In the late afternoon hours of the last day of our week-long tourist-venue-packed London experience, we searched, on a lark, for a place to have vegan afternoon tea (one of us is dairy-averse). The one location that was in our vicinity and not yet closed was St. Ermin’s Hotel. As we entered the exquisite lobby, our immediate thoughts were that we were both underdressed and probably too late. Joana (or with two n's?) G., who appeared to be a concierge or a manager, graciously greeted us and informed us that the tea room was already fully booked. As we turned to leave, she surprised us and asked that we wait a moment; she spent the next five minutes arranging to have us seated in a quiet spot of the hotel lounge area and to have the bar kitchen serve us vegan carrot cake and our choice of teas. This gesture toward non-hotel guests, and on the eve of our 35th wedding anniversary, will be as well cherished as visiting the British Museum, Tower of London, and Westminster Abbey!

I loved the appointments in the room - especially the pictures which are pleated, folded maps designed like a dress and a jacket - if I remember correctly! The room is comfortable for dining at a simple supper.

Beautiful, small, old fashioned- just the way a hotel lounge should be frankly. Great for a pre dinner cocktail (good variety). Cool as cucumber service.

I am not one for leaving bad reviews but as a guest at the bar tonight I'm absolutely discussed how I heard a member of staff talk to someone on the phone! (I'm pretty confident his name was Terence.) he was totally unnecessarily unprofessional and bad tempered for no reason whatsoever!!! This making me NEVER wanting to visit your establishment again!! Pitty really! As I was hoping to visit again!! But unfortunately perhaps you should give your staff a manners test before employing them. X

Free flowing bubbles, Delicate but ample selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes. A lovely selection of teas when we arrived which was a very nice touch. Staff extremely attentive and view from window seat very special.Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and was loathed to leave and walk the very wet and windy river side path to the theatre, but numbness caused by the bubbles definitley helped. Very good value for money in comparison to a lot of other posh tea venues.

This is a lovely place to visit. Champagne afternoon tea with endless champagne - what is not to like? The staff were attentive and friendly and the afternoon tea was lovely. The tea selection is not as large as in other hotels but the teas were lovely and refreshing. The free-flowing bubbles were an absolute joy though and this made the afternoon such good value. The place itself is the real joy though. The original library of the old County Hall still retains its charm and the wooden bookcases divide up the room beautifully so that you do not feel like you are having tea with everyone else. I would definitely recommend a window table so that you can watch the sun going down over Big Ben and the River Thames which is really gorgeous - even though it was pouring with rain outside the views were still lovely, The whole place never felt crowded as there is a limit to the number of tables and so you really did feel like a private tea party. There are also lower tables with more comfy chairs which looked equally nice. All in all a lovely place for a special occasion or just a lovely treat.

If you are going to pay 12 pounds ($20 US Dollars at current rate) for a drink, it should not be a stingy pour. And this was a STINGY pour. Very slow service; seemed like they just didn't have enough servers for the amount of people. Pretty setting, but not worth the high prices for what you get. Went here 3 times as I was staying in the hotel, but the drinks were consistently light pours and service was consistently slow.

Wonderful afternoon with a group of ladies at the Library Lounge. Booked on a bookatable deal for £32 plus free flowing bubbles. I requested a table overlooking Big Ben and they duly delivered. The deal is for a table for around and hour and a half but we turned up early and they were absolutely fine in seating us and we ended up being there for 3 and half hours and not once did the bubbles stop. The 2 young girls that were serving us were so polite and made sure we were having a good time - I don't think I have seen this level of attentive service in a long time. The sandwiches and cakes were not top notch but on saying that, they were lovely and we were asked if we wanted more - after a number of glasses of bubbles, the food was superfluous to requirements!!! The bubbles by the way is Cava and not champagne, but that suited us better as it was lighter to drink and the nicest Cava I've ever had. This is a perfect place to come for a treat and relax. I shall definitely be returning.

We attended the St Ermin hotel in March for the InfiniTEA. We are two adults, but had arranged with Josef (I believe one of the managers) by email to both have the children's tea. We made a reservation, and after Josef's wonderful customer service we had high hopes for the hotel and for the tea,The hotel itself is stunning, but when we arrived for our tea, we waited near on 20 minutes before they brought our tea out and then another 20 before they brought any food. We had clarified both on our reservation and on arrival that we both wanted the InfiniTEA, so imagine my suprise when we were brought out the adult afternoon tea?! After explaining to the staff another two times that we had booked the children's tea, they went to sort this out for us.We overheard a member of staff laughing and commenting "where's the children, then?" which I throught was a little unprofessional. The sandwiches were stale and the cakes were just OK. I was sad, because I thought so much more could have been made out of the superhero theme, but the only good service we recieved was from Josef by email. The service on the day was awful. Worst afternoon tea in London. Sorry Josef!

Went to tea at the Ritz and was not impressed. The scones were not good and not really scones. Ch and F&M offer better tea experience. Table setting and chairs were very cramped. Service was just ok.
