We visited today. We usually use Mad Hatters Tea Room but it was full. So we headed across the road to Lillies Lavander Hat and we were super surprised at how great the little place is! The breakfast is epic! The food is very good quality- the sausage in particular was very, very good quality and tasted so good!! Often cafes scrimp on sausage and bacon but that is not the case here! They also do a proper flat white which is great because often I have an issue finding smaller places that actually do proper flat whites so this is another win for this little place! So, if you want a great breakfast and a proper flat white. Make sure you visit this place!! Don’t be a sheep and just go to the other place across the road! Let’s support our other small businesses! If you don’t use them, you’ll lose them!

Named after the owners' granddaughter, Lily's is all about giving a friendly welcome and making sure their customers leave more than satisfied. If there was a better cafe in the area we'd have found it by now but for us there simply isn't, so this has become not just our regular brunch stop but also a favourite place for stocking up on (baked in-store) cake and ginger flapjack (half a dozen other varieties of flapjack are always available), as well as meat or fish pies, also freshly made in-store, on a Wednesday. In colder months, freshly made soup and a cheese scone are a favourite lunch. All of Lily's is bijou...in the best possible way. The simple but cosy cafe seats 10 max indoors and another 8 or so outdoors (weather permitting) and owner/chef Julie and her team perform minor miracles in a very compact kitchen. Likewise, what husband Alan achieves in the rest of the establishment is equally impressive, keeping the various counters and shelves stocked with fruit, veg, meat, dairy, bread, real dairy ice-creams (in a cone or tub), tinned and dried goods, newspapers and a variety of household essentials. Warning 1 - Julie serves great, freshly cooked food as fast as she can, so you may have a little wait when they're at their busiest but it'll be worth it, and you'll probably make friends with other regulars in the meantime. Warning 2 - Lily's closes at 1pm on a Saturday and Sunday, 4pm on weekdays! Top-tip - If you like sautéed potatoes but can't quite manage the large breakfast, ask for them as an extra with the standard breakfast.

Lily’s is a hidden gem. Came here with three friends after a circular walk in Corby Glen. I will be back with my family or just myself. This is a beautiful shop and tiny tearooms. All homemade cakes and jams. Just incredibly good food and atmosphere and service.

As a boy I spent my formative years in Italy, and have in that time drunk many cappuccinos with my Motta Buondi cake that was fashionable in my very early youth, and we are talking 1950's! But over here in the UK where coffee houses have only in recent years become trendy places to sit and sip coffee, I can safely say that the cappuccino's that were served up in the Brucciani coffee houses in Leicester city centre were the benchmark, and have rarely have they in my experience been bettered, but then it was an Italian company. However, I can now say without fear of contradiction that I have quite by chance discovered a lady that makes a cappuccino not only every bit as good as that made by the late Brucciani's, but also every bit as good as what I had come to accept as the norm back home in Italy. I just hope that the lady continues to create these marvellous drinks and passes on her expertise to those who work for her in this little gem of an off the beaten track mini bistro/café/shop. Oh, and while I am on about the cappuccino, the "Full English" is well worth ordering too, all in all a lovely little homely business, with friendly staff who find no difficulty in giving you a ready smile and delivering courteous and doting table service, where nothing appears to be too much trouble for them. And before anyone thinks I may have a connection to the business, nothing could be further from the truth, I just appreciate good service and first-class food and drink, and this place delivers all of that in spades, all I ask is please do not change anything, most especially that cappuccino to die for!!

We've been visiting here twice a week for takeaway coffees and scones since the partial lifting of pandemic restrictions. Lately we have been able to sit out on the little verandah because the weather has improved sufficiently. Previously we took our coffees and snacks back to our car, parked across the road in the Market Square. This delightful little cafe/shop has been around for decades and is manned by shifts of friendly ladies working from 5.30am. Everything is available here from breakfasts, hot meals, snacks, delicious homemade cakes & scones to a variety of ice creams & hot & cold drinks. There are even special ice cream treats for dogs! My husband & l have noticed that many of the local residents drop off lists of their requirements to be collected later in the day. Special orders for cakes & goodies are filled too. The two of us have also noticed that this little business is also popular with groups of cyclists riding through the village. It's a regular stop-off point for them as well. There is also a toilet here and a small area of indoor seating ready for when the current pandemic regulations are further lifted. We thoroughly recommend Lily's Lavender Hut. Do try it, you won't be disappointed.

We popped in for coffee and cake and we sat outside as it was a glorious day enjoying the sun and village life. We tried the triple chocolate brownie and it was undoubtedly the best brownie I have ever tasted and good coffee too. Excellent and friendly service and the shop is full of quality local produce. We will definitely be coming back.

Enjoyed a fantastic ‘take away’ cafe stop on bike ride out from Sleaford. The staff are all very friendly, the coffee is good and the homemade bakery is fantastic. Had a cappuccino and freshly baked coconut tart! Currently only two people are allowed in at a time, but there is seating and a bin outside. Cyclist friendly! :)

The area of Corby Glen is charming with narrow lanes and rolling hills. Part of that charm is finding a place like Lily's lavender hut. The owner was very proud to tell me about the history of this rebuilt building. She was keen to show me a write-up in Lincolnshire Life magazine. She also provided me with a tea in a tea pot with a sugar and milk on a tray. The tiny shortbread biscuit added to the feel good. I had expected for my £1.50 to be throw a tea in a mug. Being able to sit outside in the sun and watch the village go about its business was a bonus. Free parking is available and its just across the road. I will certainly be back to see how the business progresses and for a little more than just a tea.

A return to the George after many family visits years ago. Unfortunately the service has declined. We were a table of 4 seated close to the bar. Many staff serving and pouring drinks but not one brought menus or looked in our direction for 20 minutes. I asked for menus but even this wasnt enough to warrant staff asking for our order or speaking to us to let us know they were busy. The George, once known for its impeccable service is no longer the George that I remember.
