Unique place! An absolute recommendation for anyone trying Cullen Skink in Cullen

Great food and very accommodating late in the day

First time visit and definitely not last. We came across this place on a visit to Cullen. From appearances we were unsure but thought we could have a cuppa, look and menu and if not great lunch somewhere else. The ladies in there were very welcoming and we all chose to eat. Having never had Cullen skink before 2 of us chose it and 3 had the festive topped chips (forgot to take a pic). We all tried each others and the food was fantastic! We all tried each others and the staff did a small portion of haggis for my nephew to try, which he loved!! Two of us only live 25 min away and this is now our firm favourite for when in the area. My nephew has also requested another visit when he comes up next.

I visited here about 3 times within a month for an excellent service and meal. A brunch, 9 items, toast & a glass of milk for under £10! The best value meal around, by far. A small establishment, dog friendly & a fine ambience. Thank you Lily's Kitchen.

We ate here by chance on our way to Sandend to walk our dogs. It is definitely a hidden gem and well worth a visit. The dogs were welcome too and were given treats which they loved. We had the Cullen skink and bacon , Brie and cranberry brown bread sandwiches. The bread was so fresh and delicious , bacon freshly cooked and lots of creamy Brie. The Cullen skink was tasty too Thank you for a delicious late lunch

Lily's was so nice. Perfect for a coffee date. It is quiet small, so you could hear other conversations, but other than that the small room doesn't matter.

Like others, Cullen Skink, perfect. The best I've ever tasted too. Pets positively encouraged by the staff, who integrate and offer treats, if owners accept. Just a lovely place to drop into. A little gem.

What a gem. Lovely food obviously prepared with care. Generous portions, hugely tasty and reasonably priced. All the years we’ve been going to Cullen and we’d overlooked Lilly’s kitchen so it’s now firmly on our map.

I’m lost of words on how delicious the Cullen soup was. I asked my husband to cook it but it wasn’t the same 😀. I highly recommend this restaurant. The staff was very helpful. We had the amazing Cullen Skink. It was so good, it's the first thing I tried to cook when getting home. Sadly my effort was nothing close to the delicious soup we had. If you are in Cullen or passing through, don't miss this delight!

We visited Cullen yesterday and i searched the internet for a dog friendly coffee shop. Saw the recommendations for Lily's Kitchen. Easy to find via satnav and close to the beach. A small establishment but very welcoming. Our Norweigian elkhound was spoilt with abit of sausage. Then stood in her water bowl and graciously let the lady clean it up! 🤭 I just had the cappucino which was lovely, my husband had a cheese and red onion sandwich which came with side salad and crisps. Well worth a visit. We said we would visit Cullen again on this trip so definately going to give the cullen skink a try! Smelt lovely.

On main street as head into village. Parked just outside. Nothing special to look at, but door open, signs outside saying dogs welcome and a water bowl. Just half a dozen tables and a relaxed quiet and comfortable welcome. Wanted an early lunch and read the Cullen skink was excellent. It truly was.....such a steaming bowl of hearty, tasty rich deliciousness, with thick cut brown from a fresh loaf bread and butter. My husband had full Scottish breakfast, the haggis was excellent and plentiful and fresh loaf of toasted white tiger bread, beans, hash, bacon the works. The owner gave our dog a really yummy snack too, like a doggy sausage. Would go back in a heart beat. Came to just under £15 with tea/coffee. Tipped up to £20 as so pleased with this place.

Cullen is well served for cafe's, and this was a great choice for us. We actually got the last table, we timed it well. When you are in Cullen, you have got to have Cullen Skink. It was a generous helping with oatcakes. It was a meal in itself. I was thankful of a good walk afterwards. Highly recommended and worth booking in advance if you can.

Great, friendly service. Their cullen skink was excellent (can see why it’s won awards). Sandwiches were great too. And very generous portions. And all at a very good price. Recommended.

Good food and traditional Cullen Skink but cash only

The cullen skink was wonderful as were the other meals my husband and friends ordered. Place is tiny and quaint, but that's part of what makes it special.

Go there and order literally the best homemade Cullen Skink ever! Honestly we both thought it was utterly awesome. And it's going to be even better now that this lovely little cafe is starting a unique nursery of little baby Skinks so that customers can buy one as a souvenir of their visit to the home of these adorable little furry creatures. 😉

We discovered this wee cafe today on a day out in Cullen. What a find! I’m not a sandwich fan, but the ham and mustard sandwich on brown bread was the best I’ve ever had. The bread was thick and delicious, and the ham was thickly layered within. It was accompanied by a small salad, coleslaw, and generous helping of crisps. My partner had the same, with salad added to his sandwich, and he too agreed that it was fabulous. We also had tea and coffee which was lovely. We can’t wait to go back and try something else from the menu. The cafe is disabled accessible, and dog friendly too. Full marks to the lady behind the counter who cooked and served with a smile and a friendly word to everyone.

We were up visiting family and stopped at Lily's for lunch on the way home as a family of 5. Two of the kids had cheese toasties, the rest of us had Cullen skink and I had a sandwich along with it. The Cullen skink was fantastic and the price was great too. The sandwich was stuffed with fillings and I struggled to eat it all. We'll definitely be back next time we're up

Food was good, cooked nicely and arrived in about 15 minutes. The tables were full most of the time we were in, so clearly a place to visit. Takeaway food and drinks available. Small cafe but worth it. Also a small selection of cakes

Wonderful place. We waited about 30 minutes (by choice) for a fresh batch of Cullen Skink and it was so flavorful. I also got the bacon, bree, and Cranberry panini and it was delicious! Dipped in the soup, it was even better. There isn't a lot of seating, but we seemed to time it right and got a seat right away for lunch. There is free parking right down the street. No bathroom, but the hotel across the street was so kind to let us run in before we got back on the road. I would definitely recommend dropping by for a bite!

Quirky cafe.. home feel and great breakfast.

This is a cosy cafe in every sense. Plus, dog friendly (my dog got a BIG treat too). Massive bowls of delicious home made soup. (Yes, I did have the Cullen skink; when in the World championship holder's premises, in the birthplace, it would be rude not too). They were massive bowls too. My husband had a 7 item breakfast, which he really enjoyed. I complemented my soup with a bacon, brie and cranberry toastie. So. Much. Bacon. Definitely would visit again. Highly recommended.

Had a great lunch here. Cullen skink was amazing. Sandwiches had plenty fillings and the loaf was so soft. Will definitely be back! No photos as we dived in so quickly!!!

I can only recommend coffee for take away. Drinking coffee surrounded by the burnt smell of oil is not pleasant.

We had takeaway sandwiches for 2 plus a Cullen Skink. Fantastic quality and value for money (huge portions), top quality lunch for 2 for less than £15. All prepared fresh with hot bacon in the BLT. Great lunch, couldn’t be faulted. Very dog friendly too and the owner went out of her way to give treats to our dog even though we had takeaway.

The staff in Lily's kitchen cafe are very friendly. Dogs are welcome and treated kindly. We had soup and sandwiches both of which were very nice. I had hoped to try their award winning Cullen Skink, but it wasn't available at the time. It's very claustrophobic with everything crammed into a very small space. Prices are reasonable and menu...for a cafe..is okay.

BEST CULLEN SKINK! Honestly, I know my Cullen Skink, and this is by far the best I've had. So good that we've already planned our next trip up. The chips were also superb. It's a wee little place, so to make sure you turn up early to get a table.

Dropped in for an all day breakfast worth every penny

Went for breakfast recently. 2 adults and 4 children. Taking over 2 tables. A lovely gentleman let some of the kids sit at his table with him. One of the ladies overheard the kids moaning there wasn't pancakes...left the shop and appeared with some bakers pancakes! Absolutely excellent and such a lovely thing to do. I had a warm cheese scone with butter and an orange juice. We spoke to a few dogs who came in as the cafe is dog friendly. There was even a wee dog who came in past on his daily walk, and waited for a treat from the ladies! Really couldn't fault our experience. Will definitely be back.

Food was absolutely amazing! I’ve ordered Cullen skink and it’s the best one I’ve ever had (and I had few)! Portion was massive with lots of fish. I had to share it with my husband. Toaster with Brie, bacon and cranberry was to die for! Again, so big I had to take half with me. Kids had chips beans and sausages, everything lovely! Husbyhad full breakfast, he said it was the best breakfast he ever had! Highly recommend!!!! Thank you ladies ❤️

Better than Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco! Lily’s home made Cullen Skink showed us why it’s award winning and why we drove to Cullen to taste it. The walk round the town afterwards just added to the feeling of well-being.

I didn’t know about the place until My visit and wouldn’t return. Poorly maintained with child’s drawings over the wall. House - printed certificates on the wall and a food hygiene certificate nicely for show when there are no hair nets in use, no hand washing evident - even after a trip to the local shop for supplies - and a can of coke in the kitchen for a slurp whenever required. Chipped crockery served to customers and poor hygiene throughout / especially when you have a look in the kitchen around the feet beside the dishwasher. The Cullen skink star attraction was a steady 6/10

A dog friendly cafe with beautiful food, great value, great service

Thanks to the girls who made us and the dog most welcome .For any Americans reading this post .This is the authentic place to go for Cullen skink. I had a lovely bowl of the famous Scottish dish of the Cullen skink and brown bread and butter .I also took a blueberry scone away with me to eat later this was also very nice indeed .

I’ve just spent two lovely days in Cullen and had food here. I was surprised to find some “choosy” reviews on here - must be some Londoners expecting to find Nobu on Park Lane wherever they go! 😭 If you’re a reasonable and down to earth person (as most people are), you’ll have the bestest time at this cafe’! I enjoyed breakfast here and connected with the ladies from the cafe’ and the locals. My dog was so happy coming here, she received tons of treats and cuddles! I’m going to miss the ladies and the cafe’ an awful lot and I seriously hope to be back! If you want to connect to the local community, make sure to come here!! thank you for your hospitality! It warmed our hearts!

Had two lovely breakfasts which you can pick how much or little you want. All food is cooked fresh so you might have a wee wait,but we didn't mind. Will definitely call again when in the area.

Since cooker broke and also my health issues. Like that place and exactly 💯 what I order. Will go back soon.
