Ordered a simple breakfast dish with salmon and eggs. The toast was so hard I could not cut it with my knife. Coffee was watery. It felt quite expensive for what we got, probably one of the worst brunches we had in London in the last couple of years.

I can't speak highly enough of the service and ambiance of Le Pain Quotidien in Hampstead. The staff are so incredibly friendly, welcoming, hospitable and always smiling - I love the coffee, food and they have the best gluten free bread! I am a regular customer here and I enjoy each and every visit. Thank you to Ines, Naim, Helena, Marina, Adela and the lovely kitchen staff. : )

Very busy on a Sunday morning. Clean. Friendly staff. Nice range. They do all day breakfast which is a plus. I love the mugs / cups that they serve the tea / coffee in, very cosy! I had the buttermilk scone. I did ask for it without the clotted cream and jam but still got this! I wanted to have less calories and avoid temptation. I did well. The scone was nice. Very tasty. One thing, if you are solo dining like me and looking to read or do some work and relax on a Sunday morning, this isn't the place. Super busy. Not for 'me' time. Would recommend otherwise.

Truly terrible click and collect service Ordered click and collect on Monday. Today (Friday) went to collect and was told they had received my order 15 mins before collection time and had sold out. Actually had to insist to get a refund. Avoid click and collect under any circumstances. Is it any wonder this chain is in serious financial difficulty?

I’m used to going to le pain quotidiens a while back. However it’s always been to have a cup of tea never to eat food. I’ve eaten in several places in hampstead and I have to say it’s the worse for breakfast. Firstly, the plate that they served was way too small for the food that they brought out. Secondly, I thought the food was pretty awful. I’m sure the eggs are microwaved. The whole dish was bland and boring and worse of all I spent £15 in that place. Never again. Don’t waste your money and try somewhere else

I ate lunch in your Hampstead branch today with my parents. I ordered a ham and cheese omelette and when It arrived it was dry and tasteless. I politely said to my waitress that it was disappointing as it was supposed to be a ham & cheese omelette, but that it had no cheese in it and was very dry. Instead of being understanding and apologising she just said that was how the omelette is cooked there. She then walked away without saying anything and returned with some grated cheese. I then asked for a fresh omelette and asked for it to please include the cheese in the omelette, as stated on the menu. She was totally uncaring and said that’s how omelettes are made here again and that the new one would be the same!! My parents and I were beyond speechless at her rude and uncaring manner. I just asked for it not to be overcooked, which is quite a usual request and she took my omelette away with no apology. Some ten minutes later she returned with a new omelette. She did not utter a word to us and just placed the food down and walked away. She did not check at any point during the service to see if I was happy and if the omelette had improved. She did not even bring any cutlery until I asked. The omelette was terrible. One of the worst I have ever eaten. My parents scrambled eggs on toast was mediocre at best. I was so disappointed by the shocking service and the total lack of care by your staff, that we just paid the £45 bill for the 3 of us and left. All 3 of us were totally shocked by the standard of your food and more importantly the total lack of service and care by your staff there. I write so that you are aware and having eaten there several times, I shall not be returning to Le Pain Quotidien. We may as well have thrown £45 in the bin. An upset and very disappointed customer.

I frequently come and sit in Le Pain Quotidian to do work because I love both the environment and the food. I find the e warm, friendly and inviting. The staff are extremely polite, welcoming and kind (a number of times i have actually watched customers being extremley rude to them and they have dealt with it really well). I feel completely comfortable sitting and working here - it feels like a completely safe environment where I can chat to people if I want and stay in my own world if I want. As someone who tries to eat healthily and well Pain Quotidian's menu is perfect. I am able to eat really delicious salads, or warm porridge or something more filling according to my taste. Everything that I have eaten here has felt delicious and special.

With my family we visited the Hampstead cafe for brunch today. We had a great experience. It's such lovely place with great, healthy food. Despite being very busy, staff was very quick to serve dishes and most importantly they were super friendly and kind, especially to my kids which doesn't happen often. We have recently moved to Hampstead and I tried different places but this is definitely the best coffee on high street. Very positive experience and I would truly recommend to visit Hampstead branch for a nice meal with family or friends.

We popped into this place for breakfast, we might as-well have gone for breakfast on the side of the A303. I order scrabbled eggs on toast and my wife order salmon on rye bread. After a good 30 minutes wait the food arrived, brought to us by 2 very grumpy and very unhelpful waitresses. When I looked down at my eggs, they appeared very dark yellow, upon closer inspection, the scrambled eggs has a skin of dried egg all over, after prodding it with a fork, the skin popped like the dried skin on a spot and the eggy pusy liquid oozed out. The toast looked like it had been run over and the salmon died in vain. The rye bread was laughable at best. What a disgusting, horrible place. Stay away, move on, don’t stop here!!! Beware of the pusy eggs. Le Pain Quotidien please leave Hampstead!!!

Really different menu for snacks or meals, all cooked and presented well. Staff ALL so helpful and efficient, working very well as a team. I have eaten lunch here twice recently and yesterday I took a group of 15 for morning coffee and then back for lunch after a self-guided walk around Hampstead. I came here with my partner because we were in the area and saw that there were a few good vegan options available so decided to pop in. I had never been to a pain quotidien before, but I was pleasantly surprised. The interior was cosy and relaxing, and our server, Izzy, was particularly friendly and suggested the vegan cauliflower curry and the vegan sharing platter (both of which were great!). The service was fast but not rushed and the prices reasonable for the area. A welcome change from the atmosphere in other chain cafés!

This place is popular but always seems to have too many buggies clogging up the place. Question , why doesn't the manager ask parents to fold down the buggies and stack them out of the way as I used to when my child was small. Its off putting to look through the window and see the local buggy brigade taking up all the spaced usually eating very little. I enjoy the food there but go much less to this particular branch for the above reasons.

Visited here yesterday for a catch up with a friend as I am gluten free and she is vegetarian. The waitress began with taking our order ‘from memory’ and didn’t write it down. Such a pain because 9 times out of 10, they forget what you ordered. This was one of those times. The wrong order came out and it took ages to be rectified. We also had to ask twice. The scrambled eggs were missed off our order but instead of taking our mushroom toast back to the kitchen, they just brought some eggs on cold side plates (once we had almost finished the mushrooms). When they finally did arrive, they were very overdone and rubbery.

I took the Butcher's brunch consisting of a perfectly cooked soft boiled egg, a plate of thinly sliced hams (Wiltshire & prosciutto), chorizo, a selection a bread with a few olives & gherkins, granola pot, a croissant (Nutella & Jam), a glass of orange juice and a hot drink of your choice. Everything was well cooked, fresh, and nicely presented. My brunch was £15.95 which I consider very good value for being in Hampstead (London). One bonus is the Vegan Brunch (£14.25) selection, so well done Pain Quotidien.

Have visited Le Pain Quotidien in other parts of London, and they have been excellent. As me and a friend wanted to visit Hampstead Heath, we thought we would give this one a try. The food is excellent, as is the ambience. The service was brilliant. The only reason I did not give the restaurant 5 out of 5 was due to the fact that the Scrambled Eggs myself and my friend had came with salad and this was not indicated on the menu, which meant that part of the meal wasn't eaten as neither really go in for salad. It's also great to see a restaurant making use of organic ingredients, as this makes a refreshing change from other restaurants.

In Hampstead yesterday my friend and and I came across this establishment in the heart of the village a few steps from the underground Station. It's all wood, from the floor, to the tables and chairs, the walls and there it stops. A wonderful menu with completely different and unusual offerings as well as all-time favourites. Specials on a separate menu with, for example Avocado Tartine which my friend ordered. It was a thin slice of organic brown Tartine bread covered with a layer of mashed avocado, cannelini beans, lettuce, radishes, hummus and a wedge of lemon. It's quite big so enough for two or a very hungry soul! She had an iced black coffee (which was served with a jug of milk). I opted for organic scrambled eggs and grilled portobello mushrooms, served with a green salad and I chose an organic slice of walnut bread. To drink I had homemade Raspberry Lemonade. It was a bit tart but refreshing and different. The eggs were delicious and the sliced mushrooms a tasty accompaniment. You could have had two boiled eggs and toast with bread of your choice. There was Gazpacho soup on offer, lovely salads including Quinoa and Lentil as well as Smoked Chicken plus Goats Cheese etc. There are breads and delicious cakes to buy too and I went home with a sliced brown Walnut Bread, cost £6. Huge loaf but you could freeze half or only buy half.Tables for two or a huge table to share with others or with friends. Seating right through to the back.Friendly helpful staff too. My friend couldn't finish her Tartine so a box was provided to take the rest home.Toilets on the level with disabled access and baby-changing facilities. The cost for two was £22.00 with a discretionary service charge added. With my bread it was £28 plus the tip.A bit pricey but beautiful tasty food and worth every penny.
