Little Sicily, Durham, UK in County Durham

This was the second time that we have visited this fantastic restaurant in a large family group. The first time 9 of us attended for our grandson's 21st birthday and it was so good that we booked again for our annual Christmas get together. This time there were 15 of us. Some chose from the Christmas Fayre menu and the selection was amazing. Others selected from the main menu which was a plus for us as other venues that we have been to for our Christmas 'party' only offered choices from their Christmas Fayre. I have to say that no one was disappointed with their meals. Perfectly cooked and presented and great portions. However, I must commend the service. Nothing was a problem and we were not rushed at all. Some restaurants that we have been to hardly let you get your starter down and they serve you your main course. Not here. A lovely civilised break in between so we could all enjoy being together. That said, the wait wasn't overly long that we were all awaiting our next courses. We had a great night, good food, fantastic service and certainly not over priced. We will all certainly book again, either individually or for our next family celebration. So, if you are looking for a nice meal, either just couples or for a bigger celebration, this is the place for you. Thank you Little Sicily and we look forward to visiting again.

Lovely food and staff! I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken with sides of veg and onion rings. Hubby loved his freshly made BBQ pizza. The only comment I would make is that I would prefer not to be referred to as either darling or sweetheart, seems a bit dated to me.

Visité el martes 5 de noviembre y todo estaba bien - bueno, servicio rápido y buena comida. El jueves 7 de noviembre fue una historia diferente. El servicio era slapdash - algunos artículos pedidos nunca llegaron, nadie volvió para comprobar cómo estaban las cosas, y la comida claramente había estado sentado un tiempo antes de ser servido. Toda la experiencia se hizo más desagradable por dos niños pequeños, que parecían pertenecer al personal, constantemente corriendo y gritando en todo el restaurante. Una comida muy desagradable.

Fuimos en octubre (miércoles por la noche) fue impresionante. Fui hoy (jueves por la noche) no muy bien. Parecía poco personal que corría por ahí, mesas sin limpiar. Bases de pizza no tan fresco, la última vez que pudimos comer la corteza / borde, esta vez no en absoluto. Hice un poco de lío con el pedido, esperaba que como solo tenían dos personas trabajando en el piso. no creo que lo volveremos a usar, la vergüenza fue tan impresionante hace un par de semanas, ¿qué podría haber cambiado? La falta de consistencia los matará, esperamos que tomen los comentarios de una manera positiva y hagan cambios. Tal vez el chef estaba fuera hoy, aunque parecía la misma gente y era el mismo personal en el taller. Pagó 90 libras por 2 niños y 2 adultos, muy caro, aunque hace dos semanas no habría hecho ninguna queja siempre feliz de pagar por la calidad.

Excelente atención al cliente y excelente comida. Tuvimos una deliciosa comida familiar mientras visitaba a nuestra hija en la Universidad. El personal no podría haber sido más amable y servicial con las alergias alimentarias. La comida estaba fresca, directamente de la sartén en el plato. ¡El postre también era precioso! Gracias por una maravillosa cena italiana auténtica. Sin duda volveremos a comer aquí de nuevo cuando volvamos. 5 / 5 .

My husband and I were staying at the travelodge, station road, Durham and decided we would walk into Durham for something to eat. We spotted the Little Sicily Italian restaurant just in front of the hotel and decided to grab a pizza. I can recommend the food, the pizza was lovely and staff very pleasant. If you're staying at the travelodge go no further, try the Little Sicily Italian restaurant.

Got here after a day watching Eng v Aus cricket and we were all hungry and frozen. We arrived just after serving hours but the waiter took pity on us and asked the kitchen to serve us some soup to warm us up - especially our 11yr old son! Soup was delicious, only eclipsed by the kindness of the staff. Highly recommended, thank you for looking after us 😊

9 family and friends visited this restaurant tonight to celebrate our grandson's 21st birthday. What a lovely night. Amazing selection both from the menu and from the specials board. We all chose differently and no-one was disappointed. All superbly cooked and presented. Great portions. (doggy bags provided for those who couldn't eat all that was served!) The place has a lovely ambiance, plenty of space and comfortable. However, the stars of the evening were the staff. Courteous, patient and polite. We had a lovely evening and couldn't recommend this place enough. We will most certainly be back.

We booked dinner at Little Sicily as we were staying at the adjacent Travelodge. The experience was so good we immediately rebooked for the return leg of our trip. Little Sicily offers a warm welcome, efficient, attentive yet non-intrusive service and truly delicious food at sensible prices. It is a family business whose members clearly take pride in their work whether front of house or in the semi-open kitchen. I hope to be there again before too long.

WOW! It takes a lot to make me food happy and boy am I food happy!! I had the Chicken Trio Cheese with Basil & Cherry Tomato Sauce, it was delightful with chunky chips that my mom would have been proud of. Very friendly restaurant with a lovely vibe and atmosphere. Great value for money

Very pleasantly surprised with the quality and service considering the price charged for our meals. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone that likes good Italian food.

Super convenient if you're staying at the Travelodge, but a place to eat anyway. Excellent food, great house wines. I don't agree with a previous comment about the lasagne - mine was just fine (each to his/her own...)

After a busy day in Durham we chose to eat here as it is close to the Travel lodge . What a good choice . A warm welcome , attentive staff and lovely food . The pasta dish , risotto and white wine were great and the tiramisu excellent . We would definitely recommend and would happily return

Durham is spoilt for great food choices, but this place was our absolute favourite and well worth the short walk out of the centre. The staff are all friendly and attentive, food was excellent quality and value, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Ate here on a one night stay at the Travelodge next door. Can’t fault it - the staff were very friendly and attentive, and the food was excellent. If ever I’m in Durham again, I’ll definitely eat here. Highly recommended!

I came here expecting to dine at sambucca but alas this is now Little Sicily. Here are my pros and cons: Pros: The service is second to none. The limited staffing level did not impact on the service. I'm fact I would go as far as saying they were very attentive and provided excellent service. The food was cheap(ISH) and cheerful enough. Cons: The lasagna was slightly too cheesy. The cheese to meat ratio was slightly off. I'm not a cheese person and hope it was an off day for the chef. Otherwise the rest of the food was tasty enough.

Food was lovely, both for the adults and the kids. Always a good sign when the kids meals have the same care and quality as the adults meals and that is certainly the case here! Friendly service, we'll definitely be back when we're next in Durham

Visited on Saturday evening with 17 family members. The food was excellent and everybody was happy. We had starters and main courses a couple had dessert. The service was also excellent. The staff was very attentive. We will be definitely be going Back.
