Always well cooked, fresh and hot. Leon cooks to order so the quality is always good. He's always busy so a wait in inevitable but the quality makes up for it.

Lovely place to get fresh fish and chips or what ever else you want. Leon cooks everything to order so it seems slow but the quality makes up for it

After moving to Gainsborough mid 2022 we have settled on our Friday night chippy from Leons. Everything is freshly cooked to order and always well cooked too. Having to wait for a little while during the cooking is a small price to pay for the freshness and quality. Well worth a visit.

Had fish and chips,Not at all impressed my girlfriend had chips and gravy and was not impressed either, they had about 9 work colleagues working behind the counter doing f knows what, just standing there looking bewildered also very rude and miserable one of the workers came outside tooting on a cigarette on the doorstep of the premises definitely will not be returning..

Went to place an order by phone, as we always do, often! Was told that we could do this but would have to queue like everyone else! As it is Friday and he's extremely busy. It meant that if I placed my order for 5pm (I called at 4.30 as I always do) but had to queue for 15 minutes, my food would be cold? He replied 'correct'! So my custom is good enough for you any other day of the week which mostly range from £25 to £50 each order but not on a Friday! So we went elsewhere to a lovely fish and chip shop that do much more called Trinity Fish Bar where the food was just as good, just as hot and just the right price. Sometimes some business owners don't want your custom!! He was rude.

Popped in after a day out, fish cooked fresh to order,well worth waiting for, proper chip shop chips,lovely mushy peas will be back

Called on my way home from shopping and pleased I did Got the small fish n chips the fish was well cooked and moist and chips were nice to Well worth a visit will call again in the future

I was lucky enough to win a Facebook competition for £100 to spend at Leon’s. I am currently working my way though that £100 and have been twice since winning each and every time the service has been brilliant and the food cooked fresh to order. I must say you are one of the best chip shops in town.

Aquellos que me conocen saben que me encanta mi pescado y patatas fritas y soy el primero en quejarse sobre la comida mala. Esta no es una de esas ocasiones. Un colega me presentó a este "fish and chips" y me alegro de que hizo. Si te gusta el pescado fresco y las patatas fritas que sabe bien que no puedes equivocarte yendo aquí. He estado dos veces desde mayo de 2017

Llamado después de comerciales en la ciudad el sábado. Tuvimos que esperar unos minutos mientras el pescado estaba siendo preparado, pero valió la pena la espera! ! En un preciosos peces inusual y patatas fritas crujientes empanada luz! deliciosos No es demasiado caro. Bueno, el servicio amable. Muy impresionado y sin duda estar llamando de nuevo!

Really good traditional fish and chips, one of the best in town, young lass who serves is not only good looking but also friendly and very efficient,the chippy has a great following of regulars and my advice to anyone who hasn't tried them is give them a go.

Well woudnt even rate it a one but had to customer service is very bad very rude by the girl in there ! And the food was very poor quality wouldnt give it to my dog !

Food wasn't great, Chips were greasy. staff was very rude. No atmosphere! I just felt starred at while i waited for my food which took 15 mins. Longest 15 minutes of my life. Will not be going here for tea again

Best fish and chips in town. Parking for 30 minutes outside. A bit out of the way, but worth looking for.

The fish and chips at Leon's are excellent, it's cooked fresh for you so you do have to wait but it's worth it! You don't get much conversation from Leon though!

Called in for sausage and chips for a quick tea when in a hurry. Leon is not a big talker and very matter a fact but its okay he can cook a good chps. Good value for money. Fish looked very good.

I've had fish, chips & pea's from Leon's many times simply cos they've always been spot on! & if you get to know Leon & chat he's no where near the misery he can appear! Try them & see!

Muy torpe hasta el punto que no se usan 5 4 palabras si lo volvería a hacer. No sé si es siempre la misma quizás hubiera tenido una mala Navidad!! Ja, ja

Pescado y patatas fritas sabroso, el personal fue una historia diferente completa: bastante torpe hasta el punto de grosero. Tuve la sensación de que el propietario tiene cierta afiliation a BNP, a juzgar por su actitud hacia los clientes con acento extranjero.

We visit my father in Gainsborough every other weekend and always have fish & chips from Leon's - my husband reckons they are the best to be had anywhere! We come from Newark, and like the other reviewer who lives in Retford always wait for Saturday at dad's to have fish & chips.Portions are HUGE!!!!

I was having a stroll into town as a ventured into a wonderful smell of chips cooking. I've never been tempted to buy chips and walk into town but on this occasion the temptation was too much to resist. I had to wait a few minutes whilst the chips were being freshly cooked but they were defiantly worth the wait! I cannot wait to return.

There are a number of local fish and chips shops locally and Leon's has to be the best. The food is always freshly fried and the portions are generous. Very reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend!

The best ever place in town to get fish & chips . The shop itself is very clean , the staff friendly and chatty , The food is always fresh , never greasy , and value for money .

Just read another review and found it totally unfair, myself and a few friends love fish and chips from here.Always freshly cooked.I live in Retford and I would rather wait and get fish and chips from here than anywhere else nearby.Prices very fair.Owner seems like a quiet man but pleasant.
