Canot fault the food, which was excellent. The antipasti was nicely presented and the smokey meatballs were tasty, as was my wife's cannelloni. Th services was very poor, despite the restaurant not being busy. After we finished the main course we waited for nearly 20 minutes before I eventually had to find the waitress to cleasr the table and order dessert. Pity that some retaurants do not seem to understand the importance of good service, which is part of the dining experience, and that poor service can spoil an otherwise good meal.

My first time here, after a number of years. Great front of house and . The dishes were flavoursome and perfectly seasoned. An all round great delicious food experience..😍😍

We decided to try little italy as we live locally despite reading some bad reviews, all 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals the staff were very polite and attentive and the food arrived quickly and freshly cooked, all 4 of us plan to return to celebrate a bithday very soon, it just goes to show everyones experience of a place WILL be different, all I would say is the outside needs to be spruced up, thankyou all the staff /chefs for a lovely, enjoyable evening.

The service was really poor. Decor is tired and scruffy with no character. Tables and chairs are not good and there is no atmosphere. We asked what was in some of the cocktails but the waitress didn't know so we asked her to go and find out but she just came back and said they weren't available anyway. The food was reasonable but really nothing special. Won't be visiting again and would expect a lot more for the price

Don't know whether this experience was because we went on a Sunday night when the usual/trained chef wasn't there and less experienced staff were left to do the cooking - but the food terrible. My wife had the calamari starter and we wondered on first taste whether it was onion rings. Our conclusion was that it was (supposed to be) calamari but somehow it was reformed meat and completely overpowered with garlic. My scallop starter was undercooked (yes I know it should be seared and not over cooked but it was just like jelly. And there is only so much you can hide with a liberal sprinkling of rocket salad. My wife's main course of risotto was apparently ok but nothing to write home about and my chicken in cream and stilton sauce was a mess. I was expecting a chicken breast nicely cooked and then sliced with a sauce poured over - but it was more like a random pile of chicken pieces, some of which were very chewy (I guess from inconsistent cooking/microwaving) in a sea of sauce. The best thing on the plate was the chips. Surroundings aren't brilliant but the food was definitely the low point.

Have been here now 6 times in total. The first time although service was slow and had to keep going and asking for drinks as they didn’t come.. the food made up for it. Apart from the desert which was so awful for the price. But the main dish was lovely. The next 2 times were good. Avoided desert but apart from chicken being undercooked was still not to bad. The 4th time.. attitude of the young man serving stank.! It was a birthday meal for 9 people and was booked and asked for table to be dressed and promised it would be when we went in face to face to ask. We got there.. put on a 6 person table and not even a balloon.! Everyone’s meals came out at different times. The last one being 15 minutes after the first. The sauce to go with the steak came out a good 7 minutes after that too. Daughter ordered lamb and got pork. And service was bloomin awful. We left after not having a good evening out severely dissatisfied. The fifth time .. ordered a steak well done. The 3 others meals came out first and they were eating by the time mine came. Mine finally came and was still bleeding although half of it was just a slab of fat. My husbands pizza dough was so undercooked it couldn’t even be picked up. Again. The service was very poor. The young male server wouldn’t smile if u paid him and had a serious attitude problem. Son in law waited 15 minutes for a beer to be then told after asking several times for it that the barrel had gone and to order something else. Was offered a refryed steak but everyone had almost finished their food so I just sent mine back and didn’t eat. We had decided we wouldn’t return. But on a whim last night decided to given them one more try. Hubbys pizza again was like raw dough ..They had no steak so I had the pork belly.. took the whole thing home for my dog.. enough said. And this time we will NOT be returning. I only wish we hadn’t given them so many chances. Also prone to overcharging so watch your bill.

Was reluctant to even go here in the first place, took the risk, will never again. Started by being told a table would be 20 minutes, which turned into 40. Drinks took 40 minutes to arrive at the table, two drinks! wrong drink were brought to table but we just drank to save waiting any longer. Had to ask 3 times to order the food, had to spell penne pasta for the waitress. We only ordered two meals, a garlic bread and a take away pizza- this took 2 and a half hours to be brought to us. Although when the food did finally arrive the order was completely wrong- even after spelling penne to the girl, I still received spaghetti. We received the takeaway pizza on a plate, a burnt margarita and the wrong pasta dish. We did eat the food after making the waitress aware, as we could not wait any longer to eat as it was now 21:45 when we arrived at 19:30. When leaving we explained how we had been treated and was even told by the waitress “your service has been s*** tonight”. Instead of knocking money or the bill etc, we was offered a free shot. I appreciate the place was busy, but this was ridiculous. Having the food had been nice and not made us both sick when getting home and following morning or been the correct order and it burnt, we may not have minded waiting a little while but over 2 and a half hours is silly.

Having lived in Spilsby for nearly 4 years I never really thought twice about this place. Not sure why we just always went to the Chinese for takeaway. But after we were recommended to try Little Italy we went and ordered some pizzas and garlic bread and I have to say I'm annoyed we didn't try this place sooner. Pizza was great not too soggy not too dry, all customizations were there. We only had to wait 20 mins too! The price is very reasonable too, much cheaper than the awful pizzas across the road at Step In.

We had a evening meal here and it was ok everything was well cooked and very tasty the place itself is clean and tidy the only thing letting it down was the service which was a bit hit and miss , most had been on the " Dont make eye contact course " and passed with fly colours .. would we venture back ... probably

I took my teenage boys for a meal. We have been coming here since 2010; normally a 4/5 or 5/5 meal, with the odd glitch thrown in - which I've always let go, as I genuinely cannot be bothered writing reviews normally, and sometimes you get a certain dish which maybe doesn't hit the mark. I ordered Cannelloni, eldest Calzone, youngest Carnonara.I specifically asked as to the ingredients of the Calzone, and was specifically told it contained ham, pepperoni and chicken. That's it. My son said, "good, because that's what I would have ordered". Food arrived. My Cannelloni was edible, nice filling but over-dry pasta. The carbonara was... nice, but slightly odd-flavoured and extremely over-rich so my son left most of it. I admit, after tasting it, I would have left it as well. The Calzone - well, it contained onions, mushrooms and peppers - specifically what my son does not like. As the waitresses were like ghosts, and nobody came to check on our order - which is normal procedure, is it not? - I went up to the counter and explained the situation. I was told the menu states the Calzone contains "a bit of everything" but I explained that, after specifically asking the waitress as to contents, that's not what I was told. She said, "Well the waitress must have assumed you wanted everything" - which is a bit odd. She said she would get us another Calzone. Fine. Problem solved, despite being very argumentative and making me feel like it was my fault. This is not something which is hard to correct. We were then avoided. I had to go up to ask for more drinks. I had to go up to remind the ghosts to bring the drinks they had not brought. After waiting 20 minutes for the bill, we finally went up to the bar counter where the waitress happily told me - get this - that on this occasion she would not be charging me for the second Calzone - completely missing the fact it was their fault in the first place. She stood back, as if expecting applause or a Blue Peter Badge. I said nothing, not wanting an argument, but the whole experience was a joke. Poor food, incorrect order, ignorant waitresses. Both my boys and I agreed, on our drive home, we would go somewhere else next time as our little Special Place was ruined. And there's a lot of choice out there!! What a shame after so many years.

Living in Spilsby we go every week. Prawn main dish 2 prawns 1 still with shell. Main pitza soggy mess. Still charged full price although pitza left after 1 slice. Absolutely discusting meal. Sorry you have just lost 2 loyal customers

Lovely food. Good service. Highly recommended. A real find in this little village. It's not well signed so look for it opposite the market square.

Just had a takeout the this restaurant. Terrible and the order was totally wrong . Will never go again. This place has gone down hill big time , plus it’s so expensive.

Long wait for a walk in but fair enough. Made to feel welcome and enjoyed a drink. We were told half an hour and that’s what it was. Prawn tagliatelle somewhat uninspiring . Only had two large prawns and one prawn head !! with the rest being small shrimp. Edible but nothing special sadly. Didn’t actually eat it all as it was bland and a little boring. Other half had calzone which was nice and fresh.Holiday visit so unlikely to return but ok for a routine dinner based on our one take away.

I have eaten here on four occasions during ‘eat out to help out’ both with family and friends. The food has been consistently excellent. Each time it’s been very busy due to the discount but the staff absolutely worked their socks off to give great service and we didn’t feel standards were compromised at all. Overall a great dining out experience for families, couples and groups!

Arrived as a family of 5 (booked) stood for 10 minutes without anyone acknowledging our presence, finally a waitress came to take us to our table for 3? another 10 minutes wait - waited a further 20 mins for drinks order and we asked for our food order to be done at same time. 45 minutes later our food arrived, meals all mixed up but finally sorted, sadly basic at best and not worth the wait. The staff where totally overwhelmed and running around like headless chickens. Real shame as we had really looked forward to it. Sadly will not be going again.

We visited Little Italy as a family of four adults and three kids we each had different and all were lovely well cooked and served meals, from start to finish the food the service and of course the social distancing was excellent and would definitely recommend a visit you won’t be disappointed

What a shame! Haven’t been here for years as it used to be terrible, but went with friends after the recent Re-vamp. The interior is much better but sadly that’s all that has improved. Firstly we stood about for ages waiting to be shown to our precooked table. Once at the table the young waitress took our order, of a pizza to share as starter and 2 chicken and 2 steak mains.. Over an hour later we had to ask where our shared Pizza had got to. She said there was a mix up at the bar??? Eventually it arrived; minus cutlery or plates. After a further 30 mins the mains arrived; sadly they were distinctly average. I appreciate that they were busy due to the government eat out scheme but surely they could either have enough staff to cope or don’t book more covers than the kitchen can cope with! Won’t be returning

The food here was fantastic, my girlfriend and I came here last week for our first date after lockdown. It was very busy because of the deal, service was a bit slow but they were doing there best. Everyone was very friendly and apologetic for waiting but it was to be expected. The price was fantastic and the food was even better. Definitely will be returning when I come back from uni!

Very disappointed. The garlic bread starter was cold. Had pollo vesuvio which supposedly is in a spicy tomato sauce. Bland and tasteless. No spice at all! Menu said hand cut chips. They were frozen and tasteless. Carling beer was flat. Wont be returning

Booked a table for 8pm for my fiancé and I. We were seated in the bar area rather than the main restaurant as it was very busy but they sat us next to an open door, which I asked for it to be shut as my fiancé is pregnant. We were sat there for around 15 mins before someone came to take our drinks order and food. I ordered a pint of Carling and unfortunately it was very flat, I asked to change it but still had the same problem when brought back in the end I asked to swap to a bottle of beer which was much better. Starters came out and the mushroom starter was lovely but the garlic bread was cold, there was no cutlery so we had to ask for some. Mains arrived we both had chicken dishes, and the waitress didn’t know what she had brought out, “one with mushrooms”.. again we had to ask for some more cutlery. We were never asked if the meals were okay during or if we wanted anymore drinks - many tables were having to ask for drinks, Parmesan and black pepper which was not offered. My fiancé ordered another drink but it never came so we had to ask again for it. Both mains were very bland and tasteless no seasoning. Once tables had been cleared we were not asked if everything was okay or if we would like anything else, we waited 15mins until I got up to ask for a desert menu. Deserts were brought out and the waitress didn’t know what she was bringing again “I think it’s a tiramisu”.Overall the experience was very disappointing, we have been before and thought we’d try it again as we’re locals and would like to support our town. However All the waitresses are all very young and not very attentive and had no idea what was going on which made the atmosphere very uncomfortable. The food was pretty poor. The price wasn’t a problem as it was Eat out to help out, but unfortunately we won’t be returning anytime soon.

Only interested in money as a regular customer that has a takeaway nearly everyweek my money not good enough now eat out scheme is on. So will never return bad customer service you'd would have thought they would keep regular customers happy but no not interested.

The only place open for food on a Monday night in winter, it turns out!! We arrived 10 mins before last food orders and even then nothing was too much trouble! Food was good, I went for lamb from the specials board. The veg looked rather similar to birds eye, but then, it's an Italian restaurant and I was ordering a British dinner so maybe that was a silly idea. My brother had something more Italian and was pleased. There are a few British options on the menu but variety.

We were here for a family dinner on Friday evening, a group of 10 with 3 young boys. From start to finish it was a really nice experience. Our son has been previously, so it was on his recommendation, and we were all very happy with his choice. The waiting staff were delightful. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and they looked after us excellently all evening. The food was delicious. As good as any Italian we have eaten in. The prices were very, very reasonable. The ambience within the restaurant was relaxed and friendly. All in all, a lovely evening at an excellent restaurant. We look forward to our return.

We all met for Christmas feast and all was well. Two of our guests had cold pizzas yet it was dealt with immediately and promptly. We had really good service al night and were very happy with the outcome.

Visited on a Thursday evening, quite busy. Delicious meal, between us had mussels & calamari for starters, seafood risotto, linguine with tomato, olives & capers, tiramisu & brulee. Very reasonably priced, staff friendly and helpful. Can recommend and will definitely return.

Really nice meal and atmosphere. Staff friendly and warm. Some what noisy but a great atmosphere. Could do with noise deadening curtains so as not to shout sometimes.

My wife and I arrived a little early and decided to sit and have a drink before the meal. The waiting staff were well dressed and very friendly The drinks menu had a few choices from each selection at reasonable prices, so everyone should be able to find something they can drink. We were served our drinks immediately and my wife and I started to relax before our meal.When we finished our drinks we asked if we could go through to eat and we were taken through straight away and sat at a table for four, which I personally prefer as I sometimes feel that two people at a table for two with all the plates and glasses can feel a little cramped. We were given the menus and I asked for the WiFi password, which was promptly given.The food menu has a nice selection at VERY good prices. You could get a starter, and a pizza for about £12. We both opted to have an appetiser, a starter, a main and a shared side dish with our mains.The appetisers arrived quickly, my wife had bruschetta with cherry tomatoes, I have bruschetta with olives. My wife liked the tomatoes but said the bruschetta was too oily. My olives were nice and although I didn’t mind oil on my bruschetta, one of the bread rolls was so burnt you couldn’t chew it.The waiting staff had attended and asked if we liked them, but when we first started we had not noticed this yet, so we happily said it was delicious.Our starters arrived, my wife had mushrooms baked in tomato sauce and topped with cheese. I had the soup of the day, which was vegetable. Again the waiting staff asked if we liked the food, but again this was before we noticed any problems.My soup on first taste was delicious, but after the first few spoons I started to realise that the rich taste was just a huge amount of oil. Floating on top was several millimetres of oil, so I pushed the dish aside and left it. My wife liked her starter, but found the baked tomato sauce to be a little sour. I tried it and thought it was very nice. My wife is not familiar with Italian food and whenever we eat some she says the tomato sauce is a little sour. So I think this is more fault than the foods.During this time the waiting staff have be lovely and attentive checking if we needed drink refills etc and my wife and I are trying our best to have a fun night regardless of the food.Our steaks arrived and although I know most look down upon it, we both prefer our steaks well done. my wife opted for a creamy and pepper sauce and I had a Stilton sauce, both were rich and delicious. Each main came with a generous portion of steak fries and a salad. My wife usually asks me to help cut her steak, which I did.Upon cutting into her steak I noticed it was burnt. We eat steaks a lot when eat out and frequently cook them at home, so I know a steak can be well done and still tender. This steak was burnt, not slightly burnt, but several millimetres of char on the bottom, it was also incredibly dry. Again, I know people look down upon well done, but we personally prefer it this way, we are paying for the food and it is actually fairly easy to do well.My steak was also badly burnt and dry, but we persevered, poured on the sauce and tried. I ate a bite, chewed until I could finally swallow in the hopes the inner meat would be nicer. Took a bite of inner meat, tried to chew, spit it out and pushed the plate aside. The steak fries looked very nice, as did the salad, but with almost every part of the meal being disappointing, I decided I was done with the meal.I don’t think I have ever seen my wife not finish a steak, but even though she fought through to her third or four bite. For the first time ever I saw her push away a steak.For the first time in my life I actually said I didn’t want to pay for the steak. It wasn’t about the price, it was just I thought it terrible that a chef would actually serve such a burnt steak. My only thoughts were that they either hate people who take steak well done and wanted to show us a lesson, or simply can’t cook a steak. Slightly overdone, I can forgive, blackened so badly that it looks like it was forgotten in the back of the oven/pan for an hour I cannot. Too then do this to both steaks is a joke.The waiting staff did apologise and took a steak off the bill. We were offered shots, but my wife doesn’t drink much and I was just ready to leave.The most disappointing part for us is that this places shows lots of promise, nice environment, great waiting staff, nice selection of food and drinks and all at a great price. it’s just a pity the food is so bad.

Came down from london to see a friend ' we popped in had a few pizzas and starters real tasty ' great decor and fab wines keep up the good work .

Had a really good meal with family. A tiny wait as a big table arrived but worth waiting for. All meals were really good and more than enough.

Four of us went for birthday and anniversary meal : wasn’t disappointed the food was excellent , the service and staff were brilliant, I had a ribeye steak which was cooked perfect: all the meals were very good , the restaurant is lovely inside .

popped in on a Sunday evening for a bite to eat and had a thoroughly enjoyable meal. The service was excellent and the male server was a credit to himself and the business (sorry I didn't get his name). First time for goats cheese and loved it. Huge portions, delicious and great value for money. Will definitely be returning. Highly recommended

Decided to visit this restaurant as driving around the area. Excellent service from young waitresses. Sat at the front by the window. Food was a while coming but waitress did apologise. Starters were excellent. Main course of Spaghetti Bolognese was awful. Mine was more Sauce than pasta and it was overcooked and was mulched. No flavour of tomatoes at all. I can honestly say it was the worse Spag Vol I have ever been served.The tomato and onion salad that came had no dressing on at all and consisted of half a tomato and barely any onions, made up of lots of lettuce! No thought at all was put into making it! Where we sat was very noisy with customers coming in ordering their takeaways and having drinks. This should have been pointed out before we sat down. The background music was absolutely not the appropriate music for an Italian restaurant. I did not enjoy the experience at all. My better half asked me not to complain at the time as I was fizzing inside.

I have never written a review but felt I have to for this great restaurant. The food is super and amazing value. The staff are attentive without being over the top. Give this a go you’ll be surprised. Enjoy

My wife and I don't give reviews often however on this occasion we felt Little italy was deserving an honest first time visit review.

Before I start the review I thought I’d mention that we understand that a few months ago this restaurant changed hands and this is our first visit since.

First visit for many years. The refurb of the restaurant is just wonderful. It's now warm and cozy, with a lovely atmosphere and a modern feel. I'm really glad they've moved some seating to the front, and the rustic wooden tables and comfy mismatched seats are charming.

We dined here last night and as a party of 4 we were well looked after and taken care of without being urged to order quickly or rushed after we had finished our meals.

Visited this evening with family to celebrate my daughters 18th birthday. Amazing food and wonderful attentive staff that all contributed to making her special day a memorable one 🥂

I have been using little Italy for a couple of years now. And the food was never perfect however since the renovation we noticed a new menu.

Pleasantly surprised at the refurbishment, visited a few years ago and overall it wasn't a great experience but wow! what a difference! Lovely contemporary decor and relaxed atmosphere, food was great, well presented and plentiful. Staff were attentive and polite. Will definitely be returning :)

Ten of us went as a birthday meal,we were a little apprehensive reading some previous reviews,but we were very pleasantly surprised.The refurbishment was tastefully carried out and made good improvements to the overall ambience.Everybody was pleased with their meal,it was nice to see a new menu in place.The only real grumble would be the length of time it took for the starter to arrive.This is not a reflection on the staff who were always busy,but poor organisation from the kitchen.People who have their starter and a drink are happy and not too anxious for their main course to arrive.

We were looking for somewhere different to eat and we drove into Spilsby,we saw the Little Italy Italian restaurant from the main road, it looked lovely candles in the window, it looked very welcoming. We decided to give it a try, it was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble, the staff were so friendly, the food was to die for and the portions were huge, my starter of mozzarella and tomato came with olives,I have never tasted Pasta like it and ths desserts were amazing,This will be our Italian restaurant from now on.Thank you for a lovely night out.

First of all we had to asked to be shown to our table.

We had a take-away of two pizzas and a garlic bread, which were absolutely awful. All three had a ridiculously large area around the edge with no topping...and looked nothing like the pizza in the profile pic! What topping there was, looked extremely unappetising and the base was horrible; hard and tasteless mostly, and the thicker pieces weren’t cooked properly in the middle. We ate what we could, but 2/3 was inedible.

We arrived on time and we were promptly shown to our table, sadly it went down hill from there. The service was slow to the point of none existent. The drinks order was wrong and had items missing, this seemed like a hard point for the waiter to swallow. The garlic bread took 50 minutes to arrive from being seated. When it did arrive it was terribly dry and obvious that the base had not been cooked on site. There was hardly any cheese on it either. All the plates were freezing cold and wet. Before the main arrived I went to use the loo which was dirty with dust all over the hand dryer and hair and dust all over the toilet. When the mains arrived they didn't all come together. I had pollo alla crema which I've eaten many times before, but this one was tasteless with bits of chopped up chicken rather than a whole breast. The accompanying chips were funny tasting. My daughters carbonara had a very strange aftertaste almost sour. When the server asked is everything ok we said no and explained why. He thankfully took the carbonara off the bill but said mine must of been down to my taste. Needless to say we won't be rushing back

Newly refurbished with new menu. Enjoyed three meals over as many weeks. Would highly recommend. Even the kids enjoyed it

We first went to Little Italy 5 years ago, it was lovely, but then sadly it went down hill. We noticed it was being refurbished and decided to give it another go. I think it opened again a few weeks ago.

We went as a large party with two toddlers. The staff were super friendly and everyone’s meals were very good. They really need to shout about the recent restaurant over haul! We will be back and tell friends in the mean time.

We were recommended to try this new restaurant and it certainly didn’t disappoint. The service was excellent from the moment we arrived and the staff were very friendly.The food was lovely and my husband remarked that his carbonara was the best he’s ever tasted. The restaurant was fully booked and the staff seemed to be coping with ease, hence there was a nice atmosphere. We will definitely be returning again soon.

This was the first visitors with new owners. What a transformation! Comfortable seating, pleasant Decor, very pleasant waitresses and wonderful food. We will not only visit again soon but we will recommend it to our friends.

We experienced a long wait for our food but when it came it was delicious. The waiter was very pleasant and he did inform us of a delay. Because it was a social visit we didn’t mind too much. We will certainly dine here again.

We eat here regularly and have never had a bad meal or bad service. Ate there tonight and had a lovely meal. Whether we have been just lucky or not I'm not sure. I think it went through a bad patch but is definitely somewhere to eat in Spilsby.

Another lovely meal at this little restaurant. As ever the food was perfectly cooked and great value for money - yet to be disappointed here. 4 of us went and had 3 courses plus drinks and garlic bread and the bill came to around £25 each.

We visited here on a Saturday evening and due to transport difficulties arrived 30 minutes before our booked time. The premises are quite large but all the tables were not taken. There was an 18th Birthday party with about a dozen guests and 3 or four other tables with two or three customer on each. There was only one girl taking the orders and working the bar. One male staff member doing the cooking and another middle aged male serving the food. It took ages. We had been sat down for at least 45 minutes before we were asked what we would like to eat and drink.

I never normally give a bad review prefer to speak to the restaurant staff, however this meal was absolutely terrible. We ended up paying for our drinks and one meal and then left. The pizza was uncooked and had raw dough and the chips tasted of old fat where the oil had obviously not been changed in a while. I felt sorry for the waitress who was obviously embarrassed.

The atmosphere is very welcoming and the staff are wonderful. It was my Birthday so I was treated by my Wife and Daughter. The ambience is that of a authentic Italian restaurant with stone floors and light, easy tables and chairs. We have been before and shall definitely go again !!

Another great evening, the food was wonderful - cooked to perfection and despite several other couples there we had no delay with our meal. Really love this little restaurant.

We haven't been for while but went tonight and it was excellent .We will definitely start coming more regularly again . The food was great and they make the children welcome ...We shared some of our choices which meant we could mange 3 courses and were happy to bring out extra plates and cutlery . Waiter is friendly and attentive without being in your face ...Thank you for a lovely meal .

This has become a favourite place. We had another lovely meal ribs and garlic bread followed by pasta al forno which was cooked to perfection. The house red was also very nice. Meal for 2 (starters and mains - couldn't manage a dessert) inc drinks came to just over £45.

Visited Little Italy at the weekend for the first time in ages, but wow, we had a fab meal, with wine for a very good price.

Called in following bonfire party, no problem getting a table, had a great meal as usual ! We were the only people in so service was excellent !

We came with the family 10 of us and had an excellent meal as usual and great atmosphere the ages ranged from 5year to 70years and all had a really great time. It is our favourite local place to eat. We always book first as it it easier for the staff to deal with everyone, and if we are a large party we pre order our food so that makes it easier for the chef.

The chef clearly doesn't know how to make a pizza base. We were served the garlic bread and it was a rock hard pizza base with some burnt garlic on top. I was dumb founded and a little worried as I had ordered a pizza and sure enough it was the same rock hard base. The owner came round and and asked me how it was, I said so so but I wanted to throw it in his face. I would be ashamed if I served that up.

3 of us went on a Saturday evening (the third turned up unexpectedly and joined us). It was very quiet so I can't say what the service would be like if it was full but we had a wonderful evening. The food was excellent - well cooked and decent sized portions. The house wine was also very good. Spotlessly clean, the staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Great value for money, we will definitely be returning and soon.

Not been for ages (why?!) went this evening with friends and had a delicious meal, shared garlic bread and each of us had something different for main course including fish, chicken and pasta, all yum. The choc pancake was as great as ever, good value for money and very tasty meal. We will be back SOON.

Fuimos para una comida de cumpleaños con la familia. Tenía pasta y pizza platos platos limpios a la izquierda! La comida era excelente, el servicio era bueno cuidado si nos bien para bebidas, etc. Todavía no entiendo el quejones aquí!

Como una familia, hemos comido aquí dos veces y en ambas ocasiones recientemente han sido una gran relación calidad-precio con comida maravillosamente sabrosa puso ante nosotros. El servicio era fantástico, y no dudaría en recomendar el lugar.

Since we first discovered this restaurant we've made a point of eating here regularly. It's always good and each dish is freshly made to order. where the wine's concerned we always have the house red, which incidentally is merlot and for the price, great. The young waitress is very attentive without being overbearing, it's a real pleasure to have her serve us. There were several other diners in tonight and all seemed to be enjoying their meals as much as we enjoyed ours. I'd say if you're wanting to eat Italian, you won't go wrong to give this place a try and the bill definately won't break the bank, even with a tip.

There was a group of 7 of us , it was a Wednesday evening , the restaurant is lovely and large , but its a shame that there was us and one other table of 2 !! the food was lovely , wine lovely and great value for money , staff nice just a shame there wasn't more customers, but will be going again .

This restaurant used to be so busy. Great evenings were had with brilliant food and atmosphere.Over the years all has changed although it is now back with the original owner.Four of us ate there last night and apart from three others that was the total. The dining area is brilliant with a typical Mediterranean feel to it. But no one was there and the music was Spanish!The food was excellent, good service, piping hot and really enjoyable Thanks for that. But the red wine was awful. At £7 for a half litre jug it was so overpriced and undrinkable by my friend. The next quality up was £18 a bottle.So come on Little Italy pull your finger out and get back to what we all loved.

After reading a few bad reviews we'd unfortunately steered clear of this little gem of a restaurant. After eating there and in our opinion the bad reviews were totally unfounded. We thought the food, portion sizes and service we recieved were all excellent and we'll most definately be dining there again. After speaking to a few other people and being told that they've eaten there happilly for years, we have no qualms about become regular customers. Brilliant place to go eat and great prices too.

The restaurant we normally eat at was fully booked so I say lucky us, or we'd never have thought of eating at Little Italy. What an absolute treat to eat here. We had great service from a really charming, young waitress and the food (three courses) to rival anything locally. We've lived locally since July and have only just ventured through the door of this restaurant. I'm sure if the standards set tonight are anything to go by, then we will become hard and fast regulars. Well done to all at LITTLE ITALY, you helped make my partners birthday special, thank you..! YES, we will come again !

Have eaten here for many years and always had good food, however the service and tired decor has always let it down. Gave it another try and wow..... Lick of paint and great smiley service ! Only one niggle .... Bring back the old chips please.

We have been a few times before and it has always been quiet and the food sub-par... Thought we would give it one last go, maybe we have been going on an off night??Ordered a coke, after a few sips I found a mint in the bottom of it... This was towards the end of the meal and I laughed it off with my partner and said I would mention it when we pay for the bill. When I showed the owner the drink with a mint in the bottom of it, he laughed and asked if I was joking... I said no. He refused to believe me and said to my other half 'You partner has put it in there'. I told him I didn't want a free drink or any money taken off the bill, I just thought he should know that there was a mint in my drink... He STILL refused to believe me an accused me of doing it. I kept asking him where would I get the mint from and why would I do it? There was a bowl of lose (unpackaged) mints on the bar... I pointed them out and said it's one of them. He got very defensive and kept suggesting I put it there... This was infuriating as you can imagine...Along with the poor service and greasy pizzas, this was a terrible dining experience. There was no atmosphere and we were placed in a corner of an empty room. Service was extremely slow and there was only one other table who ordered coffee and had to remind them of the order...I refuse to go back even though it's the only Italian restaurant for quite a few miles...

We turned up at 7pm on a Saturday evening after booking the night before to find a half empty restaurant, this was bank holiday weekend, so not a good sign.After ordering drinks at the bar we were taken to our table & given our menus, so far, so normal. 30mins later we were finally asked for our order, 20mins later our shared garlic breads arrived, a little longer to wait than I'd expected but at least they were alright. Now for the patience mentioned in the title. 20mins later the table behind our group received their main...one dish was swiftly sent back & another one of that table walked to the toilet with food still in his mouth, we were getting nervous. 9pm quickly arrived & the table opposite that arrived at the same time finally had their food, this was greeted with cheers by their table. It was at this point we paid for our starters & left to get a kebab at the takeaway across the street. At no point did any staff approach us to apologise for any delays or explain that their would be a wait, when we finally gave up our wait (2hrs!) explained to the owner that we would be leaving we met with a rude abrupt response.

We regularly come here; the food is always excellent, and cooked to your request. pricing is very reasonable unlike lots of other Italian restaurants in the area.Very accommodating staff.Highly recommended to anyone. If you want the fine dining experience, please don't complain about a main course that costs £8-95. A meal for 4 including starter, Litre of wine and drivers drinks all for £60. Top notch.

The service was very poor, we waited ages just for a drink to arrive. Only two staff on a Saturday evening. Food was totally average, I can cook better than that and have never even been to Italy!!! The only plus point is that it is child friendly. Acoustics are terrible, no music, just a horrible experience.

Despite the mixed reviews we decided to give the restaurant a go and make up our own mind. The service was appalling!! It took over 15 mins from sitting us down for someone to take a drink order and even then I had to ask. The staff spoke pigeon English, which ended up with us playing Russian roulette with our order! I ordered a large dry white wine but the waitress said red wine? I said no white wine and ended up with a small glass! The tables next to us being delivered the wrong food! Despite being half empty the staff clearly couldn't cope with the customers. The garlic bread was nice, but my husbands salmon over cooked and my chicken was tough. When it came to paying the bill, I gave them my debit card, the machine was asking them to swipe the supervisor card but instead he took my card and kept swiping it down the machine until I had to quite insistently ask him to stop doing that with my card! Eventually he sorted the card machine and took my payment but scrutinised the receipt to make sure the payment had gone through in a very rude manner!

Big mistake, took over 45 minutes for the food to arrive, it was bland,tasteless, the chips were huge wedges and a lot of the potatoes were black. Plates were cold, not a good idea when serving pasta.The spaghetti bolognese was very watery with no visible meat content. The lasagne was very inconsistent with the ingredients, never had one which contained bacon. The ladies asked for large cokes and it was served in pint boddingtons glasses! Really disappointed will not be going here again, and would advise others to give it a miss.

My wife and I and our 3 children popped in today for a lovely lunch, excellent service from start to finish, lovely food, they catered well for the children even doing chicken nuggets for the youngest as he's very fussy, nothing was to much trouble for staff. A very enjoyable meal, we will be back soon.

Just when me and my partner thought we had the Italian back with the original owners cooking fantastic food in which we have had a couple of times since. Tonight we have been so let down just like it was before absolutely no taste to the food what so ever very bland, cheap tasting! Will not be coming again very disappointing to say the least x

Service was excellent and could not be faulted however the food had limited options and was only average in flavour compared to other Italians I have visited.

From the out this is not overly attractive as a restaurant, but when compared with others we looked at it seemed the most likely to give us what we wanted. When we entered it was like Alice Through The Looking glass in that from a small exterior it just kept getting bigger. The staff we attentive and the food came quickly and was really good. My wife had a dessert that she kept talking well after we got home . So if you like Italian Food bells ma.

I've been to the little Italy a few times with my boyfriend who always really enjoys the fillet steak. The sauce and chips he has with it are always good too. Unfortunately as a vegetarian there is very little choice for me and what there is is pretty bland and uninspiring. The dessert menu is limited. The whole place, decor, menu etc could really do with a revamp.
