There were plenty of friendly helpful staff and we were served really quickly. We both really enjoyed our starters. My chicken strips were really big and juicy and reminded me of what the Hermy chicken used to be like at the Hermitage in Acle.

Nice pub, mostly used by boating people off the broads. Fish and chips are excellent, as are the pizzas. I ordered a sausage for my dog but when it came it was uncooked straight from the fridge! Luckily I managed to grab it from him before he ate it. Would have given 5 stars except for the sausage incident.

Great pub with a nice range of food, drinks, and caters really well for allergens too (coeliac friendly for my wife!). Also, if you accidentally leave your sunglasses behind on your table on the last night of your holiday, and then drive 200 miles home, they will very nicely - and with a great deal of bubble-wrap - post them back to you. Thanks for a great meal and being lovely people :)

Good beer well kept (and lots of variety), copious food (decent pub grub). Looks recently refurbished. Our serving of whitebait for a "nibble" would have done main course for two. Fried chicken was tasty. Pizza toppings good though base a little so so. Recommended. Might want to park at the head of the dyke, not much from for manoeuvring a large bot.

Popped in to the Lion Inn yesterday on a walk as was told it served a few ales. Wasn't disappointed, at least 15 ales/beers and plenty of gin for my girlfriend to try too. A quick pint turned into near four hours of drinking and got a cheeky roast dinner too, which was really nice. Staff were really friendly, and the place was quite popular with a constant flow of people popping in. Will pop in again, may be for the beer festival, end of month 😎

The pub is a great destination lovely choice of beers and very welcoming staff. So we were sadly disapointed with the food or rather our choices didn't live up to expectations. The pie pastry was dry and hard maybe cooked too long? The special pulled pork pizzas were far from special looked like mass pruduced bought in products containing the tiniest amount of pulled pork which may have been just as well as the pork had clearly been raised on fish meal which you could taste in the meat. Like I said the pub and staff were all lovely maybe we chose badly maybe the chef was off that day but we had a disapointing meal and would not make us want to rush back.

Sadly the new trendy way of presenting a roast dinner is creating a problem for the plated food. Piled beef and Yorkshire pudding soak roast potatoes to be soft. Our food was luke warm at best and the whitebait starters were just mush. They should be crisp and individual instead of a soggy mass. Prices of food and drink were okay but not value for money at 40.00 per head. Such a waste of a beautiful setting and building, this time.

The portions are very generous, we had a lot of food and it was incredibly filling. Very good to go to if you're boating on the Norfolk Broads as they have a mooring place which is free from 10am to 4pm, mooring after that only costs £7.50 which is fair considering you get to stay overnight.
