This is a fairly no frills restaurant, but clean and comfortable with good service. Not licenced but no corkage either, and there's an off-sales just 30-second walk away. Best of all is the food. Great flavours, good ingredients and well cooked. One of Perthshire's very best places for Indian subcontinent fare (Bangladeshi actually).

We had a takeaway meal from here while staying in the area for a few days. Quite a large menu so lots of choices. I had Chicken Pathia and my wife had the King Prawn Garlic Chilli. Both were very tasty and had right amount of spice. The meal was ready for collection at the right time. Would use again if in the area.

A real jewel. Just visiting the area and were locally advised about this small but quality restaurant. Lovely staff, great service (short order-to-table time) and a great meal. Thank-you

Was given table at the left of front door - asked to move as it was cold, was advised they were setting up other tables but could close the front door….no other customers at this point, so not a good start. Food was quite good, but no alcoholic drinks available, only told when we asked for a drink list. Out bottles of water was dumped on table, didn’t even pour it. One waitress, was extremely grumpy faced, never spoke, at one point had her arms folded on top of the main desk resting her head, doesn’t look welcoming or professional. Never offered desserts or tea/coffee, no conversation from staff. Grumpy girl, best to get rid….clearly has no real intention to work, walking type boots on, shirt sleeves hanging down over hands, doesn’t speak to anyone or even smile. Would never return to this place

I ordered the same as I always do.Lamb Dhansak. This is supposedly thickened with lentils, and usually it is.Tonight,it was more like a watery sweet and sour, with extra spices. Its never usually as spicy. Also Naan bread was alot smaller than usual. Was really looking forwards to it,as had been closed a few months I always felt Lime Tree was a cut above, but now just the same as rival takeaway Indian food.Meybe a different cook?Anyway, shall try other takeaways now,as consistency is always key for keeping customers.Pity,as I loved Lime Trees Dhansak.

Food delicious, extremely good value for money. My husband and we ordered starters ( the best mixed pakora I've had in years) ,I had lamb passanda, pilau rice and peshwari nan . My husband had chicken pakora, chicken bhuna, rice and peshwari nan . All this for £25 . We collected and had super friendly service . Quality of food fantastic. I say 'Asian' only because we Brits refer to 'Indian' restaurants when most such restaurants are run by and have chefs from Bangladesh.I grew up in this town but don't live here now so hadn't been to this restaurant. A hairdresser from next door came out to say hello and said that it was really good, so that bode well. And indeed it was. Very nice quality across a range of dishes. I think empty plates at the end. There were a couple of other tables taken and several takeaway visits.BYOB policy keeps cost down and means you can drink of your own choice.Really impressed.I hope local people support this place.

We looked at recent reviews and thought it was worth the drive to pick up a takeaway, we should have stayed home and sniffed the fuel used to get there.3 unidentifiable containers of oily soggy veg (most of the veg seemed to be from the freezer or a tin) that tasted soggy and oily. The best was the Jalfrezi, we assume that the heat killed off some taste buds.Hopefully for future customers it was a rare blip but I doubt we'll return to find out.

Have been to the Lime tree several times over the years for sit down and take away and have never had a problem with the standard of food. Went for a sit down last night it was very busy with take away and after an hour only the starter had been served. I told the waiter we would only wait 5 more minutes for the mains. He hid in the kitchen and have no indication of how long the meals would be. We paid for drinks and starters and left. This is not the first time the service has been very slow, it will be the last. Take away only from now on.

Went for a meal tonight at 6pm and the food was excellent but the seating was not good. ( in fairness I should have asked to move tables ) but it was crazy busy with takeaway and the people waiting are almost standing over you if seated by the window. There were 2 females standing inches away from our table. Needs better organised, or seat diners further into the restaurant. I repeat, food was excellent.

We have been enjoying Lime Tree take away meals for the last year and half since moving in the area. The meals used to be outstanding, however, in the last 2-3 months the quality (poor, burnt starters, stale naan) and consistency (very random for the same orders) has gone down hill. And last night's take away was simply unedible. My husband's pathia was simply awful and was nowhere near the flavours he used to have when orderig there. The rest of the order was dry and burnt. Massive diasppointment as we used to love to go there for our curries. A great shame.

The Lime Tree Indian restaurant serves Indian cuisine of the highest quality and is a must for any lover of curry. This is without doubt one of the best curries I have ever tasted which is a bold statement given the amount of Indian restaurants I have visited in my lifetime. The food was so good that I found myself asking if the chef would ever consider giving cooking lessons! The waiting staff are attentive and very friendly which makes for an even better dining experience. The owners are happy to make you feel welcome and happy to chat with you as if you were an old friend adding to the experience. The restaurant allows you to bring your own drinks which can be purchased from the local shop located just across the road but soft drinks can be purchased from the bar in the restaurant should you choose to. The starters are lovely and I can happily recommend the mixed pakora. For my main I ordered the Vindaloo which was spiced perfectly and the mix of herbs gave it a sublime taste. My partner had the lamb Biryani which I stole a taste of and it was beautiful too. The restaurant also offers a meal deal between 5pm and 8pm on Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday and Sunday which means you can have a starter and a main with rice for only £8.95 per person. Let me assure you, this is a great deal for a curry of this quality. If you are ever in the area then this restaurant is a must and dare I say worth travelling out of your way for. I give this restaurant top marks all the way with no reservations.

Esta fue la peor comida para llevar que he tenido. Tuve una comida de vegetales, y mi marido tenía un plato de carne. Ambas eran increíbles no sabor auténtico, y aguada.

We as a family of 3 living locally have used the Lime tree at least twice a month for the last 2 years at least . The orders are always taken in a friendly manner on the phone & they are always spot on with the time it will be ready to collect , usually 25 minutes unless exceptionally busy . The menu is extensive, but we are fairly unadventurous and normally have the same 3 dishes . They are cooked well , but just occasionally we have received a meal that is slightly oilier , sauce thinner & less meat... but that is the exception to the rule , on the whole we are really happy with the food .

The restaurant has an extensive menu at very reasonable prices. To begin we had the mixed starters for 2 which were really tasty and a good sized portions. Main courses were excellent and the service quick and efficient. We went mid week and apart from a carry out order we were the only customers which was a great shame as it is well worth a visit. The restaurant does not have an alcohol licence but the staff are very willing to open bottles and provide glasses for your own drink - keeps the price very reasonable.

Having been spoiled by the vast number of great curry houses of London and Edinburgh I was incredibly surprised by this quaint Indian in our new village. Every time we go the food is sensational. The starters are plentiful and the mains are full of flavor. My personal favourite is the sharing starter platter and chicken karachi. Prices are attractive and the hospitality is far beyond any other restaurant I've been to - with the waiters opening the door for you when you leave being a personal highlight of mine.
