Excellent fish and chips. Freshly cooked. Chips lovely, not too greasy. The curry sauce and mushy peas were excellent. Will definitely return here.

Thought we would try this Lingwood Fish & Chip shop as within moderate driving distance. The shop looks smart and interesting with quite a modern frontage and interior. The listings of available fish clearly displayed on the wall but we were told “we don’t sell that any more as it’s too expensive”……..ok, so 2nd choice……..” We don’t sell that any more as it’s too expensive” ‘Ok, so we won’t have fish, just a portion of chips please’ These were served and wrapped promptly and we decided to sample immediately, they were piping hot but limp and soggy - - a handful of good size chips and an abundance of minuscule soggy ‘bits’ Terrible! Why go to all the expense of creating a stylish shop if they won’t supply popular fish as they deem customers can’t afford it and they can’t even cook a good serving of chips! This was VERY POOR, Tried it once but won’t be bothering again!

Wonderful chippy the way it should be. Friendly happy staff. Lovely food and fair on price. Always go here and would highly recommend.

Fantastic fish and chips, excellent service. I use them at least once a week and the quality is consistently very good. The portions are very generous and the size of the fish I can only describe as Large!

Not used this place in a while but how things have changed. Sausage and chips ordered, walked home unwrapped and wow such a small portion of chips, used to be loads but not anymore. £5.50 which I’m ok with as everything has gone up but the amount of chips I received really was a joke. Hopefully a one off.

Tried this chippy for the first time today as our local blofield chippy was closed. Ordered pie and chips and cod and chips. When I got home in blofield which only takes a 5-10 min drive the chips with the pie were stone cold but the chips with the cod were hot? The batter on the cod was almost white and the cod was barely cooked!! A £14 waste. Will never return

Basically my order was taken, not busy in the shop, waited 30 mins and then asked what how long as everyone including 5 customers after me we served and long gone. I was told by the server that he was new and had made a mistake and then he told me he was going to retire tomorrow, not funny and It was a limp sorry. I said I appreciate we all make mistakes but he could have come and explained. When I got home my fish tasted weir, batter tasted of ale and pepper, so just ate the chips. My partner's chicken was over cooked. My first visit, very disappointed and I won't be going back.

Undercooked batter on fish Flattest piece of cod I think I’ve ever had , swimming in grease , one side totally stuck to the paper couldn’t eat any of the batter as it was clearly undercooked and really thick . Only chip shop in local area other than Acle so they have a captive crowd . Won’t go back .

Pre pandemic my family would come and visit just for this chip shop. They have always given large portions for the price and the chips are amazing. Without doubt my favourite chip shop I've ever known.Staff are fast efficent and serve with a smile and the place is spotless. Since the pandemic they have put in place sensible guidelines to keep you safe whilst getting your food.

They have lovely staff and great food, which come in really generous portions. All of my friends and family love coming here.

As above, great food can’t be faulted. My only gripe was I was queuing outside and it’s not clear of process in place, I was asked to walk out of the shop an through the other door after I’d been waiting outside for 10 minutes, I politely said that it was confusing and not clear what’s customers should do. The person then pointed to a sign said walk in orders here and phone orders there. I tried to explain that it’s not clear from outside because of posters in the window. There was a debate between the person serving and cooking over the size of a piece of Cod, I ordered a large and received this piece of Cod it was no way a large, size and weight from last time I was at the chippy was substantially smaller, almost like a punishment for politely informing about the signage. Somewhat disappointed.

I was really hoping for good things when Lingwood Chip Shop got renovated. I have lived in and out of the village for over 30 years and the previous owners always provided a decent meal. However this new set up, offering a more substantial menu, needs to list a few more items...firstly either overcooked dry chips or undercooked greasy chips. The chip size portions are admittedly always on the generous side but please don’t be fooled as you’ll end up throwing most of them in the bin. The most important thing which should be added to the menu is ‘a long wait’. Turn up at any time of the day and you will always be provided with this offering whether you like it or not. Guaranteed half hour wait.!The staff always look like they’ve been slapped around the face by the fish and don’t like being there, it’s not hard to smile whilst at work or just acknowledge the customers. Although this may be because they don’t want to offer a false sense of security to punters who are woefully unaware they’ll be waiting for most of the day for their food.Please Lingwood...sort yourselves out.! I’ve now given you a chance (at least 3 or so years since you’ve opened) before I provided a review but you just don’t change.!I’ve resorted to driving to Blofield Chip Shop as I can get there and back before you would have served me and I always get a consistently good meal.

Superb, friendly service. The best chips ever! Pizzas great. Batter on the haddock was overdone but on the cod, perfect. Would recommend.

Love this very well run chippy. Never had a bad meal 😊 Very good chips, nicely browned but fluffy inside. Fresh fish and lovely batter.

We are very fortunate to live locally and have the benefit of this being our local chippy ... we have a standard order of three large cod, medium chips and two mushy peas. Always fresh, always delicious, and the staff are great too. I highly recommend it.

Had many visits here now as it has become my local since moving to the village, always friendly and polite, every time I have cod it’s really lovely nice and white fish and really tasty! Chips are always good and get plenty!

As a visitor to the area I decided to pop into Lingwood for some fish and chips. The food was quite nice. I apparently didn't see the sign that said to ask for salt and vinegar so was disappointed not to get any. Not sure why the staff can't just ask if you want some? Never come across a fish and chip shop that doesn't!The girl who served me wasn't particularly friendly and left me feeling like I was an inconvenience as Id interrupted her chat with friends to buy some chips. Because of this I didn't go back again during my trip.

Visited last summer and must have been ok as we wouldn't have come back ?No large haddock available so had to settle for the regular, was the size of 2 fish fingers, so glad there isn't a small option !After seeing the sign 'ask for salt and vinegar' last time, which we did and it wasn't added to our order, made the point of asking this time and would you believe was missed off again !Staff seemed more intetested in drinking coke straight from the can in full view of the customers and trying to clean down to get an early finish, the shop was not due to close for another 50 minutes so maybe a tad early,Maybe think about increasing your insectacutors, or replacing the lamps in them, as we noticed on both visits the quantities of flies.

Visited here today ordered a large lunch for family workforce!...Go here every Friday lunch but not no moreOrdered scampi and chips twice along with other items fish sausages etc more chips bread rolls..After getting back 15 mins drive the scampi orderedDidn’t have any chips with them! We rang to complain and was told to come back for them out of good jest we thought they would honour them but clearly wanted more money!!!!!So unfortunately left in discust!... keep ya chips we go elsewhere!

As being local have been coming here regular and food is always very tasty and cooked perfectly and not too greasy, Lovely good quality fish, staff are Lovely too, keep up the good work guys & girls.

Very clean premises with well laid out menu - good selection of options. Fish and chips average - lots of chips with green bits or discoloured potato bits in our takeaway. Fish and batter ok. Bit disappointed ☹️

Great range of food, catering for numerous needs- myself being vegetarian. Lovely refurbished building, looking pleasant and clean with parking and seating area. Reasonable prices, lovely customer service, serving a variety of things from the general fish+chips, to chicken nuggets and pizzas. Being a local, i used to travel further for my fish+chips, however with the recent changes made to the restaurant i am lucky to have this chippy so local.

As visitors to the village, felt as though everyone else in the shop where regulars/localsFood good although a bit of a wait, don't forget to ask for salt and vinegar as it doesn't come as standard and think it was missed from our order, but think this was a regional thing as breadcakes were baps/barms ???Would come back again, so obviously more than acceptable.

Quick service, cooked to order and decent portions. Above average quality for the area, and worth a detour. Recommended.

Okay, just a quickie ! Everybody loves fish and chips but the dish has somewhat become stale, however, this fish and chip shop is well presented, very modern, pristinely clean and produced some of the best cod and chips I have had in a while. Large Cod means you get a huge fillet of cod battered in crisp golden batter ! The chips were also excellent. The staff were friendly and the food reminded me of how fish and chips were a long time ago, fresh, not greasy and cooked to a high standard.

Best local chip shop I've been to. Very welcoming, and even the younger members of staff have a good grasp on customer service even on a busy night. Highly recommend their pizza, and the chips are naughty goodness as always! Not bad prices and good menu range.

Portion size does depend on you serves you, sometimes for a regular chips you get a very small size then other times you get loads.

There's bound to be a queue on a Friday night, its tradition to have fish & chips on a Friday. The fish is excellent cooked just right, fish was moist and delicious, chips were just right. Staff was friendly and efficient.

Have had quite a few fish and chips from Lingwood Chippy so thought it was time to leave a review. To date we have never had a bad meal from here. We only have cod and chips and chicken and mushroom pie, chips and mushy pease but every time is fantastic. Cod is always fresh and chunky, chips are always delicious and plenty of them. Always our first port of call for fish and chip supper on a Friday. Queue can be quite long Friday evening but always worth the wait!

Really disappointed, ordered plaice and chips, two cod tails and two sausages. The all fish was dry and over cooked, the fish was clearly frozen it was horrible, really wished we hadn't bothered. There was a sign also saying that their butchers sausages had sold out so we're using normal chip shop sausages, well not sure which ones they were using either they were tasteless too. Ended up throwing all away after a few mouthfuls, complete waste of £15quid. We did really like the cans of bitter shandy though. Will not be going back.

Rang through an order and my GF Haddock was excellent. Lovely staff, fasts service.Highly recommended.

We have had a few problems with the chippy which credit to Andy he rectified on the next visit but I would put it down to teething problems whilst they were getting started. We have been back since, all 4 meals were great, chips were cooked how they should none of this mushy pale white rubbish other chippys serve. Fish was good and sausages were not the cheap sort like others.

Great fish and chips and now pizza as well! Always perfectly cooked with friendly service too. Good prices and very tasty! Our only problem is we tempted to pop in for food a bit too often!! Great to have a decent local chippy- thankyou!

Recently renovated and upgraded, the best "chippy" around. Portion sizes are generous and the fish is cooked to perfection.

I visited last Friday evening and ordered battered cod and chips for my husband and gluten free cod for myself. We were very impressed, very tasty, nicely cooked and above all not greasy! My gluten free batter was superb, very light and crispy, and the service was great with a short wait for my special order. Thank you.

Ordered scampi, chicken leg in batter, chips and curry sauce last night. Staff friendly and welcoming, even making time for "banter" whilst we waited for the food to be cooked fresh.

This is my local 'chippy' and had high hopes after the renovation and refurbishment but unfortunately the problem here is inconsistency. The quality of the fish and the chips and the cooking of them is never the same twice. When it's your local and repeat visits are therefore inevitable you need to know that you're always going to get a well cooked quality piece of fish, unfortunately this is not the case.

Why is the fish always over cooked. The chef can see it's over cooking as the batter is dark brown when it should be golden brown. Chips are shriveled and over cooked. Out of a portion of chips less than half is edible. Fish is rubbery and dry from over cooking. The chef is not a quality cook and needs some training. This is England and fish and chips must be cooked right otherwise it not our national dish. Cut down the chip portions and cook it right. Got to get the timings right.

The recently renovated chip shop is a must!lovely chips and pizzas made to order at competitive prices,staff always friendly and helpful.can be a queue sometimes but surely that tells you something about the food.....and after all we're English,we love a good queue!🍟

Waiting 35 minutes to get an order that was wrong. Mushy peas that may have been off and ran by a load of kids that haven't got a clue. Shall not be going back.

I live in Lingwood so I was very excited to hear that Lingwood chippy was getting a revamp! The food is delicious, fresh pizzas made right in front of you and the chips are to die for! Very friendly staff although there is always a bit of a wait but even with that said I would definitely recommend this place! Keep up the great work!!

Lovely fish and chips good portions and fresh fish. The service is always excellent even when they are very busy. The chippy is being extended currently by the slowest builders ever so expect a bit of a building site! This has not, however, affected the preparation and sale of food.

First day open since the rebuild, bigger premises, new equipment, extended menu. Lovely cod and chips but the meat feast pizza disgusting. The tomato base sauce very salty and the overall taste and quality of the freshly cooked pizza was most unpleasant. But it's early days; they have only just reopened a few hours ago.
