Le Olive Verdi in Gateshead

Ordered the pollo picante for take away, was ready to collect within 15mins, still hot and delicious!

We were a group of 5 and this was our second visit, the first visit was excellent, and our second visit was superb for our daughter's 21st birthday. The food and the service was absolutely superb, and the atmosphere was totally relaxed, all the staff were extremely friendly, and very attentive, we would recommend this restaurant to anyone. We will be going back again without question as good places to eat are getting very scarce in Hebburn and Jarrow, le Olive verdi is like an Oasis in the desert, a perfect place to eat at very reasonable prices.

Great staff. It’s obviously very community oriented Carbonara pasta was great. Arrabbiata was a no for me, not enough taste but then again it depends on your tastebuds

The best food in Gateshead. The staff are genuinely lovely people and clearly care about their customers. I could not recommend it enough. I go with my family fairly regularly and we all agree it has the best food, atmosphere and value for money.

I cannot walk past the place! There's the usual Italian staples and always something new, fresh and exciting on the specials menu which the team are passionate about. The Lobster Ravioli was so good I ordered a second. Always met with a warm welcome and provided warm, friendly and professional service. Excellent independent restaurant I'll happily return to time and time again.

Just had a fairwell meal with some family returning to Australia, excellent friendly service and food. Great atmosphere and surroundings for a meal, would definitely recommend and be back.

Great little place, head through the front doors of the Pelaw Inn, straight ahead is another set of doors to some stairs, at the top of which you can treat yourself to solid Italian restaurant staples - pizza, pasta, steak, wine. I've never left disappointed, and steak night on Wednesdays is an outrageous bargain

Had a lovely Sunday Roast today. I had Lamb my husband had pork and beef. The meats were perfectly cooked and the vegetables were beautiful but especially the cauliflower cheese and the turnip mash. Buzzy atmosphere and friendly staff.

Passed this Restaurant loads of times but never tried it until now. We had the ribeye steak and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Great to see the restaurant busy. Service was great, food great. Well definitely be returning.

Our first time here last night cheeky mid week date night and then onto cinema We actually didn't realise it was steak night which two meals and a bottle of wine both good value but we added a starter and king prawns to the meal beautiful x The service was brilliant two helpful ladies It's upstairs to the pelaw Inn and you can sit on the terrace if like last night was a beautiful night....definitely recommending and will be back at some point thank you for something a little different and quirky 😉

My favourite Italian restaurant 💗 This place it's really special for me and my family, we are from Brazil with Italian roots, and the first time we came here, we felt like home...😊 Staff really kind and friendly, cleaning space, and obviously delicious food! I highly recommend the Tiramisú for dessert and my seven years old daughter said the same about the Carbonara! 😉

Our Electricity was off so we had to order in. The 3 dinners (2 pork, 1 lamb) were absolutely delicious. The meat and vegetables were all cooked to perfection. The dinners arrived in Hebburn piping hot which was amazing. Thanks so much to you all. 😘

A restaurant that feels exclusive every time I go. A secret location at the back of the Pelaw inn and up the stairs always adds to the experience! Great service, with proper Italian cuisine. The restaurant has come a long way since my first visit as the crockery, cutlery and furniture have improved vastly. Can't wait to see the balcony expansion... 10/10!

The only thing that may put some people off is to gain entry to this restaurant is though the bar, but don’t be put of bar staff where very helpful pointing us in the right direction and once upstairs food and staff where lovely. To give an idea of pricing we had two starters two mains and two drinks for just under £40 I would differently go again 😋😋

Lovely attentive staff in a place which is a local staple. We had a lovely time and it's conveniently located above a pub with good atmosphere and live music. The food is good, especially for the price. We would definitely recommend for a convinient meal out if in Pelaw.

Ordered a takeaway meal this evening to pick up from the restaurant. Staff were lovely and friendly and very welcoming as I waited for the food to be prepared. When I arrived home realised that my order was incorrect so rang the restaurant straight away, my issue was dealt with straight away and in a very professional manner, the staff couldn't have been nicer so thanks. By the way the food was lovely and hot and also very tasty. Thanks again

We had a 70th birthday celebration here for our friend there were 12 if us. As always the food/service was excellent they accommodated all our request e.g. adding anchovies, olives & capers to some pizzas changes to types of accompanying pasta etc. Thank you Magdelena and your staff for a wonderful experience x.

Went for Sunday lunch. Roast pork and roast beef portions were very good. I didn't mention at the time but thought the vegetables side was a bit sparse for 2 people, although everything was very tasty. Would definitely go back

Just had the loveliest evening at L'Olive Verdi, the food was delicious the service fantastic ( nothing is,a problem ) great atmosphere all in all a fabulous night 🥰 thankyou so much for making us feel so welcome, we will definitely be back for another family celebration.

Went here to meet family and get a bite to eat, we ate from the happy hour menu which is incredible value for money and great if you have children with you. Staff were very attentive and friendly and there was a great atmosphere. I had soup of the day for a starter, this was tomato and it was lovely. It was served with a slice of toasted bread (also lush) and a portion of butter. The main was a pepperoni pizza for me, this was another great dish. I’d probably say it’s up there with the best pizza I’ve had. The dough was a great flavour and crispy, perfect amount of mozzarella on top too. My 11 year old didn’t finish his and this was boxed up for him so he could take it home. We all got deserts which wasn’t on the happy hour menu but these were also fantastic. I had the profiteroles and they were unreal, I stopped just shy of licking the plate. Definitely a place I’d recommend.

If you want real Italian Pizza & Pasta this is the Best Italian south of the Tyne without a doubt. Pizza is just as it should be = super thin and crispy with top quality ingredients. Shame that they don’t deliver now 🥲

Horrible experience. Went 20 people had to order our food over a week in advance. But even then they couldn't cook any of them right. Plus we got told they didn't have any 16oz tomahawk steak it was only 12 oz but when we got the food it was way smaller than a 10oz fillet. And underdone we got £4 pound off a £25 tomahawk steak

One of our most favourite places to go. Having visited many times, as a group of friends, double dates and a couple each visit has been amazing and well catered for. We’ve been met by the most wounded staff who have took there time to explain all the menu to us and cater to our allergies too. We’re also coeliac & find not only a place who does gluten free but truly understands it is amazing.

All the classics, some fantastic steaks, and unbeatable value for money, plus some killer cocktails and cheesecakes. And as an added bonus, the Pelaw Inn is just downstairs.

Like most people these days I am so bored of cooking so trying all of the local restaurants in my area. Ordered a takeaway tonight, lovely staff, very friendly, super quick delivery and beautiful (hot) food. We had the mushroom starter, salmon pasta and a pizza and I'd definitely order from here again. Absolutely lovely!

Don’t mind a bit of criticism if it’s due but Brian hall complaining about his pizza been cold and topping having moved ? He collected it and walked home with it ? How’s that our fault ?

Had a pizza and pasta today and pasta was good but the pizza was disappointing as first was cold and also most of the topping had moved from the pizza into the corner of the box Have eaten quitemporary a few times in restaurant but was not impressed with tonight Sorry as we ppraise this place evert time but not tonight

Truly fabulous food and excellent, friendly service. I've tried both the restaurant (before the lockdown) and the takeaway service (after the lockdown), and thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the experience every time. Today, I had good, old-fashioned fish and chips from the takeaway service, and it was absolutely divine. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

First takeaway and couldn't find a fault with it will definitely use them again Well done to your Staff and delivered right on time
