Le Delice in Waltham Forest

Yesterday, my friend and I decided to try out this restaurant. The staff made us very welcome and the food was excellent. We came for brunch and both chose dishes newly added to the menu. I went for the Breakfast Pancake and my friend went for the Indian Style Sandwich. Both dishes were delicious and we were served quickly. In addition, the coffees are delicious and the restaurant offers options for various dietary restrictions, such as vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and halal.

Nice relaxed place to meet and chat with old friends. Good vegan main course selection :-) but zero vegan desserts :-(. And no alcohol (though you can bring your own).

Stopped in to get a takeaway pizza. Good prices and the lady serving us was so welcoming and polite. Pizza wasn’t bad but wasn’t incredible, still enjoyable and like I said before, well priced. Would definitely like to come back and try the breakfast menu which looks very lovely.

Had the veggie breakfast which was decent. Looks like a good place for lunch’s with nice food in the cabinet. However, staff seemed unhappy and too bothered about anything on the day.

Just collected lunch for office and very disappointed . Food used to be lovely . Both Jacket Pots cold and hard - had to put potato in office microwave to heat up so pointless so might as well have done my own potato. Waste of money !

Gorgeous, fresh and tasty brunch! Been 4 times now and have really enjoyed it. Highly recommended:-)

This is a great cafe: a wide range of dishes and desserts and each one I’ve had has been delicious. The food is prepared with care and thought.

We loved the vegan pizzas here, almost as good as our home made ones. Two 12" ones were a little too much for us so we asked for a box and took the rest home.

Walked in and my order was taken by a very pleasant female at the till. Ordered the Vegetarian breakfast which I wasn't impressed with at all when it arrived, the scrambled egg was a colour I have never seen egg before, verging on the grey and the thick, foam like appearance is something I hope never to see anywhere again. Cherry Cheesecake tasted far from fresh, one bite was enough. The waitress when clearing the table didn't even ask how everything was, in the service industry that should be a given. I just don't think they care enough there. Worst was the clientele, after I sat down one ruffian after another walked in, there was one in particular who came in talking very loudly on his phone, sat down and played loud music until he left. Management should have done something about that, because things like that to lose you custom very quickly. This was my first time here, it will be my last.

I ordered from the restaurant as I needed food delivered and I know that this place usually serves delicious food and is a nice place to eat. For a delivery it was very expensive as the portions were small and crammed into the containers and looked awful. The avocado was not fresh and they didn’t even cut the brown bits off. Salad cost extra even though it should have come with the meal and I felt that they couldn’t be bothered. If I was at the restaurant I would have returned it for a replacement. Not impressed.

I've been going to Le Delice on Hoe St. frequently with friends and family for the last three years and I cannot recommend it enough. I was compelled to write this review having seen some negative reviews based on isolated bad experiences (and some user reviews that cannot discern the difference between a delivery service and a restaurant). There are some other great places to eat in Walthamstow, but consistent quality of food, service and reasonable prices have kept me coming back time after time. Price wise, it's cheaper than the newer wave of restaurants and cafes moving into Walthamstow and comparable to any equivalent cafe in the UK. You won't find a lunch as satisfying for the same price in a one mile radius. The food is delicious - a great mix of Mediterranean cafe breakfast/lunch options and the best Sunday roast I've had that wasn't home cooked. I've always received excellent service, even when they're stressed out with busy times; they're personable and warmly receptive to friendly customers. Highly recommend!

I ordered on Uber eats.My jacket potato was hard, not cooked at all!And the lasagne was horrible!!!!

The chai tea is literally a tea bag in boiling water for 2.60 The sandwiches are underwelming and overpriced. 5,00 a roll

Ordered 2 pizzas through Justeat, around 1.5 hour ago, got notification that its on its way , and after waiting more than 1 hour they cancelled the order. They didnt pick up the phone either, and now the restaurant is closed of course. How could any restaurant or takeaway place do this without any notice? Its just unacceptable

Terrible experience. One breakfast had missing items (no turkey bacon) and a cold quarter of a tomato masquerading as a portion of cooked tomatoes. The other had undercooked eggs and burnt toast. Terrible presentation. Expensive for the price. Money refunded for one breakfast and realised upon leaving that they even short changed us on that. Do not eat here.

the place looked a bit old i mean floor not clean and service not up to the standard i would say it is overpriced

I bought a coffee and two pastries before a long journey. I asked specifically if both of the pastries were in the bag as I left because I had my hands full and was assured by the staff member that they both were. Once on with the journey, we discovered that in fact only one of the pastries had been put in the bag (despite paying for both), and the one that was in there was uncooked in the middle. On my previous trip to the cafe, I had to ask again for the cake I ordered as I was only given the coffee. Seems to be a bit of a trend here. Disappointed and am unlikely to use the cafe again.

It was a very delicious experience! The pizza was freshly made and the service was fast. The ambience was very friendly and so were the staff members! The restaurant is located in the heart of Walthamstow and the deco is also very welcoming!

Visited here for lunch a lot to choose from on menu I had chicken sweet corn panini with salad They have a hall to rent for functions Parking isn’t great as all roads are permits But plenty of busses that stop near by

El café era agradable! Los sándwiches eran de mala calidad, los sándwiches son pan blanco básico con jamón procesado. Mi sobrino pidió un sándwich de pollo y aguacate, en lugar de eso se sacó un pollo y pesto sin ninguna explicación. Solo se dio cuenta cuando lo olió y no había aguacate en él. Le dijimos al personal que luego dijo que no había aguacate. Pedimos pollo Tikka en lugar de eso, lo que nos hizo pagar 30 p extra por!

Coffee was awful, food never seems to look appetizing. We've had ice cream there twice. It's been ok and unremarkable. The bakery next door not sure if it's part of the same business as it's also called Le Delice is AMAZING

Tanto como yo disfrute de algunos de los mencionados, pueden a veces me hacen sentir decayó durante las horas de trabajo; por suerte hay Le Delice.

Staff friendly and fast. I took a Le Délice breakfast with a Macchiato. It was tasteful, I was full after and the coffee was strong enough to wake me up. I will come back and I recommend it.

After not being able to get any gluten free food in the gallery cafe we came here and they tried very hard to serve a gf option. Nice lunch, very good coffee and great place to people watch.

He estado en muchos cafés halal y tuvimos grandes desayuno inglés completo. Este lugar era horrible al principio estaba molesto por el pequeño tamaño de la porción, pero en la final me alegré de que la porción era pequeña porque era asqueroso. Nos dieron tostadas que apenas tostado y no pudimos ver la mantequilla que se utilizó. Muy estrecho este café no será volver y no lo recomiendo.

The service was really awful. The staff refused to let my six-year-old daughter use the loo even though we had not finished the meal we had bought there, claiming they were 'shutting.' This was an hour before the stated time. When I said this was not acceptable,the staff let my daughter go to the loo, but tried to stop me from going with her, then relented, but took us through the kitchen to get there, and while she was in the loo, the cleaner barged in and shouted at us. When my daughter had finished, I spoke to the manager, who simply reiterated that they were shutting. When I showed her the website stated the closing time was 5:30, she said they were shutting at 5, although it was actually only 4:30. After we left I watched her turn a stream of other people away. At no point while we were in there were we informed that the loo was about to shut, even though we were still eating. I've since also learned that the cafe is supposed to be part of the community toilet scheme. The service was an absolute disgrace. Go to the William Morris cafe instead, if you're in the area.

This cafe is adjacent to a children's play area, with outdoor picnic benches and seating inside. It is the sister of Le Delice on Hoe Street in Walthamstow and they are both equally popular.

Le Delice is the standard local coffee shop. The atmosphere is great, drinks are okay. Service is also good but the cake I had was stale...so choose wisely.

Went here with the family,went for breakfast and it was brilliant.I ordered strawberry and Nutella waffle and egg with toast. I would highly recommend this cafe/restaurant to families and friends. This cafe is also very peaceful and relaxing.Absolute world class. Brilliant service and very nice employees.

We visited this café having a long day behind us and it fell like an oasis, very friendly personnel, nice coffee and cakes.

We stumbled on this place after finding that the restaurant we intended going to had changed its name, and at midday was not open. On the outside Le Delice looked appealing, but things started downhill when the waitress had to have three attempts at getting right the six items we had ordered between us. Even then one main course arrived before the soup, and the drinks which were anything but large arrived last. It appeared that the till menu bore little resemblance to the customer menu and the waitress appeared to either be new or out of her depth. The 'soup of the day' (one of three) - leek and potato, was certainly potato, but had no hint of leek. The chips were the best thing, apart from the fruit juices which were excellent but small if they were supposed to be large. The main dishes were dry and stodgy. Generally things looked appealing, but disappointed by not being fresh. Perhaps we should have gone for the salads and desserts which also looked nice?

This place is awesome. The food is sublime n the service really good too. Read a few reviews n I honestly can say I've never had bad service. The girls who work there are lovely n friendly. The decor could do with an upgrade but we go there for food not decor We're from birmingham n always go there when in london visiting friends. Have been going for 2 years now n been 6 times. 5* everytime.Just wish we had a place as good in Birmingham.

I have lost count of how many times I ate at this place (conveniently located a few minutes from my place)The staff is really friendly and helpful, the food and drink menu is extensive and caters for everyone's taste. They also serve delicious cakes and pastries as well as ice creams.I can now call this place my second home!

Visited for Sunday dinner which tasted great was very filling and very reasonable price. Good service, Cafe also has a cool Moroccan themed back room which is pretty quirky. Will definitely busy again to try another one of the dishes.

This is a lovely London cafe. Very multicultural, as London is. Nicely situated on a corner, with big windows, great for people watching.I'm a Northerner, but I like these places. Different people, sights and food. Staff are very pleasant, the food is fresh and tasty.Prices are very reasonable too, thought I'd pay a lot more.Better than any Starbucks or Costa, a real place, with real people. Great breakfasts too!

Great little place hidden away on the high street. As soon you walk in you're welcomed with a display of cakes and other sweet things. They have a vast menu, all which taste great! I would recommend any of the tagines, definitely will keep you full for the rest of the day. As you go further down the cafe, there's a small room at the back with a slight Moroccan theme. It's great for anyone trying to keep hidden but the organisation of the room needs some work. Overall the place is great if you want some hearty food with amazing service.

When first opened was a breathe of fresh air. Now, decor looks tired needs upgrading. Chef needs a clean apron , this I noticed on my last visit ! Ok for a coffee!

I visited today with my boyfriend this local shop for lunch I like the atmosphere but the service is the worst I've ever experienced and I must say I am waiters myself and if I would behave like these ladies at the shop I would definitely get fired. I asked my baguette to be toasted the lady brought me our baguettes but it wasn't toasted so I asked if we can get it toasted as it isn't and she started to argue with me that it has been toasted already. I gave up on it and didn't argue back my boyfriend didn't eat any of his food. I visited in past with my sister and our visit was just like that or similar. Please do something about you staff or you will loose all your costumers ( I am definitely never coming back my sister neither and neither any of my friends are coming there again)

Went with a colleague for lunch and ordered Moroccan Tangines, it did not taste good at all. Seemed to be a waste of money, although the smoothie we ordered was good. Maybe should have tried some other dish.

The food is really good and there is a large selection to choose from. The only bad thing is the smell of dead mice that is constantly emanating from the toilets. The toilets are never clean and it just makes me want to leave the cafe sooner than I would like. There are also flies flying about the place which makes me question the state of the kitchen. Otherwise, very good place.

stopped here for a late mid-morning break. good range of food and drinks available, and a nice atmosphere about the place, lots of different people. Very reasonably priced as well as good service

Had the breakfast but wasn't told by staff or on the menu that it comes with a beef sausage, not pork which I found to be disgusting. When I mentioned this to the staff she just shrugged and said yes we don't serve pork, like what do you expect. Well didn't really expect that from a restaurant with a french name. Fine, serve what you want but put it on the menu. A shame they have a bad attitude cause otherwise some dishes are nice.

Love this place the food is yummy, the smarties milkshake is the best... Some of my favourite picks from the menu is the delicious chicken tikka Panini, cream and strawberries waffles and bounty chocolate milkshake.Also they have a nice room in the back to chill in ... Very good if you want some privacy with family or friends.

Service can be a bit hit and miss, but the coffee is superb. Food is great, if only they can perfect it all arriving at the same time. Still I'll put up with it, the coffee is that good.

Me and my partner went to le delice few times on our first visit the waitress was so rude to my partner with her very little english i didnt say anything i thought its our first time we should just eat and leave but our food came so cold and so late the coffee was so cold i called the waitress but when she goes past us she forces not to look at us then she came and said "what!!" I was shocked i said the coffee is cold she warmed the coffee then on our second time the waiter forgot our toast it took 30 mins. For the toast to arrive after our food so i was very dissapointed then on our 3rd visit there was a different waitress with the most disgusting attitude ive ever seen took our order she kept on laughing while taking the order we didnt even know why she was laughing there was no one next to her so she just looked at us and laughed then an hour latter the food arrived the while we were eating the same waitress sat next to our table to have her lunch and she kept on looking at me and my partner and laughed that made us so unconfortable i felt like i had a problem on me thats why she was lauging like that then we both left the table and went but any how if i ever go there and see her again ill complain to her manager because shes so rude The biggest problem in that cafe is none of the waitresses can speak english properly and they pretend like they cant see or hear you when you call them The food is lovely its just they need to have professional staff

I ordered a cake for my husbands birthday, was able to order it a day before at short notice, quick service and the cake was yummy. I would definitely use this place again.

Very friendly atmosphere and the ambience is very relaxed. You can have a coffee , steak ( chicken or beef), salad ( goats cheese recommend ), pizza. Choice is endless but the emphasis is on healthy . You can bring your laptop as wifi is supplied. Art by local artists is on the wall.Oh and the cakes are heavenly and its all halal.On my rehular list.

I go to delice quiet often it is the only place in Walthamstow I would recommend anyone going. The layout of the cafe is nice and clean and the food is very good. It is a place you can relax and chill with friends or even go for a meal with the Mrs. The staff are very friendly which helps

Before this used to be my favourite place to eat in Walthamstow but now I don't even go there anymore as they constantly have new waitresses and they keep making mistakes , forgetting food.. Food is not as good as it used to be too, too greasy not many vegetarian chooses. I remember it being better before, last three visits made me completely hate this place :(

They offer really reasonably priced homecooked food, coffee, cakes and ice cream. Really friendly staff.

Two parts to the restaurant, front part modern rustic look with hanging lights, back room Moroccan style but freezing cold, even with the heater on.I tried the Moroccan Spatchcock chicken, served with couscous and salad. The chicken was quite dry and not particularly tasty. Couscous had a strange unfamiliar taste and texture.Le Delice apple crumble and cheese cakes were both delicious!I probably won't go back for a meal but would go back for the desserts.

Going to this place is like going to a family member's home. Nice wholesome fresh food, yummy cakes and coffee. We love it there...

Le delice is a good experience. The Mediterranean feel gives it that touch enjoyment of a change of environment from the usuall in a relaxed environment

If you ever want to learn what terrible service is then you must visit this place just to observe . Get ignored and have to yell to get your food served . People ignore you and serve you the wrong items . It's hell on earth for restaurants ! Never again !

We went to Le Delice as it was one of the venues for the Walthamstow Music Festival. Stayed back to enjoy their crepes and cakes. Absolutely delicious. Seems to be a very popular place.

Truly awful! I ate lunch in lasagna, bad taste and horrible place, at least the bartenders were friendly, unlike the owner!

Come here quite regularly with friends for cake and milkshakes. The items are always prepared well and taste great. The staff are always friendly as is the owner, the cafe is always clean and well presented

Love popping in for a coffee or a Pizza. Extensive menus, friendly efficient staff and very reasonable priced. A real asset to the Walthamstow scene.

I was recommended this by work colleagues in 2013 and it is, as has been said, a real gem of a place. Prompt friendly service and incredibly good value. A varied menu and in particular a mouthwatering selection of cakes. There is a good ambience as the café fills up with all sorts of customers.

Andavo tutte le mattine a fare colazione qui. Personale accogliente e gentile, buona qualità in tutto, dalla colazione,la pasticceria al lunch. E direi, essendo Italiana, anche e soprattutto un buon caffè, per me difficile da trovare. Ve lo consiglio! :-)

Had a very tasty lunch. The salad was fresh as the felafel and houmous. Coffee was very good. Staff friendly and helpful. Quirky cafe with lots of different eating areas. The pastries are delicious. All very very reasonable - maincourse for under £5.00 !!!
