Serendipity! Wasn't expecting the fish 'n chips to be that good. Great value too

The fish was big enough, well cooked and tasty. Chips large portion was enough for 2 people. I will definitely go back.

BEST CURRY SAUCE IN THE WORLD, cheaper than other chippys and nice food. Only downfall is that it is never ever open, I often travel 25 mins to this chippy and always check the website before leaving to check its open. Google says open then I get all the way there and entire shop in darkness. Very frustrating. Now says temporarily closed, so who knows how long for. Very vague.

Worst chips I’ve ever had will never go there again

Worst we’ve ever had. Chips were all very dark and tasted horrible and the battered sausage was dark and soggy. Ended up in the bin.

This place is literally the worse fish and chip shop I've ever had the pleasure of eating from. This truly is an insult to the dish of our nation. The fish looks and tastes like an old brown leather shoe. The chips must of been fried 10 years ago which is probably the last time they changed the oil! If you wanna feel ill after eating then this is the place to go!

The man who runs this store is a genuine really nice person when you get to know him. Countless times has he knocked off a 50p here and there for being a regular as well. Could not recommend this place anymore than i already do

If you like soggy barely cooked chips then this is the place for you. Got home and had to refry them myself Edut: refryed them myself. Much better. Ut ultimately ended up in the bin

No steak puddings and no buns. What kind of chip shop is that? The staff looked about 12 too.

Have been going here for years. Always very good food and value for money. Friendly staff too.

This is our local fish and chip shop and usually have good service and good food. Today we went at 12.45 to find that a customer walked out, the door was then locked and on the door was a closed sign even though the opening hours are until 2pm. When it is open it is great. Sadly they lost our custom today.

Don't go to early as chips warmed up from lunchtime fish dry as well really surprised

Just went to get some chips for an evening to be greeted with a very rude young girl behind the counter. I had smiled on entry to the three girls but one of the girls didn’t smile or anything just stared at me and made me feel so uncomfortable, while the other young girl got my order ready, she just stood there with a hard look on her face (would put anyone off ) I then turned round to head to the door when I heard her speak as I saw her reflection in the window saying an extremely rude personal comment about my appearance to the other girls, she was loud and obnoxious clearly.. and she couldn’t exactly talk being on the large side. So I felt like she needed to grow up and not be such a judgemental bully. Rubbish service never going back, neither should she. (Dark haired girl with braces)

Food is good, service is very slow. The delay was 30-45 minutes (apparently the problem was the number of chips needed) but my nuggets were ready well before. By the time I got my order the nuggets were cold and chewy. The chips are really nice at least.

My favorite Chip Shop in Royal Wootton Bassett. The small chips is massive, I struggle somtimes. Taste good too.

The reviews in here put me off slightly but it was a good experience for us. Really quick service, very generous chips portion and very reasonable price. We'll deffo go back.

Slowest chip shop in the country. Don't go in an expect to be served fast food. The wait for chips, even when they have just opened, seems to be a standard 15 minutes plus. If there are more than 4 people in the shop expect to wait at least half an hour, even if you just want a bag of chips as they seem to have a "system" of serving you as the orders come in, so if you order chips only, and the guy in front has ordered 2 fish, rather than serve you and get you out of the door, you have to wait for their fish to be cooked and served, then they will give you your chips! Crazy system, and not really worth the wait. I have found myself driving in to West Swindon, about 10 minutes away, and getting my fish and chips from there are driving back, it's quicker!

Ordered a really big order, 21 fish and chips, absolutely fabulous. No fuss. All ready on time and beautifully cooked!

Unbelievable - ordered food - told it's a 20-30min wait. Went away and came back after a nightmare parking shuffle around the area. Get back - still not ready, not even close. People complaining about waiting a whole hour. Others come in, and the staff are just stuck quoting a "20-30 min wait" - customers are chirping in giving honest warnings and people are leaving to just go elsewhere. Clueless and operated by kids. Total wait time - 1:05. I need my life back

I was one of only two people in the shop yet still had to wait 15 minutes for a battered sausages that looked like it was cooked a week ago and some chips that were mediocre at best.

Fancied fish and chips on a Monday and unfortunately as it turned out this was the only choice. Ordered a fairly large order as wanted to give it a go and counter staff forgot one part of the order. When I enquiried about where part of the order was, I just got attitude from the staff member, was told I would have to wait longer for the missing item then in the next breath told they don't have any left of what I wanted, she seem to take great offence that I had accused her of missing part of the order. Definetly needs to work on her customer service skills. Food was pretty mediocre as well. Won't be going back or recommending to anyone. Next time I'll stick to the high street and not get fish and chips on a Monday in Basset.

The staff are always extremely polite and talkative. The food; reminiscent of the good old days when you'd get a respectable amount of chips for the price paid. Even getting a small portion expect to be overfilled by the end of it. Might be worth sharing with a friend if you're on a diet! Would totally eat here from work if they stayed open long enough... that alone is probably my only complaint.

Awful. Chips were not properly cooked, raw potatoes, and dripping with oil. I could not eat them, so they went in the bin. Fish was fine. Poor show.

Great takeaway, which won't break the bank. Take classical battered cod and chips, half-pound cheeseburger, any of pies or even a sausage - all fresh and mouth-watering! And you as well can have a family dinner for £10!

Chips that tasted a couple of days old, fish that tasted like very cheap frozen fish Attitude from staff, well worth driving to high street and getting better food with a smile
