my trip to Liverpool, once for just a drink and again to watch a football match. Met some extremely friendly and interesting locals. Sitting in an actual historic jail cell, having a pint, watching football, talking all things with some locals was a highlight of our trip.

Excellent choice of real ales. Good prices. Something of a rarity these days in that bar staff come around taking orders and bringing the drinks to you. Enjoy your drinks sitting in a cell

Wonderful setting, the original police station cells converted into drinking and eating booths. Great atmosphere and chats with bar staff. Return visit very soon. Friend and I had a few drinks so cannot comment on the food.

My daughter had her 40th here, fantastic place for a private do, with private bar.

An unusual setting, an old prison, but it's well worth going....really good and it offers table service.

Used the room upstairs for a 40th birthday celebration. Big enough for 50/60 guests. Only gave 4 stars because i wasnt a fan of the seating arrangement. Not sure if i m being a tad picky there though? The staff were superb. Couldnt do enough for us. 👌

Staff are incredibly friendly. Very easy to feel right at home. Plus an excellent Guinness to be had here. Will be back anytime I’m in Liverpool.

Unique pub, great Scouse atmosphere and unreal levels of customer service.

So much history in this pub. It's an old jail and the cells have been made into cubicles to drink and chat. The beer choice is excellent, craft keg and cask. The staff are great too.

Loved this place. Random find after attending a conference at the ACC. An old police station where you can sit in the converted cells. Staff were great.

We have loved the Bridewell for many years as we love the atmosphere, beers and service, everyone is so friendly and the vibe of the Bridewell is unmatched. We love it so much here we booked the function room for our February wedding and honestly can’t say enough about how amazing the night was, Luke helped us organise everything including how the room was set up and gave us reccomendations for the food which was a lovely buffet and a singer Ali Horn who was also exceptional and was so friendly throughout, everyone keeps commenting on how much fun they had and how much they enjoyed the beers and the atmosphere and we just can’t recommend it enough!

Pub located 2 steps from the center of Liverpool, years ago it was an old prison now transformed into a beautiful pub! Large selection of beers on tap and average prices. Really recommended

This is really a good pub. Used to be the old Bridewell jail. Individual cells for drinking in and one of the best selections of real ales in the city. Service is superb, a waiter comes around asking if you need more beer. It saves you going to the bar.

What a quirky pub. We stopped in here for a drink before dinner and ended up coming back afterwards. Very friendly and attentive bar staff. They know their gins - each was garnished well. I love the layout and the history of the place being an old 'drunk tank'. We managed to get a table in one of the cells, a really cool experience. Highly recommend a visit! Lovely beer garden too!

Our favourite pub in Liverpool, we are always treated exceptionally by the staff, in particular Dominic. Traditional British ale and imported beers of a supreme quality for a fantastic price. Gins and vermouths are also great from different varieties.

Very nice conversion from one of Liverpool's old police stations. The cells are snugs and toilets. Looks fab. Great cask ales and great banter with all clientele. Has a spacious outdoor area and food looks good although didn't eat this time.

Bold statement but this is the best pub in Liverpool. The staff are absolutely fantastic, they have a brilliant selection of cask & craft ales, and it's a historic building.

Possibly my favourite pub in Liverpool. It has such a unique history. Great choice of beers and ciders, and the staff are super friendly and attentive. Good outside space for when it's warm, but even better to get a table in one of the old cells.

Bartenders and security were quite nasty other than that drinks were lovely and atmosphere was very lively!

Brilliant use of this old building, great bar staff, but only a couple of real ales available at the time we were there. Well worth a visit.

We visit once maybe twice a year it is a fantastic little find. The staff are so friendly and welcoming which then reflects on the clientele. Good range of Beers the place has loads of character and lots of history including the old cells with cell doors. There is also a lovely little Itanial restaurant just over the courtyard if you get peckish. Dominic and Fiona are excellent hosts. Thanks for a great time see you again soon.

Just love this pub, good vibe, interesting history (used to be a jail house, you can sit in former cells), and customer service/personal attention is 10/10.

Atmospheric and unusual pub, set in an old gaol and you can sit in the cells! Nice range of beers. Got a cheery welcome and a handshake from the barman too which was nice. Will definitely go again.

Spent a weekend in Liverpool and called in for a round. Lovely venue, awesome history and staff were brilliant. The landlord chucked me and the wife a free shot and spent ages talking about the history of the building. Why can;t all pubs be this friendly and welcoming.
