Little Talk Cafe in Southend-on-Sea

Lovely cafe. Always a pleasure to eat here. The owners are very friendly and we are warmly greeted each time we visit with a nice chat too. The food is delicious and freshly prepared. Can honestly say we have enjoyed every meal we have had here. This is our number one cafe to have lunch. The little talk burger is thoroughly enjoyed by my husband as is the eggs royal. On the whole we feel it’s the best cafe in Leigh-on-sea and definitely worth a visit.

Absolutely splendid as usual. Ford, drinks, decor, ambience and staff. We’ll keep coming!!! See you again very soon.😍

I Came for lunch with my friend and enjoyed nicely presented , tasty food in a clean and pleasant cafe. The service was wonderful and when closing time came, we were not rushed at all to leave. Will definitely return.

Love this little cafe especially for breakfast, they serve the best vegetarian sausages! The staff are always friendly, everything is well organised and the prices are great.The only negative I have is that half of the cafe always seems to have reserved signs on the tables, I don’t really understand why as it’s such a small place it seems ridiculous to turn customers away. It’s happened to me twice now so I’m not sure I will go back, it’s such a shame.

Visited for the first time this evening…Loverly environment with excellent staff - a very professional service.A nice menu selection, but more importantly the presentation and quality was outstanding.I had to double check the bill - much lower than expected. The cost is incredible value for money.Nothing else to say, except that it is a place to which we will return.

A called in for a Full Breakfast today. The food service and ambience were all excellent and I felt welcomed by those serving me. The café was really clean and well decorated and the breakfast was served really quickly. It was probably the best cooked breakfast I had in a long while. The bacon had no fat on it at all and the sausages were much more superior than most other Cafes I have visited. I was informed that these were fresh butchers' sausages. I will definitely visit again!

What a beautiful little cafe. I had been in this unit before when it was owned by someone else and it was dead and very minimal decor. Now its cosy, nicely spaced out cleaned regularly and to top it all off GREAT food and worth every penny. Such a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be returning.

Excellent food and value for money, this place is my favourite cafe in Leigh for sure. You see they take pride in what they do too quality ingredients and cooked perfectly. Very friendly staff always welcoming. Really love this place highly recommended for eat in or takeaway.

We’d heard about this place from a couple of people so my wife and I decided to give it a try yesterday lunchtime. We’d heard the owner and his wife were lovely friendly people and they were. We’d heard the food was excellent and it was.It was a freezing cold day so we were both in need of comfort food and chose all day breakfast variations that were as good if not better than anywhere else we’ve been to locally. Less usually the food was served piping hot and very quickly.Unlike so many other places the tables are spread a very nice comfortable distance apart without trying to cram an extra few people in and also unlike many other places there were no kitchen smells so we didn’t come out stinking of cooking !All in all this might be our new favourite small unpretentious place to eat locally. It was almost half the price of some of the trendy places along Leigh Broadway nearby but honestly we enjoyed it just as much if not more !The owners deserve to succeed. They were both smiling and friendly and made us feel welcome from start to finish, the decor is just fine and the place was spotlessly clean. We will definitely return.

We come here weekly and are never disappointed.the standard of the food is excellent but it is really also the superb hospitality of the owner and his family makes it a gem.lovely relaxing environment and weekend wouldn't be complete without a visit!It is getting ever popular for a reason!

We had the best breakfast we’ve had in ages here.The staff are so friendly and the service is excellent.I had the talk breakfast which is sour dough toast , avocado,bacon and poached eggs. A garnish of chilli and mixed seeds was a really tasty touch.We will definitely be back and I’m just sorry it took so long to try it.

We visited for breakfast following a recommendation from a friend.We had 2 very reasonably priced breakfast that were hot, fresh and extremely tasty.Service was great and will be returning to sample more of the menu.It was worth the visit and nice for a change and didn’t have to pay the Broadway tax!

We have always walked past this cafe on the way to the supermarket and it has always been full. After reading the excellent reviews, we decided to head down with our puppy for an alfresco lunch. Delicious food, reasonably priced and very good service.

Found this Gem of a place when driving around.Didn't really want to leave a review because I want this place to myself.Tell other people, then you can't get booked yourself.However, this does deserve a review !We took our friends back there this weekend (25/6/21) and they couldn't believe what a lovely place this was. Small and intimate, but a lovely atmosphere,Lovely staff, helpful and pleasant and the Tapas was just great tasting, Moorish food. We came out there stuffed !!!Thank you Little Talk Café for making our friend's evening special too.Bringing more friends soon, and you definitely have new fans of yours now.They're already planning to bring their family to share their experience.Tony B

This place is a little gem in leigh. The inside is so well presented and the food is so well priced and such good value for money. We had two coffees, which were so delicious and hot! Great start.our breakfasts arrived and were so well presented. The vibe in the restaurant was laid back and relaxed- no pretensions, just quality. I can’t wait to go back. X

We visited the Little Talk Cafe this evening for our first taste of their tapas menu. In short, it was outstanding. The owner is a delight: friendly, welcoming, attentive (but not overly so) and polite. The food was excellent. We had a lovely charcuterie board to begin with which had a good selection of meats. The tapas options were varied and each choice we made did not disappoint and desert was simple but effective. Add in a couple of drinks each and we were astonished to see the final bill which was significantly less that we would have happily paid for everything. It was our first visit but we definitely will be back (in fact we are already planning on bringing our friends back in a couple of weeks!).

Visited on Friday @ 12.30. What a gem of a find. Top marks . Could not praise this place enough. I live in Wakering so it is not really local to me . However the journey was well worth it and I cannot wait to revisit . A warm welcome, tasty fresh made food and very very reasonably priced . A good choice of menu for all as well. Hand on heart please give the place a try you will not be disappointed.

Came here for dinner on a Friday evening and was really impressed with the cute little outdoor area - amazing cocktails (I had a mojito and espresso martini) and wonderful service. We had the tapas which were really tasty and reasonably priced, would definitely come back!

Perfect spot for weekend brunch. A lovely welcome, superb service and delicious food. This is our fourth visit and it’s been wonderful every time. Pancakes melt in your mouth, breakfast menu is extensive and the food feels clean and well made. Also offers an afternoon/evening tapas menu so we will be back for that. Such good value for money in an area where that’s not always the case

We went for tapas on the recommendation of friends and were not disappointed. A lovely owner who was friendly and helpful without being intrusive. The cafe was incredibly clean and welcoming . Most importantly the food was wonderful and very good value . We would thoroughly recommend and look forward to returning soon.

We have been several times for breakfast/ brunch to this sweet little cafe & every time we get great service & great food. It’s so reasonably priced (especially for Leigh) and Celso the owner is lovely, giving our little boy the ‘baby chino’s’ he so loves! It’s child friendly which is great for us. Would highly recommend & we can’t wait to be back to try little talk tapas!

Love this place! Celco is just amazingly welcoming and a genuinely lovely guy who is so nice without being intrusive... went for breakfast which was perfect (I am generally very fussy about crispy bacon, crispy toast, items not touching on my plate!) and there wasn’t a single thing I could remotely find fault with! Also went for amazing tapas which were equally amazing, tasty, great quality and so cheap, especially as it’s BYO wine! Love it and cannot wait to go back again! Thank you Celco

What an absolutely wonderful place. Came here for lunch and had the tapas. Wow. 4 dishes for £15 and it was perfect. The food was so tasty and fresh.This place is owned by a lovely Portuguese guy who literally couldn't do more for us. You can tell he is really proud of his business and it shows in the food and service I HIGHLY recommend this place!

Great little cafe that served the most delicious tapas...you should definitely try the chilli prawns ,beef cubes and fried chorizo...not to mention the cheese board. Great wines from a small but more than adequate list.Our waiter could not have been more accommodating and friendly.

My partner and I came on a Sunday morning for a breakfast. The guy who served us (sorry, didn't take a name) was fantastic and welcoming!We ordered the pancakes with bacon (delicious and a very good portion) and the English Breakfast.The drinks were lovely too (we had Mocha's). The atmosphere and prices of the cafe were great - we would definitely come back again!

This was my fourth visit to this very decent little cafe and once again, I was delighted with a warm greeting from the owner/chef and his daughter.The scrambled eggs on toast were generous and well prepared and the cappuccinos well made.Well done you two on producing a lovely little family cafe!

It was the first time I have been to this cafe and although I had not been before I got the impression that it may be under new ownership. Their are no menus and everything is written on signs on the wall which I don't personally like. Their were a number of breakfast choices, I had to get up to read them, in smaller print in the corner of the poster it informs you that all breakfasts include toast and tea or coffee but once again it would be easy to miss. Unfortunately I had rather a wait for the food which given how quiet it was I was surprised about. Overall the food was nice quality although I didn't like the thinly sliced streaky bacon which had been way over cooked, their is also no choice of bread other than white. When I came to pay, a reasonable £6.20, I was informed that they don't currently take cards even though their is a Visa/MasterCard sign in the window. A small notice was up behind the till which no one would see till paying and it wasn't mentioned by the waitress before ordering. I would have rated as very good other than for these things I have pointed out.

I went in with my toddler for a coffee and cake and the service was so friendly and welcoming. The lady serving us was playing with my son and kindly gave him a toy car to play with, not all cafes I feel are child friendly but I would definitely recommend this one and I will be back - the coffee and cake was great too!

Nice little place, clean cosy and fresh. Good menu not bad prices had options for all tastes. No granary bread bit disappointing but service was amazing and the breakfasts we had were very good.

We went for breakfast first visit very lovely cafe beautifully decorated and lovely staff!!Unfortunately the breakfast was not good, sausages hard only white bread available and generally very basic. Perhaps they need to visit others cafes in the area to see how it's done .

I cannot express the joy of the level of service and quality here! From the moment you enter to the moment you leave the service and experience is perfect! I highly recommend the Burger from the new menu advertised! Will definately be coming back and bringing my friends!

We stopped here recently for a quick bite to eat and instead got a warm friendly welcome and fantastic food! The staff are all very accommodating and just all round genuine people. The food is to die for. What a great place to eat, chat and enjoy your time. Highly recommend This lovely little eatery.

Me and my partner visited this place last week before work for a quick breakfast and need to say that was amazing. We ordered two breakfast: eggs benedict which was so tasty and traditional breakfast-so huge and delicious.

Many caffe have a little menu and Highchair but this convo place has got them and food is real , not frozen tasteless food you get from big chains . Recommended

It isn't often that on can eulogise about a cafe, but this is an exception. The place is calm and well decorated and immaculate, with friendly staff. It has only just been reopened and the owners have taken care to make it inviting, but what makes this an exception is the food. It is all pretty traditional Cafe fare, but with locally sourced produce and it seems, a talented chef, it is fresh and carefully prepared, which makes it even more tasty. Not all cafes include avocado on the menu but here it is used very well.

I had sea food pasta and this was yumi . Good value for money I will surely become regular as it's in my way to work I would recommend it
