Little Elephant Thai Restaurant in Eastbourne

I have been In this nice little restaurant yesterday, with my husband and my cousin, for the first time. Me and my husband are both vegan and we were very surprised from the vegan choice available (there is a specific part of the menu for us). We had tofu with peanut sauce for starter, I had vegan green Thai curry and my husband had the stir fry mix veg for mains. I think it was the best green Thai curry I have ever had (considering my pre-vegan life too). The waitress and the waiters were very polite and kind. We really enjoyed our dinner and the fact that you can book online through their website is really helpful. We will be back! Thank you!

Stunning food and the loveliest waitress ever! My friend and I are both vegan and she’s gf as well but we both felt super comfortable eating here because of the detailed allergen menu for both food and drinks! We had so much to choose from, very reasonably priced and super delicious too! We had the Tofu Pad Thai and Tofu Sweet & Sour. Thank you for taking such good care of us!

Excellent had a wonderful tofu pad thai service excellent very pleasant staff atmosphere very friendly next best thing to actually going to Thailand !

The restaurant kept changing the delivery hour even if the delivery courier was there. The portions were small. The Tom Yum soup was nothing to do with what I had in mind. The noodles were rather sweet and weren’t what we expected at all. I think the only nice ones where the stir fry with the rice. We will not be ordering again.

I had a pad thai, my favourite, and it was very distinctive - big, full flavours, really interesting to eat. Very lovely staff, good wine - looking forward to my next visit 🙂

Food always consistently good wether take away or dining in

We have eaten here before on a visit to Eastbourne. Once aain we really enjoyed our dinner. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the quality of food was good, the place was very busy (Saturday night)

The restaurant, as the name suggests, is small and charming. The staff is kind, smiling and ready to recommend the most suitable dishes for the customer's requests. The menu is very large and varied; we got Lamb Shank Massaman Curry and Pad Kee Mao with prawns, both delicious. The restaurant satisfied us!

We went to the Little Elephant on Monday to have dinner. I happened to find this place online and decided to give it a try. 5 of us had a lovely time there as the food was good and the staff were nice. We went on a Monday evening so the restaurant was quiet but it was fine for us. We enjoyed all the dishes we had especially the soups. Tom Yum soup with prawns and Tom kha with prawns. The food tastes fresh and delicious. My friend and I particularly enjoyed the Jasmine flower tea, it smells so nice and looks so pretty in a glass tea pot.

maybe make it a bit clearer that the vegetable spring rolls are not vegetarian. unfortunately didn’t read molluscs/wasn’t aware what is was and ate 1, afraid others will make the same mistake.

I booked a table for lunch online, nice and easy. We were greeted and offered a table right away when we entered. The restaurant is nicely decorated, looks clean as well. Great to have WiFi details on the table. Unfortunately, the chairs are really uncomfortable, definitely need replacing. As you’re sat down there’s a hard wooden bar digging in the back of your legs (I’m average height for a woman, apparently only suitable if you’re 6 ft tall and over). We ordered duck spring rolls, which were very tasty and had a good amount of duck in them, and chicken satay starter too, that was also very nice, could have done with more satay sauce though, there was barely enough for 2 skewers. We also had bbq ribs, they were the best ribs I have ever had in a restaurant, in the U.K. and in Thailand as well. Perfect flavour and not just barely meat on bones for a change. Hubby had the Tom Yum soup, rather a lot of mushrooms but the chicken was good and the right amount of heat with a lovely flavour. I ordered Thai crackers to go as well, couldn’t resist. Service was good, check back too. Unfortunately, the wine is extremely expensive. Beer was average for a restaurant. I would definitely love to have food from this restaurant again, but more likely to spend less on a takeaway, as sitting was so uncomfortable, on the border of painful even.

As per usual amazing tasty food, relaxed atmosphere.

Nice food, reasonably priced, quiet (no background music), pleasant decor, but what made it stand out for us was the exceptional service. The waiter made helpful suggestions, including one that would cost less. The chef came out as we were leaving to express concern that I'd found a tiny bit of gristle in the meat and left it on the plate - I'd not even mentioned it but he apologised and had reduced the bill, unprompted. I forgot something on leaving and the waiter hurried down the street to remind me. We aren't often in Eastbourne but will definitely come again when we are.

Love this place. Delicious, good quality food with a lovely friendly welcome. I enjoy lunch and dinner here. Such a gem of eastbourne. You are very lucky.

Fantastic food. A little overpriced.

more like a takeaway place then a restaurant. The menu is also very unclear and the food didn't taste nearly as good as it costs! All staff was miserable But if your looking for an average thai restaurant which is overly priced, this is the place.

This was an absolutely wonderful restaurant. The food was incredible, they had a Gluten free menu at the back which had a great variety, and it tasted divine! thank you so much, we will definitely be coming back!

Such a shame, my favourite place to get food but now the second time they have messed up my order. This time sending Thai curry without rice, meaning my dinner consists of 4/5 prawns and some sauce. They apologised and offered a refund. It took two phone calls and a lot of fuss to get them to send another delivery driver. As a business you have to rectify things. So disappointed and left thinking about not using them again!

Great vegan options and very tasty

Best Thai in Eastbourne and tasted as good as it does in the restaurant

The lime and chilli seabass, wow! The whole dish was perfect. The dressing was so good and the veg was perfectly cooked. Perfect too if you want low fat healthy dish. I am from Brighton, but will be coming back for this dish again. Not a regular reviewer, but felt this deserved it.

Lovely find for authentic Thai food. The restaurant is faily basic inside but the servers were friendly and helpful. The vegetarian options were very good and we orders a few of the specials. The food came out fast and was tasty. The temperature was very hot inside for some reason but apart from that will return. It's also disabled friendly and I feel its very inclusive and I had no issues with my service dog.

Delicious food but the estimated delivery time kept changing!

Overpriced. Was expecting it to be spectacular but was just ok.

I am a little under the weather so I ordered my favourite comfort food, vegetable spring rolls and chicken peanut satay from little elephant. I am very impressed and very happy! food not greasy, has a homemade feel to it. taste 10/10 and delivery time was no less than 20 minutes. Thank you little elephant !! not to mention the cute little note inside the package.

Ordered a take away one evening when visiting Eastbourne - chicken pad Thai. It arrived really hot and was so so tasty. Also a very decent potion. Loved it.

Meal for 2, very reasonable prices. Food was fantastic, lovely friendly host & great atmosphere. Will definitely be back !

However, although we put a note to call when outside, the driver left the food out in the open outside our reception building without informing us about it. The reception staff found it and held onto it for us and informed us that it was left outside. After we picked up our food from reception, we received a text from the driver that they were waiting outside.

Such a great place with so many good vegan options! Nice owners, great and fast service. The starters came fast and hot! The mains are so tasty! The tofu is super fluffy and soaks in all the sauce and flavours. Beers for 4£ are a steal! We finished with the coconut sticky rice with mango. Can’t recommend this place enough. Would come back any time ♥️

the driver went to another street, I ordered food home and I had to go out to the main street to look for the driver. because of this, the driver was late and the food was colder

Food was great - slightly disappointed as we ordered from multiple locations to feed an awkward family, ordered around 90 minutes before the time we wanted it to arrive but it was later than the other two deliveries arranged for 7pm - but apart from that minor issue it was really good food.

Authentic Thai food, with a variety in the menu. Atmosphere was good. Sharing platter was a little too small for sharing purpose, price wise. Main course was good portion size.

Ordered a takeaway but very was in very small containers. Phones to ask why and young lady on the phone could not answer why and just put the phone down on me then spoke to a manger with even bigger attitude. Do not order from here

Great food. My only complaint is with ordering two sauce items. The pots are small and the charge is around £2.99 per pot. The price is fine ... BUT not when one is barely half full. Please do better next time because we love your food and service.

We have previously eaten here more than once and enjoyed our meal. However we went last night and wish we hadn't. The servers/waiters appeared very unethusiastic and the food - starters bland. I actually commented to the waiter that the satay sauce appeared watered down as it was thin in texture and had no flavour. The waiter advised he would tell the kitchen. There was no presentation like you see in the pictures and the evening was generally disappointing. The duck and green curry were better so we paid our bill in full. However we will not return as there are other restaurants that are better.

We came here on a Saturday evening. The service was really slow, to be fair the restaurant was busy. The starters were great, but the mains were underwhelming. The pad Thai had broccoli, cauliflower and chopped green beans in which makes me feel like this could have been a frozen vegetable mix. Atmosphere was kind of strange, music was very quiet so the entire place felt quiet and a bit off.

We were in Eastbourne for the tennis and our arrangement for the evening was cancelled but we were delighted to find this fantastic Thai Restaurant having looked online for places to eat. It far exceeded our expectations. We had one of the set meals for two - it was all absolutely delicious and a perfect quantity. The service was great and very friendly. Will definitely book for our trip next year.

missing a beer, the duck spring rolls only 2 were very small and the hoising sauce was watered down. Not worth the money. spent £44 and left hungry

Portions were smaller than i expected and it was quite expensive but it was extremely good so overall, pricey but value for money.

Absolutely incredible Thai food. Service was decent and a nice atmosphere. The menu had a lot to choose from but we ended up ordering the set menus. A little bit pricey in some areas, but it is what you get. The food was exceptional with great flavours and would recommend this place to anyone who wants excellent Thai food in the heart of Eastbourne.

I bought the Vegan Panang Curry with Tofu, with Coconut Rice, and the Vegan Classic Pad Thai with Tofu. The rice didn't taste like coconut, it was nice and fluffy though. Not too dry. The Pad Thai was odd. I wasn't sure if I liked it, until I realized they put the peanut to one side. Spreading that over it, made it delicious. It is however pretty dry, you may need something to moisten it. The panang, is delicious. One of the nicest curries I've ever tasted. Tofu is okay. The only complaint I have about both is the massive carrots chunks? Might not be carrot, I can't tell, but they taste like carrot to me. These are bigger than the tofu. Still, I can recommend it as a vegan. It's expensive though.

Disgusting service. Food late and cold. Said it was Just Eat problem but it was not as the driver was at the restaurant for ages. And the food still turned up cold. I phoned them after my order to add prawn crackers. They did not honour this even as a gesture of good will. Disgusting. I suggest that if you can not deliver. Do not offer a delivery service. And do not blame just eat when we can see when the driver is at the restaurant.

The food and service in this restaurant is just wonderful. We have eaten there twice but we intend to return as long as this family owned restaurant continues to produce such fresh and tasty dishes. There are so many things we wish to try and the people who work there are so pleasant and helpful. They told us they could adjust the degree of a dish if it was too hot for us. There was no need as it was perfect.

You must try it! The people working in it are soooo kind!

A cosy family run restaurant that creates the most amazing dishes. Many using freshly grown vegetables from their own garden. The staff are both friendly and professional. GO VISIT!!

I visited 4/5 years ago and it was nice and quite authentic but when visiting recently, I was really disappointed. The food was alright but the service was bad: grumpy waitresses in tracksuit, dumping cutlery in the middle of the table, constant delivery people by our table, poor choice of music…It might as well just be a takeaway.

We normally go to the Thai Marina, which is my favourite outside of Thailand. We chose this on spec as we were short of time…and we were not disappointed. We each chose a bento box which were well stocked and very tasty….excellent value…we will return.

Only had takeaway so far but food was delicious both times! Their pad Thai is incredible but our favourite is the pineapple rice.

Inflated prices and reduced quantity left a bad taste: a £14.50 prawn pad Thai (£13.50 on site menu) had just 4 prawns! Insulting. It's such a shame as I'm sure if we ate at the restaurant, as we have in the past, they wouldn't dare serve so light. The food quality was therefore difficult to judge, disappointed.
