This was a lovely restaurant. The food was really great so was the atmosphere. The background music was just pitched right to add to the ambience without being intrusive and annoying. Really everything was perfect - A masterclass in how to get it right.

Hugely disappointed! I would say home cooking standard but feel that would be a disservice to home cooks. To start should of been Gambas pil pil, instead was opaque prawns in bottled sweet chilli sauce, the other starter was supposed to be roasted chorizo with vine tomatoes and bread platter,in reality we got cold wafer thin sliced meat, cold tomatoes and a couple of croutons. Both dishes are so simple to cook and tastie if done correctly. Pil pil prawns: Cook prawns in a hot pan with garlic, chilli flakes, pinch of paprika, olive oil and fresh parsley. Simple! Main course was at best okay, piece of slow cooked pork,3 small pieces of potato, 1 piece of carrot and 2 olive's. Desert was frangipane which again was disappointing. A disservice to Spanish cuisine in my opinion. When the cost is £84 for two without drinks I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a much higher standard of food, which unfortunately we didn't receive.

Delightful! We have wanted to dine at the Little House Restaurant for a long time but unfortunately our previous visits to the area have been mid week when they are closed. This time we travelled later so managed to get a table on the Saturday night. It was definitely worth waiting for! Upon entering we were warmly greeted, seated, given water & menus by Andrew, the owner who straight away makes you feel like an old friend. Situated in a lovely building with only a small number of covers, it exudes a wery nice, friendly, comfortable atmopshere with some nice, low key jazz playing quietly in the background. Drinks order taken whilst we perused the menu. Charcuterie platter of cured meats & parmesan & garlic King Prawns 'piri-piri' chosen to start followed by baked fillet of silver hake with lentil & vegetable cassoulet & pan fried fillet of Ribble Valley beef with a cracked black pepper, cognac & cream sauce along with a very nice bottle of red wine. A wonderful dessert named Yorkshire Mess consisting of rhubarb, meringue & all the associated creamy bits was shared as was a glass of delightful dessert wine. The timings between courses were perfect. The chef came out & we had a lovey chat with her during which we discovered a slight connection to our home town of Beverley. All in all, an extremely enjoyable, unrushed evening with great friendly service, a relaxed atmosphere & most of all, delicious food! We noticed that a lot of the diners appeared to be regulars with several making bookings for future dates which is alays a good sign of a decent restaurant. Highly recommended.* *We travel to Greece quite a lot & noticed that on the first weekend of the month, The Little House present a menu influenced by different countries. The next one is a Greek evening & even though we live a couple of hours away, we have booked a table for this as the menu looked very inviting!

Certainly lives up to its name. With covid restrictions only has room for 12, so need you to make sure to book in advance. But if you are fortunate enough to get a seat you are in for a treat. With so few customers you can be sure of first class service and the food is delicious. The menu is a little limited but everything is prepared to the highest standards. They also do monthly specials, featuring food from a particular country. Not to be missed!!

We have often seen this restaurant on our occasional visits to Settle. We made the effort and booked and so glad we did. Beautiful simply cooked food with no pretentious style or ingredients just tasty dishes that I would say is bistro style. We both had sardines to start that were cooked beautifully with lemon and olive oil followed by lamb that was cooked to perfection with gorgeous sauce and the tiny roasties were perfect. Pancakes with blueberries etc for me and a gorgeous looking rhubarb mess for him that finished a lovely meal. We will be back.

Modern and bright restaurant serving delicious well prepared and presented food. Menu is limited, but sumptuous, and roughly once a month they hold special evenings showcasing the food of a particular region or country. Portion size, like the restaurant itself, is fairly small.Limited, pricey, but well chosen wine list. However, our wine was simply placed on the table; no tasting offered, which I would have expected at this price point.Friendly service from the owner whilst his wife is the chef.Unfortunately, even with just one bottle of wine between two you’ll easily spend £100 per couple. Great for a special evening out, but better value exists elsewhere in town. You pays your money and takes your choice.

Fine Dining in the Yorkshire DalesWe’ve been eating at Little House for close to seventeen years. Not every week, not even every month but often enough and long enough to be recognised on the phone when we call to book a table (a recognisably Scottish accent may help, of course)During this time we have never had a bad meal: but you could say the same of Pizza Express.More to the point is that every meal we’ve eaten at Little House over all these years has been special: subtle, beautifully cooked and presented. (As it was indeed last night). Cool style: a big Hopper print is echoed in the restaurants own mirrors which open up limited space (the name gives it away). Small but not crowded: even full, there are not people sitting in your lap and each table (beautiful plain oak) is large enough to spread out.Interesting to read the (tiny) handful of negative reviews. This is not a “celebrity” chef exercising their ego on innocent food to for something that looks a cross between Picasso and Jackson Pollock. Rather you have excellent ingredients perfectly cooked, beautifully presented. A well chosen list of drinkable wines. Cool jazz in the background, affable service from the proprietor. Bookings are staggered over the course of an evening so there’s personal attention for each diner. You can eat more cheaply in Settle (several pubs, curry houses, pizza place, couple of good chip shops, a friendly Chinese takeaway) but for occasion and delight you’d travel far to find anything like Little House. The website is worth a visit, but the reviews say it all. We’ll be back.

The standard and quality of British food goes up and up each year. There has been such a remarkable improvement from the terrible food of the sixties and seventies to the food of today and most restaurateurs recognise that good food on its own isn't enough - equally important is atmosphere and decor. Price is a sensitive issue. Produce excellent food and the customers won't begrudge a high price but an average meal deserves only an average price.

Called at the 'Little House' on Saturday evening for Dinner as we were attending a concert at 'The Victoria Hall.' We found it by searching on Trip Advisor and have to say it was Brilliant!A little difficult to find, the doorway if off the main street in a small ginnel, but it really is a perfect 'little' place. The menu is varied and contains some very tempting combinations. All the food is freshly prepared whilst you wait so that if you want to alter the ingredients the chef is very accommodating and can usually oblige. The spinach soup was a triumph and was a perfect entrée for what was to come. As for the main courses, the chicken with crispy black pudding was melt-in-the-mouth and the sea bass was exquisite. The puddings included Parkin-not something you see everyday on a menu, chocolate brownie (just perfect) and the Richard III Wensleydale cheese, grapes, crackers and fruitcake was super but there were many more to choose from. There was a good wine list and the owner had a good knowledge in order to make appropriate recommendations. We visited on Easter Saturday arriving at 7.30pm, having pre-booked (which is recommended as it is a popular place). We opted for the Caesar salad with prosciutto and seafood pancake for starters. Both were well-presented, nicely prepared and a reasonable size. The pancake contained plenty of seafood and the salad was a good balance of flavours. We followed this with tuna steak and king prawns saganaki for our mains; both of which were perfectly cooked and very appetising. Again, portions were a reasonable size and excellent quality. Unusually for us, we chose to have a pudding (which we shared) and opted for the amaretto bread and butter pudding. The portion size was perfect for us to share - one each would have been too much. Service was very good and we would strongly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

I have eaten at The Little House on several occasions. For Settle it is a little unusual in that it sets its standards high..and its prices too. But it s attempts to surpass Settle's norm are well rewarded.. In a tiny room with probably a maximum of twenty covers, the owner and his wife manage to conjure up some rare and intriguing tastes and flavours.I think that the restaurant would claim to major on an Italian menu...but who cares as whatever is served up is delightful. The proprietor/maitre d' might be accused of, at times, being too attentive, verging on fawning, but i think that his actions and attitude are only intent on ensuring that his clientele receive what they sought in visiting his premises..A bonus here is that the choice of wines offered to diners is very recherche...verging on the unusual, with an emphasis on Italian ones.An evening meal here NEVER fails to satisfy and impress..

Best restaurant meal we've had in some time. Good menu with a range of dishes. We had a great evening with a visiting friend who really appreciated the local specialities. A fair price for very good food.

Great little find after all the disappointing pubs in the area. More expensive but well worth it. Excellent personal service. A welcome menu compared to others that have the same old same old. Very much enjoyed

After visiting Little House Restaurant tonight, we cannot praise them enough, both for the delicious food and excellent, friendly service. It was really pleasing to find a menu that included a fruit selection in the first course; very tasty!! We came across this restaurant by chance while staying in Giggleswick and would definitely recommend it to any who appreciates excellent food. Would certainly eat there again.

Went for my wife's birthday..had the best kia royals ever. All the food was done to perfection and the personal service was second to none. Veronica even baked a birthday cake. The atmosphere lends itself to a really pleasant dining experience. Highly recommended.

Tonight we decided to have dinner at this lovely establishment as we are visiting the area for a wedding tomorrow. The food is outstanding if you're looking for something special. We opted for the sea bream in a pesto sauce which also came with cherry tomatoes, green beans and potatoes followed by a chocolate melting pot with summer fruits, ice cream & biscotti. Perfect for the Summer. If we ever visit this area again we will definitely eat there. A great menu, nice ambiance and superb service and wine.Perfect for couples and diners who like quality. Please reserve in advance to avoid disappointment if you can't get in.

We dined here as a party of 10 and what a wonderful night we had. The food was excellent and so was the service making it a fantastic night out. It may only be small as the name implies but it's very big on everything else!! I definitely recommend this lovely restaurant.

We had been recommended a couple of pubs for a meal in Settle, but found their menus to be uninspiring and frankly useless for non meat eaters...so we wandered about and eventually stumbled upon this little place. Fantastic fantastic fantastic!!! The place has a small but well conceived and interesting menu, professional service from the host, the best cooked presented sea bream I have ever eaten, just the right size portions, fabulous wines, divine desserts - if you are in Settle you should treat yourself. It is proper FINE DINING at very good prices

This was our second visit to this wonderful little gem of a place! We went with my cousin and her husband, who are regulars! Everything about this place is superb!!! The food is obviously their main event.......what I like is they only have enough food for the people who have booked, so not fighting for cover after cover so the atmosphere is relaxed and not rushed!! What ever you order is full of flavour and just the right portion size, the wine is of an excellent quality and its delivered with love!Molton Brown in the toilet.......is also a nice touch!!!I don't really want people to find about this little gem as I want to keep it a secret but that would be unfair on Andrew and his wife, as they do a 'grand job' as they say in Yorkshire!!

We ate Little House on Thursday 4th June. I had booked it an 'add on' to an overnight at Hellifield Peel Castle for my husbands birthday. I went purely on recent reviews and was delighted it lived up to expectations. It was quite when we went (probably due to a theme night planned the following night), but it didn't matter the atmosphere was still great. Food was excellent and perfect portion sizes to have 3 course. The Parkin and toffee sauce was gorgeous. If we are in Settle again we will definitely be returning. Highly recommend it.

Excellent freshly cooked meals and a menu that changes constantly. Good wines and beers and the fish dishes are especially good since the owners / chef select the fish every day from a high end supplier who brings it fresh from the docks. Last time I ate there I had a delicious plate of grilled sardines with salad, home made bread and a glass of very good sauvignon blanc.

An absolutely lovely evening. Well thought out menu options, beautifully presented. Would highly recommend the nut moussaka, and asparagus and Brie tartlet. Attentive service without being intrusive. Friendly relaxed atmosphere. Prices no higher than the nicer pubs in Settle, but a much more special experience. Definitely highly recommended.

My wife and I were visiting Settle and we visited on a mid-week evening with local resident Gerrygrumps whose positive review is below. So our expectations were high. The service was charming and faultless and the food was delicious. The restaurant was quiet and we learned that another couple eating there owned one of the other restaurants in Settle. This is probably one of the more expensive restaurants in Settle (the menu and prices are clearly displayed outside) and my impression is that the restaurant is aiming at mature customers who appreciate good food. In our case they were completely successful.

The restaurant deserves praise for the inventiveness they display in their dishes, taking the best from various continental and British kitchens. They were a bit heavy on the sauce in my lambsteak. But the bressaola was well prepared according to classical rules. The coffee was also of good quality, something one can only be grateful for. The room was a bit cold when I arrived . Perhaps the heating could have been turned on a bit earlier?I also have some trouble with the tendency to name wines by the grape rather than by the country and region. But in all, a pleasant meal in smalltown Yorkshire

We have eaten there before and were not disappointed on returning. The choice was not enormous but sufficient and very quickly presented. Seldom do I go for three courses as my capacity has reduced over the years, but on this last occasion I was very tempted.

We hadn't booked on the Friday (had tried to book on the Saturday but it was full) and were lucky enough to get a table. The waiter was lovely and friendly, knew just when to stop and chat and when to leave us alone. The cusine, I'm not calling it food, was an absolute taste sensation and beautifully presented. We cleaned our plates! The chef clearly loves her job and it shows (not only, by his own admission, on the waiter's waistline). Highly recommended, shame we can't visit more often.

We celebrated out anniversary evening here, and were a bit surprised to be the only customers! Really high quality food, and excellent service (well, there was only two of us being served!).Not the cheapest, bust possibly the best in Settle. well layed out and tasteful decor.

Having tried most of the restaurants in the Settle / Skipton area, this is our very favourite. The food (each course) and service are consistently excellent. A real treat and a very special little house! Not pretentious, welcoming and intimate - beautiful food.
