We stopped here on a whim to pick up some bread for dinner. (Bread and butter and a glass of wine being a favorite supper for hungry travelers when we are tired of going out to dinner.) Being indecisive, we bought a half loaf of both the white sourdough and the whole wheat sourdough. Both were amazing loaves! Turns out, that according to Eater London, this is one of London’s best bakeries. They serve coffee from a window and while I didn’t order any, it’s probably pretty great too.

A gem of a French bakery in London. Delicious pastries and cappuccino. Highly recommend! The only downside is no seating.

I walked from Victoria to the Pimlico branch on Sunday to try one of their famous croissants. Sadly when I arrived at 10.45 they were all sold out, so I opted for a pain au chocolat and a cappuccino instead. The pastry looked fantastic and was full of beautiful layers. It was flakey, buttery and delicious and the coffee tasted perfect - one of the better ones that I’ve had recently in London. I shall definitely return to one of their branches to try a croissant at some point.

I recently visited this coffee shop and tried the Kouign Amann. I was surprised to find this pastry outside of Brittany. It looked a bit weird, folded as it's not how it's served in France but anyhow. The dough was crisp on the outside but then it was disappointing. Whilst it had nice layering below, it lacked the butter and sugar that usually blends/caramelises, which is the distinct feature of the Kouign Amann. Overall their version fo the Kouign Amann is a nice croissant with caramelised sugar on the outside.

Quedó muy impresionado con este restaurante. La comida era gorgoeus. Nuestra camarera, Clio era muy amable y sonriente, lo que realmente hizo la experiencia

I’ve had two incredibly disappointing experiences at La Rueda on Clapham High Street, and I feel compelled to warn others. The first time I went with my family for dinner, the staff lied about which wines were available, clearly trying to upsell us. They also brought us the wrong food (more expensive dishes we hadn’t ordered) and then added extra items to our bill, luckily we caught this before paying. A few weeks later, I gave them another chance and went with friends on a Monday specifically for their 50% off food deal, which was still advertised on their website and was confirmed to me when I called ahead. When the bill came, there was no discount. The waiter flatly refused to honour it, claiming the deal had ended days before, despite it still being actively promoted. (It is still live on their website). Frankly this place feels like it deliberately tries to rip customers off. Twice now they’ve tried to overcharge me, and the service has been dismissive at best. As a local resident, I’m really disappointed, I would strongly advise people to avoid this place unless you want to be scammed. Plenty of other great spots in Clapham, La Rueda is definitely not one of them.

the food was alright, not as nice as when we visited the restaurant - and fortunately I like Tarka Dahl as I received this with my Biriyani rice instead of a Biriyani curry. didn’t work as well though.
