Food was fantastic, family had everything on the menu and there wasnt anything left after. Heard this place is closing down due to renewal of the lease and we were genuinely upset.... best of luck to the future staff and owner.

Yet another great Edinburgh restaurant. From the moment we arrived in the quirky airy restaurant I had high hopes, further encouraged by a short (not too short) but highly varied and inventive menu - who knew that squid went so well with Brussel sprouts? Food was excellent throughout (all 4 of us agreed) and the bill was far from high. The place was justifiably busy but not crowded and there was no pressure to vacate the table. Great place

Popped in for brunch as this place was recommended, it didn’t disappoint. Service was great, we didn’t feel rushed and the food and coffee was really good. Will definitely come back when I’m next in town.

Myself and my 4 friends were looking for a place to go for drinks and some food. We passed by and popped in for some drinks This was our first time but we will be back. We stayed longer than we thought we would as the atmosphere, food and drinks were excellent. The service was fantastic! Chris's cocktails were fab and we highly recommend.

We ate here after attending an Edinburgh Fringe event. When we arrived the placed was packed with happy people enjoying food and drinks. The menu is very short but range is adequate for a small venue. We ordered a chicken burger and a hallucination burger with fries. Service was friendly and efficient. Food arrived quickly and was piping hot. The food was good and very reasonably priced. This is not a gastronomic pub but it fully delivered on our expectations.

Really nice place to sit, nice interior and friendly. Food was real let down, very expensive for tiny portion, quality not great. Tiny portion of fries, that cost extra on top of a pretty bad and overcooked fish finger sandwich. Would stick to just drinks if we went back.

Not a nice place. Go there if you want to have a drink and then continue somewhere else but anything more is ill-advised. The prices for food do not reflect the quality or portion sizes. £14 for a steak sandwich is a lot when there's a pale bun with a couple of slices of steak and very little else. Eat three for paltry £42 if you wish your hunger to be satisfied. It doesn't help that the place is totally covered with hard surfaces. It takes only three tables to have people to make this place sound noisy and crowded because of horrible acoustics. Disappointing.

I have eaten or had drinks here several times. It’s not fine dining but it has always been good for some food over drinks and I have recommended it to others several times. This time sadly the food was truly awful. Firstly the menu was very brief, far shorter than I have seen previously here, so short it was unacceptable. Haggis bonbons were cooked to a crisp and rocketed off the plate when pressed with a fork, same goes for the arranchini, likewise the burger was toast and left me unsure as to whether it was chicken or beef. We didn’t have any more. I should have complained but the staff were very pleasant and it wasn’t their fault, although I was thinking that perhaps they were doing the microwaving. And anyway, my friend and I were just there to have a few lagers and a catch up, so what could go wrong with that? The house lagers were pretty awful as well I’m afraid. I am a local, living very close to this bar and was delighted by my first few visits. This was really not good, very disappointing. What has happened guys? Is the plan to be just a bar and provide nothing but crisps? If so, you’ll also need better beers. No more recommendations from me I’m afraid.

Dishes a bit lacking for the price (served a £20 steak without any accompanying salad or sauce?), service was friendly and helpful but didn't check in despite it being a quiet early evening. Cocktails were delicious, definitely the highlight of the evening (on the sweet side though, so perhaps give a miss if that's not your preference).

We had delicious dishes on a Wednesday evening and we were lucky to be there when there was live music. Staff are super kind, it's a little cosy place, food is excellent and the atmosphere is great! Music volume was high enough for everyone to enjoy but low enough to be able to chat.

Lovely lovely place for a drink, really relaxed atmosphere and personable staff. We were lucky enough to get some free pints which we really appreciated, very generous. Have previously been for a roast and it was delicious. Thanks for a lovely afternoon LWP!

Such a great.evening ..great vibe with guitarist Karel Kalaf. Super friendly and efficient staff. A limited menu but everything was delicious. If we lived here it would be our local. Great posters ask about the connection to Train Spotting and In Bruges.

We had this bar just a short walk from our accommodation and it surprised us with its cozy and nice atmosphere. We were very impressed with the drinks we had, not one of them was bad. The bartender has a knack for inventing drinks. We recommend it! 😇🌟🙌🏻

Called in for brunch after a long train journey. Lovely friendly welcome. Simple menu but good selection of dishes. Nice level of attention shown, given space to select and then eat our meals.

One of the best meals we’ve ever had! Beautiful fresh fish and chips, perfectly cooked and very tasty. We had three small dishes: haggis, arancini, and the mackerel pate, which were delicious too. For dessert we had the delectable chocolate cake with one of their many scotch options. The very friendly staff even provided our dog with an icy bowl of water and were very patient when she spilt some. Highly recommended and we hope to return!

Popped in for lunch after being recommended by our Air BnB host. We were almost the only ones in - looks like it is more of an evening kind of place. Our waitress was really attentive and friendly but the food was a let down - we went for the 3 small plates a burger and fries. It was a good portion size but all pretty cold (other than the chicken wings) Fried halloumi was rubbery and fairly tasteless. We might have been unlucky but won’t be back.

So happy that Little White Pig has started a new brunch service from 10am onwards. Honestly we love brunch and have visited loads of other brunch establishments around Edinburgh but we were absolutely blown away by the eggs Benedict and freshly made pancakes with cream and raspberries. Wonderful staff, eclectic venue and omg the brunch was first class and didn’t burn a hole in our pockets 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

We had the most amazing 21st birthday celebrations for my daughter at Noir. Louise and Jake looked after all the different aspects of our party, made it totally stress free for us and made sure the night ran smoothly. Thank you to everyone at Noir and Louise in particular.

Really lovely vibe and place. Student deals on a monday (though house lager 9/10) but the staff are so unbelievably nice.

Great atmosphere with great food. Main room is below street level, with a further downstairs 'event' room (student night) on my visit. Numerous stairs (from the street and down to the toilets) if your mindful of such things. Main room has a great modern vibe and decor to it.

Food very poor quality. Totally overpriced. Food is definitely not a focus here. Will not be back and certainly won't recommend. Far nicer places and better value to be had in Edinburgh.

Really nice place. Some cocktails tasted more of sugar (like neat diluting juice) than alcohol but the service was really friendly and to the table which was cool. It's a really nice atmosphere and I would definitely come back for a glass of wine or two. It's dog friendly which was an added bonus!

Staff were really helpful and attentive. Food was undeniably tasty. The place is lovely and cosie. Staff describe the portions as 'modest' we'd say small. The price of the meals should be reduced or the portion size increased. Butternut squash was delicious, 'served with puff rice' mmm a sprinkling of rice would be a better description. What I tasted was lovely, but I could probably have counted the grains, and would appreciated at least a scoop of rice. Yes go, it's lovely, but make sure you have something to eat before so you're not too hungry after the meal.

Ab/Fab local pub with a cool crowd. The food is excellent and the service is very friendly and relaxed. Great place for a pint and some nibbles on a Friday after work!

We absolutely love this restaurant and pub. Eclectic mix of people, brilliant warm atmosphere, excellent service from the brilliant staff. We had our New Year's Eve celebration meal here and it was some of the best food we have had in Edinburgh and we have been to a lot of restaurants! Very highly recommended for a fun evening with top of the range service, food and drink.

Visited the little white pig on a Thursday evening. I don't normally give reviews but we had such a great evening. The food was excellent the staff were so helpful and great personalities. We found out later that they were so hard pushed for staff, but we didn't see that as they must have been working so hard to maintain excellent standards. Looking forward to my next visit.

Had a super chicken starter. Lovely venison and fine Italian red. Good price and fab staff. Would go again

We recently visited the Little White Pig for Sunday lunch lured in by the good reviews. We felt the first frisson of fear when we were greeted by an expression of surprise that we had seen the need to book. The bleak range of mainstream industrial beers did nothing to improve that mood. But our spirits lifted when the waiter apologised for the fact our meal would be a little late as the first attempt at my wife's request for the roast butternut squash was 'not up to standard'. Curious as to what that standard was. Easier to clear the bar when it's lying on the floor? The eventually-delivered meal consisted of two slabs of barely warm squash with zero seasoning, accompanied by claggy, reheated couscous. One suspects the harissa paste was spooned out of a jar. Pitiful. I had lower standards. I expected a school dinner level Sunday roast and was not too disappointed. But defrosting the Yorkshire pudding would have been a nice touch.

Popped by with the family for some lunch in the midst of Christmas shopping and couldn’t be more glad we did! The staff were wonderful, the food was delicious and their Special own cocktails were so delicious. Could not recommend the place more. Chris was especially wonderful suggesting drinks and looking after us. Can’t wait to come back.

Been here a few times now, and have never been disappointed. Really lively atmosphere while also being chilled out at the same time. Friendly staff that always make you feel welcome, top-notch cocktails, and proper hearty food- would recommend the buttermilk fried chicken.

TBH , don’t deserve the 1 rating. Table for 2 right beside the dummy waiter with 3 members of staff bickering away. They were confused with who ordered what ! As many people in the restaurant, ordered the Sunday roast which was sent back twice as served cold. As was the extremely cold side of cauliflower cheese which looked awful. Also returned the cold risotto twice and we ended up not eating any of these dishes. The haggis bon bons were nice although difficult to manoeuvre with a fork and knife in the bowl they were served in ... We also couldn’t get 2 decaf coffees as they only had enough coffee for one. No apology for the food and on reflection regretted leaving the £10 for the food we had. Went to The Magnum across the road where the small plate selection was superb and delicious.

Reservation at 7:15pm. Left at 9:20pm, having had no food arrive other than bread. No communication, no free drinks to make up for it, no respect for customers whatsoever. Appalling.

Honestly could not recommend this little restaurant enough. The food was fantastic and I believe I had a manager behind the bar called Chloe and another on the floor named named Chris. Both were so welcoming and helpful. Would highly recommend and come back again!
