Disappointed at the small portion of ribs (2). Food is lovely but can’t justify the cost for such small portions. Then made worse by being 30 minutes late

The restaurant was dead. The food was not authentic and clearly all from the freezer. I've never had tapas where the chef puts a side of mayonnaise or barbecue sauce with every dish. Clearly not confident in this food because Spanish food shouldn't need a condiment. The restaurant is beautiful (if you love pink and flowers) and the staff seem really friendly

Been here a few times now and never disappointed. We had a family meal last weekend and it was delicious. Best tapas Iv had in a long time and very reasonably priced. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and great cocktail list. Can also highly recommend the bottomless brunch that Iv had before with friends. Thank you lilac for a wonderful meal. Can’t wait to come back 😊

The food arrived cold as the delivery person got lost, not restaurant fault at all.

Food was below average. Felt like it wasn't cooked fresh to order. We had to ask the waitress several times for basic things like please can you take our order, can we see the dessert menu etc etc Very expensive for what you get. Would not recommend and will not visit again.

Went on a leaving Do. We let the owner help us with our choices and ended up with sharing boards to start followed by several dishes that we just shared as well. All the food was delicious. The atmosphere was perfect and we had a lovely time.

Delivery guy was awful, didn’t come to the door, we had nightwear on and he delivered at the top of the road left it on a wet floor in the rain, not happy. Rang restaurant they have asked you to issue a refund, please send the refund asap

We went to the lilac cottage for afternoon tapas but ended up having bottomless brunch with cocktails. Excellent value for money the food was great good service and nice atmosphere. Eating out on the back courtyard had a very nice Mediterranean feel to it. Thanks very much to everyone there.

Excellent meal and very good service.

Not as good as other times we have ordered. Burger did not have sauce or nachos but was still ok. Food arrived like warm so had to be reheated. This is the first time we have had a problem.

We have used Lilac Cottage many times over the years, this time, taking friends, the table was waiting, but the service very slow, we were asked for our menu choice before the drinks order was taken and even the menu arrived. The speaker music was too loud to talk. The young female singer did very well to entertain. The male waiter seemed lost as to where shared meals would be placed, we had to show and make space... overall, it was a poor night. Here's hoping it was a blip

Noticed delivery man pass my house then went back to his car he returned about 5 minutes later with food obviously food had gone cold had to microwave it food was good just didn’t like microwaving it

We had a seafood paella which was very nice but a very small serving for two people; it would have been about right for one. We assumed from the price that it was meant to be shared but will know better another time.

I live 5 mins from restaurant and my delivery went from 10 mins away to 25 mins away to lost signal to eventually, after returning to restaurant, arriving cold 50 minutes later.

Nice place really nice tapas and cocktails and a big paella sharer only minor fault the seafood was not mixed with the rice but on top of it worth going if you are in the area. Brilliant atmosphere and service as well!

Best. Value. Ever! £25 per head – We had one drink each, and SO MUCH FOOD!!! It just kept on coming?? IncrEDIBLE (pun intended) tapas. Gorgeous decor, fantastic staff (polite, accommodating, attentive, happy to help), just a brilliant experience all round. Will 100% go back and would highly recommend!x

Have ordered from Lilac Cottage a few times now and very happy we found them. Highly recommend the veg paella and the hadron peppers. Great staff and delivery times. Can't fault them 👍🏼

Came in with a party of 22 for a 40th birthday. Originally 24 but 2 dropped out. From the get go the manager seemed to think there were 27 people in the party and refused to recount when asked. This caused a major fuss with the bill at the end of the night with the manager insisting that the table had to pay £30 extra because the staff had miscounted the numbers. He was very argumentative and refused any solutions we came up with. At the end of what was supposed to be a relaxed 40th celebration, the birthday girl was asked to provide proof that we had paid our deposits prior to the evening, despite my partner providing the deposit in full in June! Apparently the previous manager had been fired and not provided details of prior payments. We were made to feel that our integrity and honesty was being questioned when surely it's the responsibility of the business to keep records of payments made. This put a dampener on the evening and partially spoilt what should have been a memorable celebration. We wrote to the manager directly expressing our disappointment but unfortunately we are still waiting for the courtesy of a reply. It's such a shame because the ambiance and the food, and the other staff were excellent under the circumstances. We have always had positive experiences at this place until now.

Took my wife for her birthday, lovely restaurant and the food was very nice. However, was let down by the fact they were ran out of beer by 6: 30pm. Therefore ordered a Coke, which came in it can priced at 85p but was charged £2.85.

Dined here in May 2022. The staff and food / drink available was amazing. Lovely atmosphere and beautiful cosy restaurant in the middle of the high end town of Prestbury.

Visited last year, everything was delicious, couldn't fault the place. My return visit last week was the complete opposite. Dishes only tapas size. Not last time good portions then. The prawn kebabs this time were ridiculously tiny in comparison to before. 6 pieces of Calamari 2 small kebabs tapas sze rice 3 soft drinks and a coffee. £40!!! Not a garnish in sight 😒😒

We came on Sunday 6 of us the standard of service and food was absolutely fantastic we all had a really fantastic afternoon and we will all certainly ne returning ❤️

The food wasn’t what I expected I didn’t know batatas bravas was served with grated cheese. And the chorizo seemed under cooked and chewy.

Excellent food , great delivery

Four of us enjoyed a delightful, varied lunch at Lilac Cottage on Sunday. We ordered a range of dishes, including a vegetarian paella to share. Every dish was full of flavour. I particularly enjoyed my pork belly and my chilli garlic prawns. The service was excellent and we will certainly be back.

We had about 5 dishes - main reason for the 3 stars is that the dishes had an ok flavour - the bbq pork was tough, the bean salad lacked dressing - portion size was bigger than expected for tapas - price was fine.

We had the most fabulous meal at Lilac Cottage in Prestbury on Saturday evening. Friendly atmosphere, attentive staff and delicious tapas. We’ll be coming again very soon.

I had takeaways from the Lilac Cottage before, but this was the first time in the restaurant. The food we had delivered was always good so it was interesting to see if there was a difference. There was a difference, being fresh out of the kitchen the food was even better! I also found the service to be solid and the staff were friendly and easy to interact with. There was one minor issue, but it was a genuine misunderstanding and was handled very professionally. I will definately be back again

Decided to give this place a 2nd chance tonight. My previous order was missing expensive items that took 2 weeks to be refunded via just eat. Had to take to twitter to get it sorted. Tonight again a missing item. I phoned the restaurant straight away who had no intention of putting this right by bringing the missing item. Told me just to contact just eat for a refund. Really disappointing service, won’t be ordering again!
